We had an amazing advisor in Maria Jao, who made sure we were well taken care of for our mortgage needs. We were in a situation where one of the big banks we had approached first was putting lots of restrictions on our application. Maria helped us get a much much better variable rate than the big banks and guided us through every step of the mortgage journey. Prompt responses to every email I sent made me feel more confident about the company and our trust in Maria, even though we have never met her in person. The support did not stop there, even after buying the house, when the variable rates went up, Maria helped us lock in to the best rate available for a fixed mortgage when the rates came down.

My broker was Simon Phui. We were able to quickly work through my renewal process and he was able to get me the best rate by far. TD called me 3 times in their incompetence to try to get me to stay but didn't understand that the rate they were offering was being beat by 0.5%. I won't be going back to big bank.

Since my first experience with Simon and True North I decided I would use them for all my mortgage needs going forward. Buying a house is important to everyone, and when I wanted to pursue that goal I wanted to make sure that the whole process was as smooth as possible right from the beginning until the end, and when doing some research and asking friends who already have gone through this before, there was a brand that kept coming up for the mortgage, True North Mortgage, and I ended up going with them, for which I consider myself fortunate because they managed my application in a way that removed all of the stress that comes naturally by providing advice and sharing their knowledge. Prashant at True North was fantastic to deal with. He was very responsive to emails and helped me through my unique set of circumstances. I ended up getting a rate 0.5% points better then my banks rate on my renewal. Worked with Madhur on a refinance and he was excellent. Not only did he ensure I got the best rates, but he also made sure all my questions and concerns throughout the process were addressed in a timely manner. Really glad I chose to work with TNM as opposed to dealing directly with the bank. When the real estate market is hot, it is difficult getting good customer service when working directly with the bank and its underwriters because they get so swamped. Using TNM as a broker meant that they did all the followups with bank, saving me a ton of time and headaches. It also meant I got a better deal since the banks usually provide a commission to the broker that is in turn shared with the customer.
