Trico homes built our dream home in locality of Carrington. There sales team provided all the needed information and provided some wonderful suggestion based on their experience. Big shout to their Sales and construction team for completing the house well on time.

After simply being priced out of the market in NW Calgary, my wife and I decided to look in Cochrane. The Trico show-home, with Gwenn as sales representative was our first stop, and we were immediately impressed by their designs, finish and comprehensive introduction to the Trico new-home purchasing process.
We decided on one of their quick possession spec homes and so happy we did that. The final walkthrough was a breeze and all the technical things were explained to us in detail by Keith and Peter.
There are a number of features and finishes, that came with the house, which would otherwise cost a considerable amount to add to a new build project if selected.
After living in our new Trico home for the last seven weeks, it became clear that a lot of consideration went into the design and finish. Here are a few that stand out (there are more) :
- nine-foot ceiling height for the basement
- 200A electricity feed to the house (not sure if all new homes have this)
- under cabinet lighting in the kitchen
- motion sensor light switches in the mudroom, laundry and closet
- headers over all common area doors
- tankless water heating
- energy-efficient appliance selection

We are so pleased to have ended up buying a Trico home.

Buying a house from Trico was an outstanding experience. From the first rep to the last, all were thoroughly professional. Whenever I contacted the team for any querries, I was promptly answered with complete clarity. Even after taking possession of the house, if I encountered any problem (which were very minor and few) they were handled very promptly and a resolution found quickly. I can say with 100% surety that If I ever buy another house, it will only be from Trico. Rest assured Trico is t he way to go.

Trico Homes is extremely difficult to deal with. I highly recommend you do not work with this builder. From the very early stages there were issues with incorrect accounting (which they admitted was incorrect) to completely unacceptable building quality. They did not build the home per agreed blueprints however, they refer to that when it works in their favour however when it isn't, they say otherwise. I would write a more exhaustive review however it would be far too long to encompass a complete list of frustrations and horrible experience with this builder. Stay away from them. If you use them, be prepared and have a good lawyer on hand.

With respect to their reply - Theresa is the exact person I've been dealing with. No results. I stand by my first statement - stay far away from this terrible builder.

Brand new unit. Sound proof walls I guess coz I don't here anything from the other units. Clean and well maintained condo building.

My advice for people in the market looking to build, if you want disappointment definitely build with Trico. Our experience was far from good. From the sales team to the supervisors/manager, vendors used by Trico as well as design centre and now dealing with warranty department is a nightmare. As there’s still things outstanding and still have no idea when they are getting dealt with, like the hot water tank, we paid for a bigger upgraded water tank, turns out they installed a much smaller one which barely gets hot water through the house, I had to find out myself that the tank was the wrong size they didn't even know the wrong one was installed, so I guess if I never said anything we would have been ripped off. We have been in the house for 3 months now, for a lot of people, us included, this is the biggest purchase of our lifetime and we are trying to look past all the headaches and disappointments we have had and make the best out of it. But it's really hard when we are starting to noticed the house quality is simply not good. Their standard finishings and products used are okay and some will eventually wear down so bad that we will have to replace them (the carpet being one of them) We are a young couple with a new baby starting out and our dollars can only be extended so far, we couldn't have upgraded every single thing in the house, even then upgrading things doesn't always guarantee us a great product. We bought NEW for a reason right. There's a lot of finishing issues, unpainted spots, siding already coming off, cracks inside drywall and window trim, master closet falling down by not being properly secured to the studs, alarm company not installing our alarm system how we suggested/wanted it, instead they did whatever they thought was good enough. Be ready to spend extra money on upgrades and fixing things that should be covered under warranty, for instance we also paid for AC rough ins during the build thinking we would be a step ahead and save some money as well, I have been trying to get AC quotes from different companies and it turns out that they want to charge me to redo the AC rough ins as tricos rough ins are not standard across the board therefore what we paid trico to do was a complete waste of money and now we still have to pay a big chunk of money to get AC installed. I find it kind of hard to believe the warranty department will ever help us out with any future issues while on warranty, they have already refused to fix the closet that fell apart as they believe it was our fault. We are not the only ones disappointed and frustrated. Often when we talk to people around the community and share our story there has been a lot of negative feedback about trico's homes as well.
We do not recommend Trico and we will never use them again in the future.

