I have used this rental company for my property for 4 years and they have been great working with, they place your property up at fair market value, tend to the needs of the renters and take full control needing no intervention whatso ever.

Don’t do it.
Choose boardwalk, avenue living any other company.
Trust me.they don’t take care of any of there properties and they are the most in organized company I have ever rented from.

Unprofessional. First I called the office shortly after 9 am and the receptionist sounded like she just got there and was rude and abrupt. Then I come from out of town to view an apartment and find out when I am there they planned a mass viewing. Had I known I would not have wasted my time and money to view something that turned out to be very small and smelled funky. No doors in the 2 bedroom only ground floor windows. The other suite had no balcony. I told Robin I needed the suite for November 1st and she said well if it’s still available October 16 you can apply. Whatever happened to giving your current landlord proper notice? I will definitely avoid this management company even if I’m desperate. The whole experience was foul.

If you expect responsibility from this place - in vain. I never would deal with this property management again. Irresponsible stuff, who is terrible to deal with. Expect failure

Since live been a resident in Red Deer for a while, I haven't encountered a landlord with this sort of arrogance and prejudice who makes people's lives miserable.

I have owned several homes, I would never trust this company to manage a garage let alone my house. I have never dealt with such an incompetent company. Watch your invoice for extra charges. I suspect the 5 stars are from friends. Honestly, be careful when dealing with this company.

We had to use the Realty Store to rent our our home last fall after the market crashed and we weren't able to sell our house (a stressful time for us as we were moving as well). The Realty Store found excellent tenants quickly and their management fees were very fair. They responded to questions immediately and dealt with the tenants concerns quickly. All around Tamara and her team are very knowledgeable and responsive. Would highly recommend The Realty Store to owners and tenants.

The majority of the the houses I've come across are either listed as foreclosure and are falsely listed because they're not in foreclosure or are either two or three years old.

This place is good. I have used them to rent out my unit for a few years now, and they take care of everything. I love to read the bad reviews because they are all people that I would never want to rent out my unit to. Keep up the good work, guys!

I've rented a house from this Property Management company for 4 years. They have been fair to deal with and have pleasant and competent staff. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a rental to check their website and grab a property if it suits your needs. Conveniently located with ample free parking. No language barriers. Reasonable hours of operation and have an after hours line in the case of an emergency.

Seriously, avoid this place at all costs! The Realty Store has no respect for your rights as a tenant. We rented a space for 6 months and twice they had people enter our unit without proper notice. In addition, I came home once to find one of their staff walking around outside the door and then when he saw me there he asked to come inside to check something. If I hadn’t come home I’m fairly certain he would have just gone in. They will try to charge you for things that are not on the lease agreement so if you do rent from these guys make sure you understand what you are responsible for and don’t allow these guys to cheat you out of money. I will say that their maintenance manager, Ken, is great to deal with. Unfortunately he’s the only one as far as my experience went.

The realty store has to be one of the most unorganized companies I have ever dealt with. We were moving from out of town and were unable to see the place beforehand. They were extremely uneducated about the unit they were trying to rent. Informing us they were not sure of the size and that we would have 2 parking spaces for the unit (we discovered it was 1 space after moving in). A lot of the pictures they use in postings are not necessarily that of the place you are going to view. You have to be careful with them upon getting your security deposit back. They will 100% try and sneak any little charges in that they can. I will second a few of these posts in saying that the maintenance manager, Ken, can be quite pleasant to deal with. But outside of him the entire company seems to be a terrible combination of uninformed and shady employees.

We moved into a place that they are agents for. 3 weeks. Still no running water. Could anyone direct me to the adjudication companies here in Alberta, where we can report this officially. It is amazing how many scammers operate here, stealing from the tenants as well as the landlord.

Either i have the illusion of ownership if i was somehow able to "buy" a house or i pay rent.cuz "no sir your credit is not quite an acceptable number, you have been denied the loan with the $800/month payments" so rent it is! $1000/month, I was accepted immediately. So now I can save (somehow) till I'm 80 years old when houses are a billion dollars and try to buy one.

