Went for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. The server was incredibly friendly. I'm not a big salad guy, but I tried the House Salad, and it was legitimately the best salad I have ever had. The best part is that you can also buy a bottle of their dressing! We also tired the Mac N’ Cheese, and that was 10/10. Can't wait to come back.
We went here only to try the PB&J burger, and it was outstanding! The beef was medium rare, juicy and high quality. The brioche bun they use is extremely high quality and complements the sweet/savory flavors imparted by the crunchy peanut butter and bacon jam. I would rank this among the top 5 burgers in the city.
I got the critics choice burger with fries. Absolutely delicious. The patty was one of the best patties ive ever had. Server was super nice and attentive without being all in your face. Prices were also very reasonable and worth it. Will definitely come back
Had a nice dinner out at The Next Act. Enjoyed the Critic… bacon cheeseburger. It had a bit of kick… a creeping spiciness that was really good. Fries were good. The beer was nice and cold. There was a really good variety of beer choices. Service was excellent!
Great place to hang out and have lunch. Patio seating is very comfortable. Lime chicken sandwich and drama queen is a must try. Cassy is very friendly and a great server. Service was quick and easy.
The atmosphere at this local spot is lively, with dim lighting that adds to its charm. The drink selection is commendable, offering a variety of choices to suit different palates.
The food, however, is a mixed bag. The Korean fried tofu sandwich and nachos were enjoyable, but the inconsistency in the quality of the fries was noticeable, varying from burnt to just okay across visits. The kitchen also seemed to struggle with accommodating food modifications for dietary restrictions, which could be a concern for those with specific dietary needs.
The service was fairly standard, neither exceptionally good nor bad. The restaurant was busy during the visit, indicating its popularity among locals.
The presentation of the food was nothing out of the ordinary, but the pricing was reasonable for the quantity and quality of food served.
While the food and service could use some improvement, the lively atmosphere and good drink selection make this place worth a visit. However, those with specific dietary restrictions might want to consider other options.
This is a great place to grab a bite to eat and a beer. The food is always great, there's a nice variety of burgers to choose from, and a good selection of beers on tap.
Very popular place for the Whyte Ave crowd. On a Monday evening it was half full and busier than a lot of similar Whyte Ave pubs and restaurants. I had the burger and fries and while it was tasty it was nothing to get real excited about. It was very average. It also looks like they're going to have winter patios as on November 20 there was outside service.
Best burgers in Edmonton. All are good but the stand out for me is the veggie burger. I hate veggies. I hate them with a burning passion and would rather die than be stuck eating raw vegetables forever. But I like this. I don't know what it is about it, how they make the patty maybe? I got it once at random and, lo and behold, I like it more than the other burgers, and I've had all of the other ones.
Try it out. Good service as well and welcoming atmosphere.
The Drama Queen is honestly the best veggie burger I have ever had. While I do eat meat I almost always get it here since it is so amazing. If they sold them frozen for take home my freezer would be packed!
Very impressed! Came for brunch and was not disappointed. Best eggs Benny I’ve had in a long time. Friendly server. Great atmosphere with the fires outside on the patio. Had to wait a little for the food on a Saturday morning but worth the wait!
Came here with wife and kids with our two dogs. I've been here before and the food is great, however today we brought our dogs and sat on the patio. They were so good with accommodating the dogs and making them at home. It was very special! Thanks for including us!
This place is amazing. Especially as a vegan. It’s been a great treat to go to an establishment that has more than one option. Ev was our server and we feel privileged to have him. Such a good dude. Thanks ev.
The server was very polite. The food was good and consistent. It gets pretty busy so make sure you book ahead if its a date. They have a heated patio so thats very nice.
One of the best burgers in Yeg town! Service was slightly slow but in their defense they were full.parking is an issue for that location too but we were lucky to find a nearby spot! Our server Olivia was very pleasant, attentive and delivered the orders perfectly as per our food choices.we had pyrotechnic burger and their gigantic, fresh out of the oven Nachos tray, which the menu doesn't mention but is good for starters for 4 people. Over all really a good experience! Thank you
Went for lunch here with my brother as he has a gluten intolerance and this is one of his favourite restaurants that can accommodate his diet. Usually trying to find a restaurant that has good options for him and great food full of gluten for me isn't easy, but this place was fantastic. Great location right off Whyte Ave is perfect for an after dinner walk around the Ave to burn off some of the delicious calories.
Really great burgers and beer, with an excellent patio. My favourite place to meet friends and hang out in the area. Highly recommend the pyrotechnic and the critic burgers. Also the drama queen is a great veggie option. And good fries!
WORST CHEF EVER! I asked for egg white and was told by the CHEF that this was not possible. There is eggs Benedict on the menu made with fresh hollandaise sauce (which is made from egg yolk only) so obviously he knows how to separate an egg. Just didn't feel like it I guess. So then I asked for the eggs to be fried with the yolk kept intact so that I could separate it myself. When the breakfast came the yolk was mixed in all over so that it was impossible to separate. I have never been so rudly insulted by a restaurant before. This was my first time there and will never go back. I have been to five star restaurants that bring me my egg whites with no issues or concerns. Because they take pride in their food and their customer service. This was blatantly disrespectful. I was not rude and still paid for my meal with a tip to the server but felt I had to leave a review.