We are first time home buyers and Trico was very professional in from Sales (Will is awesome and very friendly). To execution. We thought our house will be delayed but it was built on time. There were some deficiencies discovered post possession but despite material shortages they were timely resolved. Their standards were pretty good for a starter home. Would recommend this Builder

I have purchased new builds in the past and this is our first single detached home we have ever purchased and built. Erica Lowe was our sales person and she was just amazing. I have nothing but good things to tell my family and friends. We just past our one year warranty visit on our home and the after sale service is on point. One thing I have to complain about is the kitchen cabinets, Kingswood has been delaying in replacing our cabinet pieces and they even took a few pieces for color matching. Overall, we are happy with our new home. Thank you Carrington team for making this home purchasing so stress free and smooth

While we were on the stages of finding a builder 2-3 years ago, Trico wasn't on our list. Other homebuilders' floor plans had too much "upgrades" involved. Though it may look cheaper, there were upgrades that you just have to get. We were amazed with Trico's base floor plans as it looked like it already is upgraded (Ceiling height, Windows, etc.) and so we went ahead with them. I believe, at that time, it was the best value for the money.

Erica L.was our main point of contact during this process. It was our pleasure to be working with her with most of the process. She was patient, smart and understanding with us and we're happy to recommend her and the team whenever possible.

Building a home with Trico Homes has been a great experience so far. I love that Trico has preview nights at their design studio which allowed us to figure out our interior selections ahead of time. My husband and I used Trico Homes for our first house in Calgary, and our experience has been phenomenal, The prompt response, the attention to details, and the expertise is second to none. Trico is really a good builder.

Overall, building with Trico was a good experience. Our home is wonderful (Oxford), however I found the communication to be quite lacking. We felt a little left astray for a lot of the project, not really knowing what to expect next, or even an idea of a possession date (without pestering).

We have been moved in for over a month and are just having our driveway poured now. I also only found out once the forms were in, that there is no step poured, around the side entry for our legal basement suite. Had we been advised of this, we would have taken the opportunity to think it through and pay for this in the mortgage. This is my one major complaint, but in the scheme of things, is minor when we walk into our home each day.

Everyone from the sales, design centre, build, and warranty departments were great at helping us along the way. Staff were all friendly and personal in a way that new home builds should be.

As first time home owners, we felt confident in all our decisions and our final product in the end. Everything was completed with good quality. As far as new home builds go, the only issues we have had are the ones that come with new construction and seasonal changes. We purchased a Trico Show Home in Midtown, Airdrie from away. We moved in in November and have had a great experience with Trico. Sure we had a few issues, but Trico responded quickly to all our requests. The house is now our home and we thoroughly enjoy the area with proximity to everything you could ask for. The home is well built, was easy to heat this past winter, and is solid. I would not hesitate to recommend Trico to anyone looking for a new home.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Horrendous Service & Warranty personnel, and lack of customer service. Don't set your expectations too high, if you do accidentally decide to build with them! They really don't care about customer service after your sale is over. They are inconsiderate and have no values towards their customers. Be prepared to have nothing but problem's in your Newly Built Custom Home.

My spouse and I purchased a home from Trico and have been living in it for a month now. I am so pleased with working with George and Johnna. They made the process so easy and fun for our first big home purchase. All my calls or emails were answered in a timely fashion.

The Trico Team did an excellent job in helping me build my first home.
As a young first time home buyer I was treated with respect, unlike other builders. Trico answered all of my questions quickly and gave me all relative information. For anyone buying their first home I would recommend going through Trico.

Bought a Trico built townhouse in a quite expensive area in the SW, and took possession on October 31 2020. The previous owner had taken possession in December of 2018, so the home was barely lived in when we purchased. A couple of weeks ago started noticing water leak in my attached garage right on the wall that's shared with the inside of the unit. Not knowing where the water was coming from, I contacted the condo management company who was quick to respond and sent a restoration contractor who came in that same day and checked things out. They decided that they need to come back the next day and cut up a piece of the garage wall to identify the source. When having the conversation with the condo management rep, he mentioned that if the source of the water was from within the unit, we will have to be responsible for the repairs because we're past the one year warranty. Our concern was to get whatever is going wrong fixed asap to minimize the damage. So the restoration company came back the second day and cut up about 2x2 in 2 spots of the garage drywall and saw that the water is dripping from the ceiling which concluded that the leak is coming from inside. It was recommended that we get a plumber to take a look and pinpoint the source, which we managed to do that same afternoon to minimize the damage. The plumber came in and had to cut up another piece on the inside ceiling of that same wall and another piece in the same wall upstairs. He found the problem: it was a defective Tee that was used when the townhouse was originally built and it had been seeping water for a long time to the point where it was badly calcified. He fixed the problem by installing a 90 degree piece that joins all 3 water pipes in that wall and indicated that he was very surprised that the original installation wasn't a similar one like the one he did. Obviously it was poor workmanship and water had been seeping through for a long time.
I then emailed the pictures and the plumber's report to the condo rep so he can contact Trico, which he did and the response we had is that we're past the TWO yr warranty.so first it was one year, and not it's 2. I asked to speak to them directly to the Trico contact which I did and she also refused to take responsibility of this issue, and indicated that if we had hired the plumbing company (HOOVER) which is the company that did the original installation, THEY would've done it under warranty. I asked her how were we supposed to know that HOOVER was the company to call. She replied that she had mentioned that to the condo rep but it was a day late 'cause we had already fixed the leak. I also got the "I understand your frustration" BS, but doesn't change the fact that we now have to fix 2 walls, 1 ceiling, in addition to what we paid for the plumbing company cost. Furthermore, we're now worried that there might be other plumbing issues that might come up at some point. A townhouse that cost 460K should NOT have plumbing issues 2 yrs later. Trico does NOT stand behind their work or their contactors' work. What a disappointing experience!

