Fantastic food! Stopped here for lunch on a drive to Banff. Will definitely stop again on our way back. Very relaxed and unassuming bistro with great food, very friendly service, quick to bring our food out. I ate my food as well as "tasting" a lot of my husband's. Every bite was delicious. He had the Italian Beef dip and cream of tomato soup. I had the garlic prawns with foccacia bread. All yum!
Highly recommend this little hidden gem! Food was so flavourful, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The chai tea latte & London fog were exceptional. We started with the Caprese salad, it was very fresh and the balsamic was delicious.
Amazing experience! My partner and I celebrated our two year anniversary here and it was just amazing. The staff really made an effort to celebrate with us and it was very appreciated. I would highly recommend anyone go check it out and try the amazing food. The Penne will not disappoint you I promise.
I love this hidden gem! A walk from our place in Canmore. We went for dinner last night and it was honestly the best meal we have had out since the pandemic started. We were discussing where we should eat today for lunch… guess where we are going! Can’t wait to try the French onion soup and fungi flatbread
It appeared there was cooking going on without any visible ventilation. This led to it being hard to breath after they cooked chili pepper oil resulting in them having to air out the entire place.
Best dinner we had in our full week visit to Canmore. Food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of each dish was amazing. Felt like we were dining in a 5-star restaurant! I had the flat iron steak, hubby had the lamb shank dinner special, our friends had the duck confit and the pasta with chicken and mushrooms (don’t remember the name). Everyone loved their meal. We will be back next time we’re in Canmore!
We had our anniversary lunch at this place. The food and the customer service were satisfying. We definitely will visit the place again on our next trip.
I tried the Atlantic salmon and prawns, as well as their in-house chocolate torte, paired with a nice organic Riesling. The fish was a bit overdone and there could’ve been more than two prawns, but the flavours on the plate, the texture, and mouth feel were excellent. We were pampered by our attentive, friendly server, and we enjoyed al fresco dining on a sunny late spring afternoon with a gorgeous view of the mountains.
Very good fancy food and relaxing atmosphere. Staff are very kind and go above and beyond for you. We will definitely be coming back again. We highly recommend this place.
The food was simply great - the tomato soup was thick and tasty, and the beef dip was close to perfect! We sat outdoors and enjoyed the quiet patio. Highly recommended to take the time to bike up to this place.
This place is a hidden gem in Canmore, the food was seriously layered with flavor, generous portions and the customer service was top notch. They went above and beyond for my group. Soul nourishing food.
Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, The Market Bistro serves up simple yet flavorful French and Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Whether you're looking for a morning coffee or an unforgettable dinner, this bistro has something for everyone. Standout dishes include the Duck Confit with fingerling potatoes, seasonal vegetables, tomato chutney, and candied pecans, as well as the Mushroom Pappardelle with roasted mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and Grana Padano. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with live music and stunning views of The Three Sisters mountain range from the patio in the summer. Don't miss out on this gem of a restaurant! The staff at The Market Bistro is as warm and inviting as the atmosphere, always ready with a smile and a helpful suggestion to make your dining experience a memorable one.
Great variety of food options, high quality ingredients and presentation. It's nice to have a local family friendly restaurant that offers an elevated food experience. Highly recommend!
Great little bistro - love the lattes, wine, pasta, pizza and delicious antipasto plate for two. Desserts are all amazing too - it’s hard to decide so just get them all.:)
Absolutely incredible flavours in every dish. The CAPRESE SALAD was excellent with the fresh burrata, the EGGPLANT tasted great with the melted cheese & tomatoes. The STEAK however I think was slightly more medium than medium-rare (as I had asked) and the amount of peppercorns overpowered the sauce a little. The GF CHOCOLATE CAKE was melt in your mouth type - made with some form of a gluten free flour mix and almond milk I was incredibly impressed with this cake. Overall I think this restaurant is overpriced, but the food is excellent.
We made a reservation requesting a standard height table (as opposed to a high table), were seated at a high table anyway. 25 mins before a server even spoke to us. We ended up leaving. It wasn't completely full so I'm not sure what the issue was. I'd be willing to give it another chance but certainly left a bad taste for it.
