The Norland Historic Estate Wedding & Event Venue

The Norland was the venue of our dreams. Not only is it an absolutely stunning estate, the entire team was supportive from the moment we first visited the facility for a tour through to our wedding. Strong organization, clear communication and a venue which anyone is lucky to have for their special day. Their recommendations for vendors were very much appreciated, the event-day staff were fantastic and the venue was exactly what we wanted.it was so nice being able to stay at the estate on the night of our wedding; there were beautiful rooms for our entire bridal party. Thank you!

We held our corporate Christmas party at the Norland and everything from initial contact, to working with the event coordinators and on site staff was amazing. The Norland is such a beautiful place that is also so functional at the same time. The food was amazing as everyone who has had the privilege of working with LA Chefs has experienced. The best venue in Alberta, hands down.

We had our wedding at The Norland in September and it was everything we could have imagined and then some. The venue itself is gorgeous, and the grounds are so well kept, but the day was made even better by the staff. Our day of coordinator with the venue, Nonie, was amazing. She was so helpful, despite our multiple day of requests, she was always smiling and was more than willing to help us out. I also want to mention that our two bartenders for the evening (whose names I wish I would have gotten) were incredible, they remembered everyone's orders and were flexible when we decided to make changes to the times our bar was open throughout the evening. All of our food was amazing and our guests raved about everything! Alexandra and Trisha were great to work with and made our planning process seamless by always responding to our many questions in a positive and timely manner. Cannot say enough about how amazing our day was, and we cannot thank The Norland enough for everything.

This historic site is absolutely stunning with so much history and many stories. From weddings, celebrations, and meetings. This place has it all. The staff is highly knowledgeable and very helpful, they will help you meet your needs!

I had my wedding at the Norland in November 2022 and they absolutely exceeded my expectations! Alexandra and Trisha were so helpful throughout the entire planning process and were able to answer all my questions and requests! Nonnie and Pree were our venue hosts and they were so kind and willing to help throughout the whole weekend. If you are considering having your wedding or event at the Norland I would HIGHLY recommend! Couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else and we are so fortunate to have such a beautiful facility in southern Alberta.

My husband and I recently had our fall wedding dreams realized when we had our wedding at The Norland! Throughout the entire planning process, Alexandra and Trisha were incredibly responsive to our inquiries and we never waited over 12 hours for an email response. Trisha was integral in helping us select a floor plan and was more than patient when we changed the layout many, many times. Having an opportunity to attend a tasing event prior to making our food selections was greatly appreciated. The day of our wedding, Nonie greeted us with a big smile and helped to ensure that the entire day ran smoothly. When we ran into a last minute issue with some floral arrangements, Nonie went above and beyond and solved our problem instantly. Our entire experience with the Norland- from planning to execution; food and decoration; and everything else- has been nothing short of outstanding and I highly recommend The Norland to any couples seeking a gorgeous wedding venue with superb service and even better staff!

Not only was it absolutely stunning but the staff was amazing from the coordinators to the bartenders and our guest told us that the LA chef meal was the best they had ever had. I cannot say enough about how great the venue and team at the Norland truly are! We had the most special day and the Norland offered more than we could’ve imagined! The venue was perfect, the food was so good and all of our guests loved it, especially our guests that had dietary restrictions as LA chefs provided so many good alternatives to our menus so everyone could enjoy! The bar, security and event coordinators all went above and beyond and we had the best time getting to know each of them! I cannot recommend the Norland enough for any and all your upcoming occasions!

Words can't express how amazing my experience was at The Norland. The place alone is absolutely magical. The staff and coordinators are so kind and personable. The food is amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Our wedding took place in July 2022.

First, I would like to mention that Nonie was excellent and very helpful. She is very patient, available, kind, and attentive to detail. We are very grateful to have her on our wedding day. We had less time with Savanah, but she was excellent too. All the staff members were super cool and smiling; it was enjoyable to have them with us. We also appreciate the Bartender's investment in trying to make everyone satisfied with the cocktails. The venue is beautiful but, we experienced some situations that we were not happy with and unfortunately, it spoiled us a bit our experience.

I saw we had a lot of cocktail pieces left when the staff decided to remove everything from the buffet table. I was taking pictures during the cocktail hour, and at the end, I didn't have the time to enjoy anything from the cocktail buffet. Later, when I asked via email what happened to the remaining food, they told me they donated it to Street Alive. I know the contract mentioned that for safety reasons, and I am not against donating, but I don't think it's fair not to be able to enjoy what we paid for. I believed at least a few pieces would get back to us as we were supposed to take everything left home. They gave us take-away bags for some of the kids' menus, so I don't understand why it couldn't be the same with some cocktail pieces.very odd.

