The Top Dog Store

I came in here to look for dog food. The smell of urine was so strong it stung my nostrils and I didn't last more than 5 minutes in there. The store was dirty as heck and didn't really have a lot of food or supplies on the shelves. Seemed super dodgy and bleak in there. Needless to say, I left without finding what I needed, but I don't think I would have made a purchase there anyway

The people that purchased puppies from here and then leave 5 star reviews should be ashamed. This is a store that supports backyard breeding and puppy mills. The puppies are kept in sub par conditions for god knows how long until they get purchased, then they get replaced by a slew of new ones. I was horrified by my one visit there. How this place still exists boggles my mind. They spew lies on their Facebook and Instagram pages and as soon as you even hint on disagreeing on something they post, they delete your negative review and you get blocked. By supporting this place, you are indirectly hurting innocent lives. Please be patient. Do your research. Get a puppy from a reputable breeder. Find out where they there are from, see their parents, see their living conditions or better yet, visit the multitude of rescues we have in our province and adopt. This place is not your answer.

My family and I got both Maya and Ice at Top Dog Store. The staff answered all of our questions and were super friendly! The place was also clean and organized. We thank everyone at Top Dog Store for making our experience so memorable!

Went to this store today because I was in the area and thought I’d check for some treats for my pup. This place is a puppy mill. The conditions the dogs are kept in is disgusting. I hope consumers think twice before supporting industries that harm animals.

Good place to letting both puppies and family have chances to meet. Find a puppy is a big decision, it is important to have chances to be real interacting. The girls who help us are super friendly and patient, so we find our family's puppy. I see some other comments, but my personal feel it is not ture, they are taking good care for puppies. You will know when you have the puppy in your arm.

At least they got imaginative and did not use their typical canned response you see in some other responses.
Buyer beware - Please rescue instead of supporting this establishment. City of Calgary should not be allowing business licenses to this type of environment!

Purely money driven! They do not care what happens to the dogs after they leave the store. All they are interested in is their public perception and their bank accounts.
They sold a puppy to my FIL with early dementia with no screening on his ability to care for it. He ticked a few boxes on a piece of paper and off he went with a $2200 dog. He lived alone and was not able to walk the dog, clean up after it or ensure proper follow up care of the dog. They called his house to see how the dog was and he told them all was fine because he was scared someone would take it away from him. IT WAS NOT FINE! He knew he couldn't take care of a puppy. Practices need to be put into place to ensure safety and security of animals. Site visits to homes, references that will vouch for someone, etc.prior to purchase.
It was truly sad that this situation was not caught in the store and more active screening measures were not in place. All he needed to get a puppy was a VISA!
Shame on you Top Dog Store. Shame on you!

I was shocked today when I visited this puppy store. (I tried to find food for my dog and ended here) How is this legal? Please don't say, that 30x mixed breed puppies are coming from ethical and responsible breeders. I haven't had this bad feeling for long time. If you want a dog: adopt or buy from a reputable breeder, where you can visit the kennel, meet the parents, see the results of the health tests, maybe some rosettes from shows.
