We love The Old Spaghetti Factory! It’s the best place to eat in Banff taken into account price, access and quality of food. Fair food for great price. Also great for kids!
I ordered roasted garlic grilled chicken, chicken Alfredo with mushroom & cheese ravioli, and bam bam shrimp. As it is an all-inclusive meal. They give bread and garlic butter for starting. Then you can choose between a soup or a salad and after the meal you get tea, coffee or ice cream. The food was absolutely delicious, bam bam shrimp was excellent. Ravioli was outstanding. Roasted garlic grill chicken was good but could have a little more flavor. Soup and tea were good too. Service was top-notch. The ambiance was really nice. Overall, it is a great place to dine in!
Service is super fast and they got you straight to the deal. Our sever Dayton was fast and specific with paying attention to the details. Steaks were made fast and delicious. Definitely would come again.
Came at opening hours. Quickly seated and fast service. Unlimited baked bread and came with side salad/soup. Seafood linguini marinara had a generous portion of seafood and spices. Once other diners came, they were seated relatively close to other tables. Server forgot to give us our ice cream at the end, until we asked.
Service was good, food was good, and prices were good. The main reason for my review is to say that this restaurant does have vegan options! There are only two meal options, the marinara sauce or the marinara sauce with impossible meatballs, so not too much of a selection, but I was happy to have an option that wasn't a burger. For $19.95, I got bread (with garlic butter, which obviously isn't vegan, but my boyfriend said it was good), the choice of minestrone (which is also vegan and was very good!) or salad, the main meal (I chose marinara with impossible meatballs), and ice cream and coffee (which again, isn't vegan, so I didn't try it).
This restaurant is constantly great. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is always great and excellent value. It's our go to restaurant in Banff. Sure - it's family friendly but sometimes that's even entertaining. They are supporting all COVID protocols so we felt safe. Lots of open seating arrangements.
We decided to eat here while on vacation and being a celiac I was more than sceptical of the “spaghetti factory” as a choice but the staff were extremely friendly. They have a decent gluten free menu for what type or restaurant they are. I ordered a pesto/chicken dish on gluten free noodles. I was surprised at the consistency of the noodles for being GF, you couldn’t really tell. I had no post meal issues, would recommend.
So disappointing! My bf and I did a spontaneous trip to Banff and were excited to find The Old Spaghetti Factory there. But what a total disaster! Hardly any cheese on the lasagna, and a very small portion like 2 layers. My vegetarian spaghetti the server suggested was dry hardly any sauce and my vegetables were almost raw. The bread and salad was good but the coffee afterwards was cold. The server Katie was very tentive until after we got out meal, we hardly saw her after that, and we stood by our table with our jackets on waiting and waiting and waiting for her to come with the bill. So we will never be back.
My wife and I were visiting Banff this past weekend and decided to give this location a shot. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The location was quite good with my wife having a view of the mountains from her seat. The food tasted great and the service was excellent. The value was really what blew us away. We each got a meal which comes with soup or salad, bread with butter, the meal itself, ice cream and we each ordered a drink for under $60 before tip. We will definitely be back!
Visited the restaurant in early november (during off season) so it wasn't busy, my Gf and I had been seated and had waited 20 minutes before leaving. We didn't have a "hello", "would you like a drink", or even eye contact from our server assigned to our table. We went to the pub next door and were quite delighted and felt welcomed. Just be wary if you plan to go.
Nice big place for a meal in Banff. It has all the usual stuff like spaghetti and pasta and a good collection of drinks and kids menu. Even on a long weekend they were able to accommodate us a party of 12 with 45 minutes wait while others were not even trying. Service was efficient and good. I will definitely visit again.
There’s a long wait to get a table-45mins to and hour easy! So visit them and reserve a table in advance.
This place offers a great deal- you get a choice between soup/salad + main course + ice cream for the price of the main course you choose.
They also serve bread with butter to begin with. The place is really economical and the portions are also nice.
I had issues with the LIIT’s which tasted like lemonade (i.e. No alcohol in them) so we had to send them back. Our server made sure we were served the right drinks and had the bar tender correct them for us.
Coming to the food, the bang bang shrimp Is AWESOME, you must order those. I had the carbonara and my partner had the chicken parmigiana. They tasted decent. Their french onion soup wasn’t fresh- I could just taste powder in it.
The icecream was a pistachio chocolate ice cream and was really nice. I just didn’t like the fact that we had to wait for so long + the french onion soup was bad.
This place is amazing, the food was out of this world the value is perfect and its rite in the middle of Banff. I would highly recommend anyone in Banff check this place out.
Service was great and attentive. The minestrone was delicious as usual. But, to my disappointment, the carbonara sauce was bland. I had to add garlic butter, that was meant for the bread, to make it more flavorful. I didn't send the plate back because I didn't want to wait and everyone else was finishing their meal. Don't plan on returning and not worth the 40 minute wait.
Twice I visited this place and twice I was amazed with the waiter who presented herself/himself well. Did not think of taking photos but was impressed with how the waiters explained everything. This place is worth every buck coz I left the place so full
Had been to the Toronto location before so decided to visit here in Banff expecting about similar quality food. It was nothing but disappointments.
Ordered spicy beef sauce and alfredo with fettuccine.
