A real gem of a place. We felt pampered, comfortable and relaxed during our stay here. The historic home is absolutely beautiful with its antique furnishings. Shawn was the most welcoming and informative host and his attention to details with everything from the food to the decor to cleanliness is unmatched. The bed in the attic room has to be the most comfortable I have ever slept on! We highly recommend staying at the Tyrannosaurus Rest!

A fantastic stay! I'm moving for work and my mom and I stayed overnight here for our day in Alberta. I've never stayed at a B&B before and I'm glad this was my first. The host was very friendly and helpful when we asked him about tourism sites. My mother and I stayed in the attic suite and it was so cute! Love that the dinosaur theme was everywhere, everything was very clean when we arrived, beds super comfy, large bathroom+clawfoot tub, and a cozy reading room.
The breakfast was 100% delicious! As someone that loves pumpkin spice everything, pumpkin spice waffles with fresh coffee was the best to start our day. If I didn't have to be in Ontario in a few days I would have loved to have stayed for another night. 10/10 would recommend!

We highly recommend meeting Shawn and all of the hard work that has gone into making The Tyrannosaurus Rest B&B, it was easily one of our highlights for visiting Drumheller from Ontario! Everything detail has gone into making your stay warm, welcoming and cozy. Shawn shows so much attention to detail and was a fantastic host for me and my husband and 2 boys. (ages 12 & 10). He takes the time to explain what Drumheller has to offer and surrounding areas. It was a treat to enjoy the Attic Room with all our needs met. The breakfast served out on the porch was lovely, thought out with a beautiful breakfast, tea and coffee. Thank you Shawn, we hope to return again!

The T Rest is great! Shawn was a great host, and made a great homemade Mexican breakfast for us. The decor is very fitting for the style and time period of the house, and Shawn had lots of great photos and information and stories about the history of the home. The location was within walking distance of restaurants, stores, liquor store, paths along the river, etc. We loved the T Rests resident dog (the biggest, quietest, sweetest flood) BUT if dogs aren't your cup of tea, she was never really indoors or in the common areas, we wouldn't have known she was there if we hadn't seen her on the way in. Bit of traffic in front of the house, but the noise didn't interfere with our sleep - we still had a great rest and wish we had more than one day in Drumheller. Rooms had updated bathrooms, convenient power bars for charging, fans and space heaters if desired, and comfortable bedding. No ghosts! But lots of great stories about this heritage property.

This is the perfect place to stay for any Dino obsessives. The breakfast was great too. Highly recommend.

It’s been just over a day since my partner and I returned home from our trip to Drumheller, and while the museum was certainly a highlight we both agreed that the Tyrannosaurus Rest was the shining star of our trip!

I could not have picked a better place to stay when visiting Drumheller! We stayed for two nights and were sad to leave! Shawn, the proprietor, was such a generous and gracious host and his home was the perfect B and B. Shawn was responsive and kind and always made sure we were taken care of. The food he made us was delicious and he took extra care to ensure the kids didn’t leave the table hungry! He even made a special trip out to the grocery to get me soy milk so that I could enjoy his homemade muffins while on my special diet. He made great suggestions for things to do which greatly enhanced our stay. And he took the time to get to know us and let us get to know him, I loved the personal connection we made. His home, what a treasure! So much detail and interest. A beautiful, welcoming space we enjoyed sitting on the front porch having our breakfast and playing cards in the family room in between our daily travels. Shawn would check in on us and engage in pleasant conversation and even offer up coffee and cookies - making our stay even more pleasant and truly Going above and beyond. All the best Shawn, thank you for the great memories! T, R, R, S.

Fantastic host. Very comfortable room, everything you need. Homemade everything! From Bialetti coffee in morning to, the best freshly made Mexican burrito. I would stay here again.

A very lovely house with an even lovelier host.

The house has a rich history and in located less than a block from downtown Drumheller. We stayed in the attic room which was great for our kids. It has a beautiful view with a mini sun room, a claw foot tub (which saw a bit if use) and kids sleeping nook which my kids fell in love with immediately. One thing of note is that there is not a TV in each room although there is one for use one in the shared living room area on the bottom floor. We spent a lot of our time here on the porch which has many comfy chairs to sit and enjoy the garden.

