I had some dry, yellow patches in the spring. After a few applications, the lawn is green and healthy.

Nice to have no weeds and lush green grass. Service was great and professional. Being in a small community we don’t have a lot of resources but TruGreen comes the 2 hour drive both ways to service our community

Horrible service and not professional. They skipped one of our days to have our lawn service done. It's my husband's birthday today, and wanted to have a BBQ with family over. They said they don't work around our schedule. Even though we are paying them to do our lawn. It was not our fault they didn't do our lawn, and then we asked them to come back. NEVER will go with this company again.

Edit; hide you plant pots kids! This week they made sure when they knocked over my plant pot they knocked it into my grass instead, how thoughtful picking it up, or not knocking it over in the first place may just be beyond them! Nevermind the fact that the only reason they were here was because they forgot to come to the appointment they scheduled.

What do I not like about this business? All of it. If you can't already tell reading the reviews from this year- this season has been a complete bust for Trugreen. We rent, and the city had replaced our front sidewalk last year. The sod they placed shrunk and pulled back away from the new sidewalk, leaving plenty of room for creeping weeds to grow up. I am not strong enough to pull these up by hand. We have asked since the very first visit that trugreen spray these. They do not. Our gates have locks, so we unlock them in the morning before trugreen shows- except, if they get there before hand, instead of knocking or calling, they simply leave. Sometimes they spray the front, sometimes they dont, often when the gates ARE open they don't spray the back area or the whole yard. Often they cancel, don't show up on time (if at all), reschedule, etc. They have not been spraying the entire yard, and because neither neighbor on either side of us gets their yard's weeded, we have many types of weeds climbing through our fence and spreading into our yard within days of them having sprayed.
We garden, and this most recent visit, not only did the person spraying get strangely aggressive when we were unlocking the other gate for them, but after going back inside he managed to bulldoze the pots & small stone statue we have on our walkout with his hose. Instead of righting the plant pot (which had a small salvia plant we have been nursing back from the precipice this year) he instead, with the snapped plant sticking out of the side, stacked another pot of ours on top of it's upside-down state. Instead of knocking or calling he simply left the potting mix all over our walkout and his warped sense of jenga as some trophy of a job poorly done. Our landlord called about this incident, and the manager chose to do nothing of worth.

To say working here was a good experience would be an understatement. Tru green has taught me more about lawn care than I would have learned myself. The managment was more friendly and they do truly care about what they are doing unlike some places I have worked. I reccomend a position here to student's with a summer off, anyone who can be friendly and of course can walk for 10 hours a day. Family oriented would also be an understatement. I have met good people here, made good friends. Im grateful for everything. The grass is greener at Tru Green. Thank you!

Bad service. Pricing isn’t competitive at all. Have used their services for 3 consecutive years but my lawn isn’t at all how they claim it will be even after taking all recommended services and add ons. Stay away from this rip off.

No review to publish but thanks to those who have spent time to report their issues and warn the rest of us that were about to request their services. The reason I wrote this is to question why there are no business replies to so many negative comments that all seem to be based on facts. Management should jump on this and take corrective action as I used to believe they were a top lawn care company in the city. Watch out!

The lawn care was fine, but for 5 years after I've been receiving junk mail from them. I've called the head office multiple times over the years to ask to be removed from the list but they never do.

Have been using TruGreen for many years and had them scheduled to complete aeration and overseeding, as well as fertilizing, months ago. They just decided to up and cancel the aeration and overseeding without ever informing us, only learned of this after we called to see why they haven’t completed the service yet. Very disappointing and unprofessional to do this so late in the season. Won’t be using them again for any services.

Last year I contracted with them for weed control. I believe they did the work as the weeds died and the lawn looked good. What I did not expect was to come home from work this year and find out they had come without notice or request and resprayed the lawn front and back. This placed my pets at risk. When I called I was told that the 'service rolls over automatically' - which I did to know, nor agreed to. I would stay away from this company if you don't want to be billed for work you never wanted.

This company is by far the best company in Edmonton. I see some people complaining here saying that they're getting calls from marketing and so on but I would like to mention that they are the largest company in Alberta and they are very systematic and super professional like no other so if you can afford them as they're not the cheapest in town and you want a real professional service then they are the ones for you

Simple and effective. I didn’t have to be home for them to perform their service, I just had to leave access to the yard. Overall a great experience and will always recommend.

