Cool store, lots of space and they have pretty much everything from Warhammer to D&D. Would recommend to any nerd spending time in Calgary.

The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was just amazing. It was really cool how the building was split into a board games section in one part of the building and then a card game (mtg magic the gathering) section in the other part of the building. I look forward to going there again and possibly even playing some games there!

Can't say enough nice things about this place! The best selection of miniatures in the city along with the best selection of paints hands down. Friendly staff that are always happy to chat! Everyone always seems to be having a great time at Sentry Box.

Parking was a bit tricky on a Saturday due to a gaming event in the store, but that just goes to show how happening this place is! I eventually found parking on the street, and it was worth it! This is one of the biggest board game stores I've ever seen. I picked up a number of uncommon games and accessories. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this store to fellow board gamers anywhere!

Great store for games. Staff is usually very knowledgeable and helpful. Wide range of games from family to more intense role-playing and strategy games. They've also got some vintage video game items for sale.

A good selection of products, but as someone who is new to the hobby of collecting cards and has gone to a couple other shops in the city I have to say, this location has some of the most standoffish customer service ive ever recieved. I was ignored until I all but begged for service. As someone who didnt know too much about MTG I wanted to ask some questions about the difference in booster packs, with an interest in buying a booster box to start my collection. Instead I was told to buy a jumpstart boosterbox which are meant to be sold in packs of two. So i spent 200+ on a product that has no use to me as a collector. All together I felt the service was abrupt, rude, and I was ushered through my purchase as quickly as possible. Will not be returning.

The store is huge! They have anything you can think of, we primarily went to look at the Pokémon cards but there were so many other games and figurines too!

Amazing and awesome store to go and shop for you hobby and gaming needs. Lots to choose from, great customer service and if they don’t have what your looking for they will get it for you. Also if your looking for a really neat store to visit and check out for the first time this place it it.

Good selection, and seems to always have things in stock. The used cabinet for Warhammer minis is super handy to have, and can sometimes find some gems in there.

Their board game pricing can sometimes be a bit higher than other board game stores, and there's one male staff that can sometimes be a little unfriendly.but not enough to deter coming back.

Its hard to find stores like this these days, that is a game store that does it all. I find the staff aren't overly leering (you know the type in some of these nerd stores) and product offerings are pretty great. Sometimes I feel their prices are a smidgeon too high for some of the things, but for the most part they are point.

Overpriced on some stuff but you don't come here for the prices. They have everything for gaming. Everything.

Good store. My husband loves it, and spends way too much money here. They have the biggest selection of pretty much everything you could need, and pricing seems good.

Fantastic store and community anchor. I only wish they had a proper website, because you can't quickly search keywords to see what products they carry. They'd rank an easy 5 stars otherwise.

Best game shop I've ever been in. Has every board game you could want as well as deck building games, escape room games, cooperative games and all the miniatures for RPG Table Top games like D&D and Warhammer 40K as well as a ton more that I've never even heard of. 10s of thousands of dice. An enormous fantasy/sci-fi bookstore in the back to boot. It's a miracle to get out of this store for less than $100.

Giant table game store. The inside space of the store exceeds any expectations. Same is true to the selection of games and associated merchandise. Huge selection of very old game sets and brand new tranding ones. Very attentive and helpful personnel.

I absolutely love Sentry box! Every time I come here I end up finding something fun to get, this time was just a few loose D20 dice in the colours I love! The staff are always super nice and informative as well.

This is the biggest game store in Calgary. It also has a model section and caters to Magic the gathering as well. Board games, role playing games, books and miniatures. They even have a bunch of classic consoles for sale and a collection of old video games. Prices are fair but not the cheapest. Also a great place to meet up for similar minded gamers.

I constantly think about the supportive salesperson here who (excitedly) helped me pick out my first set of dice for DnD in late 2019. They explained what I needed and that I didn't *actually* need more than one set but could buy more if I really got into it. DnD/TTRPGs have been my sanity during the pandemic and I'm grateful for the welcoming service here that assisted me in getting the tools to get started. Great folks, and excellent stock.

Great place to go and find a new game to play. Ranging from board to card. You will definitely find a game that will be a hit for both family and friends. I don't think I have seen this big of a selection in one place ever. Dungeon and dragons, Pokemon, star wars, deck building, expansion packs, friendly knowledge staff.