Was actually a big scam. Live and learn folks. This place will take all of your money with no return. Do not use them for any renos/repairs. I got taken advantage of at every turn. Not a fan at all.

Extremely disappointed in the apartments managed by The Realty Store. I've now seen 4 apartments and each building and unit were filthy, and not maintained at all! Their advertisements are misleading. The pictures of units are not at all anything like the actual apartments. It's false advertising. The apartments you think your going to see are not what what's pictured on the ads. Buildings are unkept as are the units. Definitely would not rent from them or recommend them.

DO NOT BOTHER RENTING FROM THE REALTY STORE IN RED DEER, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FIRST NATIONS. THEY WILL PULL YOU IN TO VIEW, AND THEN SPIT YOU OUT WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE APPROVED. I BELIEVE THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING TOWARDS NATIVES, AND NATIVES WITH AGGRESSIVE LOOKING DOGS. BUT MY DIGS ARENT AGGRESSIVE. IF WE END UP HOMELESS, ITS THANKS TO THE REALTY STORE.

I had a viewing scheduled for a rental and they called me the day of the viewing to remind me of the appointment. I thought this was great until I waited and waited at the house. When I called them back to see if they were running late the receptionist got very rude, telling me that she had personally called me an hour ago to tell me that the house was already rented. I informed her that she didn't call me and she got real mad telling me she did so and then hung up! I guess it is a good thing that I didn't rent from you and never will! Definitely not customer friendly! I will make sure and tell everyone I meet about my experience with the Realty Store!

I have been renting with the Realty Store for a year now and have nothing but amazing things to say about them! Nicole + all the staff that works there are absolutely amazing and easy to deal with! I have never had an issue living here with the unit and they do an amazing job on outside maintenance to make the place look incredible. If I were to rent again I would definitely be renting from them! I just bought a house and that is the reason I won't be renewing my lease.

Terrible rental company. I just left a property after over 2 years of never being late on rent. An under floor heating line went in my basement while I was there costing me over 600 dollars for something that wasn't my fault. When I left I had the place cleaner then it was when I moved in. I overlooked 2 drawers and under the sink in the basement. It would have taken about 10 minutes to clean. When I get my damage deposit back they deducted 114 bucks and gave me an invoice from some bogus cleaning company. Not to mention the five star reviews on here are from staff. Don't rent from these clowns.

I have known and worked with the their team for a few years and they are always top level in everything they do. I recommend them if you want to rent a home or have them manage your property for you.

I have had the pleaser of working closely with both Nicole and Val in the office over the years. I have sent many references to Nicole for prospective tenants and they have came back confirming the great service they get from all the office staff. The Realty Store itself always has a great variety of rentals and seem to accommodate almost everyone! Keep up the good work!

When I first moved in to my new place a year ago, there were a lot of miscommunications in their office and issues with the property. Since then, the team and I have worked out a really great give and take relationship that I appreciate. They had 4 new windows put in this summer which has made our lives more comfortable and safe. The contractors who come to fix things are always awesome and do quality work. I am grateful that we took the time to iron things out. Thanks guys.

This company is terrible to deal with, they are unprofessional and I am extremely disappointed.

We moved into a home that was dirty (food in the microwave still). The man who did our walk through said they would give us a credit.that never happened. We were never late on rent and always paid and were extremely good tenants. When our lease was up we brought up the credit and nothing was done. They gave me half of my damage deposit and said they would discuss the credit before giving us the rest back (I spent 4 days bleaching and scrubbing the house because I’m a decent human and wanted to leave it in great condition for the next people and because there is a pandemic) 3ish months later we got an email saying that the fact we brought this up 2 years after we moved in was unacceptable and they won’t do anything about it. I bo longer care about the move in or the money but the lack of organization and professionalism is unacceptable. The only pleasant person in this company sadly is the receptionist

The office staff are polite and friendly. Matthew is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is a very caring and compassionate person.

The staff was great in helping us find a place to move to here in Red Deer - left us with a great experience in the hectic decision to move our household from Edmonton. Many different alternatives for paying the rent each month, and I am sure that if we ever need to have someone come in and repair anything it will also be a great time.