Spicy beef sauce tasted as if straight outta can like many have written on this page. It could have been canned tim hortons chili from amazon for all I know. The alfredo was slightly more decent, but the size of the pasta noodle was such a random mixture. We were genuinely concerned if it's all the left over cooked pasta noodles thrown in together. Pasta sauce could have been less blend with more Parmesan but we did not get any, nor were we offered ice cream included in the meal.
Good service and good food! Do check them out! I ended up only getting starters which were great! The wings were on spot! Asked the server for ranch sauce and she brought it right away!
If you're visiting Banff and looking to dine on a budget, I'd highly this place. My friends and I grabbed the ravioli lunch specials. It came with bread, a choice of salad or soup, a beverage, and ice cream - all for $13.95 pre-tax. The ravioli and spumoni ice cream were absolutely delightful. As others have mentioned, the restaurant has a very cozy vibe to it and offers excellent service!
The staff and food were really good. The waiter was very gentle and friendly. The prices are equivalent to competitors, like Earls. They could serve craft beer and show better pasta options.
Holy smokes! I swear I used to love this place! But holy hell. What a horrific service. We have no servers.really guys? Banff location, huge location and zero proper stuff. Grow the hell up or close up. Not everything is a covid excuse.
If you come to Banff, I 100% recommend the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant. It's cosy and has a vintage feel to it. The choices are fantastic! And the best part, it won't bore a hole in your pocket. You will have to reserve your place though as there's usually a 45mins - 1hr wait for walk-ins but trust me when I say it worth it. Our waiter was Dalton and he went over and beyond to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Not worth the money. Ordered baby back ribs and lasagna.ribs were so dry and hard that smothered with regular barbeque sauce. Lasagna looks like a store bought and no flavor. Spend your 60 dollar somewhere else.
Honestly, the food is great. So is the service. Everything I ordered was correct and tasted very good. The reason why I’m giving four stars though is the very, very long wait for both seating and food. Pros outweigh cons, in this case, though.
I love this place. Friendly staff and great flavors. OSF gives you a all in meal for a great price. Great way to end a awesome day on the hill, carb load.
They have lots of pasta and Italian dishes to choose from. Their set menu includes an appetizer, side salad, main dish, drinks and a complimentary bread!
Nice staff and easy access from Banff avenue. If you’re looking to get full without spending too much, This Is The Place!
One of the best things about the old spaghetti factory is their uniformity.it’s so reliable! The entrees are always affordable & tasty! I love the chicken parm, it always comes out with a healthyyy layer of cheese (yum). I love that everything is included, you certainly leave with a full stomach! Perfect for budget travellers/ families. It does get quite busy, arrive early so you’re seated by the time you’re hungry! Service is friendly & prompt once you’re in, I always go back!
Food is great - but sometimes the servers are a little forgetful. Our little guy didn't get his order until the end of our meal, and we weren't comped for it.
I try to stop here every time I am in Banff. Unfortunately the OSF in downtown Calgary is absolutely horrible, but that leaves me excited to visit when in Banff! Staff are friendly, food is always excellent. Be ready for the garlic butter that goes with your bread! Yum! They also have a great drink selection for really great regular prices (most are under $8 and have a huge selection of flavours, fruit purées and slushes!)
Cheap-ish for a place that's at a major tourist destination. Generous portion and their salad-main-dessert-coffee combo is actually good for the prices you pay. However, the taste of food is less than memorable. Not terrible, but not memorable either. I recommend walking in there with truly starved tummy.
My son said he had the best lasagna ever! The prices were great especially since the meal included the soup/salad, bread and garlic butter, and ice cream!
This is my wrost experience in old spaghetti factory to unluckily get an unhappy server. We came in at noon and only three table guests were there. We ordered two spaghetti and the server didn't even ask to put the black pepper for us and keep ignoring at least three time when we put our hands up as she passed by. The sauce is so insufficient on the spaghetti and the whole dish just look so plain after mixing, which is not a big deal after asking for extra sauce. Two stars only for my love to old spaghetti factory at other location but I won't come back to this restaurant again.
Erin our sever was very friendly, and very attentive. The food was excellent and very quick service. Would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely return.
I have had the pleasure of dining at The Old Spaghetti Factory in banff numerous times. The staff are always friendly, the prices are phenomenal when considering how expensive banff is normally. The food is always delicious and exactly what you would expect. They are always busy, and sometimes waits can be long but, the waits are expected and you are informed of this when you arrive.
If you have allergy your going to LOVE this place. I have a extremely severe nut allergy and the staff and manager went the extra mile. They went as far as showing me the ingredients/recipes for everything that I ordered, Ive never had a place to do that where they literally showed me what it was made with. With that being said I will now be a forever client to this location, I cannot thank them enough.
Fast service food was pretty good as well.been to italian restuarants that were a bit better but it wasnt a bad experience at all.and very in expensive for how much you got.or server was spot on for attentiveness.clean place and comfortable for a family dinner.
Each time we stay for more than a day in banff we make sure to eat at this location. Friendly staff that knows what they are doing and the food is great and relatively cheap. Waiting for the food is the only con I can think of.
This is our family's favorite restaurant chain. The food is always fantastic, the sides that accompany the entrees really round out the meals and the prices are very reasonable.
