One of my favourite cafés in Edmonton! Their gluten free treats include flourless PB&C cookies (pictured below) and tahini cookies. Both are very tasty and newly they are packaged individually to make them even more celiac friendly! Their coffee is also excellent - I’ve never been disappointed by one of their roasts. Plus there’s a nice new multiuse sitting area outside the alley door in addition to the park and farmers market across the street. Very instagramable cafe & surrounding area if you’re looking for a cute place to shoot. I was a regular at the old location and the staff were amazing! When I was hoping to get some gift cards for friends and family, they offered a special arrangement to make it happen despite not having physical cards. I have nothing but good things to say about Woodrack - one of Edmonton’s finest gems for sure.
The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food and tea are tasty. The scones are a little sweeter than I like and the coffee is a tad citrusy. Otherwise great.
I love the atmosphere here. Staff are friendly, music is groovy, drinks are yum, lighting is a beautiful mix of soft light and natural light, and the energy is light and easy- none of the intense loud cafe vibes you get at a lot of other cafes on Whyte.
Very great breakfast sandwhich. The atmosphere is great definatly will be back! Josh who is the baker is such a great kid! He bakes everything i had the artichoke with roastef peppers and pesto oh my land the best. If you havent went to the woodrack yet you better go there.
The Woodrack Cafe is a little Cafe with a comfy rustic feel that serves exceptional food. Both the hot drink and soup I had were exceptional. This is my new favourite cafe!
Great mocha and delicious banana bread, though a bit pricey. The wifi here is really fast so if you need to do some work, it's great. It is very cold in here however, the AC was blasting the whole time I was in here, so not super comfortable. Otherwise, friendly service and great decor/vibe. Would come back to try some other drinks.
Went to the Whyte Ave location, love the vibe! Unique menu items to try which is super fun, I had the violet latte which is something I’ve never seen before. Super unique, don’t even know how to describe it but I would recommend giving it a try!
This was my first visit to Woodrack Cafe and what a cute cafe inside. The Morning Glory muffins were the best I have ever had. So many ingredients, and so moist! Also, our Latte and London Fog were excellent.
Amazing value on their food and drinks. Their salmon salad breakfast sandwiches and their bacon breakfast sandwiches are light, healthy, fluffy and delicious. They serve teas, coffees, lattes, hot and cold drinks including lemonade and sodas. Have yet to try their soup and grilled cheese but they have so many good menu options, it's hard to make a decision on the spot.
A little bit expensive ($10 for a latte and a piece of carrot cake). The carrot cake was moist but the cream cheese icing was hard. The batista wasn't exactly welcoming but he made a great latte.
The café was full of customers on their computers so there was no where to sit (on a Monday afternoon) which was a little disappointing.
One of my favourite cafes in the city! I've been a customer since they first opened on 109 St. The owners and staff are always kind, and the coffee and food is excellent. The new Whyte ave location is beautiful!
Went there yesterday and I didn’t not like it. Coffee tasted over extracted and I and I asked for a latte and it was waaaaay to sweet, couldn’t finished.
Asked for an alternative milk and I’m sure they gave me regular milk because heading out of there had to run to a restroom after I left the café. It would be nice for people to know that if somebody ask for an alternative milk is because they have a condition not just because we want other type of milk I had a nice dinner planed after this I couldn’t enjoy it.
Located in the very cool alley perpendicular to the Strathcona Farmer's Market (beside Sugared & Spiced), this cafe is bright, soothing, and inviting. The hot beverage options are unique and interesting. I had a flat white, which was very good, and the leek croissant, which I enjoyed warmed. I can't wait to try their baked in-house cookies. Very friendly staff.
A fantastic cafe run by Very nice people! I can't wait for my next visit. The food and drink is excellent and the portions leave nothing to be desired! I 100% recommend this cafe.
Best cafe I have ever been to and easily the best coffee I have ever had! I love the place so much. Everyone who works there is so welcoming and so loving. This cafe is the best in Edmonton for sure. I love coming in!
Like this place a lot. Unfortunately, the owner decided to shut down after a rude woman came in without mask and made nuances. But I think the owners or the people who worked in the cafe did the right thing. I respect that. Food is great and not over priced and a lot of gluten free option. It's cute and comforting.
Courtesy and the best cappuccino so far. I am a cappuccino lover and I am Italian.the place is cosy, you really feel at home. They sell also great croissant and curious vintage staff. Inspiring!
Quaint-est spot to grab a coffee on off whyte. Coffee and tea selection is super tasty with interesting flavours. Also a bunch of tasty treats to choose from (as well as all day breakfast sandwiches). And the people that work there are always lovely!
Really cute place! The coffee was great and service was good! My only complaint is on the portions, my iced drink once I took out the ice was only about 1/4 full and same thing happened with our soups (only 1/2 full). Grilled cheese was good but cheese was way too thick and not melted. I will try this place again because I think it has good potential and maybe I just hit it on a bad day ️
The Woodrack Café is a microcosm of being Edmontonian. Rustic beginnings harken to the frontier history of this region. But as Edmonton grew, as The Woodrack grew, decorative elements take shape. It’s a place of subtlety. But ultimately a place of quiet joy. A coffee without fanfare. A view of nearby McIntyre Park. Each give you comfort for the moment. A great café gives you that break for a moment. Adding small things from there act to enhance the comforting environment. A pastry. A sandwich. Soup. Baked from the heart baked goods. Each element is a piece in the comforting tapestry created here. A few steps from the bustle of Whyte Avenue gives you the warmth to enjoy the moment. Reduce the din that life can sometimes raise. The Woodrack Cafe is a special place. A new home for them to grow. But still respect their rustic beginnings.