We were also disappointed with the main course (Chicken Ballotine). The chicken was far from what we tasted months ago during the tasting session. Not the same shape, not the same flavour, very dry. We feel like it was a completely different meal from the tasting day. The risotto was ok but not cooked enough on some plates.

Regarding the tasting day, we have made some plated dinner selections to help us decide what to choose. None of the meals we have determined were at the tasting. I understand you tried to accommodate everyone on that day. Still, my husband and I were the only couples present on that day who chose to have a plated dinner, so, unfortunately, we could not taste anything from our selection. We finally tried the chicken ballotine on the tasting day, which is why we decided to go with that choice, but as mentioned before, the meal didn't meet our expectations on the wedding day.

We were also frustrated with some selections. If selections might change only a few weeks from the event day because of your supplier or for other reasons, you should've mentioned that on the LA Chef's menu or be more clear about it.

I feel like a lot of things could've been done better with the process.

Amazing Venue, Staff and Food! At no point did we think we were being overcharged. Everything was very reasonable for pricing, and we had a perfect beautiful wedding day.

The Norland Historic Estate is extraordinary and so beautiful inside and out. There are so many picturesque places that are full of charm. We had a gala with 168 people in early May and the venue, Trisha from LA to Chef, and Noni the onsite hostess just blew any party I have done away.
People don't attend an event they attend an experience. The night was warm so we opened up the french doors in the ballroom and had a night breeze. All the windows looking out on the gardens and lovely patio. It just does not get better than this. Trisha was my go to person and nothing was impossible. She made planning so easy and was so pleasant. She managed everything and was patient with all my requests. The food from LA Chefs was amazing. Guests with special needs or allergies were all attended and got what they needed. The LA Chef staff were all so nice, professional, and spoiled all the guests. Amy spearheaded the meal and service and was just a pleasure. Noni was so helpful and just magically appeared whenever you had a question or needed a hand. She even masterfully glued a flower base that broke in travel. I can't say enough about the venue, service, and team you work with. Level Up, just the best place for any special gatherings or events.

Really beautiful estate, the inside is well kept, clean and full of character. The one down side is there are no noise dampeners so when there was over 100 people in the room, it was so loud we could hardly visit with people at our table.

Magical venue and amazing staff!

Me and my wife had our wedding during COVID and the Norland was very attentive, flexible and helpful when it came to planning. They responded to all our requests and exceeded expectations. The staff was one of the highlights of our event, they were all friendly and fun to be around!

Beautiful old building that is now a venue for events. We were there the day after a snowfall, and following day was a winter wonderland.

Norland is an amazing place to hold a wedding! I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone! The staff really go above and beyond. In particular Alexandra (the event organizer), Trisha (the wedding planner) and Amy (the day of coordinator) were so wonderful. They are organized, helpful, and very friendly. There are so many beautiful spots within the Norland grounds that you don’t even have to leave the venue for wedding pictures. Norland is very accommodating to your wedding wishes and always ensures that you’re happy and that your wedding day is perfect!

The Norland went above and beyond to make our wedding day come to life. As if wedding planning isn't hectic enough, COVID made it seem impossible, but the people at the Norland (especially Marci and Trish) helped calm our nerves and give us a magical day! All of the serving staff and day of staff are so sweet and overall amazing. The Norland is a beautiful location and the people there are wonderful! We also highly recommend the beef wellington!

Such a beautiful venue with amazing scenery and greenery. The home itself is amazing and decorated vintage. So many awesome photo opportunities and makes for an amazing wedding atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff.

The Norland was an absolutely beautiful place to get married. The day we got married there it was windy outside but the mature trees surrounding the property sheltered our ceremony and cocktail hour greatly. I would highly recommend the Norland as it's a one of a kind Venue in Southern Alberta.

My daughter just got married at the Norland. What I can say is that it was much more than I expected - it was a partnership! During the whole planning that lasted months (before and during the pandemic), the owner and the staff were amazing, making sure they followed the restrictions, but at the same time made accommodation for an unforgettable celebration. I told my family that if The Norland staff could do such an amazing job during a pandemic, they surely can handle any situation. They are professional, and caring at the same time. When my daughter chose this venue two years ago, I wasn't sure it was the right decision (we live in Calgary, and both my family and the groom's family would have to travel from other countries to Lethbridge), but I couldn't have asked for a more perfect decision. Thanks everyone, you are great!

My wife and I got married here. Nearly 2 years later they let us come back to dance in the outdoor gazebo. Incredible estate with incredible staff! A hidden gem in Southern AB!

