Travelodge by Wyndham Edmonton West

You walk into the lobby thinking it’s going to be nice. Our room was in the right side building. Chipped plaster and half painted walls, water stained ceiling tiles all over. In our room the spare toilet paper was the support for a shelf and the overall feeling of the place outside the lobby was grungy. Tub/shower is older than I am and the caulking for it is turning black.

The bed was comfortable.
Air conditioning works good.
The swimming pool is great.

The debit machine didn't work.
The deadbolt screws were loosened.
The window lock was taken off.
Someone kept coming to my door.

The place is convenient as it is in front of a major road being it accessible. Although, the parking is limited, it was not full when we got there. The building looks old and smells like old inside. The lobby also looks dirty and smells like it was not cleaned regularly. The room was prepared nice but I think I got some bed bugs there coz I had some rashes after 2 nights of sleeping there. The room also is spacious for 1 person. The bathroom has a terrible water supply. I am not sure if its because of I’m in the top floor or because of the pool. But the water in the shower is not enough to be use. I didn’t use the pool as it looks like it was not changed for a couple of days already. The front lobby was not kept dry and cleaned as well. It is always wet and needs to be mop.

The front desk service is good. Although the cleaner needs improvement. The breakfast is free but I didn’t enjoyed it as the only option is breads, cereals and waffles. No meat except for boiled eggs which is not appetising. The lady in the breakfast lounge also looks like just woke up from bed and prep the breakfast.

Overall, I am only satisfied with the service and will never come back coz of the facilities and cleanliness.

Found a bed bug.not cool dudes dont go there bc its a disgusting feeling after u find something like that

Upon arrival, we were treated by what looked like homeless people camped outside the lobby doors. Entering the lobby we tried to check in but were constantly interrupted by other guests. Speaking horribly loud (almost yelling) at the Clerks about various concerns. Over 3 times we were interrupted and couldn't hear the Clerk give us directions. Finally, get done and head towards the elevator. There was a haze inside. We thought smoke. Turns out someone hotboxed the elevator with pot. It was a great ride to the 4th floor. The room wasn't any better. It is tiny, out of date, and smelled horrible. We couldn't place the smell. The AC sounded like a jet plane. If you turned it off you had no airflow and it heated up quickly. The bathroom was old and dirty, the shower curtain was torn and the water pressure was horrible. Rain showers have more pressure. On checkout, our price was different than what we were quoted. They weren't able to fix it so we have to wait for the afternoon manager to get in. It is now a week later and we are still waiting to hear back. I'm not holding much faith at this point.

It was too late for us to cancel without having to pay so we stayed the night and cancelled our other nights and booked elsewhere.

Positives: beds were clean and the staff were nice and the price was reasonable.

If you're looking for a loud, out-of-date room with no water pressure and sketchy people outside and inside the lobby this is the place for you! Beware a good price!

Stayed here for a night. The pool and hot tub were awesome. The staff was friendly, the room was clean. And the price was very reasonable.

The place is ok. I paid 246 for a queen bed room for 2 nights. The room was outdated but clean! Service was poor. I asked front desk for an extra pillow, she said they didn't have any. I asked for an extra blanket. She said she would look but never got back to me. I missed bthe complimentary breakfast due to the long line up then they told me they can't serve as it was passed ten. It was 10: 04. My friend had broken her ankle and I was leaving so I popped into the restaurant to ask if they would do room service. The waitress looked apprehensive about it but said yes. My friend could not get through to the restaurant despite calling multiple times. The waitress had one table so not sure why she didn't answer.

Otherwise the stay was ok. The gym is small and cute.

