Tru by Hilton Edmonton Windermere

The beds are soft, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly but did not ask how my stay was before I paid. I would have said it was great besides the floors in my room were not clean, the toilet seat fell off onto my foot and the plastic bag they leave in the room for you to use was sooo dirty! It had food stains on it. If they cleaned up a bit it would be a great stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Tru by Hilton's well-equipped gym and inviting swimming pool. Both facilities were in great condition and contributed to a fantastic stay. What's even better is that the hotel offered all this at an impressively low price, making it an excellent value for guests.

The Tru by Hilton had a pool table in the lobby, which was a fun feature for guests. Its convenient location off the highway made it an ideal choice for us, offering easy access to their destination. Good breakfast rooms are clean and new.

Reserved on Booking and when I arrived at 1 am the system wouldn’t allow access to the room.the front desk was in no hurry to resolve the issue. He couldn’t unlock the door even though he had the reservation on his system paid and confirmed. I sat in the lobby waiting and then after 1 hour he cancelled the reservation and said he can’t rebook it, “there is another hotel across the street check with them”. I have to deal with booking for the refund.

The 'TRU' brand has a cool modern vibe, and this newer hotel conveys that.

Our experience here is not so 'cool'.

Stayed here on July 22nd and everything was good to start. It's 10: 45 PM, the two kids are sleeping, I am laying in bed, and the wife just finished bathing and was getting for bed.

All of a sudden, the door to our room is opened, and a lady starts to enter the room with her luggage. My wife yelps with a startle, as she is not in proper clothing yet.

The lady entering to room immediately starts to apologize, stating 'OH MY GOD, they checked us into a room that was taken'

After settling the spooked wife and kids, the room phone starts to ring. Upon answering the phone, nobody on the line. This happens once more before I am able to answer the phone and actually talk to the front desk.

They ask me come down as there was a mix up with the room. Keep in mind this is 11: 00 PM at night now.

After 25 mins in the lobby they figure there was a glitch between the check in on the app and the room assigned to me. I told them I wasn't switching rooms, they had checked me in there, and I asked for the manager to call me in the morning. The response from the staff was almost like it happens all the time, that it really wasn't a big deal.

It's now July 29th (a week later) and I haven't heard from the manager. Terrible customer service. It's a shame because usually Hilton hotels are fantastic at the one thing that counts most, serving your clientele.

Rooms are clean and functional. There's a mini fridge and iron/ ironing board. Toiletries are in cylinder shaped dispensers mounted on the wall. Rooms were bright and clean. Beds had 3 pillows instead of 4 but worked out ok. There's breakfast in the morning till 9am but haven't tried it yet.

Booked for a family trip to Edmonton for my daughter's birthday. Specifically chose this do to price and pool. Got in and was told the pool was closed. No one said a thing prior. We were told we would receive a discount due to the issue.

Get to the room and they are tiny. No closet, barely room to walk. Beds are horrific and pillows are the same. Reason it's cheap seems to be they spent no money on comfort.

Breakfast was pretty good overall for a buffet breakfast. Facility overall wasn't overly clean but not terrible.

Would never stay again due to the horrible beds and the fact I was told I'd receive a discount and am still trying to get ahold of the manager as no discount has been given at this point. I'll be going up the chain until I get what I was told.

Pros: new hotel
Cons: no microwave in the room, no storage space in the room, no closet, bed is not soft, lobby only spot for microwave but only one, pool is cold and pool has no shower, if you have food they won’t store food for your.

The rooms are small, with little storage/hanging space and no in-room microwave, coffee or tea options. You can go downstairs and get those things but the water for tea is lukewarm. The pool is cold and with no hot tub it is not suited for little people. There is no restaurant but you can purchase some food and drink options at the front desk. They do have a free breakfast but not much for healthy options.

In our room, most of the floor was cupping so it made a very loud squishing sound when you walked on it. The black out blind was broken leaving 18" of window exposed allowing bright light to enter all night long. The bed platform was broken so when you rolled over it banged. The soap dispensers, although a great concept, are hard to squeeze and the soap is horrible. Posted on the your bathroom mirror is a great laundry list of what they will charge you with if you damage anything but nothing about what they will refund you if you stay in a room with damages. Please do not insult me further by saying you had no idea!

I stayed in another Edmonton hotel 4 weeks earlier for cheaper, with larger rooms, nothing broken and with all the amenities I believe were missing from this hotel.

One of the best hotels i have stayed at in a long time. Polite staff. Wonderful hot breakfast and 24hr coffee. Cant wait to come back.

The room has engineered hardwood flooring which we prefer over carpets. The gym has kettlebells and dumbbells all look very new. Thick exercise mats, a foam game block, and a yoga block are provided. You can get sanitizing wipes to clean the equipment. We asked for a refill of our own 1L hot water kettle for which we forgot to bring the electric cord, and the staff was friendly to help. Just note that the information notice given at check-in time says you need to let the front staff knows you need housekeeping 24 hours in advance. Otherwise you need to grab fresh towels or bathroom supplies yourselves at the front desk. Overall a great hotel experience here

It is a viby hotel. Lots of seating in the lobby and variety of snacks and drinks available. Desk personnel are pleasant, easy to deal with and accommodating. Feels like an up skale hostel with the benefits of both hostil and hotel

Ok hotel, but I would check the price at the Holiday Inn express right beside Tru before I booked.