I find this business very unprofessional. They came to do the service without my confirmation. I even talked to one of their service guys over the phone that I don't want the service anymore. He said he will make a note on that but it looked like they kept on coming back. I called their customer service and complained and I was told that they have an auto renewal sent via email. I insisted though that I told one of their guys I don't want the service anymore. I got called a hundred times to settle the bill. So beware customers, get your Trugreen accounts closed if you don't have plans of lawn care in the summer or you might be renewed automatically. Check policies before you sign up. Some guys might just show up on your homes when you're not around and you get billed just like that.

Professional, knowledgeable, and consistent service.just make sure you are clear on which services you want to add (or delete) as they are carried over year to year. My budget is tight, but being able to use my yard and walk on the lawn is worth the money.

I live in Texas and I like getting the reports on my properties in Alberta. I love the way that TruGreen uses technology to communicate with their clients. It would be nice to get visit reports by email as I appreciate knowing the condition of the upkeep on my lawn and whether it is being kept at a reasonable length and grooming to optimize healthy growing. It helps me keep my tenants accountable.

They come to your place but don't do the job, the only thing the leave is a bill for you to pay without doing the job, THEY are scammers and should be sued for that. Tru scammers is what they are please stay away please!

Service not listed: fertilization is applied by TruGreen. Exceptional staff, over the top problem solving solutions and keeping the "make it right" standard. I would recommend this company to anyone in need for the many, many services TruGreen provides.

Technician has been rude and unprofessional. When you call they office it seems like they could care less. Not interestered I’m having you as a client. At least that is what it seems like. Not impressed with services. As lawn did not have any difference. Lots of weeds around.

I unintentionally used this business. I caught a manager spraying my property under the direction of my neighbour this morning. There’s clear property lines. I asked the manager to make a note on the neighbours file, but why should it come to that? This company has been spraying the property without permission for 2 years now. Why are you spraying another property with herbicides without permission? Because my neighbour paid you?
I’ve been waiting for the herbicide to dissipate so I could lay down grass seed down but nothing has been able to grow there for nearly 3 years now. Just a pile of dirt. Very unprofessional

Started using TruGreen this year, my grass was getting taken over by weeds like crazy. 2 applications later, weeds gone and thicker n greener than ever!

For the most part the staff have been very good for the last 8 years. They are professional and complete their work to my satisfaction.

Called to inquire about having them cut my grass and they said, " no, call a landscaper, " and hung up on me. Real nice folks

Started off strong, first 2 years was pretty good. 3rd year seemed we had so many weird weeds. Cancelled services, a year later we started again, giving it another try. So many dandelions, they wanted us to do extra services ourselves. So why pay someone to do half or a quarter of the work. Makes no senses. This year my husband and I will do it ourselves and save the money.

Called for a quote and because I wouldn't give my address they hung up on me.that is not how you do business, thanks.

TruGreen has the best weed control out of all the different companies I've used in the past. I'd recommend this business to my friends and family.

Great service, customer service is on point, lawn care services are amazing and also my weeds have been taken care of, I also take advantage of the free service calls whenever weeds come back or my lawn isn't green enough.

Service was on schedule, staff were courteous and knowledgeable, and the lawn looks terrific. No weeds!

Very disappointed with the sevice. Nothing really happened to my lawn after the 4 services. The person who comes to my house to do the service are cheating, they didn't do the sevice but they send me an invoice saying that they applied fertilizer and kill the weeds but when i checked the cameras they literally come to my house for few seconds and leave. Try to call the office and they tried to fixed it but when they came again the technician did nothing again. Definitely not gonna use the service again.

Dont go with these guys. I paid 164 dollars for them to come spray my lawn once and they have not returned to finish the rest of the year to spray. I will not be using them again for next year. They just want your money. Plus they did not even do a good job. Still have weeds on the lawn so i dont even know if they even sprayed. Will be getting a different company for next year.

