Pam has taken care of my family as a pharmacist for over 30 years. She stays on top of my health and medications better than I do. She’s always willing to take the time and put in the work. I highly recommend pharmacy!

Pam has been our family pharmacist for 30 years and I can’t imagine it any other way! She is extremely knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, and genuinely cares about every person that walks into her pharmacy. Our relationship feels more like friends than patient/pharmacist. I can always count on Pam for a smile, a hug, advice, and the absolute best service! Everyone should have a Pam in their life.

The Medicine Shoppe at Whitemud Crossing has a fabulous team that supports every person who comes in! The team is led by owner-pharmacist Pam Lavold, and she ensures that everyone receives personalized care! This is not just a pharmacy but a wellness centre that supports the entire person and their needs!

Pam and her team at the Medicine Shoppe have always exceeded my expectations, providing the best in personal customer service, understanding my requirements and providing an optimal health care experience. My only pharmacy for all 30 years! Congrats on your 30th!

Pam Lavold and her staff provide one-on-one support to their customers in a manner rarely seen anymore.

There was an instance a number of years ago when my husband's physician made  an error on a prescription.   It would have resulted in 10x the correct dosage of diabetic medication.   When I took the script to Pam, she immediately checked, called the doctor and arranged for the correction.   It is doubtful whether any of the “big pharmacies” would have even thought to check.   Had this not been corrected, the end result could have been catastrophic.   Pam knows the personal history of her patients and looks after their well-being "personally".

Thanks Pam and congratulations on 30 years!

PROCEED WITH CAUTION
The horrific employee turnover rate over the last 6-18 months has been directly addressed in "customers" "reviews" on different platforms as they communicate a deep-rooted problem that is not an employee problem, but an employer problem. The excuse of being an astute and profound caretaker of customers' lives with extremely high standards is the mask utilized for berating, humiliating, outright emotional abusing and the unbelievable deposing of staff credibility right to the actual customer is something I have NEVER experienced before. EVER. Staff seem to be afraid to move with worry of some twisted type of retribution, not to mention a terrible call-out of their supposed deficiencies to the next customer that steps up.
Customers, or patients if you will, are also not treated equally. For example patients in need of opiod care, are treated as if they are simply not up to the same standard or need of her attention, patience or level of empathetic care. They at times walk away feeling as if they have done something wrong.
I understand pharmacies are businesses that must make a profit just like the next one and certain steps must be taken to ensure that. But the mgr's insistence on her blood pressure tests (among a few other things she can collect on from ABHC) every single visit and exaggerating the extremely negative effects that will overcome me to eventually succumbing to my death should I not choose to get one done is way past bordering on outlandish. To say she is extremely insistent is not even an understatement, I would call it pestering but I don't think that would be close enough.
Her actions along with the outlandishly, inexplicable treatment of staff is an embarrassment for a pharmacy brand that should stand proud for a good many of their well managed, well-serving locations.

There is not one thing untrue in this post. The employee abuse is real and should and must be tactfully dealt with.
This behavior must stop.

I BELIEVE THIS POST WILL BE TAKEN DOWN. IF SO, I WILL RE-POST & RE-POST, & RE-POST, & REPO.

There is no other pharmacist that I would rather have look after my prescriptions than Pam Lavold.

Pam has given me, as she does all of her clients, a level of personal attention and care that is exceedingly rare these days. She has become, over the past 30 odd years, my most trusted health care provider. She takes her time, looks me in the eye, asks questions, and listens to what I’m saying. I think she has a better grasp of my health than I do.

I’m in my sixties now, and facing my biggest health challenge, and having her in my corner has taken a huge weight off my shoulders. There is none better in her profession.

My husband and I were in Medicine Shoppe #114 the other day and noticed that 2023 was a 30th anniversary year for the Medicine Shoppe. Kind of a big deal in this day and age. That got us thinking about when we first met Pam. We’ve been with Pam for her entire career or pretty close to it. That says a lot too. Pam is a conscientious, dedicated and caring individual. She is patient regardless of the demands being placed on her at any given time. This isn’t just a place “where you get your meds” as someone noted in a review. This is a serious job with very serious consequences. Given that, It comes as no surprise that Pam endeavours to hire staff whose values and work ethic align with hers. She has great staff. Sometimes, not so much. As any business owner will tell you staffing is one of the most difficult parts of running a business. It is an ongoing effort. It does involve people after all. If the fit isn’t there, it just isn’t there. A “sign of something not being right in the work place” would be holding on to staff who don’t meet the standard you expect as a business owner.

People also write reviews. Many are transparent and honest. Some will have some constructive criticism. Some will have glowing reviews because of their particular experience. And then there’s those keyboard warriors who hide behind a pseudonym and do their very best to negatively affect the business/product/service they are reviewing. They are motivated by something. But they don’t tell you that part. It’s a tough slog Pam but we think you are doing an amazing job. Try to ignore the noise from those with an agenda.