This hidden gem is just off the #1 in Canmore, has an excellent menu, daily specials; food is perfectly prepared and presented, service is excellent and price is competitive for the type of cuisine.
Market bistro was the perfect dinner stop after a cold hike. Soup of the day was a creamy tomato which was absolutely fantastic. The French onion soup was also very good, and both paired really nicely with a baguette. We finished off dinner with chocolate cake and ice cream. Everything was amazing and we would absolutely return!
Great food with exception of the pulled pork flatbread.our specialty coffees took so long that they were lukewarm by the time we got them.service was average until the waiter came out to the full patio while we were packing up and attempted to tip shaming our party. I tipped based on our experience.
Service was excellent, I went there for my bachelorette and the server was so kind to provide a complimentary dessert! The duck confit was so tender, a couple friends got the risottos which were amazing
Stopped in on Wednesday for dinner on our way back from BC. No reservations but got seated towards the back with a wobbly table—-which they fixed. Looks like the floor is uneven so it was on a slope. Our server was young and she mumbled and spoke down so it was really hard to understand her. Food was good. Hearty, tasty and hot. Came quick. Ordered the Carbonara and Mushroom Pappardelle with chicken. A slice of garlic toast would of made it better. Service needs lots of polishing in how to interact with certain customers and asking the right questions without sounding to brash, eager and amateurish. All about supporting a local family but I guess I expected Stirling Grill or Rustica service with reviews this high and with the price point.
Online menu and in restaurant menu are different not willing to make an item off the online menu by 1 hour. Food price and portion to quality not good.chicken was very tough pasta and sauce were okay. Other order special was very good but portion was not enough left hungry service was mediocre at best on our night. Thought it would be better then it was.
Went for a happy hour, terrible wine selections, Copper Moon 6 oz for $10. Waitress struggled to speak English and managed with coaching to take our drink order. Two listed brands of beer ordered, neither one in stock. Service is lacklustre at best. Save your money. Go elsewhere.
Excellent food and atmosphere. They asked about special events and we were having one, but they did nothing about it. That was surprising. But the food was outstanding.
Dog friendly! My wife and I had supper on the patio at Market Bistro tonight, and it was overall a terrific experience. We had our two big dogs with us, and they were more than accommodating; they even moved the table into the shade for the doggies. We each had the French 75 cocktail - perfect refreshment for the hot weather. French onion soup appetizer did not disappoint. My wife had the mushroom risotto and she loved it. I had the mushroom and chicken pappardelle and it was divine. Service was terrific. Would definitely go back!
Quality of food was excellent. Sauces were the best. Staff treated us like we were long-time visitors! Went two nights in a row and loved every dish we had. Great place!
The staff were very nice and the food was pretty good. I highly recommend the garlic prawns starter; they were super tender and delish. Thee mushroom risotto was good, but it was very very rich and there wasn't anything to help balance it, so it got a bit overwhelming.
The food was amazing - fine dining without the high cost! We had the eggplant, duck confit, and paradelle. Great flavors and perfect texture. The atmosphere itself is casual and the service was top notch. Highly recommend. This is our new go-to in Canmore!
The place has good food. Not good Excellent, servers and polite and attentive. Cannot give a 5 stars because: Hand sanitizer felt like mixed with water. Limited menu options. We order an orange juice and received a juice box. No air extractor at the kitchen. The place was hot and smoky. I think a 4.5 stars is too much for a place with this kind of limitations
An excellent experience all around! Very friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, super-clean space, fast service. Best of all, fantastic food! The food is reasonably priced, extremely fresh with a Mediterranean flair. Something for everyone's tastes. I highly recommend this venue if you're looking for something special, fun, delicious and different. Reservations are a good idea.
What a great night. The eggplant to start was fantastic. The mushroom Pappardelle decadent. And the tiramisu. The team were lovely and attentive. 100% recommend
Nice location. Staff was unpleasant. Made me feel unwelcome. Wine store have the same problem. Misled me in selling me the opposite of what I was looking for.
I love this hidden gem! A walk from our place in Canmore. We went for dinner last night and it was honestly the best meal we have had out since the pandemic started. We were discussing where we should eat today for lunch… guess where we are going! Can’t wait to try the French onion soup and fungi flatbread ️
Great night. 4 of us had the braised rib specialty with mashed potatoes and broccolini. A wow dish. Our server Charu was great and had a good sense of humor. A real delightful time.
