Chose this place to take my 11 year old for a special 1 on 1 day. It was so much fun. We shared $75 dollars in tokens and $17 for a poutine and shake. I think that was about 3 hours. I told the hostess it was our first time there and if she could give us a run down of the experience and how the game time pricing worked. She was extremely pleasant, welcomed us, thanked us and gave us all the info we needed. She noticed I was squinting at the pricing sign and pointed me to an easier to see screen. While we were playing games another worker gave us each a free game of shooting hoops for no reason. It felt like we were being rewarded for having fun! It was clean and all the workers were really nice at every interaction we had from the hostess, the in between to the prize people at the end. There is a full on restaurant side too but we mostly went for the games. I was very impressed.
We held a Kick Off event at the Rec Room for our team, and it couldn't have worked out better. Aman, Scott and the crew we're amazing to work with, plus the food, and venue are simply amazing. We'll be back provided you liked us?
Good atmosphere, fun date night with significant other. The only downside of the night was when we ordered food. Being quite honest, I have never had a more unpleasant interaction. After standing in line for 5 minutes, we were finally next to order. We started to order and were making last second decisions, when all of a sudden the man at the front rudely dismissed us and asked the people behind us to order instead. Almost in shock by this, my partner and I just stared at each other in confusion and disbelief. Another 2 minutes went by and we proceeded to make our order. This is where things went south. My girlfriend and I work in the restaurant industry and are always the first to add a tip when the service meets our expectations. My girlfriend who felt quite disrespected was the one who paid and she made the decision to not tip. (I don’t know who would tip after being treated that way). The older gentleman (with greyish hair and a beard) who turned us away while trying to order immediately looked at the copy and started to make us feel super uncomfortable. Uttering things to himself, and saying stuff under his breath while looking towards our direction. My girlfriend asked what is he doing, and he mocking put his hand up to his ear and said “I can’t hear you. ” I wouldn’t be lying if we weren’t worried about him doing something to our food, so we kept an eye on him. We didn’t understand how you can expect a tip after treating people that way and causing a scene. This was very unfortunate since the rest of the night was very fun.
I’m not sure what is going on at the Rec Room, but the last 3 times I’ve been there, they’ve had no prizes that make you excited to earn tickets. I have 22,000 tickets to use and everything they have is either 1000 tickets or 130,000 tickets. I don’t want a 7000 ticket goblet… where are the Michael Korr wallets and the fun games to buy? !? The store is always empty and nothing worth playing for. Will keep my tickets to myself until they bring some good stuff back. Lose the crummy t-shirts
Honestly, this visit was not very good. Not sure if its the Pandemic or if management changed. The service was terrible. Never got any attention from my server.she was never around. The food was bland and tasteless. There was no chance of getting a drink at the bar cuz there wasn't anyone there at the centre bar. Over in the arcade area there was no hand sanitizing stations or anyone wiping down machines or visible trying to keep things clean. Once you make your way to the prize area to redeem your tickets collected.the shelves were bare and had no chance of being restocked. When I asked the people at the redemption desk they simply looked back with a empty stare and said. "oh, we had no idea it was going to be this busy. And shrugged it off". Very disappointing visit.
We took our daughter, son and bestie out, (three teens). We all had a great time! I was really impressed with the polite and friendly staff, delicious food, and cleanliness of the whole facility. We will definitely be back! ️
Went here to grab some food and I was treated horribly by the manager TEE. This is bad for business. I ended up paying for getting treated like a lesser man.
I love the rec room, always have. But this was the first time I went to the Calgary location and it was not great. It started off lovely but the end of the night, it left a sour taste for me. We ran out of credits around 11: 30pm so we went into the gift shop area to buy more and make sure they closed at midnight. The person working last night confirmed they close at midnight so I bought more credits to keep us playing until then. Not even 5 minutes later, they make all games unavailable without even telling us so we are walking around looking very confused. Many staff knew we were still in there passing by us but they did not care. Quite disappointed in this location. I have had no issues staying close to closing time in other rec room locations so we are very confused as to why we were basically forced out. If there are still paying customers and you confirm with them that the closing time is indeed midnight and then accept payment, then you stay open until midnight.
Very bad experience with the asian manager I bring my family to spend my day off there but he doesent allowed me because i am different and he is rude to me in front of my wife Is bad stafff never go back You should be professional Stupid manager
A lot smaller than i was expecting. The games kinda got repetitive after a while, in the sense that they were all very similar. But it was clean and the staff were helpful.
I went to rec room with friend and the manager there with name “TEE” was really disrespectful and mean. We simply wanted to use the point to pay for our food but this manager made a big deal about their policy and how I can’t use the points and I asked to talk to someone else because he was being rude and he threatened to call the police on us even after we paid for our food. Would not recommend anyone to try this.