Breakfast was excellent. Shawn ensured that there were no dietary requirements and then stuffed us with fresh homemade breakfasts, (sausage breakfast pie is delicious). The coffee and tea are locally sourced and excellent as well.

The best part though was the host, Shawn. He us extremely gracious to us and our small children and even went the extra mile with DINOSAUR plates and forks. He gave us the rundown of all the good places to eat and visit in Drumheller and I an safely say his advice never steered us wrong. As he grew up around town he has numerous stories of the area and of growing up here which was a joy to listen to. He also an excellent listener for my 3 year old even if he had no idea what he was saying.

The only issue may be that this place is too good and the word has gotten out because he is booked straight!

In summary a wonderful place to stay, book early and have a wonderful vacation at the T-Rest!

Shawn was an amazing host. He went out of his way to accommodate for allergies and made our family trip to Drumheller special. Fantastic location!

Thanks for hosting us, Shawn. You've put a lot into making the T-Rest a warm and welcoming B+B. The Drumheller history and activity suggestions you passed on really added to our Drumheller experience. Both rooms were comfortable and super well maintained. Breakfast was excellent! Now we just need to plan a return visit to pick up on some of the places you suggested that we weren't able to fit in.

We loved our stay here! We stayed in the Attic Room, which was lovely and spacious. There is a sitting area in addition the bedroom, and a large bathroom. It is not air conditioned, but there are several fans and windows that can be opened for fresh air. Shawn is a fantastic host. He has so much knowledge about the area and we truly enjoyed chatting with him about Drumheller. He is very friendly and really made us feel welcome. At breakfast, he set a beautiful table for us and was extremely attentive. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and tasty and Shawn was able to accommodate special dietary requests. We highly recommend this place and feel lucky that we got to stay here.

We LOVED our stay at the T-Rest! Shawn is incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable of the area, and we cannot say enough about his delicious baking. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and cozy - we were enamoured with the Jessie Gouge room with its soft bed linens and beautiful wallpaper (and the wonderful dinosaur sugar cookies waiting for us within when we arrived!), wishing within minutes that we could have stayed longer than the single night we had planned. We will definitely be returning and agree wholeheartedly with one of the younger guests of the day who gave Shawn a “1000/10” rating for his breakfast!

This is a gem! Really enjoyed our stay here. Shawn is very knowledgeable about the town and a splendid cook. Coffee is lovely, and the little touches in decor and hospitality really make for a wonderful stay.
The rooms are decorated well and are comfortable to sleep in. Highly recommend!

We stayed for two days at this wonderful and historic bed and breakfast while visiting the sights of Drumheller. Our room, "The Newcastle Room" was pleasant and included a shower, sink and toilet. Shawn our "host" dealt with our everyday needs and provided advice on the local attractions. Each morning's breakfast was a special treat with a variety of delicacies to enjoy! After our all day outings, he would serve us tea and cookies on the outdoor veranda. We had a very relaxing stay!

Why we loved our stay here:

* Historical, beautifully maintained old home, pride in keeping its sense of history, style, character - the home's atmosphere oozes that sense of timeless grace, the sense and beauty of history, yet it is friendly to modern local art, libraries, curiously fun touches in the decor, furniture and contents.

* Excellent management, friendly, easy going, professional, attentive and yet relaxed making it a pleasure to stay there with ease.

* So clean.

* Home made foods that are exquisite and you would never find in restaurants, and available - and in generous abundance.

* Beds and linens, warm and the of the best quality - crisp, clean and cozy.

* Lovely grounds, the porch must be experienced!

* Great parking - on site!

* Excellent bathrooms and heating (updated, full service plumbing well heated and ventilated).

* The "No end of things to see and do in the area", rain or shine; the Royal Tyrrell Museum, scenic drives, ferries, hiking in the Badlands and walks along the river, walkable to downtown shops and sights, bicycling, local public events like Blues Festivals, the Badlands Outdoor Amphitheater, Hot Air Balloon events, natural landscapes and wildlife - check the Drumheller Events news! Or just reading and relaxing in the BnB).

* The character of other guests; generally ike minded, interesting people who seek out these places.