The quality and craftsmanship of the home is evident in both the interior and exterior of our place.
We've also been really pleased with all Trico staff that we have dealt with. All home inspections and reviews have been taken care of properly and efficiently. Any issues have been dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.

My wife and I had been searching for a home in Seton for a couple years already before we found Trico but it didn't take us long to determine they were the right fit for our needs. We walked into the showhomes and immediately were in aw. The sales staff were incredibly nice and quite knowledgeable about most things that we asked (we did have a million questions for them so KUDOS). Their homes had so many great INCLUDED design choices which is what mainly contributed to going with Trico over any other builder in the area. There were a few hiccups and a couple miscommunications a long the way but every person that we spoke with from Trico was always willing to help us find resolutions to anything that came up. I've already started recommending to my family and friends to build with Trico and will continue to do so. We are very pleased with our new home.

There was a large leak on the main floor in my walls. After tearing apart several walls I found the source of the leak. There was a nail from the upstairs floor board that had pierced a water tube. This is an obvious trades error. Unfortunately the tube didn't burst until after my warranty. Trico will not help with any of the damages and I am on the hook for thousands of repair fees.

Designed and built with Trico. They had a lot of choices and we were able to get the style of house and interior design that we wanted thanks to that. They also have a design studio where you go in and pick out most of your interior design. Really enjoyed the entire process and would do it again with this builder.

We purchased our home from Trico Homes sometime in August 2020. We practically loved the house upon first visit, everything about it was appealing from the spaciousness of the space, the design, the color palette, the finishing to the gadgets installed. It's easy to see the attention to detail put in by Trico Homes in building Homes. Of course I would have been happier if the home had personal outdoor parking for each unit, but definitely wasn't a deal breaker for Us). Keep up the great work Trico Homes!

Pleasant experience building with Trico homes. We bought in July 2020 and able to take possession in December of 2020. The process was smooth, communication was good, and the service was as expected. The builder was able to meet our pre-estimated possession date and ensured that any additional services required were scheduled for future dates. All in all a good experience as a first time home buyer.

My partner and I went to one of Trico's properties, located in the SW and met with one of their leasing agents, Gustavo. He is one of the best leasing agents we've dealt with and was so professional and knowledgeable about the building it made us want to move-in ASAP. He was very patient with us looking at different units and answered all our questions honestly. I would recommend taking a look at their properties and hopefully you are lucky enough to get to meet Gustavo! He made the whole thing such a breeze and we felt so good coming out of our tour/meeting.

We built a new home with trico in late 2020. The experience was great whrn dealing with trico. The sales people were all so helpful and very responsive. We got possession of our house soomer than originally anticipated, which was awesome. We had some issues after moving im, which was expected with a new build, but trico staff have ALWAYS bern so helpful in dealing with the problems quickly and efficiently.

Although Trico has some beautiful homes and Shawna was responsive, she had made several verbal and written commitments for certain upgrades to be at no cost when we were trying to negotiate the final price. After she sent over the quote, we showed her these past e-mails and conversations, where she then went back on everything she had previously offered.

This made us extremely hesitant to build a home with Trico and we felt it was extremely unprofessional, dishonest and a waste of time.

I purchased home with Trico Developers last year. In the last one year, I couldn't be more amazed with the overall customer service I was provided with. The team is professional and very compassionate. I couldn't find any issues with the workmanship and quality of the home. The warranty service was superb and all my emails and requests were entertained in a timely fashion. Trico will be my choice again in case i decided to build a new home in future. Highly recommended.

We only recently purchased our home from Trico, like weeks and already I feel they made the sale and the rest they just don't care! We have out kitchen faucet leaking since day one. We have quickly found out reaching the warranty department is or has been quit a task! Not even a response saying they received our request! Will keep you updated on how this ends. NOT HAPPY!

