Tonic Kitchen + Bar

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Clique and ate every meal at Tonic Kitchen and Bar. Food and drinks were consistently amazing and the service was great. Chicken Tacos were a highlight.

Please pass special thanks on to Mary who's service was a standout.

Tonic Kitchen and Bar has my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a place to eat near the Calgary Airport.

We found ourselves stranded in Calgary. We found a super nice hotel and they were kind enough to allow us breakfast vouchers. We lucked out because we had Anna as our server this morning. The food was great but Anna was amazing! A big shout out to the Tonic Kitchen and Bar. Anna ROCKS!

Holy this restaurant is fantastic! The food is incredible. The clubhouse sandwich is so delicious and full of flavour! Honestly the best sandwich I’ve had in a week of being in Calgary. Highly recommend this restaurant. Staff was super kind and friendly.

Hard avoid. It's amazing with so many options in the area how a restaurant thinks they can get away either terrible service. It is hard to convey just how terrible the service was in general. Granted their were 9 of us, but still, it was a Tuesday, and the restaurant wasn't very busy. Food wasn't very good either, and no one came to check on our food (or fill up our drinks). Hard avoid. I should give them a 1 star, but the atmosphere was decent.

Mary was such a lovely lady. She was very friendly when we arrived. She knew the menu very well and was able to answer questions. She ensured that our coffee was always full and hot. She made sure that our food was hot and good. There was no complaints from us. Thank you Mary for being so lovely.

Nice little place by the airport. Lightning fast food and was very good. Friendly down to earth staff. The tom Colin's cocktails we're recommended and didn't disappoint

This hotel restaurant with its modern ambiance is a great find. Great for travel, business lunches or a date night the ambiance is great. The food is excellent and the service top notch. Anna who served me has a very genuine style and an honest open smile. She is extremely talented at her job.

We really enjoyed our breakfast/lunch. Service was wonderful and food delicious! Mary was attentive at perfect intervals and very kind. We will be back.

Given that it is a bar, the food is great. That's why I gave it 5 stars. If this were a restaurant, obviously, it would be less but still pretty good.

We had dinner and breakfast. The restaurant is very convenient to the airport. Service is fast. We enjoyed our dinner meal more than breakfast. The honey garlic wings were tasty.

Staying at the hotel and have had breakfast here 3 times so far. Food is outstanding and consistent. There was a misunderstanding regarding a breakfast voucher this morning but the manager swiftly made it right without hesitation. Support this place.

I live in Victoria bc. Came to Calgary to nothing but attitude. Mary was the best friendly and smiley. And the food was good too.

What a great experience! We went there March 31 and April 1 for dinner and the food and drinks were great! Yumeko was out server both nights and she was a pleasure to be around. Very personable, stopped by our table just enough times and we both enjoyed our interactions with Yumeko! Thank you for a great time and great food! We will definitely be back!

As someone who has had many experiences in different restaurant in many different countries, I could say I had one of the best services from Yumeko tonight. Very warm, bubbly, friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful with the menus. She went above and beyond to make sure the cocktails matched my pallet and even further matched my meal. The chicken wings and alo Gobi is excellent! Definitely a great place and convenient when staying at the hotel!

Fun and casual spot with very good food at fair prices (decent portions). Service was good but was a bit slow and had to ask for water refill at the end of the dinner. Also had an odd experience when asking for a reservation. The person who answered said they didn’t want to take any more reservations but also expected that tables would be free at the time I requested so recommended that we come in anyway…odd logic to me but was able to get a table so I guess it worked out! The wings were amazing and a highlight for sure, and the green curry with rice noodles was also excellent.

Breakfast was great! Nice to have a restaurant in the facility. The service was great. The food was delicious and plentiful. The price was reasonable, which if one is dining out, one hopes for. The server, Grace, was extremely friendly and cordial and went out of her way to make sure our visit was special. She even tried to help us out on our second visit.

Friendly and efficient service. I had the frittata from the breakfast menu and it was tasty and very filling.

Came for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Place was nice and quiet. Service was excellent and had the Tonic Burger (definitely one of the best burgers in Calgary!).

We recently had a very early breakfast at this restaurant, as we had to catch a plane. We were so pleased that the server took our order immediately, as soon as the restaurant opened at 7 a.m. And the cook prepared our order immediately. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. It was a great start to our day.

My wife and I ordered the fish with Yam fries - delicious every time we come here. Excellent service with friendly and helpful staff. Very clean.

Breakfast is good, it was an inclusion to our stay at the hotel. Had the french toast with bacon and eggs. Hubby had bacon and eggs with regular toast. They only give two eggs and 2 strips of bacon, we wish there was more but its better than nothing. Coffee is refillable, but juice isn't. Our server, Mary Grace gave us excellent service though! She even gave our little one some sliced orange and water. And to go coffee for me! So, thank you!