08/21/2021 update. Really like the burgers here. Staff was quick and efficient. Reasonable prices. Great location. Fries were hot but perhaps too many short in the mix.
Had the pulled pork nachos, they were excellent! I have high expectations when having nachos at a restaurant as they're so easy to make at home. These met and exceeded my expectations. Would easily feed 3 hungry folks. Service was solid, good beers on tap. Highly recommend.
The food at this place is super greasy and heavy. Maybe that’s what they’re known for, but even the salad - oh my god - it was like eating a cup of oil with some leaves.
Gluten free fish and chips! Wasn't sure I'd get to eat breaded fish again being newly Celiac. And wow, very good! Nice and crunchy. Waitress/service was awesome. She said the whole menu can be adapted to gluten free. And dedicated fryers! I will be back for sure!
In 10 years of coming here from time to time, I have never been disappointed. The food is sooo tasty, this place is a hidden Gem, and the staff had always been friendly and helpful. A great place to meet up with friends for a few drinks or a one on one for dinner, lunch or brunch! If you've never tried it, get over there!
The French fries are some of the best I have had. I would come back here just to eat a plate of them! I wish they had kids meals here because the burgers are quite large for kids. However, it is a great restaurant with a wonderful patio out front. It was nice that the servers were wearing masks. Parking can be tricky. We used a lot where you had to pay.
Service was excellent. Outdoor patio on a sunny day was lovely. Spinach Dip was tasty, loved the amount of citrus. Fries were weirdly cut. Chicken burger patty was quite dry, but seasoning and toppings were great. Salad was great.
Went in to get burger and fries this one time but you need Identification even if you're not ordering or drinking alcohol.the waiter was rude. This place is super strict! So Left and ate next door. Won't come back.
Quite covid friendly for the size of the place while still being very jovial with stellar customers service. Really appreciate the good serving staff and the food is consistently delicious. This is also a great place to stop by for a beer as their craft selection is something they pride themselves on and the staff are knowledgeable in helping you pick one out. This is a great spot just off Whyte. Bonus: they have a winter patio I have yet to partake in, but it looks lovely (it has heaters, they don't just plant chairs outside in -20 hoping you'll just sit and freeze in case you're wondering)
Lunch with my kids. We tried to get in before but couldn't get a table so we were looking forward to trying it. We had the Cameo Burger, Grilled Cheese and Chicken Burger. Everything was ok but nothing special for $17 a burger.
The staff was super friendly. The place was really busy. Nice little pub/bar. Outdoor seating. Great food. They have quite a few gluten free items on the menu. Definitely going to come back.
Had the Critic burger. So good. Juicy and tasty patty with smoky bacon and cheese. An excellent ceasar salad side to go with it. Definitely check it out.
So very friendly and homey. The food is all made in-house for the vast majority of the menu, and it is scrumptious. Liads of various draught beers, with a locally-brewed emphasis. Always very bustling so plan ahead or send some troops in early to solidify a seat.
I like the diner type style. The servers all seem really nice and helpful. I had a donair poutine on Canada day which was delicious. If it's not a regular menu item then it should be. I would reccomend the Next Act and I look forward to being back and trying more menu items.
Love this place! The atmosphere, the service and the food is all really good. I get the chicken burger with guacamole almost every time, so good! For dessert, the fried cookie with ice cream is amazing!
Awesome place for a burger and pint. Came for Canada Day and got the Cameo burger. So many items from Canada and it went so well. Excellent atmosphere and fun time. Can't go wrong where the motto on the wall is "come in good. Leave Better. "
The service was great! Had two orders of wings, poutine, and barley soup. All were awesome. The place was packed, even on a long weekend Saturday night. Great atmosphere. There is outdoor seating with infrared heaters. Lots of beer selections. We'll definitely be back.
Decent food, good place for a drink with friends. Usually crowded and a bit "stuffy", wouldn't reccomend going if your with someone hard of hearing or a quiet voice.
Delicious food! The burgers are amazing. The beer selection is extensive and delicious as well. Staff are super friendly, service is fast, overall awesome experience and great atmosphere.
A nice little gem in Edmonton with the city's best burger here. Although you can't go wrong with anything from the menu, especially the PB&J burger. ;) The selection of beer is another thing that'll keep you coming back with a fair selection of both craft brews and mainstream favs. What makes this place so special is the service here. The people here are very personable and down to earth. They always treat you like an old friend. Always a treat to come here.p. S. - I miss Elina, but the staff here are able to fill her shoes nicely
This place is a great little restaurant near the Whyte Ave area. They have a selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and soup. The brunch menu also looked excellent. I had the Brisket Donaire with fries, and it was all excellent. The Donaire wasn't swimming in success, it was just enough and a little tomato and onion with delicious pulled Brisket and house made fries, the best kind for vinegar. They also have a good least of beers, but I suggest the house dark, hoppy and a little sweet.
The selection of burgers is wonderful! Our server was really great at recommending some options. It would be worth another visit, especially to taste some of the more creative combinations of burgers!