Place is newer. But our Room was falling apart. Shower wall is delaminating. Pool was clean. Beds were comfortable. Gym equipment was new.

Water marks on ceiling where water has been leaking. For a new hotel shouldnt be so much damage. I notified front desk.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Wished it had a hot tub, but other than that it was great. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was simple but what you would expect from a cheaper hotel. The location was okay, in the southwest (a very good area of the city), it is a little far from city center and some other places, but being by the highway makes it a bit quicker to get there. I will always consider Hilton hotel's when I have the option if their standard is the same as this at all their locations.

This is a very nice hotel. Clean, up-to-date, modern, and customer service is very good. From the front desk to the breakfast room staff. Loved how items is lobby were kept stocked and clean. Also can't say enough about the breakfast room staff person. She kept everything well stocked, clean.and especially made sure she was available to help the kids out. She answered their questions and helped them get the food they wanted. Kids felt very comfortable to go get their own food with her help. Room was very clean and it doesn't bother me not to get daily room service. Parking lot is unimpressive, with scattered gravel on it. That makes it tricky to roll a suitcase on it

Great service, great continental breakfast, clean room and would definitely recommend this place. The only issue we experienced was a cold shower even when it was blasted on hot. I really enjoyed their breakfast which had more selection that i expected, like hot pancakes, bacon, variety of cereal, fruits, hard boiled and scrambled eggs. Really enjoyed it and the service was great! Overall, I would recommend this place and would rebook it.

This hotel is designed to cheat misleading guests & make money for owners, shame on Hilton. Location is far on south side in middle of construction nothing around it, so it should be cheaper.
To start the rooms are so small why? We are in Edmonton after all we are used to space, they need to mention that! And there's

to put your cloth, rooms a constructed poorly, you won't have intimate time because you can hear your next door neighbor, why all philipino staff? No diversity It's annoying hearing them talking laughing while you trying to have a quite time at the lobby! Swimming pool has only 2 seats don't get fooled by the pictures online, I paid less for bigger rooms even downtown was cheaper. Not recommended tiny rooms! Don't pay more than $60 night

This place is the best so far, very friendly staff and also professional. Highly recommended

Interesting design concept. Simple but very clean rooms. Comfortable beds, good WiFi and basic breakfast. Digital key allows you to circumvent reception and saves time.

Its a new hotel in south Edmonton on Anthony Henday Hwy in Windermere Area. Hot breakfast is free and staff is friendly with nice big pool for kids swimming.must try it.

We usually book the conference room for meetings and staff are friendly and accommodating to requests. Nice hotel with great amenities

Great new hotel in west Edmonton. Location is perfect, just off the highway. Fantastic complimentary breakfast with fruit, yogurt, along with a hot buffet. There is a large outdoor mall just minutes away with every conceivable store, Canadian Tire, Walmart, cinemas plenty of fast food or restaurants etc. And the best part, I found the hotel to be very reasonably priced!

Very good breakfast and unique hotel!

This hotel is very efficient in its use of space in the rooms and green friendly! The lights in the hallway are movement sensitive. The gym is soooo nice and very well equipped! Rooms were clean, the shampoo, lotion, conditioner and soap all smelled so nice and such a unique way! Beds were comfy, service was good. And the hotel isn’t in a terrible location.

Overall this hotel is very much worth the price.

Really enjoyed our stay on Victoria day long weekend. Staff was super friendly and approachable. Best part was their 24*7 coffee service as I am a coffee lover:) I would highly recommend this place

Nice location for the price. Significantly cheaper than hotels near West Edmonton Mall.

Complementary breakfast was very fulfilling and lots of choices to choose from.

Room was clean upon arrival, but underneath the mattress were lots of debris (dust, peoples hair, I.e) which obviously hasn't been cleaned.

Gym was small, but not a problem since not many people use the gym. Equipped with a multitude of dumbells, pull up rack, two treadmills, an elliptical, and four mats.

Upon checking in. The desk agent was very helpful! What I thought of things to come. He advised me of a double booking error online and even assisted me in correcting the problem. Upon arriving to my room, I noticed that the laminate flooring was "popping up" in various places and that there was no desk lamp at bedside. I advised the desk about the flooring concern, but I never really did get an answer.

On the morning of the third day I was there, the shower door handle was very loose and since I was going to have this looked into, I asked the desk agent to have my room serviced as well. Upon returning later that evening, I came into my room and NOTHING was done. Shower door handle was still loose and my room was not service. I brought this up to the desk and an hour later I was finally able to go back to my room.

On Friday and Saturday night, there was a group of (hockey) kids and parents staying onsite, which I had no problems with. The problem was that, the kids were not being supervised by ANYONE and I had kids playing hockey in the hallway outside my door! I called to the desk and complained and they eventually stopped, but only to start again minutes later! And the garbage they left in the hallways were discussing. Yes they were bagged, but door after door after door, you had to walk around these bags of garbage left outside their doors! As I mentioned, I did call the desk about the problem, but never did get a follow up call from the staff or management. NOTHING!

