Tokyo Express has completely lost the plot in terms of pricing. The food quality has not changed over the years, but the price tag is now similar to legitimate sit-down Japanese restaurants, which makes me wonder why anyone would bother with this borderline risky fast food option

The tonkotsu ramen tastes rich and delicious, tempura was served hot and crispy. Pineapple peach drink is really refreshing too, recommended to try. Good ambiance, very warm service. Overall great experience, will definitely come back.

I rarely take the time to write a negative review, but I was severely disappointed by our recent food delivery from Tokyo Express. Despite ordering a beef teriyaki bowl, we were given a chicken teriyaki bowl instead. The chicken teriyaki was soggy, sloppy, and served with far too much sauce. The ramen was exceptionally salty, making it nearly inedible. I have had ramen from countless restaurants over the years, both in AB and overseas (including Japan). Based on this experience, I can confidently say that the ramen from Tokyo Express was the worst I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. We threw it in the garbage (where it belongs).

The rolls were even worse than standard grocery-store sushi. The rice was mushy, soggy, and horribly prepared. We only ate them to avoid wasting all of our money. My stomach was churning for the rest of the night. We will never order from Tokyo Express again, and we will be sure to tell our friends in the area to avoid it.

Our server was friendly. The atmosphere is cool. Food is great, serving is big.
Will definitely come back with the family again.

Coming to Tokyo Express for lunch was an amazing experience. Mike and Mary were very kind and resourceful. My family and I were helped out when ordering and also offered us great drinks from their Tokyo Love Sales line. Overall, it was a welcoming and calm atmosphere that we all enjoyed very much.

Mary was so attentive to our order. Very cheerful and know their product well. She even offered us their new Drinks and its a must try drink.

Always extremely friendly service, great portion sizes and with the speed the food comes out the quality is not compromised. Very much worth it!

I've been going here for over 15 years and it's always a pleasure to order here! The staff are very friendly and capable, and the food is delicious! The Udon Noodle Soup is my absolute favourite, followed by their sushi platters.

Long grain rice in all dishes instead of the short/medium grain rice big turn off. Looks like leftover cooked salmon used in spicy salmon roll. Beef was bland curry sauce had no flavor. Terrible experience. Tokyo express uses to be decent for quick japanese.

Great staff that work there. Especially the crew that was on Monday night, August, 29th. Very friendly and great tasting food. I come all the way from Sherwood Park just to go to this location.

I had gone in with a friend to order take out. We ordered a sushi platter and tempura shrimp. The rolls did not contain the ingredients that were listed in the menu. They gave us one packet of soy sauce and one pair of chopsticks.
I had called the store to provide feedback, thinking maybe they were out of an ingredient and could share this with people in advance. The advice given to me was next time I should ask them to make it correctly and confirm it has the ingredients it should. Next time? No thanks.
Would not recommend this location and wish there was a way to recall tips.

Edit to response: In your reply you say you're sorry the store failed to show the ingredients and they're listed on the takeout menu. In my review, I had said what I received did not match the ingredients on the menu (that I did read). A better response would be to follow up with staff and have them read the menu so the dishes/rolls prepared are correct and match the ingredients listed.or have common sense to see if there are two people ordering you could include more than one packet of soy sauce and chopsticks.
You said the manager offered me a complimentary dish but didn't take my phone or name so how would that be offered? Can people just show up and ask for free food? I live out of town and will likely not go to have another experience like this.

Same dish as before udon noodle soup but no shrimp like I remember and only 4 or 5 small pieces of chicken for 13.99$ more money for less not coming back

Usually their food is decent for a quick bite. This time, they cheaped out on the Japanese sticky rice in their rice bowls and use regular rice. It totally ruined the taste. You've lost our future business and probably many others, just because you want to cheap out on proper rice. Too bad.

Been going to this location for years and it's always been good. All of a sudden there is corn in a Japanese dish? Chintzy with their sauce so it barely covers the measly portion of meat. The portion of the entire meal is down by at least 1/4. I won't be coming back. So disappointed. This used to be a good store.

If I could give zero stars I would! This place is extremely disgusting. The sushi was old and made me sick to my stomach. We ended up throwing out more than half of our food. The floors and tables were sticky and there was hair on our table. The one working bathroom was filthy. The sink and toilet look like it had not been cleaned in days! I am never going back to this place again.

Food was good, staff was very pleasant, unfortunately I can not say the same for the shape the restaurant was in dirty and needs work done

This was our first time at Tokyo Express and we loved it! The large California Rolls were very much enjoyed.

Terrible, I wasn't even sure if the Salmon was real, it was just slime and flavorless. I took almost everything out of the bowl and just ate the rice.

We ordered online and because we were picking up the website said we would get 10% off.
We waited for our meal and when it was time to go in and get it they didnt not make it. The excuse was they were too busy and they missed it.
They didnt even offer any more of a discount other than the 10% we were supposed to get. Terrible customer service