If I could give zero stars I would. We have used this company for 2 year and were happy with their services until this month. Last year we argeed to have our front yard aerated as recommended by trugreen, we did not realize in agreeing to this service that it automatically renewed every year. Trugreen came and aerated our front and back yard on Aug 19,2021 (which we did agree to the previous year) and once the service was done they did not ensure our back gate was closed and our dog got out and was almost hit by several car. We contacted the company by phone and via email and all that was offered to us was 50% off our next service. We have cancelled all service with them and are truly disappointed that we are still expected to pay for aeration, and received minimal apologies in regard to our dog.

TruGreen offered great customer service throughout the season. I really appreciated the heads up before each service, and my lawn looks better than it ever has before, even after this summer's drought. Great job!

After a very disappointing experience last summer with a different lawn company, my mother in law recommended we use TruGreen. Before the first application I was pulling the heads off of 50-100 dandelions per day and within 3 weeks of TruGreen’s visit it was down to 1-2 dandelions per day. The thistles took a bit longer to get under control, but now that we have had 3 applications our lawn is weed-free. I am beyond impressed and will definitely be using TruGreen next year! Our neighbours have started using TruGreen and they are also very pleased.

WORST COMPANY! After paying over $500 for lawn care its full of weeds and my grass is terrible. Please stay away. I will write as many reviews as I can to make sure my message gets out.

TruGreen has taken care of our weed problem. Before discovering them, we struggled to rid the yard of weeds but didn't have much luck. They have done a good job for us and are always professional.

Most useless and unprofessional company. If you call they repeat we will send someone senior. And, they don't show up. Also they miss some months. Buyer beware. You are better off managing it yourself than pay them. Literally a horrible experience. After giving them 3 months of emails and calls I am writing this. BUYER BEAWARE!

I have just reviewed all the lawn care service providers and it appears from the amount of 1 star reviews that this type of business must be a scam. It seems it is the same problems with all of these companies. Time to study up and just do it yourself for 1/3 of the price.

Employee spraying toxic chemicals on lawn, not wearing mask and did not put up and caution or warning signs. Not professional.best to avoid the toxins and simply remove the weeds by hand.
Save your self and save the environment

This is second time we are using service. Last time they didn't provided the promised services despite full payments. This year, we are into June and no one has visited our lawn, forget about doing anything. Really frustrating.

Unprofessional, dishonest, predatory business practices, with zero customer service and follow through. This is the worst experience I have had with a service provider - ever.

Had a great experience last year with my lawn and Tru Green. This year unfortunately they dug at the bottom of the dumpster for staff to represent their company. Had them come out to my elderly mother's property for lawn treatment. Technician called because he could not find the place, held his hand while helping him understand streets and avenues over the phone. Once he found the place, I confirmed with the technician that there is dogs and please lock up after he is done. He even told my mother to keep the dogs off the lawn for a few hours, which I have on camera. Of course he did not lock the gate, and the dogs got out. I sent a text message stating "You didn't latch the gate this morning after the lawn application and my dogs got out. Thanks for that. " And got a text response back of "Your Welcome". Then a phone call from staying that this area is not part of his route, he's covering for someone else and that it wasn't on the work order that there was dogs. Thankfully the dogs were found by construction workers in the area and returned. Escalated this issue to management, and based on how they handled the situation, I decided to cancel my services at both homes. I recommend using a self employed or small business owner lawn care specialist rather than these clowns.

I have used TruGreen for 4+ years at two separate properties and have always had issues with them (pricing, service no-shows, failure to apply fertilizer & weed control, no call day before application, etc.). This weekend they aerated my lawn (without my knowledge or consent) and left an invoice in my mailbox. When I called their service centre, I was told that they had emailed me a couple of months back (offering the aeration) and because I had not replied, they took this as a go ahead to do the aeration. Terrible & illegal business practice - do not make the same mistake I did by ignoring their constant red flags.

Update - They will not stop sending me mail; even after returning every piece I get from them, asking to be removed from mailing list. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION!

We haven't had there service yet but we aren't happy with the customer service that we have been experiencing. We booked them early April and they told us that we will have our service done by end of April. First, they said our address wrong so we corrected them and when our invoice arrived it was the wrong address again so we had to call them again. Second, we waited for them to arrive by the end of April and when we phoned them they were claiming that we cancelled our service which we did not do. Now they are saying that they will book us but we haven't received any phone call about the schedule yet.