Upon arrival I noticed the large amount of gravel in the parking lot and not matter how much you wiped your feet at the front area, you still manage do drag the gravel up to your room, so now you room has bits of gravel all over the floor!

Front desk knowledge seems to be lacking. I had not researched the property well enough and did not know there was on onsite laundry for guest to use. I asked the desk staff as to where the closest one was. Only answer I got was, "I don't know. I'm new here. " and that was it! Did not even look on her computer to see where the closest one was!

And another thing I noticed during my two week stay was that their "business center" was not working the entire time I was there!

"Some" of the staff were friendly, but the overall experience was disappointing. I thought this was a recently opened property, but found out it has been open since 2019!

It as NOT what I expected form a "Hilton" property. And the fact that none of the management followed up to concerns was very disappointing. Kids playing hockey outside my room for two nights. The maintenance issues. "Some" of the desk staff not being helpful or knowledgeable.

I am planning another trip tp the Edmonton area and am hoping to give this property another chance.

Places was so beautiful and location was nice, will wish that for the walk in shower door has a clip or something to hold the door while it's being used or even leaking out of the shower. Least it was easy to easy clean up after the water going everywhere!

Checked out.accidentally left my unopen bottle of wine in the fridge, came back 20 minutes after n it magically disappeared

Clean quiet hotel, with easy convenient parking. Super friendly and helpful staff that were focused on guest experience. Great location. Comfortable well appointed room, great bed. We will definitely stay here anytime we are in the area.

Nice clean room. Good location for medical appointments. Access to many restaurants. Wonderful complimentary breakfast.

We booked an connecting room for 2 adults and 5 kids online (with extra cost for this request) to celebrate 3 of my family members birthday. The front hotel staff upon checkin initially told us that the conjoining rooms where just a request and all they had available where rooms across the hall from one another. Over some deep digging the lady at the front counter was able to find a connecting room, and let us know that we should have phoned the desk to book to insure our rooms would connect. We swam in the pool that evening, which was great until the chlorine content was extremely adjusted. To no prevail, I spent the evening rinsing out all of the kids burning eyes, including my own, which left me with a foggy view, that also gave any white light a rainbow aurora. I’m sure I would have been considered legally blind for the evening. We were able to have our ice cream cake in their freezer for the night, which must have been put in the fridge because it was completely melted and refrozen. They did give a bottle of wine and a chocolate bar to my husband and children when they found out it was their birthday celebrations. While unpacking our bathing suits at home, it was incredibly apparent they are no longer their original colour from the excessive chlorine.
The hotel staff was friendly, attempted to be helpful and accommodating but the excessive chlorine ruined our bathing suits and stay.

Stayed with our family for two nights. Had the adjoining room and it was perfect for us. Spacious, clean and bright rooms. The shampoo, condition and lotions in the washrooms were great.
The kids loved the pool, the breakfast was awesome, just wish it went a little later than 9am, especially on Sunday mornings. The water fountain to fill water bottles was so handy!

I booked 2 connecting room 1 month earlier to avoid the hassle because we have kids that will play. When we arrive to check in they told us they cannot give us connecting room because they are fully booked. We were like, how is that our problem? And receptionist is rude and she's like you're just staying one night. She's insisting that we cannot have the rooms we booked because they are fully booked.

Will never comeback. Easy 1 star.

Swanky new style, reasonably priced with great breakfast choices included. Only thing missing is a hot tub by the pool.

One star for cleanliness one for awesome staff, one for price.zero stars for whoever designed this pace, bed frames you can not mitigate around without smashing your knees on bed frames, the shower doors open In thr wrong direction so you can't turn on water without getting in and getting a cold stream right off the bat, , rooms are small.to the point you can't move around unless your alone

When I checked in the room smelt like weed and when I checked out they said they never gave me back my item I left In our room. Wouldn’t recommend staying.

Tru provides a modern, minimalistic take on the hotel service. The building and room was clean with accents of the best parts of any European hostel in its interior design (lobby, gym and breakfast area). The highlights were the breakfast style buffet, customer service and the modern design. Only con is the lack is the lack of quality of pillows. 3 small pillows were stocked but did not provide any comfort, led to not using them at all because of how thin they were. Overall, would stay again!

The hotel in general was pretty awesome. The staff were kind and my favourite part of my stay was the breakfast. It was stunning. The room I stayed in was pretty clean, the bedsheets and linen were nice and clean, the bathrooms as well. We didn’t get the chance to go to the pool, since it was closed due to the restrictions, but the amenities were awesome. I’d recommend this place for anyone who especially would stay in for 1-2 nights.:) Keep up the good work.

We booked this room for our son who was travelling. The next morning when he was getting ready to leave before 9am there was NO hot water.
The response from management after 2+ weeks was we are new and the weather has been extreme.
Cop out excuse with NO resolution. The weather was not bitterly cold like it is now.
Do not stay here.

Newer hotel good for business stays. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Did not have hot water in my room around 8pm when I wanted to take a shower (maybe used up in this cold weather) but otherwise no issues.
