The Wood Restaurant & Lounge

Had such an amazing dinner experience with my wife. Chase our server and bartender (he can do it all) was extremely helpful and welcoming. My wife and I are very indecisive and Chase was able to recommend perfectly our wine, appetizers and mains in such a joyful and polite manner. We had the dragon noodle bowl and the cedar plank salmon paired with a bottle of twin islands Sauvignon blanc and it was all sensational! Would 100% recommend the Wood to anybody visiting Canmore!

If I could give this place a zero I would. Was soo excited to try this place off based off the reviews and menu but I was very disappointed. We ordered wings and you could literally taste the oil with every bite. They were left untouched - the salad was dry, the spinach dip was cold however their chicken tenders were decent.

Had probably THE best burger I've ever had. Service was excellent, server was from Manitoba.

It was a nice place to have dinner with my family and our friends' families.
It was possible to talk to each other and listen, as there was no loud music, and at that time there was no music actually. This creates a nice atmosphere for people to concentrate on the purpose: to enjoy the dinner with no rush and enjoy conversation with friends, without having to shout louder than airplane engine. We know where to go when craving for loud.
The wood and the interior design were adding more relaxation in addition to the positive atmosphere.
The staff was friendly and polite, and the main food arrived in a reasonable time, while we still had appetite, unlike places where by the time the main food arrives, one feels full and has to make extreme efforts to enjoy the quarter of it.
In summary, it is a good place for families to enjoy food and be able to communicate.
I would go there again when in Canmore.

Amazing ambience and tasty food. Had a variety of options in the menu. Servers are very friendly and helped with best choice that suits our taste.

Poor service. The server showed up quite late despite the fact there weren't many customers and she kept cleaning other tables where the guests were already gone. Later when we wanted to make a change in our order, soon after confirmation, the staff took their sweet time ocall our server who only showed up saying its already ready.
We have been there several times but found the service this time to leave a lot to be desired. Hope they will attend to their customers in a timely and responsible manner.

Ordered the Alberta Cheeseburger and it was charred so I sent it back. The second was exactly the same. Very disappointed.

Took a while to be served, the wings and ribs were excellent, the steak was tough and not a 50 dollar steak. Thin and over cooked, stick with the appys.

This is not wheelchair/mobility issues friendly. There's 5 large steps to get up to the restaurant and the restroom is in the basement. This wasn't a problem for us but might be helpful for others to know

Great place with lots of different foods to choose from! After our long walk we were very happy to stop into The wood restaurant. Had lot of variety of foods to choose from! Super nice service, quick and delicious! Warm spinach cheese dip with crispy pitas was my fave heart

Visited on a Saturday night for dinner. It was very busy but we were seated quickly.

We both had the steak sandwich. The steak was cooked well but lacked flavour. It tasted like it was served over a piece of plain untoasted white bread, not garlic bread. And the chimichurri served with it did not have flavour or taste at all like fresh herbs so I expect it was from a bottle. Overall, lacking in flavour and seasoning.

Service was friendly and timely.

Food was really solid, would come here just for the bathrooms though. Definitely worth a stop if your coming through.

A little disappointed with the meals. Prices are premium but kitchen performance is below average. Burgers were good. Salmon was perfect, but if I can't get my steak cooked right in Alberta, then why am I here?

Food was par for the course though I didn't love the fries. The service however was great. We had an awesome server that made us feel right at home. They also have some real sweet looking drinks if that's your thing, it's not my thing but I enjoyed the drink I got.

Decent, but not the best. Always leave feeling a little bit underwhelmed for what I paid. There are better options in town.

On October 14th, 2023 at about 1145am we ask the Hostess if we can sit on the patio if the heaters are working. She says ALL THE heaters aren't working. Lol! I laughed. What a joke. Obviously they weren't enabled for the season, or shut off for the winter season. Whatever.

But she towed the company and said they're broken. I asked "are you sure ALL of them are broken? ". She's like "Yep". Dang! This place has bad luck.

Only gave it 2 stars because the Wonton Nachos changed my life. Amazing. Next I would take out the nachos and never eat in again.

My buddy and I had a great lunch there on the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday after stopping on our motorcycles from Calgary. The hostess was working very hard to manage all of the people in line, but she did a great job and got us a table after not waiting to long. The Bison burger I had was awesome, the service from Felix S was excellent, and it was such a beautiful day to enjoy the beautiful sun and gorgeous mountains on your amazing patio:)

Service was slow and the bison burger comparable to a generic fast food burger. The patio has great views, which is really the reason to come here. Fine for grabbing a drink on the patio, but better off earing elsewhere.

Very sub par restaurant. Drink, appetizer, and meals all made wrong and had to be sent back. Bathrooms dirty. Service below average. There are way better restaurants to choose from in Canmore - do not recommend this place.

We went to Wood for dinner and drinks. We got the butternut squash soup, cowboy caviar, thanksgiving dinner & cedar plank salmon as well as some drinks. Their drink menu is fantastic and the drinks just as great. We enjoyed the menu items, but they were rather bland and needed additional salt & pepper. The cowboy caviar was a miss, it was really just guacamole with undercooked beans, that also lacked seasoning. It wasn't a spectacular meal, but the atmosphere was - especially sitting outside with a blanket. I would have to try something else before recommending it for food. Great drinks, great service.

Enjoyed dinner at the Wood! Excellent service and food! Vegetarian options as well. I will be back!

The food was excellent and the servers were very friendly. I appreciated that they had blankets that we could use for outside seating.

Unique menu! Our server was so nice! We enjoyed cider on draft and a burger while we watched sports on TV.

Went for dinner tonight with a friend. I had the Alberta beef burger, fries and gravy and a Caesar drink. I was impressed with all of it. Service was fantastic and it has a very cool atmosphere. Would definitely go back and absolutely would recommend. Good job!