Upon hours of research, I chose The Realty Store to manage my property. Matthew was the most informative and transparent of the property managers I had interviewed. The rental agent who showed me the unit was kind and is always there to answer any questions I might have, maintenance guy was very easy to work with when doing my walk through and let me add any silly little thing I deemed necessary on my move in inspection, and the receptionist has been awesome every time I've gone in to pay my rent.

As along term customer of the Realty Store I have had a very positive, professional experience. When you rent a property you sign a contract that out lines what is expected from the tenants and the Realty Store.

Nothing changes when it is time to move out, if you stayed with in the terms of the rental agreement you get your deposit back. If you decided to not live up to the rules associated with the rental you could potentially loose a portion of your deposit (that's why deposts are required).

There are a lot of comments on this review where its pretty clear the people didn't live up to their end of the contract and then decided to lash out and try and do damage to a business instead of taking personal responsibility.

I hope people who read these reviews realize where the majority of these negative review are from people acting like children who need to take personal responsibility for their actions and also understand the expectations from renting some one else's home.

This crew has always has been fair to us, we have not always agreed in all situations but in the end we are still clients and happy to be.

The worst company you could rent from. We didn’t get our deposit back. They ended up asking us for more money. We didn’t do anything wrong to the townhouse, we got charged for ware and tare from the renters before us. We are paying for the cleaning of the place which is unfair because when we moved in the place was not cleaned for us. We had to live in the place for a year and a bit with a door that was hard to close and lock, also to even open sometimes we had to go to the back door. The weather strip on the door was a laugh, there maintenance guy couldn’t measure because in the winter when the guy cleared the snow with a snow blower we would get two little piles of snow inside. Of course had to pay more for heating but that doesn’t matter to this company.

The Realty Store is an incredible establishment. Unfortunately, this component of the Real Estate Industry is often overlooked and taken advantage of, though it is a 24/7 job for most staff members. The team that they have built throughout the years has been hand-picked very specifically to the roles of which are needed to run a business such as this one - and each employee is nothing short of an expert in their field. They never fail to comply with the rules and regulations, while also doing everything in their power to work in the customer's best interests! If you ever need guidance as a tenant, owner, or investor, these are the people to talk to.

The Realty Store is a terrible business. I would suggest to anyone looking to rent a home to stay FAR away. They are extremely SHADY to work with. The receptionist is incredibly condescending and rude as well as their manager has no idea what is going on. They do not return calls or emails. They do not send any invoices and make up bills for you to pay once you have moved out. I am so embarrassed that this company is running in Red Deer. Hopefully with enough complaints & business loss they will re-evaluate how they run things.

I had my dishwasher and washing machine malfunction and they had someone in immediately to fix both problems professionally. Paying rent in the office has always been a pleasant experience. From the leasing agent who showed us the property to the maintenance and front desk staff this company has been a very positive experience!

The amount of work put into our project.
Policy and procedure is a constant teaching throughout this newly found “Sense of Team”.