Very bad service I was double vaccination and they doesn't allowed me The manager Asian is very rude and disrespectful You should put professional stuff to deal with costumer Bad stuff
Went with my grandsons and I was surprised how fun it was for me. I had a blast watching them and time went by quickly. I was expecting an hour of boredom but we were there for 3 hours! The bells and whistles were loud of course so be prepared. We opted to eat in the restaurant and were completely satisfied with our nachos and TLC platter we all shared. The only thing I wish was there would be massage chairs for the adults.
I had a blast, and the kitchen staff are extremely helpful and willing to coordinate for people with allergies (emailed in advance and got a detailed and very helpful response with recommendations from the menu and altered menu items to accommodate the allergies). I ended up not dining at the restaurant - got too focused on the games, haha!
I would have given it 5 stars, but it was packed with people waaaay beyond what it probably should have been for Covid-19 protocols. There were some posters asking patrons to sanitize games after use, but no instructions given verbally when we walked in. Also, the sanitizing wipe dispensers were placed far enough apart that you would get up from a game and new people would be there and playing before you even got back. I gave up with that and just tried to get some hand sanitizer every now and again.
Non-binary washrooms were not visible, so I’m not sure if they have any. This venue is extremely loud has lots of bright flashing lights. I had a good time, but a little overwhelmed. If you’re sensitive to lights or noise, or just tend to get overwhelmed by large crowds, plan to take some breaks on the upper level (has a pool table, what appeared to be another small eatery and some pinball machines). There are elevators and stairs to get from the main area to the restaurant (mid-level) and the upper level.
Went for my 12 year olds birthday. Just us as a family. The server we had was awesome but aside from that. The rest of our experience was awful. Although being a smoker isn’t the most glamorous thing to be doing I went for one outside close to the smoking area. But when I came back in I was yelled at by the manager for being too close to “her” doors. Although I feel I’m respectful in the fact that I don’t smoke I front of any establishment. Instead of asking me politely to move further away. She waited for me to come in. Yelled at me in front of staff and other patrons. Quite rudely. And on top of that. My 10 year old daughter spent all night throwing up from food poisoning. She ate the margarita pizza. Won’t go back. EVER!
Is there anything more joyful than watching a random child conquering an arcade game multiple times while your best friend can’t even come close? We laughed, we cry-laughed, we ate corn dogs and funnel cakes, and I won multiple jackpots. I will absolutely come again, in fact I have to go back to collect my best friend’s dignity, they absolutely left it behind.
So many awesome memories have been created here I still have my prizes that i won from here. I love how many game options there are. Another thing i love is how everyone there is very patient and respectful. There is also a lot of games so the lines are small when there is one. I would say the area is pretty good too considering it's close to a lot of things.
Always a fun time, wee bit pricey for the drinks but expected from cineplex. Wide assortment of games. Hope to see more goodies to exchange my tickets for but lots of options for little kiddos.
Oh my. Best Cobb salad I've ever had in my life, and I know what you're thinking. "Cobb Salad? Who cares about that? " Exactly. Also the games were decent. Obviously well used and could use some maintenance but overall an enjoyable arcade experience.
First time there- Games were great but unfortunately the food was awful my daughter burger was raw twice and the pizza was a greasy soggy mess and even the French fries were seasoned with some sort of blacking spice even wanted to get non acholic drinks and they were out and no milk for the kids as it was frozen just seams like staff were also running around not organized and a lack of communication between staff member in departments in all honesty the only good part was the games
Restaurant food was luke-warm and not very tasty. Games are mostly arcade shooters or kiddie games of chance. Fun for a few minutes, but gets old fairly quickly. Could use some pinball.
Great place to spend time with family and friends. Lots of fun. But if you are planning for dine in there please change your plans, the worse customer service from the staff. I went there with my friends and we waited for someone to take order, after 20 min we stopped a girl and asked her to take order instead of taking order she said uou need to change your seat near to the server so we can help you. I was like what! Are you kidding me. After that she took the order and went with attitude lime we are asking for free food there. What a joke on customer service.
Strongly recommend management to talk to these staff members and ask them to understand their job.
Today was my family’s first time visiting The Rec Room & I’m torn. We were there as soon as it opened but no one was there at the 1st set of tills. Went to each self serve kiosk & all of them were out of service. Eventually, the only friendly staff we encountered noticed we needed help & told us where we could go get some bracelets.
Everyone else was extremely short & cold with their responses & seemed like they didn’t want to be working.
However, it was a large facility that seemed clean with a huge variety of games. Most were working but we did come across a few games that were out of order & some that took our tokens but didn’t let us play.
The biggest disappointment was the redemption prizes. For being so close after opening, the shelves were practically bare & what was left, was extremely cheap trinkets (I’ve been to a lot of arcades & this by far was the worse).
Our kids did have a great time but I doubt we’d return.
