Quite dissatisfied with the massage I got last week. I asked for deep massage and it was not deep at all. I’m going to really miss Carl who was my regular therapist. He was 5/5 everytime.

I have been a faithful and devoted customer of The Self Centre since 2015. During those 7 years I have had excellent massages from several different therapists. In 2019 I started seeing Brittany Pretty whom I can’t speak highly enough about. She is pleasant, professional, punctual and provides an amazing experience each and every time. The place of business is always clean, the prices are very reasonable and when I walk out the door, I can’t wait for my next appointment. Thank you to Lara and all of your wonderful staff! You deserve way more than the 5 stars that I can give you.

I have been to this location 3 times, the last of which I had a hybrid relaxing/deep tissue massage which is a testament to the therapists having excellent communication and tailoring the session to the specific needs you want to work on. I recommend Brittney, removed my neck and back knots, additionally they have hot towels and mint oil included with the massage and it is a nice extra touch. Located in a south-central part of the city in a quiet neighborhood with lots of free parking.

I had massage with Pamela and she is a miracle worker. Her therapeutic massage took my from being unable to breath and feeling like I had a broken rib to feeling totally amazing and loosening up my muscles so I could breath! I don't think I've ever booked a massage in advance, but I did with her after my appointment because she is so amazing.
As far as general experience there - it's great. Heated beds, soft sheets, music playing in the background. I highly recommend this place!

I had a wonderful 60 minute therapeutic relaxation massage at The Self Centre. My therapist, Brittany Pretty, was friendly, accommodating, and really helped me feel relief in my back. She used the perfect pressure and technique, and was even willing to answer my questions about muscles/share stretches to help with future pain and tension. She's the best! I plan on returning as soon as possible. The rate as well was very reasonable, and the fact that they do direct billing is so helpful. Highly recommend!

Came in and saw Cassandra recently. She is really good. The Self Centre has really made things easier in terms of paperwork by moving it all to online. Had a great experience and will be returning in the near future.

This was my first time at self center massage and i had such a wonderful experience. Brittany pretty is awsome she instinctively knew where i had a lot of tension in my upper shoulder and back and so she focused alot on that problem area for me.when my massage was done i felt like mountain where lifted of my shoulder and back. I 100 percent recommended this massage clinc and i cant wait to go back.

This is my favorite place to get massages. I see Carl who is a great RMT. He's strong enough to get down to deep tissue and even hurt me if I wanted, compared to other RMTs, some who I can barely even feel when getting a massage. He's also great in that he can chat with you for an hour if you want or he can be silent for an hour. He always makes sure to ask what you want a focus on.

The clinic itself is great too. Easy parking right out front. They accept my health benefits provider and do direct billing, making payment hassle-free. Also, all booking can be done online, so I can see the entire schedule at a glance and can book at my own pace.

Melissa pays excellent attention to your requests and do a perfect message to treat and relief the pain in the specified areas. She's the best massage therapist and I won't hesitate to refer her!

The staff at the The Self Centre Wellness are very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend The Self Centre.

For silicone cupping, I would recommend Yolanda Paradis. From a recovery perspective, myofascial cupping as helped me with my marathon training. In addition, Yolanda provides me with additional recovery advice that has helped me with my training.

If silicone cupping is not of interest, the Self Centre offers other types of massage therapy. For therapeutic massage, I would recommend Brittany P.

New to Self Centre Massage & Wellness? Pick Yolanda. You will not regret it. She is an absolute gem and an incredibly gifted massage therapist. Both myself and my husband have been seeing her for the past three years. She is punctual, insightful, listens and notes (evident with her clipboard in hand) all your concerns. There have been numerous times when she has gone beyond our time block to teach us stretches that will benefit those "cranky" areas, as she would say. Also, to all the expecting momma's out there, her prenatal massages are dreamy and dare I say, comfortable (hard to believe right? !). She brings a pregnancy pillow to the appointments to maximize on comfort. Do yourself a favour, and book with Yolanda. We will never go elsewhere (unless she relocates of course). Thank you Yolanda, for all you have done for us!

Melissa is amazing. She’s fantastic at gauging the feedback from my muscles and adjusting or isolating trouble spots with the ideal amount of pressure. After being on the table for an hour I find my aches and pains are diminished and the rest of my body is rejuvenated.

My massage with Leonora was great! She worked on the tensed areas and I will surely rebook for another one!

Kristy Nanise is #1! She's very knowledgeable and does her job wonderfully. You will come out of your massage feeling like a band new human!

I see Laura Acott and she is the best massage therapist in Edmonton that I've seen. She is really kind, friendly, and great at what she does. I have neck and shoulder issues and bad posture (hunching over a computer all day) and when I see Laura regularly I notice a huge improvement. The Self Centre is a great space, I always feel comfortable there, and I really appreciate the precautions they've taken with Covid. I love that I can sit safely in my car until I get a text when Laura's ready for me! I also really love the convenience of being able to book online. Front desk staff are always super nice and welcoming too. I would highly recommend The Self Centre!

I did not know how lucky I was when I was originally appointed Kirsty as my massage therapist. She is a professional and is superb at what she does.

Carl gave me the best deep tissue therapeutic massage I have ever had. I have been having trouble with my hip for about 10 years and have been to physio and chiropractors and I am consistently working on some way to improve it. I am 45 and generally have accepted some level of pain. I hoped for some relief with this massage but didn't expect to have my pain reduced by about 80%. Of course this lasted for a few hours and not forever but I was really impressed and am hoping to book again in a few weeks. Along with my more intensive workouts I hope to add massage to my routine too. Really it was eye-opening to me how much better I felt.

Laura was fantastic, she listened to what I needed and came up with a really great massage treatment plan so quickly that actually got to the root of my neck and back pain. She encourages deep breathing and proper positioning so you get the best from the massage. I won't be going anywhere else! I highly recommend her and the Self Centre!

I receive deep tissue therapeutic massage due to a long history of back injuries, and every time I leave I feel the most relaxed I ever have in all my years of treatment. I am looking forward to many more treatments!

Laura is the best! I have been to other therapists and none of them have helped me like she has. I highly reccommend her. The self centre is reas9nably priced, always clean, and through all the COVID stuff their communication has been great.

I can book through text message quickly, the Whitemud location is new for me but is clean and Kirsty is the best. She knows what she is doing and I always leave feeling like a new person after my massages with her! Highly recommend!

I've been seeing Laura Acott at this clinic for a couple of years now. She's always very professional, polite, and addresses the concerns I have with my back pain. She's thorough and works on the areas that help me the most. Even after a one hour session of therapeutic massage, my back feels a lot less tense and my muscles feel more loose and less knotted. She's super knowledgeable of anatomy and explains which muscle groups cause me pain and focuses on those areas. Thank you Laura!

I won a free massage through an instagram giveaway, and Lara was extremely helpful in asking me the type of massage I prefer and in matching me with Carl. Carl did a fantastic job. If you love deep tissue work, Carl is a great choice! I also enjoyed how he implemented a rolled warm, wet towel into the massage. I will absolutely visit The Self Centre for a massage by Carl again!
