My recent visit to The Source was a terrible experience. I had gone in for a specific purchase, but the salesperson persuaded me to switch my mobile service to Virgin Mobile, promising a superior data plan.
What's infuriating is that I wanted to make sure it met my needs, so I repeatedly asked the salesperson if the speed was 1 Gbps or 250 Mbps. They assured me, without a doubt, that it was 1 Gbps. This was crucial to me because I was already on Rogers' 5G plan, boasting a 1 Gbps speed.
Feeling reassured by their false claims, I, regrettably, agreed to switch to Virgin Mobile. However, the truth came crashing down on me like a ton of bricks only after I'd completed the switch and inserted the new SIM card. Lo and behold, the Virgin Mobile plan I'd been duped into was not 1 Gbps but a measly 150 Mbps on a 4G LTE network.
I felt completely deceived, and this ordeal cost me time and money. After my disappointing experience at The Source, I had to go to a Rogers dealer to rectify the situation, and there I had to pay an additional $60 for reopening my account. This fee shouldn't have been necessary if I hadn't been misled into making the switch at The Source.
Be cautious when dealing with their sales staff, as transparency seems to be lacking. I won't be returning.