I'm conflicted about this place. We had a great charcuterie to start followed by an excellent main course. Dessert was a real let down as it was poor. The staff are also not the best, very inattentive. It's a shame as I want to love it here! I'll go back one day!
We Celebrated a friends 50th Birthday at the Market Bistro and we were delighted with the whole experience! I had the Chicken Marsala which had just the right amount of richness and the sides were perfectly matched and seasoned. For dessert I had one of the specials, an amazing spin on cheesecake which was by far the best cheesecake I have ever had!
The ambience was fantastic, and it definitely transported me with it's European feel.loved how intimate and welcoming it was!
Our Server was so personable, friendly and helpful in making our meal choices. Truly all the Staff were amazing! We met one of the Owners personally, who went out of his way to make our experience memorable and when we walked out the door, all the staff thanked us and wished us well even the cooks behind the counter!
Just enjoyed a lovely fall afternoon on the patio and it was amazing. Our server Charu kindly greeted us and was very patient answering all our questions. We enjoyed the Pollo Pesto Wrap, the Fungi Flat Bread and to my surprise shared shared an order of Mussels. My partner "does not like mussels" but very much enjoyed them. Thank you for the top shelf hospitality Charu. We will definitely be back!
Wow - this place far exceeded my expectations! It is a very unassuming atmosphere, but the food is next level! We ordered takeout, and were blown away with how good it was. I had the risotto funghi and my party had the pappardelle, salmon & shrimp, and steak, plus we shared the baguette and carpaccio. It was all phenomenal. I’ll definitely be going back for an in house dinner soon!
Great restaurant, kind and welcoming staff, quick service and delicious food. Loved the main dish and the dessert too. The waiter who helped us was Ryan, a young energetic fellow!
After visiting a few restaurants in Canmore that were just okay, we finally found a gem.
From first foot into the establishment the staff was incredibly attentive. Service was speedy and friendly.
There was nothing we ordered that we didn’t enjoy - from the appetizers to the desserts. Everything was flavourful and well presented. At first, I was a little weary about the prices after other experiences, but portions are generous and the quality of the food reflects the prices.
We’re in Calgary and it’s made the list for our top favourite restaurants. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!
Had a wonderful evening at Market Bistro. The food was delicious and the server Carmen provided excellent service to our table. I be would highly recommend this place for an evening out.
Finding this type of cuisine in Canmore was rare and desperately needed! It was great to have a choice besides typical pub fare and at a reasonable price for this quality of food. The food was exceptional. No question that it was made fresh. The flavors were spot on. We also had the opportunity to have a great conversation with the executive chef, who made a point of coming out of the kitchen to connect with the diners. He was very personable and definitely cares about his patrons and offering them a quality experience. Thanks for that! This will definitely be a stop we make next time we are in Canmore for a meal.
Amazing food, the duck confit, rositto fungi and starter prawns were heavenly. I can't even explain what a food experience it is to eat here. Very happy we were able to get in, and will definitely return when I have the chance again!
Very high quality food with good value for money. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant itself beautiful. Cute little gem tucked away in the Three Sisters area. Great wine store around the corner too.
Amazing food! Really really good each time we went there! The flammenkueche is to die for and their main courses are full of flavors! The team is really nice! Chef recognized us from 3 month ago. You feel at home. Come and check it out if you’re in Canmore (even if you’re not: we are coming from Calgary ^^)
Was just lovely. Brandied apple cider was amazing and perfect for after 10km cold snowy race. Thai coconut soup was pretty good too. Service was lovely. I'd say skip Banff and busy Canmore and make a stop here for food.
Food was super at this adorable restaurant. I got the jump scallop dish which was delish. As an easy coaster I wouldn't say the scallops were "jumbo" but the risotto more than made up for the smaller than expected scallops. Try Anthony's lemon pie. Its a nice step away from overly sweet desserts and has an interesting texture as it is made with lemon rinds. Would love to plan a private party. It would also be a perfect space for an intimate wedding reception.
