The Rec Room

Halloween bash - was so crowded and the lineups were so so long that it made it hard to enjoy the evening. Sent me email to do survey and I was supposed to get a 10.00 free gift card which I never received despite filling out the survey. I don’t trust businesses that promise something and fail to deliver. So that’s the end of doing further business with the rec centre and I spent a lot of money purchasing tickets for my family.

What a concept! Tucked away in a corner of West Edmonton Mall with an entrance that opens the public to a games center with creativity and imagination. Must try their dining experience one day.

Kids have fun. Basically a casino atmosphere for kids. The prices are insanely high though.the amount of credits each games takes is insane. Make sure you have a few hundred per kid if you want to spend more than 30-45 minutes there. $50+taxes got 365 credits and they were gone within 30 minutes.
Food isn't anything special but is priced as though it is.

I ordered the shrimp and salmon dish and it was the worst dish I've ever been served, cold, no flavor at all, the shrimp was rubber. I ordered this dish for the shrimp and I couldn't even eat all the shrimp 6-7 shrimp. Tried adding their (fish and chips ranch sauce) to add flavor and it tasted a bit better. Had a terrible stomach ache after my meal. Very disappointed. I should have returned it to the kitchen. Kinda looks good on picture but it's deceiving, didn't enjoy it at all. Don't recommend this dish - I even made everyone in our party try it and they said the same.

Weve been here before, this time my kids were very hungry. 20 mins, I asked the hostess when we would be able to order, she said he would be over right away, waited another 5 minutes, then left when he served a table that came in after us.

This is a great, family friendly spot! I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the restaurant but the food was actually amazing and the service was top notch!

One of the best arcade around this city, they have some of the top prizes to save up for and they constantly add stuff to their collection! Some of the games is already slowly showing wear and tear however.

Found bugs in my glass. The waitress laughed it off. Servers at bar will ignore you and serve others. Waited 10 minutes both times before, I'm assuming its a supervisor/manager told them to serve us.
Games are the only reason I would consider visiting again.
But I'd reccomend heading to the South Common location.

Just visited rec room tonight around 9pm till 10: 30pm and pretty disappointed. Seen one employee the whole time, few machines broken took credits, no idea where or who can help get lost credits back since the administration was closed. Floors needed a vacuum, and lots of empty glasses everywhere.even in some of the shooter games!
Was really hoping for a better experience:/ not sure now if I'd go back.

There was a private party upstairs so we couldn't order our drinks up there, had to go downstairs. Kind of felt exclusive and not a very good system. The foosball also gives you barely any time for each game. They're definitely making money as their main goal rather than trying to have a good service for people.

The standards at the Rec Room are nonexistent, it seems as if the staff doesn’t care or just doesn’t know how to take care of the restaurant. When I ordered one of my drinks the lime slice was mouldy and when I informed the manager they didn’t seem like they knew what to do. The food I got was cold and it just wasn’t very enjoyable at all. The games were the best part of the night but half of them were out of service and the floor was just dirty and dirty glassware was all over the place. All in all they need to train their staff and managers about customer service as well as actually cleaning the place up.

Came in with my family at 5: 30 to get a table and was told all the tables were on “ 2 hour reserve”. We decided to sit at the bar and make do with our 2 boys playing in the arcade and when they’re food came we had to squeeze in at a dirty table to eat as fast as possible so no one would say anything. It’s 8: 30 now and still no one has sat at any tables. On top of that, they advertise a pizza a beer special on home game nights and even though the oilers are home to the flames they won’t honor the deal despite an ad displaying it 10’ away. Very frustrated.they’re lucky they have such good servers.