We payed over $300 for 2 nights. Way too much money. The only redeeming qualities about this place is that the staff were friendly, rooms were clean, and the location is great. Mid afternoon of the one day there, there is a loud commotion outside my room, a maid had her stuff stolen off her cart right outside my room (she said a man had been watching her creepily, and when she went to clean, he stole her stuff. CREEPY!) and she was very upset (rightly so, she was not the problem) the problem was I, who already felt unsafe here, felt even more unsafe after that. I did not feel safe ever at this hotel. Our dead bolt on our door didn't work, the handle was constantly getting stuck, keys constantly not working. The breakfast room was tiny, so busy that there was no where to sit so I didn't even stay, I went and bought breakfast somewhere else. Very disappointing considering how much we paid. Will never stay here again, and if you want somewhere safe to stay, this is not that place.

Homeless hanging in the lounge all day, and homeless sleeping in the hallways all night. Smells of cigarettes.

Not a great place. Run down. The pool area is dingy. The rooms are ok but housekeeping does not come around. Stayed 3 nights and they just took out our garbage once. Didn't make beds or clean anything else. Will not be back.

Nice renovations, don't know about anything else, thumbs up on the upgrades. Looks great.

I would recommend it if you're on a budget. Rooms were ok: clean, nice folded towels, but it took time to get hot water. The shower head was obstructed. Front desk stuff was very nice, but the kitchen lady was a bit rude. Free breakfast was missing protein, and the space was cramped. And due to an error, the key for our room was given to other guests so we had someone entering our room at midnight.

WORST HOTEL! DO NOT STAY OR BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE, it's a rat hole of a hotel, right when we arrive, the place smelt like an ash tray, doors had chunks of wood broken off by the looks of a crow bar, walls were filthy, beds were stained and had burn marks, the front desk lady gave us our room key, we opened the door and people were in that room alreadly, garbage all down the hallways and my rooms door didn't even lock, alot of sketchy charters just wondering the hallway staring you down.we got out of there instantly, and found a way better hotel.worst experience OF MY LIFE!

It was just okay. It served the purpose. THE room was clean as was the bed and linens. Have been to many nicer Travelodges.

This hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at the sheets were disgusting the mattress was maybe the worst mattress on this planet there were 5 men in the lobby who were clearly intoxicated and blasting loud music from there phones my room smelt like chlorine I felt like I was going to suffocate there was a huge bleach stain in the hallway and other stains all around the hotel there was mold on the faucet of the sink there was little to no pressure on the shower and there were no amenities this is by far the most dirty hotel I have ever stayed that please head my warning and never book at this hotel

The only downfall is the location. There is a McDonald's Wendy's Timmy's Walmart and a few good places to eat close by. And there is a free breakfast. That's alright, it would be better if they had whipped cream and fruit toppings for the waffles u can make. But there's lots of stuff to have a good breakfast

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, there's anything you could need within 10 min or less and the staff is friendly.
The rooms are old, the beds are SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE and hard, the pillows are very cheap and the walls are so thin you can hear absolutely everything from the room next to you.
The pool is not very clean and it's also pretty small so it's always full wich is kind of gross.
There's barely any water pressure for the sink and shower.
I don't think I would recommend it.

The door to my room malfunctioned 3 times in a row. I was locked out of my room at a time when I was coming back to take my medication on time. The girl at the front desk finally called the maintenance people, but she was very unconcerned and cold about the situation. The maintenence people couldnt actually fix thr door, but instead just showed me how to wriggle the knob whenever this problem occurs. I was oblver 20 mimutes late taking my required medication because I was locked out. I asked to switch rooms, as i was very concerned about getting locked out again, but ibwas told they could not switch my room. The hotel also did not offer me anything to rectify the situation. I definitely do not recommend this facility. They don't care about their guests in the least.

Really great value! Nice rooms, nice pool, great staff. My only suggestion would be to clean the hallways. Housekeeping throws sheets, towels and rags out of the rooms while cleaning and by 5: 00 PM it was all still there. Just looks yucky

For someone who stays in alot of hotels, this was by far the worst stay in any Travelodge, housekeeping is not even sub par, like you have 1 job and the rooms are so small so what are they doing, to be greated by bloody kleenex on the floor and hair all over every fabric in that room, was disgusting. Front desk staff were less than useful so many more options around the this area, would NOT recommend this hotel

The worst decision ever to stay in this hotel as i forget my laptop over there and i called and visits them three times and they are denying that they haven't found it So i don't recommend this hotel not even dealing is good

They say they are wheelchair accessible, however they do not have wheelchair accessible rooms. Staff was courteous and polite.