Best game store ever, all the employees seemingly know everything or can point the way to a niche expert. Prices are reasonable and I get to collect points! They have just about anything you could ask for from miniatures to paint supplies to board games and books. Also, parking is a breeze which I cherish for any downtown place. Did I mention how much I love this place?

This place is awesome and has a great selection of hobby items. If I could go in their naked to prove I wasn’t intending on stealing I would. The pressure I feel while shopping is sometimes so not worth it. I walk out with 20 percent of what I would otherwise would have purchased.

Great store and staff. I bought one of the consignment games and got a great deal. It was clean and complete, what more could you ask for?

Great big store. Absolute best selection in the city for everything board games or table top games. They had a clear strategy for keeping things safe and I really appreciate that. Will definitely shop there in the future.

Sentry Box is a must for any game player from TTRPG to Magic the Gathering, etc. Always has been and always will be a favorite. I have been going to Snetry Box since they were in Marda Loop.

Love this place. The best selection of board games in town (that I am aware of), and a wonderful trove of RPG and tabletop gaming goodness. I may be biased from my younger days of playing games here, and the prices are good, not great, but if anyone is looking for classic or new tabletop/boardgames to buy, Sentry Box is the place. And a great way to support a local long time game store, which are few and far between. Love this place.

Sooooo many games! Walked in here one day since my friend wanted to go, immediately I was speechless this place is huge Organized great for how much product they sell. Mostly warhammer stuff, board games, card games, retro video games and a few more things in the back and upstairs that we didn’t see.

Got a ton of new party games/drinking games here!

I have enjoyed shopping here for many years but have been repeatedly put off by the non-service over the phone to the point where I'm now leaving a low-quality review. Why would a business let someone with no customer service skills answer their front desk answer line?

I call to inquire about a product - the guy who answers says he's never heard of that company (major gaming company) and makes zero effort to look in his computer or ask anyone else who works there - he just sits in silence for 10 seconds. WOW. That's one sure way to lose business to Amazon from a customer who's trying to support local.

Huge place full of all sorts of games, role playing games and accessories, models and more. I would live at this place if I were 12 years old again.

Amazing selection of Warhammer and 40k. Better than the games workshop store. Also carry Valejo, GW and P3 paints.

I have shopped here since the store opened in the mid 1990’s. Most recently I called to inquire about a few games I had read about online. The young lady who helped me was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of my questions and took my name to out the game I was searching for on hold when it came in. She had familiarity with the games I was asking about and was able to provide very good intel to help me inform my purchase. Living out of town I really appreciated the time she spent with me on the phone. It saved me well over an hour in travel for a game that was not currently in stock!
If you are looking for a game chances are they have it!

Great selection, lots of different games and the store itself is quite organized. The website however could use some rearranging. This is my number 1 store to go to for anything dnd related.

Rude staff in the board games and D&D side, excellent staff from the CCG side helped me get what I came for. Ultimately the good service out tramps the bad but I would go to a different D&D / boardgame shop if you can.

I have to say that I was disappointed with my interaction with Sentry Box, which led me to purchase my games at a competing local store within Calgary. When I posed a question about single player board games, they admitted that they had no real knowledge of these types of games and directed me to a gaming website.
They don't have very much knowledge about what they are trying to sell. I also became aware that their prices were grossly overpriced.

Excellent service and fantastic prices, loved the website and the ability to make an order online and pick it up at the curb! 5 stars any day of the week.

Don't go in there just to browse for a game u will be very lost and they don't really have people around to ask questions.if you're big into games/dnd it's probably easier to navigate & a good spot to find more exclusive games at a more higher price.

Fantastic hobby store! Been coming here for over a decade. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They make an effort to be well stocked in books, board games, table top games, and any hobby supplies you might need. They have an assortment of new releases and vintage, whatever your preference might be.

Excellent selection. The older staff members were very friendly and helpful. The younger staff were a bit covid mask fascist. Excellent selection of sci fi fantasy books games and miniatures and toys. Even better was the historical war games section and the history books as well. I highly recommend it for the gamer the sci fi / fantasy fan or the history buffs.

I've been going to the Sentry Box off and on for the last 25 years. They have always had a great selection of everything gaming and fair prices as well! I miss the after hours drop in gaming nights pre-Covid.

Hands down the best board game selection in town! Fair prices, usually swings between +/- $5 or $10 at most when compared to competitors.

Edit: Whoops, guess that review was meant for the board game side of the business. Card game side seems like a group of good guys though!
