Updated update 2023. With rents increasing 25% year over year, I'm disappointed with greedy landlords in Calgary. Still a quiet place to live, the office staff is great, but many renters are being priced out of the market. Original post: I have lived in apartments all my adult life (37 years). My last apartment in downtown Calgary was truly a nightmare. I now live in heaven. I moved here in August and am so happy with my choice, not only because it is close to work but because of the friendly staff, great atmosphere of the building and neighbours and the abundance of friendly furry friends who also live in the building. The apartment is just the right size and has all the amenities I need. My friends and coworkers tell me how relaxed I seem now and I do owe it all to The Pointe. I look forward to living here for a long time.

These guys are wonderful to deal with, they made me feel like I was at home from the day I came to look at my new apartment. Thank you so much Maria and Buchi!

I rented here for 2 years when I was living there, there was a really strong smell of cat urine.
I was told the carpet was changed in 2020 and no pet was there since but my 5lb dog. My dog does NOT pee cat urine and could never do the mess that was on the back of the carpet.

My husband does flooring and has been for over 30 years and he told them about this mess and I have pictures but they still charged me for an extra deoderizer for the carpet and still saying it was my dog.
If you smell any kind of pet urine let the office know ASAP or they will charge you for a pet mess yours didn't make!

Updated: :

Things were fine in the den until my grandchild was over in that area and you could smell the CAT urine. I HAVE A 5 LB DOG.
There was lattice on the balcony for what reason when we moved in? Because we were told the lady before had a cat.

If you were unaware of this person having a cat that is not my fault and shouldn't of had to pay for CAT URINE in the carpet.

Had a good experience with all the staff including maintenance. They all care and The Pointe is lucky to have them.

I can’t even explain how great my mom and I have been treated here at The Point. My mom has now passed, but I have no intention of ever leaving here.

The management and staffs are extremely exceptional, friendly, accommodating. I lived here for years and I never had a chance to regret my stay. Thanks to Eysill the manager. I really recommend The Ponte.

Been living here for about 7 months.to be frank there could be some inconveniences when it comes to water shut offs and so on, despite that they always find a way to fix things.management is great, neighbours are friendly.i don’t really pay much attention to the things that go wrong, at the end of the day this is my safe place to go at the end of the day and i’m grateful for my home.totally recommend living here.

I am very happy with Eysill Hernandez because she is very kind to people. This way, I will always recommend The Pointe if somebody is looking for a space to rent. Also, Pascal Prosser - I have been in Canada for 34 years and I never met a person this friendly, or a handyman like him. Thank you for the service. I really appreciate this!

I have been living here for about half a year now and I love it! Being a new Alberta resident and young I was unsure of where might be a good, clean, and safe place to live and The Pointe has been great. The maintenance men are fantastic and so kind, the rental office ladies have been understanding and courteous and overall its fantastic. It may be a bit of an older building but beyond that it is well run by amazing people.

This is a great place to live! Been here
5 months now and love it. Great location location and great apartment for the price!
The building is a bit older but it's well maintained by management here. All of the staff and management have been beyond nice and helpful.

The hallways occasionally have a smell but honestly it doesn't come into the actual apartment so I don't mind. There's been a few water shut offs for a couple of hours here and there however that just goes to show that maintenance is upkeeping this place and trying to prevent any major problems so it's much appreciated.

Neighbors have been great, very friendly and courteous. The crime rate in this area is low, feel very safe at night, and I don't worry about my car being broken into.
This is one of the best lower income places I've seen.

Olivia from the office was very helpful. We just signed our lease and are very excited to move to applewood!

