Definitely would recommend Dan and his team for any BMW repairs. I’ve taken my vehicle to other shops claiming to be proficient with European vehicles and have ended up causing us more headaches with non BMW parts.

So I'd like to start by saying I am an avid DIYer, especially when it comes to my vehicles. That being said I have brought both of my BMW's to Triska, and both times I could not be happier with the results. Even on my last visit I brought a total basket case example of a 3 series, plagued with issues and he got it running and driving within 6 hours. From the very beginning he was very transparent with the work being done and the options we could go with, even offering a cheaper alternative which would save me a ton of money in the end. Even though I do most of the work myself this is the only shop I trust taking my vehicles to and 100% recommend Triska to anyone in the Edmonton area.

No fluff diag and repair. Brought in my F30 340ix to replace a damaged and leaking lower temp rad. Greatly appreciated the open/honest communication and value from the team here. Quick and painless. Car's running like a dream again and I'll continue to come here for any maintenance/repairs.

On several occasions Dan has given me honest advice, this has avoided many services that would other have been charged to me.
He's an honest guy.

He has an online booking service with one hour slots throughout the day but after booking ypu are meet with a message that all vehicles must be dropped of at 9am. There is a section for comments so I left one saying "I live an hour out of edmonton and have to drop kids off at school then on my way. If there is an issue with this please call and let me know. " I showed up at 10: 15 since I did not recieve a phone call to be told by the owner that he had a personal appointment at 11 and wouldn't even look at my car until after lunch. I understand being busy and I understand he is a small shop but why would you have bookable slots if you want everyone there at 9am? I was told he troubleshoot all vehicles in the morning one after another then calls about the issue. That is a good way for a company to rack up a bill while doing very little work, how can he keep accurate times of how long you were on the hoist? The dealership might be slightly more expensive but they treat you like your time is actually valuable, not secondary to his.

Complete garbage tell me one.price then another say he do somthing then does partway and charges extra. I would never go there again

I brought my 2008 BMW Z4 in for what I was told from another shop was a steering angle sensor fault. Dan was able to diagnose the issue and obtain the part quickly. As a result I saved a lot of money from not replacing a part that was not at fault. Dan is friendly and he answered my questions, he also gave me an honest opinion on several items. Trust and honesty is what I value most and that is why I will be going back when the time comes.

Dan was very honest and fair with my new whip. He went over and above and took the time to explain everything in detail. Will definitely be back and would most certainly recommend him to my closest friends or family. 10/10

Triska automotive in Edmonton be aware when using their service.

Horrible owner. Sold me a pair of custom made sub boxes for my z3
He said they were specifically designed for them. I paid a lot of money for them. I bought them at triska automotive. He said to pay cash or etransfer so I e transferred him the money.

The next day I took them to JB automotive and got an amp installed and they plugged the wires into them.

The boxes were fibreglass and not designed properly. They need more fibreglass as there is a bad rattle from Being to thin.

The professional installers said they could fix them for an hours labour

I reached out to Daniel expressing my concern and he said you paid cash, do have a receipt. You dropped them I am not doing anything about this.

Daniel didn’t even take the time to allow me to come by and show him the issue. He basically said to bad you paid cash you have no receipt I am not Walmart I am not taking anything back with out a receipt. He than told me the boxes were used and not new and that is another reason why he won’t look at the issue.

Very unprofessional I would highly recommend not taking your car here as he clearly doesn’t stand behind his product or his work.

He indicated that I looked at them on the spot, yes I did but I didn’t have an amp installed to test rhem and that Daniel Triska assured me they were workin and that they sound so loud it’s to much to handle.

He did say he had the boxes wedge behind his seat as he was a larger gentleman so there was room

The installers at jb automotive did say when the boxes are wedged tightly they do not rattle. Which maybe explains why he told me to wedge them between the back and seat

He will respond saying it’s a cash private deal and all Sales are final and that I damaged it. Shows you the integrity of this shop

I have occasionally gone to Dan for a number of years. Since he operated outside of Edmonton, then north side, then south side. He has gotten worse, both with prices and poor diagnosis. Hes quick to run up the bill, as well as give some bad advice.