The Norland is a breathtakingly stunning venue at which we were privileged to celebrate our wedding. Alexandra was an absolute pleasure to work with, genuinely invested in our desires as a couple and in every detail of the wedding. The whole process of booking was made very easy and clear by the staff, and they consistently welcomed our questions and did all they could to ensure we understood and agreed upon every aspect. With a chronic health condition, having the house available throughout the day was a profound blessing as it provided space for me and my similar guests to rest mid-celebration. The whole building is a dream for a wedding - gorgeous ballroom, separate catering/entrance space, and attached house for wedding party/family/bride preparations and room (s) for the wedding night. We were married a few days before Christmas so their seasonal decorations were gorgeous and added that extra touch (beautiful tree, outdoor lights, etc.). Having the catering directly linked to the venue also added a level of ease. If spending a bit more money is worth the gift of having a whole team of capable professionals to help facilitate and organize the celebration, we highly suggest this venue. Our only negative comment would be our frustration with the ballroom being set up for someone else's reception when we were meant to do our ceremony rehearsal; understandably, that was rather limiting and unhelpful. Outside of that, the team did all they could to make our experience effortless and memorable, in which they succeeded.

This place was not only my wife's dream wedding spot, I completely blew me away with how gorgeous is was. Everything is in tip top shape and very manicured inside and out. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The made sure that we felt like we were at home and had our own space. Thank you guy so very much for everything and making our dream wedding come true.

If you are looking for a venue with character, I highly recommend The Norland Historic Estate. This venue has stunning grounds with mature trees that canopy the lawns. The outdoor and indoor space is ample and the character home will not fall short to impress. As far as planning your wedding goes, Trisha, Alexandra, and Loryn are absolutely amazing. We communicated with Marci as well, one of the owners, and she was very professional in all our interractions. The Norland was very prompt to reply and very patient throughout the planning process. My husband and I got married at the Norland on August 2020 - a "COVID wedding" - and the staff were very catering and followed the regulations really well; us and all the guests felt safe. My husband and I were concerned about the quality of the food as they use a catering service - LA Chefs - and we did not have time to do a tasting; however, the food was delicious! Like most weddings, a couple of things did not go according to plan, however the venue was quick to take responsibility and that made us understanding of the circumstances. If we were to pick a venue now, we would still choose The Norland without any hesitation.

We had our June 2019 wedding at The Norland, and WOW. From the very start, their team was incredibly supportive, and made the entire planning of the event as seamless as possible. The end result surpassed our expectations and as cheesy as it may sound, it was the wedding of our dreams! Our friends and family could not stop talking about how gorgeous the event location was, how pleasant the staff were, and how good the food was. We live in Calgary, and I tell everyone to consider The Norland. Nothing here, or in the popular Rockies event spaces, compares to the elegance and value of the Norland. It is a hidden gem that not many outside of the Lethbridge area would know about, though as word spreads I doubt it will remain that way! Thanks so much to the Norland's team:)

The venue is absolutely beautiful. The party we had there worked totally well. It is a must see for any wedding or work party.

We'd never heard of the Norland before I met them at a bridal show in Calgary. A gorgeous, affordable, Southern-style mansion just two hours south? Somebody pinch me!

When told we were having our wedding in Lethbridge, people always asked if we were from there/why Lethbridge. Then I'd whip out my phone and show them this fabulous venue and watch their jaws drop. Needless to say, they understood!

The estate is stunning, and having the whole event from ceremony to photos and the reception all in one spot made it super convenient. The whole team was a dream to work with. They understood our needs (namely allergies) and worked very hard to ensure they were met. I'd like to specifically shout out Alex, Laura, Kelsea, Trisha, and the owners Dale and Maurine. Our wedding was absolutely perfect.

I also appreciated the handy list of recommended vendors the Norland had available, making vendor hiring decisions a piece of cake.

As a wedding photographer I love experience venues from a vendor point of view. The Norland had amazing service and outstanding food. The staff was helpful when we needed to make timeline adjustments or get a quick needle and thread for a emergency repair:) I would highly recommend this historic site for its beaut and charm and over all staff!

Wonderful experience when we were here for a wedding. The staff here are caring, knowledgeable and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure your experience is one to remember. They are open to question and willing to help you every step of the way. The grounds are spectacular with lots of beautiful areas for photos. All areas are immaculate with beautiful gardens and green spaces. The house is stunning lots of room for a small intimate setting or a large event. Lots a great places for photo ops.

We were married there one year ago today. It was beautiful inside and out as it was the coldest and snowest day ever! The details and food were perfect. Highly recommend this historic gorgeous location for wedding!