It is a really enjoyable time for the kids. Clean space. Value is pretty good for the games. Kids were disappointed in the prizes. I believe selection is down due to the shipping issues created by COVID. All and all a good thing to do for a few hours with the kids.
I go here every weekend with various friends that are available to go with me when I am in town. Never get bored or tired of the Games. Maybe I should open and Manage one as well. Because I can't get over this game place I go to when I am not on a road trip
I usually enjoy the rec room, however today I did not have a good experience and this only applies to three10. My kids enjoy playing games while I have a couple of drinks with friends and family. This afternoon there were 2 male bartenders at three10 that seemed to be inconvenienced with me ordering a drink while at the bar. I order a drink and walked over to the wait staff corner to grab myself a straw. A few minutes later, while my son was asking me a question the taller bartender impatiently interrupted my son and asked if I was ready to order a drink, although I already had a drink. I'm not sure if the bartenders were hungover or just hate their jobs. My kids had fun, however people that actually enjoy other people should be working here, considering it's not cheap.
Went for a birthday but was underwhelmed. Most games are mediocre. Price for games was decent. $25 got us more than enough credit to play what we wanted.
Pretty good time! All of the games seem to be in good working order and we'll maintained. Any of the games that were requiring attention were pretty quickly attended to.
VR was pretty fun. Fairly easy to get enough tickets for an okay prize in the way out. Prizes are a nice mix of small toys that would appeal to children and are within their ticket range to larger prizes for adults.
Didn't have a chance to sample any food or drinks but prices looked decent and the restaurant looked good.
It's a cool place, but a lot of the games are out of ordered. I've been here a fee times and its always super packed. For such a big place you'd think they could have more games. I've never been able to spend all my credits because it's either to busy or there isn't anything left to play.
The food, drinks and service has REALLY gone downhill. I know covid has had a huge impact on the industry. But when the cocktails are so meh, and the food was honestly, something I hope to never experience again.
The honey-lime wings sounded delicious, but we're just dripping in honey (less a wing sauce and more just a bottle of honey. I couldn't even taste the lime,
The calamari was worse than what I could buy frozen at the grocery store- just tasteless.
The spicy chicken sandwich was disgustingly sweet, not at all spicy and just all around disappointing.
The burger, was inedible. Bun? Gross. Burger? Small and gross. Guacamole? Bland
We spent a solid 5 hours in this place. They are taking good precautions for cleanliness regarding covid and sanitation. The main floor was clean and it was obvious that people were regularly walking the floor to ensure that.
The food at the restaurant wasn't great, and the waiters/cooks were clearly very unorganized. They brought us the wrong food and drinks the first time around and had to correct themselves. Food is at a great price, but isn't amazing. Dry burgers, flavorless dishes.
The bathroom was yucky. There was a bloody tampon string on the floor, and broken glass shards as well. The urinal was overflowing in the men's restroom. Photo booth was out of order and some of the arcade games were broken, making us have to go get refund on our points.
Very fun place though. The friendliest staff! Spent a ton of time here with lots to do. Think we just came on a rough night.
Love this place, come here a Lot with the lady. I won the jackpot on wheel of fortune tonight, almost 600 tickets! But it didn't pay out.went to one of my favorites, the ticket roll grab, got the 500 roll! My lucky night right? It didn't pay out.again. After some arguing with the manager she tells me that they've been having issues with wheel of fortune.so don't waste your money on that! Otherwise after the gripping, they got me the 500 tickets, but to bad I know that both my favorite games are busted and just ripping us off.
I am thoroughly disappointed with this RecRoom. They have removed the Maximum Tune 5 Machines and have overall killed my main reason for coming to this place. They have killed a major community by removing these machines and they refuse to acknowledge that fact.
Corporate apparently decided to remove the only Maximum Tune 5 machine in the city and move it over to Burnaby, with nothing to replace it with. Not only are they cutting off an entire community that comes here specifically for this game, they're bringing the machines to a city that already has access to it elsewhere. It's a shame that this company cares more about money than it does about its loyal customers.
It makes zero sense to me why on earth you guys removed Maximum Tune. My boyfriend and I live in Edmonton and we drive down to Calgary about once a month or once every other month JUST to play Maximum Tune there. We spend over $100 on that game ALONE each time we come. We even became regulars with the staff which was great considering we live in another city. I was heartbroken to find out from my friends that you removed Maximum Tune. We will not be coming back, UNLESS you get Maximum Tune 5dx+/6. Which is a shame because some of my favourite memories were playing that game with my friends, and meeting new people and seeing the regulars come by. You lost a lot of people by getting rid of those games. Here's hoping you're getting Maximum Tune 6/5dx+ when it comes out then lol. I'd love to just even have a reason as to why you got rid of them. I love the building and I love the staff, I'm just shocked that they got rid of such a popular and rare game. I'm going to have to start going all the way to Vancouver to play now!