As someone else posted basically BMW dealer prices.

Your bill will be on the high end here for the same work, and do not fully trust everything your told.

Their are Much more trustworthy mechanic places to take your car.

I used this mechanic probably five or 6 times over 6 years, but I will not ever go there again.

As a footnote
When more than one gasket fails, ie oil pan, valve cover, Think PCV valve, also known as ccv valve, gasket failure is a symptom not a cause. Otherwise gaskets just need to be done again.

If you have a BMW, this is the place where it needs to go. I had a couple of issues on a X5 3.5D related to brakes and suspension and Dan dealt with the issues in quick and professional manner. Issues were resolved and the car is better than ever. He also serviced an X3 that I own and showed same great level of service. Highly recommended

I have been dealing with Dan for years. He is extremely skilled, quick to turn the job around and his honesty and transparency is very appreciated as that is very hard to find in the automotive industry!

Lessons Learned: People think if they skip going to BMW dealership it would help save some bucks, not in this case. Not sure what kind of parts they put in but their definitely higher than BMW itself. The same with labour, they fix it longer than the dealers. The owner said if I get a better pricing he’ll match it. Yeah I guess. If I didn’t have a quote from BMW I didn’t know they overpriced. Diagnostic was somehow get charged but it was not in the previous invoice, hmmm. Workmanship? I have yet to see. The only reason why people go to place like this is they think they save money. Why go to place like this if you get cheaper from actual dealer. Just saying! Sad to say but never again.

I had just purchased a hard-to-find 2001 BMW 740 M Sport. I took the car in to Dan at Triska Automotive to have it assessed and inspected for insurance purposes. I knew the car would need some work. The car is in great shape but the ride was noticeably a little rougher than it should be.
Dan did a thorough inspection and told me the car needed some rear end parts replaced along with some front end parts.
At first I was a bit skeptical as I hadn’t been to that shop before. Dan took me in and showed me the components that needed to be replaced and explained why. I told him to go ahead with the work.
Upon completion, I picked the car up.
The car felt like it should. Both the handling and ride quality felt great. The car felt like a different car.
My experience dealing with Dan was excellent. He was patient with my skepticism and doubt. He handled himself professionally and completed the work in a timely manner and the final cost was as quoted.
This car is my third BMW and I have dealt with other shops in the past.
I would highly recommend Dan at Triska Automotive to take care of your repairs on your BMW.

These folks are very good at what they do. They will tell you the way it is after diagnosis and strive to give you best price.

Good honest shop. I've taken a few vehicles here and my issues were always resolved. A lot of bmw repair shops to choose from, but this one is probably the best in the city.

Good but expensive they charge you for every little thing.not sure if I'll go back or Just go to a dealer ship.

Dan was awesome. I came in from out of province to look at a 135i, he was able to get it in within minutes of our phone call for the ppi and was incredibly thorough.
He id'd a potential issue with the battery that helped in my negotiation and was able to accommodate me at short notice the following day to swap out and code the new battery at a price much lower than the dealership quote.

Dan, is the most qualified BMW expert in Alberta! Fair prices, quality service, and most of all able to explain what needs to be done. Highly recommend Dan!

Dan seems to be a great mechanic. Prices are fair and he's a nice person to deal with. I will definitely continue to take my car to him and to recommend Triska automotive.

I was considering buying an M5 from the Edmonton area and needed someone to inspect the car and provide me a fair assessment. This was especially important because I was from out of Province. Dan inspected the car and spent 45 minutes on the phone going over the car, his findings and impressions. He answered all my questions and provided the comfort I needed before buying airline tickets. His quote was also reasonable on some minor work that needed done. Once in Edmonton, I took the car back to Dan who performed the work, and had me on my way in no time. Dan knows his cars and certainly knows his BMW's. I like the attention of a smaller specialty indy as opposed to larger shops. Dan certainly delivered and seemed to have my interests at heart instead of pushing unnecessary work.

I brought my car in for a brake service. They did a very good job and the price was reasonable.