We had happy hour drinks and dinner here as well, $5 for standard beers, house wines and highballs which were great! Food was good too. I had coconut green curry, very tasty and had good amount of chicken and veggies. Hubby had the angry bear burger, fair sized and yummy as well. Not bad for an aiport hotel restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised.

Mary grace is wonderful. She remembers me every time along with my specific preference on drinks or coffee. She is so kind and I come here to see her!

I want to give it a zero but I can't. So I give it a 1. Terrible service and food. Do not recommend. If you are ever stuck in Calgary you are better off ordering McDonalds through skipthedishes.

The cocktail drinks were very badly mixed, the orange juice tasted like heavily watered down tang (not 100% sure it wasn’t) the fish tacos were too mushy you couldn’t even taste much of anything. The food all came in about 5 minutes and tasted microwaved. The wine was the worst thing I have tasted in my life, the chicken and pasta were dry in the Alfredo, it didn’t taste as bad as the others but the only good thing were the wings. Won’t ever be ordering from them, the price is no where near worth it. The service was good though.

Had the soup and salad combo with a poutine. She brought us both the wrong salad but was quick to correct it when we pounted it out. Overall good service from a nice, happy server. Everyone was very attentive!

Terrible food. Whatever they are calling cheese on the nachos looks like cheese but tastes like cheez whiz. I complained about my meal and no response. Certainly won't be going here again.

The burger was juicy but the fries were soggy. I guess it would’ve been better if I had chosen to dine-in instead if takeout.

I travel a lot for business and I have been at Tonic bar a few times, even though I now stay at another hotel I always come to the Tonic Bar to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. I come there as Nancy your bartender is the nicest, hard working and most attentive bartender I have come across in my travels.
I will be travelling to Calgary next week and I am looking forward to coming in to see your friendly staff and the amazing Nancy as the bartender.

Ordered the green curry on the menu, super salty, not tasty, was actually closer to a pad Thai then curry. Only went because staying the hotel and didn’t feel like going out.

Ugh, the day before my birthday I wanted to treat myself so I ordered a burger and poutine. The burger had a giant black hair in it wrapped all around the patty. I couldn't finish it. Wasn't necessarily 'bad' food as I still ate the chocolate cake, but I won't be ordering again.

Great stakes: we tried New York 10 oz and Ribeye 14 oz: take medium rare with wine (half price on Wednesday night. At the end you must treat yourself with vanilla cheesecake.

Two mains, a side and caesar's were ordered, nothing had any flavour. The galic bread did not have a hint of garlic on it, will not return

Patricia was our server tonight, and I'm not one to leave reviews often, but she completely turned our miserable WestJet experience around. She was so kind and Giggled with us the whole time. It's really nice when someone goes out of their way to be sure you are enjoying your meal. But also chatting and making us feel better. Hey service was perfect, we would come back any time to stay thanks to her great service and by going the extra mile:) thank you for the great stay! Tim:)

Service was a bit slow, but it was Monday morning, breakfast pancakes were wicked. Rest of the breakfast was pretty on par with most chain places. Nothing spectacular. Had the Hanger which is a 3 eggs, toast, bacon, ham and potatoes.

Amazing food! Hard to find a good veggie burger, but Tonic really pulls through! Unfortunately both their chocolate cake and cheesecake had peanuts in it: (I understand how the chocolate could've but I've never heard of a New York cheesecake with peanuts.

My hubby, daughter and I stayed at Applause hotel for our anniversary celebration.we had all our meals at Tonic for 2.5 days and have never had such exceptional food and service! Best food, best waitresses, Babita, Gibcy and Patricia. Thank you for a w ok wonderful restaurant experience! We will be back!

Servings were plentiful, staff were friendly, food was fast (though we came when it wasn't busy) and best of all, it was all hot and tasty. Right next to the airport and way better than you might expect from a restaurant that acts as hotel food services.

Very bad service. The waitress kept caressing her hair and handling food and drinks just disgusting so we cancelled our order after 40 minutes of waiting for it and not wanting her hair all over our food. Should hairnets be mandatory? Or at the very least don't play with your hair while working in a RESTAURANT

It took the bartender awhile to notice me/take my order, but he was very friendly. The service was quick after that. I had the nachos which were okay, but nothing special. They are definitely intended as a group appetizer or to be shared - it's a huge portion. There were plenty of TVs showing a wide variety of games.

The food was excellent and the service I received was 5star, I am definitely gonna recommended this place to all my family, friends and colleagues

We ordered two double drinks, I watched her (the bartender) put them at the bar, she poured about an ounce and a quarter in each. Then she would not pick up a cash payment on the bill. We waited over a half hour for her to do this, she passed multiple times. We ended up pullling back one half of the tip from our payment because of this.

Great service and decently fast food service. The staff are polite and the food is decently priced. I would recommend if you are around the airport and want to visit a not very busy restaurant for lunch.