Very upset with our stay, hard beds and poor pillows, the room wasn't cleaned, there was hair die left in the room from the last person that stayed in it, had no control on the temp even though there was a thermostat in the room. Will never stay there again very unhappy.

Picked it solely for the waterslide advertised, for the 3 kids. Drove into town to find out the waterslide did not work. Expected warm breakfast, got cold, harboiled eggs with no side dish (bacon/ham/sausage) Only 6 tables available to eat for breakfast at, so they offered to have us sit in unfurnished suites down the hall where the washrooms had no soap. Will not return.

Updated @2022: Never say never. Returned with lower expectations. Pool in working order, but cold. Breakfast was the same, would benefit from cozier breakfast room, warm dishes: scrambled eggs/bacon/sausage.

In short: if you just need night sleep over and move on that hotel is ok (not OK). Room was dirty: carper wasnt vacuumed well, behind the bed it was hell dirty and looks like no one even clean that area for decades, the smoke alarm in the room was broken and falling apart, light in the bathroom did have burned bulb and was somehow crooked.maybe they tried to fix the bulbs and couldnt finish that.jejeje. The vent above the tub was missing screw holder and seems it was ready to hit your head, under the sink the floor was dirty, table in the room was dirty.seems the room service was eating just before you checkin.jejeje. Seems that hotel does NOT have a maneger supervising the room service at ALL! Breakfast was a joke. At night there is a problem to see the hotel as the sign does NOT work in full power! This hotel must be rated as 1 star only! Dont stay over there, too dirty!

Find another place to stay, an absolute mess of a hotel, I'll be going home to shower that is forsure.

I booked this hotel before reading reviews. I seen a review online saying their sheets were dirty so I checked my mattress.what I found disgusted me. Both mattresses in the room were dirty. It was moldy and looked like it had bed bugs. I went to the front desk and demanded another room. The front desk clerk was very rude. He gave me a card to a new room. I told him I wanted it inspected to make sure it was clean, he said I could do it my self. Upon checking the second room it was just as nasty as the first. I checked out right away. Owen the front desk clerk was condescending wouldn't look at me while I was talking to him and refused to give me the managers number. Extremely disgusted and frustrated with travel lodge will never rent from Wyndom hotels ever again. Very unprofessional

No hot water in bathroom sink. No water pressure in sink or shower. Curtains had holes. Couch had huge brown burn type stains. Window had a huge type spider crack / looked like a rock or bullet hit it. Air Conditioner didn’t work. Bed frame was broken. Light bulbs were burnt out. Fridge had no temperature control. Everything was freezing. Overall condition of hotel VERY VERY POOR! I know it was a budget hotel but still we paid to stay there!

Terrible experience - Room smells so bad, Also (King) bed is not comfortable at all. I paid 105$ to spend one of the worst night of my life. When I woke up in the morning my lower back was sore plus it was no hot water in the 5th floor as I was trying to wash my face - so I left without even washing it - Tub has a low water pressure and water was leaking from the spout at the same time - I could hear Dogs barking all night from the outside - Windows are old and cheap and even when they closed firmly you still can get noise from the outside. I would never go back there.

Very run down room, lap shades stained and rotten, door lower end smashed in, window screen held on with scotch tape. Very dangerous on the second floor. Drawers that don't close. Hallway stinks like cigarettes. Grounds have garbage, crack pipes. Dog area unkept. A child climbed up the ladder to the roof and was playing with the satellite dish! No one was around to tell for 15 minutes. Very dangerous. Hot tub had a yellow color and messy area. Not impressive at all We would have left if the room was refundable.

Room is small but ok for one night. For breakfast there was only toast, bagels and waffle. It’s between 6am-10am. I would advise to go early. The water in the shower was not that hot.
