Tokachi Japanese Restaurant

Food was good. Our group showed up for lunch and it took just over 90mins to get everyones orders. Half the group got their food in 35mins and were done before the other half got theirs. No communication from staff on order delays, we had to go up and ask.

It's a good place to try Japanese food. Especially good to come during happy hours from 2 pm to 5 pm, then you can try many different kinds of sushi for $1.50 apiece or a set of 6 for $4.50

Whether you see it as a negative or positive, it was very empty so the service was fast and the food came quickly

The food is probably the freshest and most savoury Japanese cuisine I've eaten so far in Calgary, maybe I need to expand the places I go to but I just can't stop coming back here. I recommend coming here with anyone and everyone you know and enjoy some top quality ramen, sushi, curry, You name it

It was our first time trying this place and it was a mistake, waste of time and money.

The service was terrible and everything took super long. I understand if maybe short staff or long waits or whatever, but this was unacceptable. It wasn’t even busy, there were only a couple tables. At least be nice about it and do the job properly, why does the customer have to tell you what to do? It took our waitress so long to bring the menu so we had to ask for it, then we had to ask to order because our waitress never came back then she said she’ll come back and then she never came back again so I had to ask AGAIN, then it takes an hour to receive our first dish (udon soup). We were happy to finally receive our food then realized they still didn’t give us utensils, so i asked and we waited long again, after eating it quick because we were starving at this point, we waited even longer to receive our next dish (sushi), at this point it’s been 2 hours. When we ate the sushi, the sushi rice was super sticky and not good. I then asked for an update on our drinks since our main courses are all out, why are the drinks not out still, taking so long and shouldn’t it have come in the beginning? Another 30 mins past and we finally received our drinks. I noticed the drinks were large size and had toppings which was not what I ordered and the waitress said we ran out of medium so we gave you large and normally we put pearls in but we also ran out of that too so we put jelly instead. Ok so why didn’t you guys tell me that beforehand or when the drinks were given out? Everything I had to ask and question about. I ended up asking for take out boxes for us because our stomachs weren’t feeling well after eating some of the food. We were at the restaurant for 3 hours, barely ate, left unhappy and they didn’t even care. The bill came out to be really expensive too hence not ordering much and ordering from the happy hour menu

What a wonderful experience and amazing food! Our server was Moon who was extraordinary and very on point with great customer service. For the meal we did the Dinner for two with soup and salad to start, followed with coconut shrimp and gyoza for appetizers, which was all amazing.

The 8 pcs sashimi, 6 sushi and 2 rolls was perfect and well portioned and fresh.

If you haven't been, you're missing out, make it your next dining out.

Went here for lunch with some coworkers and really enjoyed the food and the service. The ramen and sushi were both excellent. Thanks for a great lunch!

Horrible food. I ordered the seafood yakisoba.and got mostly noodles smothered by this horribly salty brown sauce with maybe 5 pieces of seafood that tasted freezer burnt in it for $16.50. Horrible.unhealthy.
Also ordered Japanese Spring roll.thinking fresh clean nice roll.turned out deep fried smothered dripping in frying oil.and given almost same sauce as what was on those horrid noodles. I've been living in Calgary for 5 months.going to restaurants all over the place.this was the most awful tasting food I have had by far.

I feel like the ramen here improved over the past several years. There is also a deal that with ramen, add $3 and get 3 piece sushi with a drink. The sushi was decent (Salmon and tuna were good, surf clam was okay).

I ordered the grilled pork ramen in spicy miso soup and an appetizer (Japanese spring rolls). The soup was tasty but not spicy though. The egg (yolk) that came with it was cold. The hot temperature of the soup broth was not enough to temper the egg. The Japanese spring rolls had a mediocre taste. If not for the dipping sauce on the side, it would have tasted bland. The wait staff was not welcoming nor amiable with her approach. If you are looking to just stave off your hungry tummy for a short time and not be picky, you may visit this place.

Was mir jedoch nicht gefiel: alles etwas schmuddelig und die Herren Toilette war insgesamt nicht sauber. Warum putzt eigentlich niemand die Fenster? Ich hoffe, die Küche.ihr wisst schon
