The brownies were dry and had a disappointing taste. The rocky road cheese cake was also disappointing, I was very tempted to take it back for a refund.
However, my true distaste for here was the one and only washroom that had a slide latch. That means that everyone would have to use dirty hands to lock it and then open with hopefully cleaned hands (for those that even washed them).
The lock was not only the issue. It looked and smelled like the washroom had not been cleaned for quite some time. It's not surprising that shortly after visiting here, I was not well. My guts were in quite a knot.
I've tried the best langouste bisque in my whole life! Really nice sandwiches, the servers are really nice and the quotes on the walls makes the whole atmosphere, it's a must either if you are passing by or want to have s really nice meal!
This place is very cutely decorated with lots of food and beverage options however the service was extremely slow. We almost missed our rafting tour, because it took 20 minutes to get a sandwich made. We saw this happen to another individual while we were waiting as well. The Chicken and Brie Sandwich is tasty but the jam is SLATHERED on so maybe ask to go light on the jam.
Best iced caramel macchiato and cinnamon bun I’ve had in a while. If you get the chnace try the “ups a daisy wrap”. The staff is really friendly and they also have great music!
Food is amazing here and at Bear Paw Bakery. Every time we are in Jasper we make it a point to stop to get our fill of goodies. The white chocolate raspberry scone is amazing!
Incredibly disappointing. Based on the reviews I was expecting something special, and charming. The reality could not be further from that. It started with a terrible customer service experience. The server who took our order was incredibly rude. She couldn't even muster enough courtesy to make eye contact. She talked to us like we had committed some grave infraction. I don't think I've ever felt so unwelcome in an establishment. Maybe having mind-blowing baked goods would have softened the blow, but they were average at best. Cookie and croissants were hard. My son compared the cookie to chips ahoy - not what you'd pay fa premium price for. Perhaps we've just been spoiled in Edmonton by amazing bakeries like the Dutchess and Bon Ton. If you're used to really amazing bakery experiences like that, then save yourself some money give this place a hard pass.
Update: Decided to give it another try and boy of boy was I ever disappointed. Not only is this place overhyped by how good the baked goods are but the service was bad. The lady behind the counter couldn't care less about serving the customer and treated us like we were an inconvenience. Sorry but I just don't get why people like this place. Will definitely never try again.
The Big Bad Wolf sandwich was delicious and even by my “coffee snob” Australian standards the espresso was pretty good. Friendly service, good stop for a quick lunch.
The apple square is fantastic. The bakery is nice and have cozy seats and fireplace. Unfortunately a part off the staff is really nasty and grumpy. I visit this place four times last week and three of the times I met a very unfriendly and bored lady who took the order. So sad.
Possibly a relative to the Bear's Paw Café and by looking around at the menu and the decorations, I'm probably not mistaken. Very busy when I went in, and also didn't have what I wanted to eat. Hot chocolate was warm at best. I'm sure they would be great at first thing in the morning, when everything is fresh and plentiful, but I came in mid-morning so no doubt that my experience is somewhat tainted.
Only ok. Service was average, and staff seemed to be just there. Ordered a sticky bun, and it was below average, dry and not sticky. I was quite disappointed.
Everything was pretty fine. We hit this place up as a quick stop in the morning (as they open really early!) and got a few things before hitting the road. Chai and pumpkin spice lattes were over sweet and just ok, cupcake was not great, vegan peanut butter cup was yummy but tough to eat as all the peanut butter squished out the sides and banana loaf had some odd spicing. Staff were really great and the ambience inside was lovely, maybe caught them on a bad day?
We were hiking this morning, so didn't get to the Cafe till around 2. The online menu shows sandwiches for 8.95, but they are now 11.95. They were sold out of most bread selections, so made modifications. The sandwiches were good, nice flavor combinations. The chicken Thai soup was delicious, great flavor and not overly spicy. I would recommend the Cafe, but get there earlier rather than later in the day.
Cute little bakery in Jasper. They are known for their sticky cinnamon bun and it did not disappoint. But brie sandwhich was a bit too sweet. I suppose they are more of a bakery than a breakfast place. I saw other people come and buy lots of baked goods to take home.