Are there any bad points? It's an older home - floors will creak a bit (reminding you of antiquity and the sense of wondering about those who've walked them through its many years) yet it was stone silent when we were sleeping.its close to downtown you get some sound (mostly in the day) - but its the hum and the pulse of the the little town you're staying in! And it's fun!

We will continue to stay anytime in a heart beat, either to do things locally and/or just get away to a quiet spot and soak in the location.

If you're wondering about booking - but you like what's described above - I'd say do it. There's no where like this anywhere else in town.or other places for that matter.

You know when you have high hopes for a B&B and end up cancelling the rest of your stay because where you were staying didn't include the second part of the B meaning breakfast? Well that is what happened to my husband and me and SHAWN AT TYRANNOSAURUS REST RESCUED US! We really needed a restful weekend away and Shaw fit us into his very busy schedule at the Rest hurrying to ready our room. Aside from his exceptional way with his guests, he is one tremendous cook/chef, who, by the way is willing to share recipes, and he has lovingly remodelled a lot of this magnificent old home. It is as welcoming and tidy as ever, and the bedrooms are not only very tastefully decorated, but have the most comfortable beds and linens. We certainly hope to return and sit in the swinging chairs out front while reading and eating peanuts, sitting in the quiet, spacious living room, or in the backyard around the fire pit. Book at least two days or more at Shawn's Tyrannosaurus Rest, you'll be so happy that you did!

My partner and I stayed at the T-rest Bed and Breakfast for 3 nights and 4 days in early August 2021. Our stay was wonderful! The house is superb, and is filled with beautiful antique furniture and is landscaped very nicely. Shawn is a fantastic host, and an amazing cook! We were blown away by every breakfast we had, and the packed lunch we had was equally impressive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!

Excellent stay, I would highly recommend staying here. The house is beautiful, super clean and the host Shawn goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Shawn’s amazing cooking definitely adds to the experience.
I can’t say enough about this BNB.
Thank you Shawn.

Stayed in the attic suite and it was gorgeous! I'd recommend getting there around 3-4, as some guests don't check out until noon or so. The host is absolutely lovely, (ask for some food/restaurant recommendations) and there are local art pieces hung up about the place. Lovely hospitality and wonderful cooking too!
The host does have two dogs that occupy the first floor, and two budgies in the library, for those who have allergies to look out for.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you're visiting Drumheller!

We cannot recommend T-Rest highly enough. We were three generations, staying for four nights. The house and its furnishings and grounds are both beautiful and homey. The front porch with its swing chairs and omnipresent bowl of peanuts was a favourite spot for happy hour. Shawn is a gracious and knowledgeable host with a fascinating history in Mexico. The breakfasts spectacular. Shawn was there if and when you needed something, without ever being intrusive. We had 10-year old boy along, and Shawn helped him clean and bleach old bison bones we found on a kayak trip. Two lovely dogs were an added bonus.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Shawn was a very gracious host and catered to our every need (especially Ms Picky Pants). Breakfasts were delicious with great variety. Room/bed was very comfortable and well appointed.
We had a great stay and would highly recommend this B&B.

Such a beautiful welcoming Bed and Breakfast the location is great. The rooms are fantastic and very clean. I love the decorating. Shawn is an amazing host and the food is superb. He is also very knowledgable in the history of the bed and breakfast and also things to do around town. I would definitely recommend staying here and will absolutely be returning very soon.

An absolute gem of a place to stay while in Drumheller! Shawn is a very accommodating and friendly host who is also a pretty darn good cook! Breakfast was homemade tacos and salsa with some lovely muffins served as a group experience which we quite enjoyed, as it enabled us to meet the other guests who were there. The home itself is full of character and charm - Shawn has a book on the history of it should you be so interested. The B&B is also located in a central part of town and very close to a brewery.

Thank you for the great stay Shawn - we had a wonderful time!

Shawn is an accommodating, wonderful host who takes care of every detail, and is a wealth of information about local attractions and such. Our homemade breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and it was a lovely experience staying in a beautiful and quirky historic home.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the T-Rest B&B so much that we were fortunate enough to be able to book an extra night. Shawne is a friendly, interesting and casual host as well as an excellent breakfast chef. Our stay was during a smoky and hot spell in the middle of the summer, and the T-Rest was the perfect place to wind down and cool off. Looking forward to visiting again mid-winter. I bet it will be great.