Nice place. Small. Good food at a fair price. The soup is very good and it's good size too.
The coffee is ok. Like most places, they can't make a good cappuccino. It's too big. Cappuccinos should be 5 to 6 oz no larger, otherwise the taste is just a poor latte.
I would recommend the owners go have a cappuccino at Ace, De Capo, Sugar Bowl, and Iconoclast. If you want to serve a cappuccino on your menu, then take notes from those places. SB has the best cappuccino in town. Hands down
LOVE this coffee shop. Incredibly friendly service, great ambiance and terrific coffee! They offer a great selection of other beverages, snacks, light meals and they make whoopie pies that are an absolute treat!
Woodrack used to be the best cafe in Edmonton. However their new location, in an oversaturated whyte ave area has ruined it. The food quality and variety has dropped, the parking is horrible, the location is bad and the hours are awful. Have been going to Woodrack for years, now I have to find a new place. Very sad.
This cafe is really amazing. They have great food and a great atmosphere. It's cozy and a great place to hangout with friends or be alone and do work. It is very expensive, even though the food is good it's hard to throw $8.50 at a soup if you're not in a fancy restaurant. I'm sad that they're moving to a new location, but I'm sure they're new one will be even better.
I seriously love the layout and you can tell that a lot of thought went into every touch point in Woodrack. The rustic chic is definitely on brand with the warmth and coziness of not only the decor but also with the owners, both of whom were working when I was in on a Monday! I love the book exchange area and did you know that there's a community scarf project? You can pick up the knitting stuff
Nice cozy cafe with super friendly staff and good coffee. Their menu is a tad pricey but everything is high quality. My only complaint is that the music is a bit too loud at times, otherwise it’s a great place for conversation or working on a laptop.
This place is one of my most favorite places in Edmonton! My friends and I love coming whenever we are visiting! The atmosphere and decor is very inviting. The baristas are top notch in friendliness! I have ordered several drinks and they have all been great.
This is an amazing coffee shop that I feel not enough people know about. The other day I had possibly the most delicious grilled sandwich of my life, and their coffees never disappoint. I have yet to have a negative experience with staff or food, and highly recommend this as a place to grab a coffee with friends!
My favourite cafe in Edmonton! Staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is super cosy and relaxing, and their dirty chai latte is perfect. A great place to study for a few hours.
Love this café! Cozy, trendy, welcoming décor and cool vibe. Great coffee and treats. Super kind staff. They always have fun events going on. And they serve alcohol too
Amazing place. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, their morning glory muffin is incredible, and the most notable part is their delightful staff - what a gem!
Very pleasant and welcoming staff! The cafe's interior was nice and clean, and its pleasant decor was rustic and modern simultaneously. I really liked the ambience of the place although I was just getting my order to go, I would like to come back dine-in in the future. I'm slowly getting into coffee/espresso after being a tea drinker all my life and I like to order things that I can't easily make at home. I tried their Americano and it was delicious, I only added one sweetener and a splash of milk and it was perfect (I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I frequently add much more + flavoured syrup at a certain multinational corporate chain). Lovely neighbourhood gem!
Great friendly staff with an accent, just what you look for when getting coffee. Lovely Lavender Latte for the girl in your life. Huge Potty room fit for parties of 10 or more
A great place to come grab a cup of tea/coffee and do some work. If you are planning on coming to sit down, try and come early as it can fill up in busy times.
Ordered a veggie breakfast sandwich and a soy salted caramel latte. Everything was freshly made and the atmosphere was fantastic. I will definitely will be back, also it is a kid friendly business which is awesome for me.
Came for a late afternoon lunch. Enjoyed the tomato bisque soup and meatloaf and gouda warm sandwich.amazing. So good I came back for breakfast! 30 hours in Edmonton and this is my new go to.if I lived here, I know where I'd hang out!
One of the more classy looking coffee houses I have been to in Edmonton (and I've visited a lot of them). Service was friendly, and staff were very quick with my order. I got a breakfast sandwich and a granola bar. Both were delicious, hitting the simple but well executed marker of high quality food. Ricotta cheese on a breakfast sandwich is something I wouldn't have considered, but I'm absolutely sold now. Prices were very reasonable as well. I will definitely visit again.
This place is great, i wish the baked goods were a bit cheaper cause theyre super good. Amazing coffee, i think they use Oso Negro which is my favorite coffee roaster. Grest vibe, and awesome staff.
Good atmosphere and cozy. Perfect for students who need a quiet place to study. Remedy is nice aswell but too many people there making it echo a lot more, whereas this place is super quiet and pleasant.
The baristo guy there forgot an order, but after confrontation he immediately gave us 2x more pastries than what we initially paid for. It was super nice.