Went here for breakfast and coffee hoping to knock out a couple hours of work, but the barista informed me they don't have WiFi. FIVE stars for the delicious veggie egg breakfast sandwich on a multigrain bun, the coffee was okay, the internet nonexistent.
A very young man tried to serve me. I asked if they have a cake available for someone's birthday. He said that any cake must be ordered at least 2 days in advance.
"Do you have a cake available that I can pick up today? " I repeated. He said no. When I asked to see a manager in the hope that he/she can offer more options, the young man claimed to be the manager himself and said that I can buy all the cut pieces of a cheesecake. When I asked about the price he did not know the price of the whole cake, and he said the price of of one piece wrongly only to be immediately corrected by a lady working in the background and seemed to be very experienced in the shop.
He offered not 1 dollar of discount when he asked for almost a 100 buck payment for that cake.
I believe this unhelpful unfriendly young man lied about being the manager.
Yummy pastries (tried the cinnamon bun - it's sweet, but has a complexity to it rather than just Boom-sugar). We also tried a salad; subbed the dressing for olive oil - the olive oil they provided was PHENOMENAL! Who'd have thought a little "bakery cafe" would have such great olive oil!?
Other paw has been a must-go place for me ever since I was a kid. I first got hooked on their pizza pretzels, and now that I'm also a coffee drinker, their cappuccinos have been added to the list. If you have a sweet tooth, try the raspberry white chocolate scone. You will not be disappointed!
Good choice of sweet or savoury homemade products. Choice of coffees (for the refill you have 3 different self service refills). Cashier very friendly, seating at tables or benches or lounge area. I loved it! No wifi (good for them!)
Looked packed when we went in but there staff were on point. For was good and drinks were simply amazing. I didn't think the sandwich would dill me up but I was spleasantly surprised. It was just the right amount. Will return.
Took 25 mins of waiting in line to place order. Only one person handling cash and bakery orders. This same young gentleman actually dropped the knife he used to slice one of the cakes on the floor and proceeded to put it back on the magnetic strip to use again. It took him a good 30 seconds to realize he needed to go and get a replacement. Same person used a pie lifter and replaced it to the same mag strip with cheesecake remnants without so much as wiping it off. On top of all this I ordered a cider for $4.25 thinking surely it would be fresh cider as it’s not difficult to make. No it was in fact a. 50 packet of powder from the grocery store…
Nice little place with friendly staff. Ordered the apple and brie panini sandwich to go. The sandwich itself was huge and we could taste all the ingredients.
Pastries are meh. Sandwiches were pretty disappointing. Coming from a bakery you would expect the sandwiches be made with fresh homemade bread. Neither of our sandwiches were - in fact they tasted old and looked like we’re made in an industrial kitchen. For a takeaway lunch, I’d recommend the sandwiches you can buy from the grocery store for half the price.
Expensive bagels - and not even better than Tim's. For more than double the price of a bagel at Tim Hortons, you would expect a fresher and softer bagel here, but that's not what I experienced. At 9am, they only had four bagels left! And they said they do not bake any more later, nor do they even toast your bagel. Ended up getting a couple bagels and buying cream cheese and butter at the grocery store and heating them up at the hotel.
A huge variety of delicious baked good and lots of lunch options! The general "vibe" is also wonderful (Edmontonians think Remedy!). Also lots of drink choices. I actually prefer it to the original location!
This bakery was a bit of a mixed bag experience the cashier that took our order was very sweet. However we got there in early afternoon for some lunch and they had run out of bread for the day and then begrudgingly agreed to make my partners sandwich with a croissant which seemed like a painful request for them. The good news is the food we received was flavorful and hit the spot. So generally for me the vibe was a little off but it did the job in the end.
I love this place, it has lots of character. The desserts are fantastic, the coffee is good, and the atmosphere is terrific. I love the design and decor in the place. And the quotes in the bathroom are pretty cool.
I should have known as soon as they asked what size I wanted my cappuccino to be that it wasn't going to be that good. Very meh coffee, but the treats in the bakery are excellent!
Expensive for what you get. Jack and Jill is literally store bought PB & J on a sub bun for $9.the Peter Piper was so tasteless I thought I caught COVID. Good dill pickle though.
We go here every morning before skiing! Buy your lunch for the mountain too! Really great service. I think they also make cool cakes! Also love the name!