Lived here for over a year, was great but now it's getting really noisy. Tenants with kids who scream all day on weekends and evenings, tenants with modified muffler, upstairs neighbors that jump and pound on your head past 9: 30 pm

This property was a great place to live 1 1/2 years ago. New staff working in the office here now are terrible and need to be told that there is garbage everywhere. It’s supposed to be smoke free as of January 1/22 and no change there as people continue to smoke on their balconies and Julie in the office does nothing about it. Very disappointing as it was a great place to live prior with a staff who cared.
Update: July 25/22
There is a new director here & still no change regarding the property. People continue smoking on their balconies. There are cigarette butts on the floor of the underground parking. Cigarette butts accumulating on the driveway to the u/g parking and about 900 cigarette butts on the ground below my balcony. 2nd hand cigarette smoke goes into the apartments of non smokers. I’ve reported and witnessed a woman smoking on her 4th floor balcony above my suite and the director tells me she can’t do anything unless she sees this person. We are 7 months into a no smoking on the property policy set by the condo board and it is not enforced by the management company they hired. A walk around the property and you will see cigarette butts everywhere and people smoking away. Throw in the occasional marijuana smoker as well. People have company over and let them smoke on their balconies. It’s time Weidner finds a way to enforce the “no smoking”.

I would like to give a special shout out to the maintenance men at the Pointe. JR & Carlos are awesome.
I recently had an issue with my dryer. I heard both of them in the hallway & asked JR if he could come in & take a listen. He was able to fix it which saved me a call to the office to place a work order for it.
They are always so polite & eager to help me when needed.

This is the worst place I've ever had the displeasure of renting. Over charging on parking and double dipping on pet deposits and rent. They also try to enforce professional carpet cleaning, which is against the Residential Tenancy Act. So many people fell victim to this illegal charge. You're allowed to clean the carpets yourself. I successfully won that complaint with the RTA board. They replace broken appliances with old barley working appliances.
It is suppose to be a none smoking building, but their own maintenance man who lives on site smokes in his suite. The entire second floor would reck of cigarettes. So absolutely disgusting.
I was harassed by a possible tenant a few weeks back while taking out the garbage as I closed the door upon my exit. This incident left me feeling incredibly unsafe in my home. Management simply said "thank you for not letting him in the garbage room". No looking into the information provided, nothing.
The site also has next to no visitor parking because the majority of the spots are taken by residents as they don't want to pay the $30/35 a month for a spot. They tell the owners they will tow and nothing happens.
Lastly, the parking lot is a safety hazard. No one follows any common sense and in the 2 years I lived there I was almost hit numerous times as people don't pay attention and just drive. Management could put up a sign for safety to direct the flow with the two lanes that merge, but no. Just flat out unsafe.
We paid nearly $1,300 a month for a two bedroom in which we didn't get quite enjoyment due to inconsiderate neighbors stomping on floors. And piss poor embarrassing poorly managed appliances.
Renters beware. Look elsewhere for better accommodations. I would give negative stars if I could.

Great unless someone in the building doesn't like you, as there is next to no security past the outside doors and elevator. I had to move, after 6 yrs living there, due to constant break ins and bullying by other tenants, and no security for protection. I was told to get a security camera, but the other tenant just hacked it. After 4 months, and management continuing to allow such a person residency, after her roommate was evicted for hacking my phone, and breakins (while I'm sleeping) continued, aswell as constant false accusations by this person, and 4-5 lock changes, management gave me an eviction notice for not bringing them a key (because I didn't feel safe)! And she stays? Needless to say, I Moved. What really disappointed me, was their lack of supporting those with disabilities to feel safe in their own homes. As these break-ins triggered my ptsd.
After switching from letting us pay debit, to strictly online payments they take from our account, they started accumulating more revenue with late rental fees, but could they invest in any security? No.

Great place to live, I have already recommended to several people. It's quiet and it's exactly what I was looking for in an appartement. My dog is welcome, and I am very comfortable here. Location is great as well.

I have found the management very caring and quick to respond to any issues! I thank them for their support in addressing issues that arise! Great place to live! Thank you!

Nice apartments, Eysill the manager is fantastic, but the companies Weidner online application process is the worst, most user unfriendly, confusing, unclear, non-functioning piece of software I have ever encountered. Contract signing would not work on my android phone or tablet had to use a PC. Very poor communication and an extremely frustrating process to rent an apartment.

Great place to live with family, calm and quite with friendly people.i could have given 5 start but the biggest disadvantage is if you are a vehicle owner the insurance will go up at least $50, apparently you are living in a high collision area, trust me when i say it.never had a speeding ticket or an accident claim in my life.but the postal code has made me a dangerous driver. I think they should reduce 50 dollars from my rent for something that i'm not responsible for.