Not a very good company to use. Customer service is horrible. Cancelled my services and will return to Greendrop. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Lets just say there was no weed control

I have been with TruGreen lawn care for few years now and have been happy with the quality of their service & my lawn free of weed and staying green. However, something changed in 2020. May be they started using different product or hired different contractors. The service could not be worse! My grass has turned yellow & seem to be dying. A lot of slugs in the backyard (1000's).

I called TruGreen to complain about the issue and they sent a non-experienced staff to weed spray who entered the property by pushing too hard on the fence gate & broke the gate-latch. He didn't spray the fertilizer or provide any advice on reviving dead grass.

I called TruGreen again and learnt that staff has only worked for 2 months with them, so didn't know about grasses. They agreed to send their senior technician to analyse the grass, who came the next day. This technician didn't have any advice either. He said maybe TruGreen sprayed too much chemical or could be anything. He accepted the grass is dead and does look in really poor condition. I paid more than $200 to TruGreen for "TruYELLOW" grass this year. I'm very disappointed in the service and quality of work this year & will be discontinuing services from TruGreen moving forward.

I just wanted to share photos and my experience, so that people who care about their lawns and spend $$ for professional lawn care, can make better decisions and choose a company which can actually provide the 'Quality' they promise.

I made a mistake of dealing with TruGren a couple years ago. Ever since, after multiple demands to stop, they keep calling me trying to sell their stuff. They simply can't take "no" for an answer. So, do not make the same mistake and do not let them have your address or phone number.

I found TruGreen services to be done better and at better pricing than their competitors that I've used previously. Really like the advanced notice of when they will come to your home. Recommended for sure.

TruGreen employs dishonest business practices, are unprofessional to deal with, and using them for my lawn care is honestly one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my adult life.and we are talking about lawn care. Do NOT use this company.

Can't comment on service because it's to early in the season. They kept saying they would send the email for payment I waited and waited, called back multiple times and left messages and no one called me back. Waited another 2 weeks then finally gave up. It's obvious this company doesn't want your business because it shouldn't be this hard to pay for services! Its to late now I've found another company who have provided excellent customer service and have been booked and paid for.

I used Trugreen for 2 years but stopped using them when they would not stop harassing me about continuing their service. They would constantly call me about their service. Very unprofessional. Lots of better companies out there.

I used this company in the summer for mosquito defense treatment and it was horrible. It did not work at all and they still demanded payment. I asked for resprays to see if it may help and no one was every sent out. Then I asked to speak to a manager about my service and all I got were harassing phone calls for payment. Horrible company!

Love the aspect of no dandelions, no quackgrass and making the neighbours jealous.

Tru Green is amazing will always call prior to make sure that our puppy is indoors and mindful of the pond in the back.

I was using these guys years ago but because of poor quality I switched to a different company. This year they kept calling me everyday and told me they got new management and if I give them one more chance, I will be happy customer. However after I gave them my lawn service again, my lawn has never looked so bad and unhealthy. Stay away from this company

While I have no issue with services they're fine nothing special, Usually kills weeds okay. However, the constant calling and using new numbers is out of control. They call multiple times a week and I block numbers and they use new ones to call each time it's insane. They call in the winter to book for the spring and it's extremely annoying. Currently looking for a new company to use even if they're more expensive just to simply avoid the calling 24/7. They basically harass you until you say okay.

I had been with this company since 2006 and most of the time have been satisfied with their service. I have found their constant calling to have me agree to extra services quite annoying over the years. This year they actually preformed an aeration and seeding on my neighbors property and presented me with the bill. We called them first thing in the morning to let them know what had occurred they didn't seem to care at all. We then asked them to have someone call us back we waited the whole day but never heard from them. We called back the next day and cancelled our services them they again didn't seem to care about a 14 yr relationship. We called Green Drop and hope to know deal with a company that values my business

Worse marketing tactics these guys use to convince you to buy their services. After saying no to their services, still receive calls day after day. Not cheap either. Wrongly advertised too. If you buys their services once you will be harassed for next 3 to 4 years. GUARANTEED. From personal experience.
