Theatre Garage has been my go to for costumes, makeup and cosplay advice for years. With their friendly, knowledgeable staff, excellent prices, and wide range of products I know they will have exactly what I need whenever I swing by. Theatre Garage rocks my stripy socks!
Omg- this place is amazing. Looking for a costume, dress up, wigs, clothing dye, and movie/theatre make-up, this is your one-stop shop. Stopped in to grab props for our office spirit day and was blown away at how big and full this place was. Fair prices too. Great customer service. Will be back next time I need ideas or props for our office spirit days.
This store has so many cool things for costumes! Destyn and staff were amazing in helping me find what I need! I’ll def be back for any other costume needs!
Very attentive staff. Had 3 people ask me if I needed help while looking at the contacts. They also still had a great selection of contacts shortly before Halloween when other places had few.
The staff here was very nice, and initially I thought they were very helpful. I came in looking for water based paints for a costume, the one staff member steered me away from this telling me it would take me 8 hours to sponge colour on a full body and instead suggested I use an alcohol based paint palette as it would last longer on the body and assured me that one colour in this palette would easily cover 2 bodies and I could use an airbrush to apply it. I bought the palette for over $100 with 8 extra colours I didn’t need (it contained 2 I did need) and given the information that this was all the paint I would need and then some. Turns out it really was not designed to be used with airbrushing, it was hell to try to mix with alcohol enough to use in an airbrush so I ended up having to sponge it on! I then ran out of paint and ended up having to borrow water based paints from a friend last minute to finish my project. The very thing I went into this store for in the first place and was told it was a terrible idea and I’d regret it if I tried to do it. Also it did not take 8 hours to cover a body with a sponge which I inevitably had to do.more like 2.
I purchased 3 wigs just days before Halloween to take on holiday for a group costume and they were amazing quality for a very reasonable price! They completed our costume look and if I could post a pic I would! This is my new Favorite resource in Edmonton for every thing dress up or costume related events!
The staff was friendly and the crafting possibilities that this place offers is downright phenomenal. I loved it! Will be coming back with money when I can.
I love Theatre Garage sooo much. Amazing selection of all things costumes including fabric and sewing supplies, wigs and makeup, and tons of little accessories and props. The staff are super knowledgeable and helpful too! I’m a visual artist so I’ve definitely come to them with some strange asks and bought weird combinations of things but they don’t seem to mind haha. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Christy and her amazing team are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Went there to find a Christmas present for my daughter who is in theatre and they had a great variety and high quality choices. Found some great sewing tools as well.
Amazing staff and great and diverse options! The staff genuinely care and I was helped very quickly. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to find a reason to go back!
Disappointed with my most recent visit. The staff are very nice and helpful but it was the product that let me down. Bought some Kryolan Liquid Latex and tried to use it the same day of purchase. Upon opening I saw it had gone thick and paste-like and did not have the liquid consistency you'd expect of liquid latex. I struggled getting any out of the container, it was like a dense pudding. A big glob came out all at once and started to dry and almost curdle within under a minute, it was totally unusable. I contacted the store to let them know and they assured me the shipment was new and that was it. I felt completely ripped off. Went and got a cheapo brand of liquid latex instead from Party City and got immensely better results. Despite the great staff I don't see myself going back.
Update: Staff reached out to try and solve the issue after the first e-mail and it was just a problem with the product and they were unable to get back to me right away. I had limited time to work on my costume so I had to replace the latex asap. Staff advised on a way to make the product usable but it was long past the point of being fixable. The staff there are very nice and this was an honest review of my experience.
Theatre garage online service is outstanding, we are so happy with Halloween face masks they are perfect. Highly recommend their face masks as we will be wearing them for awhile. I have Xmas ones happy with those too. Halloween face masks are so creative and shipped is quick.
Ruined my 10 year Olds Halloween after spending $55 for a $20 costume that he was very indecisive about but we purchased anyway as there was very limited selection for children's costumes.we tried to return it 4 minutes later and were refused. To make matters worse he saw them return a Wolverine costume earlier but now he's out of luck
Just went into this place for the first time. Needed a Leia wig 3 days before Halloween. (Figured it would be easier than doing my own hair) Staff was so friendly, place has so many things & I loved that I could see where the item was online and then tell the staff and they were able to find it right away. I will definitely be coming back. And open year round!
