I like the deals here but often find the tills to be under staff waiting extremely long time to check out. Other than that everything here was fantastic the store was clean the deals are good everything the frugal shopper might want.
Saturday evening about 6: 30.entered store, grabbed 2 milk, and a 12 pack of coke. The Express checkout was closed. There were 2 mainstream tills open. There wasn't a big lineup at first. Trouble was the full carts in front of me, and then us, then more us forming behind me. I saw one teller call for a manager, presumably, to open another till. No manager came. One lady waiting in the now reasonably large line requested (rather loudly) for a teller to call for a manager, which they did. That was 2 calls for a manager to till. 10 minutes later, when I finally got through the till, still no manager. I'm done with "No Frills", as it truly is "NO frills". INDEED!
My Cashier Roxanne was super friendly and very efficient.not only did she wipe down the belt and debit terminal prior to my use she offered me sanitizer and because I made a mistake on the amount of bags I needed she was kind enough to give me an extra bag without having to ring in another debit transaction. I didn't have any cash/change on me so she told me she would cover it. I truly appreciate her friendly attitude. Especially in these crazy times. Thank you Roxanne!
Every single time I shop at this store for the sales, there’s never any product left. Sure some of the prices are good, but it’s really frustrating when what brought you into the store is out of stock so quickly. The selection and staff seem very limited and the overall atmosphere in the store is dirty and drab. I always want to shop local but the No Frills in Chestermere is managed a lot better than this Strathmore location and the Chestermere store is nicer, cleaner and worth the drive.
My cashier Roxanne was busy complaining about covid while not wearing a mask or the clear plastic guard they gave her that she forgot to ask me if I needed bags. She started coughing so I left without them just to get out of the store. I may not come back.
Pharmacist Michel Tadros was so good today! Answered all my questions (with science based answers) about covid test and also about vaccines. I felt like he took the time to listen to me. I trust this guy! Thanks Michel!
Employees are super. May not have all different stuff some other stores have.but the one employee who helped me with ideas to compensate. Fantastic. I will be shopping here fr now on.
Good prices, checkouts still inefficient having to guess number of bags then stop bagging to go pay (hint: self checkout format is much better for bagging)
Well they say they price match but only in strathmore? Can't be beat? Oh and what I wanted price matched was from real Canadian superstore, which is all apart of the same company. Last time I will bother unless I am desperate, rather drive into Calgary.
The world declares a pandemic, all business have strict cleaning protocols. Nothing strict going on here, the cashier was a supervisor and she was just licking her fingers and handing bags and receipts. So disgusting.
Produce is usually on par, same with meat dept, prices are fair/reasonable.most staff are pleasant, parking's usually not an issue, never seem to have to wait long for cashier. Thanks Tina's
Just heard that no frills are no longer sending out flyers. I think you will loss a lot of sales. I came in today with my paper flyer for One item and I picked up a cart full of stuff. Today was not even shopping day. So I can’t see how going digital is going to make or save the store any extra money. Flyers work.
Prices are ok, maybe a little bit more than Calgary. They have everything one would need in grocery. One draw back that they could update is the checkouts, there to small especially if you do a full grocery shopping trip and buy a lot like we do. The checkout was crowded, not enough space to put your groceries, your still working on emptying your cart but the stuff they rang through is still sitting on the other side waiting to go back into the cart and there's just not enough room for everything, then the person behind has 6 items and if you're not careful your groceries get mashed in with theirs. Carts are same size as Superstore. You have to bag your own groceries. Strathmore is a growing city and need to get away from the small-town mentality. There are no self checkouts.
Its ok, they only take debit or Mastercard (no visa) and you have to pack your own groceries even when you pay for bags. We usually go to Walmart or Sobeys.
They are now offering some organic produce, however in my opinion they still lack throughout the rest of the store in healthy GMO free choices. Staff is friendly
Have not had good customer service at this store and particularly am shocked at how unprofessional one of the regular cashiers there has been. She does not seem to understand that your own personal life has nothing to do at work and that it is not the place of a cashier to seek out a shopper who is not even at her till (my young adult daughter) and make her uncomfortable with her opinion. My daughter happens to have an invisible disability and had a nervous break down in the parking lot after this incidence! Very unprofessional and will make my family avoid this store!
Shopped here off and on for eleven years but will not be back after today.
Today I went in to buy 4 cases of cheap Mr. Noodles in prep for summer camping for us and ten grandkids over the entire summer season, when I reached the till I was instructed in the presence of cashier and a second staff member at the till to put three case back, which I did myself with no offer of assistance. Be aware these were not an on sale item but were at regular price. Seriously No Frills? There was like 20 cases there just on the shelf. Order more stock for your customer base if someone buying four cases of cheap noodles for the summer is gonna break the bank for you.
This event was on top of sifting through bags of mushy / soft tomatoes on the vine, bags of bell peppers and onions with random rotting items inside them, and celery that looked beat to death. Trying to pick a good bag of these items felt like a treasure hunt and took about as long.
Just an all around terrible experience. Do yourself a favour and stay far away from this sub standard gong show and do your shopping at Walmart or Sobey's.
Wouldn't normally write a review of a grocery store, but 2 "not so great" experiences in a row forced me to. The first visit (we are new to the area), left us waiting for a long time at the cash as there was only 1 cash line open. I asked a store employee if they could call someone to the cash, and they said that the others were at lunch. Everyone in line was complaining. Longest line I've ever seen. Second visit, an employee made a comment to me and we both laughed only to be admonished by a second employee. Very bizarre experience! I think they truly need to learn some customer service skills at this store. Remember, this is only my personal opinion and maybe I just had some bad luck.
Good prices but their best priced turkeys are tasteless. Will not buy their turkeys again when Wal Mart is not far from there. Also their meats could be better in price.