We recently purchased a spec home from Trico. The sales team were very pleasant to deal with and made the home buying experience a breeze. We had some issues regarding some minor paint touch ups and grading around the house before our move in date, but everything was fixed before we moved. Horrible work ethic, horrible quality, horrible communication. We had Trico build on the property beside us. After trashing our property and having to clean up the builders garbage ourselves, we then spent 6 weeks calling Trico begging them to fix the grade on our property that they damaged and didnt fix. 6 weeks of run arounds and excuses or ignored phone calls made me glad I didnt buy with Trico. It finally took our Stepper manager calling them to get it fixed. In a buyers market with plenty of choices, their standard should be much better. Our lovely neighbours who moved into the Trico home, have reported nothing but issues dealing with Trico. In contrast we have had nothing but good experiences with our builder, Stepper. Do better Trico!

They actually deliver what they show. Best house designs and amazing/helping team to give responsibility of your new home. Very good upgrade options and after sale service.

My wife and I just took possession of our custom "built for us" Trico home and couldn't be happier. Ryan was awesome to work with during the planning stage and quickly and patiently answered all our questions during the building process. Clayton, Gary and Theresa have also been great to work with post possession. We did explore other options for a new build however chose Trico for quality and value.

My husband and I bought a Trico home in Crestmont. From the beginning until the end Kelsey was amazing to work with and made our whole buying process so much easier. We compared it with jay man built but the location and bottomless water tank and solar system, triple layered window panes was not worth the community we got in through Trico, we are big fans.

Eric was terrific to work with during the whole process, he did not pressure us into making any decisions, was excellent in communication during the whole process and was able to answer all of our questions in great detail. We Love our new Trico home! Our sales Representative Henry was Great! He put up with so many questions and concerns. He was Amazing at guiding us through the process of doing our first home build. The Construction supervisor John was very helpful in doing a very professional job of addressing any concerns during the build. The Design center was Incredibly helpful in leading us through all the complexities of creating a very comfortable living space. It was a long process but the end result was well worth the wait!

My wife and I had looked at a few newly built lots, then she saw the opportunity to view our present home and we were both pleasantly surprised, she could better visualise in 3-D and I in 2-D, but we were both surprised by the level and attention to details. The finishing was superb, and the design was a complete fit for purpose of our family size and demography. We decided on it quickly.

We’ve had friends and family come over and the house speaks for itself, someone recently asked if we had buyer’s apathy, …No, not by a long shot. The team at TRICO have been wonderful, always feels like they are not far away.

The TRICO property for us, was a wise and opportune choice and we would not hesitate to recommend the builder to anyone wanting a well-built home.

A roof drain has been installed across my front entrance walkway which is a safety hazard. We have to cross over the drain pipe to enter into our home. I explained it to them but no one wants to relocate it to save us from trip and fall. To relocate the drain, it would not cost them more than 15 minutes but they are so stubborn that they said it is good and as per City Standards.
I will contact City now to ask how come they talk about safety as being considered a top priority and who will be responsible if an accident occur.
I will advise all potential buyers to think twice before buying house from Trico.

I'm not even going to go into detail because all I see here are a plethora of excuses from Trico defending their honour and details of people's personal situations shared by them which is extremely unprofessional.

I have the worst experience with Trico. Completely different when they are selling than when you actually bought it and facing problems in the house. They never fixed my issues and when I contact them they said its already fixed and now you have passed the time period so we cannot do anything. Worst worst worst

Thanks to the team at TRICO, Andrew and Madison, Ryan and Tim, who supported us through our first experience of a new house build, we survived! They helped the house on paper become a home in reality. During the early stages of the purchase process, we were able to customize the floor plan to meet our specific needs. Andrew was careful and detail-oriented in his approach to ensure our requests were achievable. He and the team communicated efficiently to keep us within the deadlines and sent us weekly photo updates of the construction in progress. As we didn't know what to expect as first-time new home buyers, we really appreciated the response time to our questions and openness to make changes. The design team was equally supportive; their suggestions steered us into making the right selections which are now evident in our home - they're beautiful! We are grateful to those at TRICO who made our experience a pleasant and positive one and who continue to support us through this first year. Of course, there have been those "we should have. " and "why didn't they. " moments that are all part of the learning curve. TRICO's standards of professionalism are high as is the quality of their workmanship and finishing. We have no hesitation in recommending them for this new house to home journey!

We bought the House from Trico and it’s excellent. In addition, their customer service is fantastic as they try to fix stuff promptly as it’s a new house so some minor fixings.

I built a oxford model in Belmont just 2 months ago. I am so lucky building my first home with Trico homes. Some people say building a house is so stressful because they have to choose everything from the bottom to the Top by themselves but every step was so easy and fun to me and my wife. Staffs are so kind and knowledgeable and so punctual. If you have a plan to build a house but don’t know where to start, just visit them. These guys will help you with smile.