The Realty Store is the ABSOLUTE WORST place to rent from. What I have been through since I moved into one of the properties they manage has been so much that I feel tired just thinking about how long this review will be. First off, the person who moved out before me had 3 dogs and a cat, and most definitely paid a monthly fee to have these pets in this home. The day I moved in was a Friday and I had to take the day off of work to move, and try to find people who were able to help me move on a weekday. The appointment to do the walk through in my new place was set for 9 am and when I arrived here I refused to even do the walk through because I could clearly see that the home had not been cleaned AT ALL. There were mounds of dog hair in every corner, the counters had not even been wiped, the cupboards were FILTHY, the walls were smeared and the maintenance man (Ken) tried to tell me that we were going to do what he calls a “dirty move in” and that he would give me a minor credit of 100 to get the place cleaned up. The amount of work needed to be done was worth hundreds of dollars and I absolutely refused to move into the filth. I had to take my helpers back to my other place and waste a few hours while the new place was “cleaned. ” The general manager (Matthew) assured me that he had pulled 3 girls from other jobs to come in and clean, however, I would have to wait until 3pm! To come back to love in, 6 hours later than what I had originally planned for. When I returned, the place had barely been touched and was still a total disgrace and I had no choice but to move in because the day was wasting away. Because we were in such a hurry to get moving in, and because Ken kept dismissing the problems that I was noticing, the move in report was not completed thoroughly. The following is a list of just some of the problems I have been dealing with since moving in:
1. Light above sink not working and looking scary.
2. Stairs unfinished and cut my foot open.
3. Fan in upstairs bathroom not working, water stains on walls.
4. Amount of dog hair and dust that can be found throughout the house.
5. Broken pantry cupboard closure on left side.
6. Washer and dryer completely covered in dirt and dog hair. My clothes are coming out with hair on them. The dryer vent 4" flex needs to be checked and cleaned.
7. Leak into basement that is wrecking ceiling and PRESENTLY leaking into my storage closet in hall.
8. Eavestroughs need cleaning.
9. Chimney clean and inspection report before I can use inside fireplace. I must have this for insurance purposes as well.
10. Baseboards are not painted, only primed, and need to be painted so I can keep them clean.
11. The whirrly bird is bent off and not turning.
12. The shingles are badly damaged.
13. I would like the house tested for mold as I can tell that the moisture and wetness throughout the home is present and has been going on long term. My kids and I have all been sick already since moving in.
14. Downstairs shower does not put out hot water.
I will send more pics of the roof and eavestroughs later.
15. The garage needs a proper side door and I need a key to be able to get into it without having to open the entire garage door.
16. Duct system needs cleaning as it is blowing dog hair all over my house.
17. There was a cat abandoned at the home that will need to be rehomed before the winter. This is not my responsibility.
18. The flower beds and gardens in the yard were completely overgrown with weeds and I have now received a notice from City of Red Deer that says there are noxious weeds on the property that have to be removed by August 15. I wrote to Matthew and he told me that, yet again, this is my problem.

Matthew talks to me and treats me like an idiot when he does respond to my emails. I am probably the best tenant they could ask for and this is what I have to deal with. I am presently preparing a letter for the Better Business Bureau, as well as going in to the Red Deer Court House to see how I can deal with this situation. I have honestly never had such troubles anywhere.

Extremely professional and diligent! My property was rent out in two weeks. Very impressive on energetic manager and staffs to make the entire processes seamlessly. Definitely it is the number one choice for house owner from my eyes!

The Asst. Manager great guy.if you have any issues w your rental he gets it fixed asap.the owners of the rentals have to realize stuff gets old needs fixed. Would recommend for a rental in red deer.

Now that it finally let me post a review here I shall. These folks are good at their job. They go 100% by the book so there isnt any misunderstandings. If you are on that goes by the book and likes everything to be clear and concise, Realty Store is a good company to rent from. I should know, rented one place from them for 7 years.

I am currently employee of The Realty Store workings as the property manager. I have been very impressed by the team effort used at this office to enure that all client needs are met and immediatley dealt with. We have a wide range of properties and our clients, both owners and tenants, are dealt with in a prompt and curtious manner.

Working in the Gym industry everyday you meet many in need of a place to rent & live. I will always recommend to each one of my customers the Realty Store, before just renting from some unknown source. I personally have worked with Matthew and find him both courteous & professional. Finding a place for rent is one thing, finding the right organization to rent your home from is quite another. I give the Realty Store in Red Deer a 5 Star rating!

My dealings with The Realty Store has been very positive experience for the last 12 years. I live in a condo building the that the Realty Store manages and they do a great job. When I have a issue I call and all is taking care of. Nicole is beyond wonderful (10 stars). She gets things done. I have nothing but good things to say about The Realty Store. They are terrific!

I currently rent from them and they are the most inconvient property managers I've ever dealt with. Cant email money without a charge. Miss the first of the month and they will charge you late fees over the weekend when they are not even open to go pay it! Manager is condescending and speaks to you like you're an idiot. Front desk lady, however is very lovely and helpful! As soon as its warm, I will be moving out even though I love the property.
