Tommy Gun's Original Barbershop

We booked online, the estimated time was 25 minutes, which was perfect since we had a 20 minute drive. 5 minutes into our drive a receptionist calls and asks when we will be there, so I explain we are traveling. We get there anhead of schedule and we are the next available appointment (0-2minutes). Two customers leave and they take in two people below our name leaving us waiting. Receptionist lacked communication skill set, struggled to interact with staff. The other staff was unmotivated, lacked communication, certainly no idea how to be in a service industry or manage simple tasks like scheduling. We waited 25 minutes and left as there was no end in sight and no communication. We have been here many times and never been so frustrated and annoyed.

Ali is the best. Only barber I will see and does a great job for my children. Only downside is Tommy Guns could use a better booking system. Would be nice to be able to make appointments further out.

Been here maybe 6-7 times and first time wasn’t great, then got a new girl and she was good. Today I got a apprentice for the secound time and this time wasn’t happy. Simple cut and missed spots, quick hair rinse and that was it. None of the normal things you come to expect from this place. Was disappointed and might have to find a new location now.

One of my sons biggest stress is getting a hair cut, Ali has always show kindness, patient and take his time to understand the needs of kid with special needs!

Booked in with a stylist I like ahead of time on the website, check-in said 0-4 minute wait time. Drive over during my lunch hour to find out it's a 35-45 minute wait. I wasted 20 minutes of my lunch hour driving to/from their location. This is also the 2nd time it's happened in a month. Last time it turned out it was actually over an hour wait. They take no responsibility for the issues with check-in and blame corporate. They also refuse to book you a day in advance with a stylist you like. Not impressed.

ALWAYS great service and attention to detail. They do a great job with getting my beard under control and a hair style that works for me. Good conversation and overall awesome people. Ask for Ali. Check out these before & after pics.

The gentleman who cut my sons hair did an amazing job. Was fast, clean and also was able to have great conversation! He had some great insight on product knowledge as well! I am disappointed I forgot to ask for his name! Would recommend time and time again with this gentleman. My 7 year old son was also very comfortable.

My husband has been going to this location since it opened! All the barbers are great and they always provide excellent service!

Came in looking disheveled and honestly not the best mental state. Megan took care of me and feel like a whole new man. Definitely had a good experience here and will come back agian

Always a pleasant experience no matter who does my hair. Came in a bit late so I was able to have a good chat with some of the employees. Hope their management has improved, not seeing a lot of new faces like I used to. About the 4th or 5th time I've been here. This is now my go-to branch.

Brought my 2 year old son in for a haircut. As everyone could guess he was intermittently cooperative, but the barber (apologies, forgot their name) was so patient with him! My son's haircut looks adorable on him, tangled mess of curls all cleaned up, and no tears. He even gave the barber a hug/snuggle while I was paying the bill lol - thank you for being a kid friendly environment and for your professional and kind treatment of my mini.

I went and got my kids haircuts here. Kim was AMAZING with them. We couldn't have asked for a better barber. I made sure I tipped well. We won't go see anyone else. Price is worth the friendly service, free beverages while we waited, and an amazing job well done! Very very good experience. Thank you so much Kim! Nwiko and Knoxx love the new styles!

I love Tommy goings because of MJ that works there. The one in new seals. She always treats me good and always gives me the best haircut and works on my beard night. She takes her time and she has patience with her clients all the time. That's what one thing I love about her Is she takes care of her clients completely and if there's a problem with your hair or anything she always recommend you to buy this kind of product not to make the sale and stuff. But it's just to help and make sure you look good always. That's one thing I really love about. MJ, Tommy guns picked a good one there for sure

All of the people are awesome there, I haven’t had a bad haircut, I usually get my haircut done by Lil Kim, she does a really good job and has good conversation the whole time!

I really like going to get my hair cut here. MJ is amazing she makes you feel right at home. I never have to tell her how to cut my hair just sit and enjoy. My cut always looks great she is the best. We chat and before long I have the perfect cut. This is the place to go for fun friendly atmosphere with really nice people.

The girls got me in super quick and did a stellar job, they also made recommendations on some hair products which I took them up on. I’m super happy with the great service and experience, I’ll definitely be back!

MJ was great, she is a fun girl that has many stories to tell, and of course gave me a great haircut as well:)

They took me in right away and I received excellent service from the stylist that helped me (Kayla).

Been there twice with zero regrets. Staff are friendly, place is clean, service is fast but not rushed.

Love this place, very polite staff. I usually see Ali and the dude rocks at his job from start to finish.

Went in for a haircut and a beard trim. I didn't get the cut I asked for, and instead of trimming my beard I was given a sales pitch about a "special" shampoo that will help keep my hair.
I was charged $50 for a trim and a shampoo I didn't ask for. It was the most awkward and disappointing haircut I've ever had. I just wanted to get out of there. Considering just shaving my head now.

MJ provided the best head shave I have had at any Tommy Gun's. Don't get me wrong, others have been good, but her experience definitely shone through.

It was my second time at Tommy Gunz the first one is at Sunridge Mall and I went over to East Hills Mall just this weekend and realized the East Hills Tommy gun is a lot more better experience and more pleasing then I will experience that Sunridge and I tell you this much the lady that did it she is very acknowledged and very good I’ve got a free massage out of it LOL and she has blue hair dyed hair and she talks with an accent I can’t remember her name but I would recommend her to anybody that comes there I will give them 10 thumbs up if I had 10 thumbs so on that note don’t hesitate to go ask for the girl the lady with the blue hair and that speaks with the accent I just love her and that’s a first best experience I’ve ever had and I’m gonna go back and ask for next time I go in

My first time there. They got me right in close to closing. Super friendly, nice chairs, tv in the mirror, very nice haircut. $34 which for Calgary is reasonable for a cut and wash.

The haircut took over an hour, and it’s extremely uneven, not layered properly at all. A lot of pieces of hair weren’t even cut or faded properly. Cringeworthy.
Been to this location before and never had issues like this.

Kayla once again did a wonderful job on my son's hair, he went from a shaggy head to a wonderful clean cut that he and my whole family love (we can see his handset face again!). Colin is wonderful to speak to and they are both just the most genuinely amazing people. We will be seeing you again! You both made this momma over the moon happy

I loved the haircut i received from Kayla, she did an excellent job at listening to what i wanted and explained the terminology when i didnt understand. I would recommend her for people seeking out a hairdresser. I know i will be back!

Took my 5 year old son here to get a haircut (which is no easy task because he loathes haircuts for some unknown reason). Jaimie was amazing! She was so patient with him and went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable enough to get in her chair for a haircut. Thank you, Jaimie! We will be back again and again for all of our family cuts.

First time going here. I have to say I really loved the experience the hair dresser was awesome. I went in with my fiance he got a really nice short cut and i went for a pixie cut. It was the first time the hair dresser had cut short hair on a girl and he was quite nervous about it but it turn out perfect!

Love this place and the staff! Have meet so many amazing people and they all do a great job ask for ali or Kayla there probably my 2 favorites here. Just because I know them the best! But everyone here is great come in and enjoy there services and you will fall inlove with this place and the people!

Every person and the service is fantastic every time I go. Not a single complaint here and it's a great cut every time. I always feel refreshed walking out the door, and everyone is very friendly. As far as I know, this is my main place for cuts!

The hairstylist first tries to know your requirements and then start accordingly.
They are pretty knowledgeable & well trained. Hair stylist Natasha, she is just awesome.
Good hospitality, entire team’s awesome.
This will definitely be the to go place for a haircut/styling in Calgary for me.
