My personal favorite T&T location. It is clean, open, great selection, and friendly staff. They're surrounded by multiple restaurants for you to enjoy a nice lunch/dinner after shopping.
Congratulations on the one-star review. I started shopping at this TNT eight years ago. People who speak Cantonese have never looked down upon people who speak Mandarin. If you don’t want to go to work, you can stay at home. Especially an aunt in customer service. The most outrageous time was when the cashier charged too much and we went to refund the money. The aunt asked me if I could exchange the money for something else because WeChat refunds were too troublesome. Are you correct? Are you bothered by the fact that you overcharged me and wasted my time? Everything under the same company is more expensive than Superstore all year round. They give out coupons and cards once and twice for 10 yuan. You have to buy more to use the gift card. It’s even more outrageous. 1000 gives 20 yuan. I have never seen Flyer that is more stingy than TNT. The items that had been sold for a week were sold out on the first day. The rotten vegetables were also put in bags with the good ones for customers to buy together. More than three or five times, you saw foreigners queuing up to pay. You quickly opened a new cashier. The sex act is really disgusting
Lots of hot (various DimSum, Pho, bbq etc.) and cold (sushi, cold salads) food variety for lunch. Also a good place for groceries, although always busy, lines move pretty quick.
Worst service ever at this store. Try ordering anything off the noodle menu and the inexperienced employees, especially the Chinese female worker in her forties to fifties wearing glasses, will have no clue what she is selling. She is extremely rude as she will gossip in front of you in Chinese to her co-workers at the noodle stand. Very unprofessional. I have made a complaint to the manager thinking this worker will be reprimanded but it doesn't appear she will be. The extremely careless employees obviously didn’t care enough to learn anything and the management hires anyone with a pulse willing to work for minimum wage!
Horrible display of customer service! Especially the couple of Chinese women who work at the noodle/dim sum stand in the store, they are incredibly rude and unprofessional!
I had a good experience. Love the store. So many Asian items you don't get anywhere else. Staff are friendly and the follow covid protocol with sanitizing.
Everything double the price or much more than other stores.are they believe all Chinese don't know where to buy Chinese product from other stores? I thought I won't visit here for a long long time.
Basically the store is robbing customers now. A pack of egg tart of 6 last year was $5.99. Today the price got up to $9.99. And so many other stuff have doubled the price in a year! Don’t suggest anyone to go there.
This store provides a number of options I have not been able to find from other stores. The fresh BBQ pork buns, Portuguese egg tarts and more are all delicious and are far better than I have found elsewhere.
Staff is efficient and knowledgeable. Clean and organized. Lots of delicious things here. I love to get sushi, noodles, hotpot, or buffet and eat in the cafeteria, then shop after.
Pretty chaotic and disorganized. Plus none of the staff seem to speak English, which while it is an Asian grocery store is still located in Calgary. Hopefully you know what you want and where it is, because the staff are little help.
T&T has designated parking spots for pick up by online shoppers. However, on every occasion I had been there, the parking spots were occupied by uncivic-minded shoppers who were doing their shopping in the store! What's the use of having designated parking when people do not follow rules? ! Stores such as Canadian Tire and Home Depot have designated parking spots too. These are always available because customers there are civic conscious unlike T&T customers.
I got the coupon for $5 because I applied the TNT rewards card. I can use this only on online purchase. TNT can take $5 off at checkout, but I have to pay $4.99 for handling fee. That is useless to get this online coupon.
Pretty disappointed with the whole experience today, staff were rude and unwilling to speak English or help locate product. Every aisle was missing half of the products, organization was bad. I'd be more understanding of it was a weekend or a Monday after a busy weekend but no, it's Wednesday, there should be a certain level of stock on the shelves and that simply wasn't the case. It seemed like the whole place was in disarray and needed time to prepare for customers. Not impressed and won't be returning to this location.
Overall T&T Supermarket is not bad for an Asian supermarket. The selection is pretty good which is good when you are looking for specific Asian ingredients or products. I do find it fairly expensive though compared to regular supermarkets. It's also fairly clean and well laid for being an asian supermarket so no complaints.
Very Popular with Oriental people. Large Variety of Oriental foods. $ Prices Not inexpensive. They take advantage of people wanting familiar Names of Products from their own countries of origin.
Idk why but they are closing their washrooms even though they have a lot of customers, when im talking a lot, it means thousands of customers a day. Their employee in the crab/lobster section doesnt even entertain their customers properly.
Martin of the Chinese Kitchen gave me the best shopping experience ever! I went for some Chinese New Year's dinner but one of the items was just arrived in the store and was not ready for sale. Martin looked for all possible ways to help me getting the item and I got exactly what I needed. Exceptional customer service! Thank you, Martin! Great store and awesome staff!
Wow, wow, the cooked meal section If you enjoy Chinese food, this will get you excited. Someone serves though, just point out what you like and she serves it. It gets weighted at checkout and voila. Its about one of the price friendly Chinese takeaway I've had. I'll probably update more as I explore the store some more!
Totally worth the wait in line and braving the crowds. Big selection of produce and meat, and all the different Asian groceries. They also have takeaway buffet and household items like small appliances, beauty products and more. Grab the cheesecake KitKat mini bars if you can or try the wasabi KitKat if you are more adventurous.
The hot food tastes suspiciously old and the texture of the meat is tough and sometimes crumbly, go early in the day for hot food. Groceries are good though.
So many unique Asian items like frozen dim sum, fresh sushi, spicy bamboo chutes, jelly fish and a ton of others but unfortunately it's difficult to get help finding anything. Some employees don't speak much English or just don't care to help.
The servers here are extremely rude, especially to Mandarin-speaking customers or to people who simply don't speak Chinese, meaning white people or black people or anyone else who isn't Chinese. If you knew what these workers were saying in front of you in Cantonese, you would be very shocked and rightfully angry.
Please heed this warning and do not ever come to this store and patron it. This store is not worth your time and hard-earned money.
Is very busy! Everyone getting set for New Year celebration. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. A true Asian experience! Every thing you could think of and more! Love their salad rolls and Chinese food buffet is terrific and not loaded with sugars and red food dyes. A great selection where you can choose a little or a lot! Love their unique selections and very tasty. Cook your own noodles or rice and feed 4to5 diners for 55dollars!
All the stuff you were dared to eat as a kid is now at T&T Supermarket! Great prices, rank smells and so much variety. They even have a buffet! Why not do the custom soup where you get to pick the ingredients and T&T will cook it to your specifications. Maybe you are 8n the mood for fresh handmade sushi.tons of styles and types to choose. Great prices! Go now;)
This place is crazy busy on a weekend, but we’ve always been able to find what we need and enjoy seeing new things we haven’t tried! The bubble tea place is fairly expensive, but a delicious treat!
A full Asian supermarket grocery store, well-kept and great selection, including live seafood and kitchen/bath ware. A variety you can't find in our common stores in all departments, and unlike them, ALL the tills are staffed and no self-checkouts.
I find this to be a good place to go for exotic Asian items you can't get anywhere else. Other than that, there's not much to go here for.
It IS sooo crowded on weekends! Everyone is so obnoxious and pushy, especially at the buffet counter. It is not uncommon to see 6 people crowded together on one side, trying to pick at one item. No morals/rules/manners, just an absolute free-for-all.
The last time I was here, I ordered something from the bubble tea counter. I got a honeydew, green milk tea and it had some undissolved powder that looked like sytrofoam and tasted like paint, YUCK! I also ordered the black sesame milk tea and it was slightly better in taste and quality.
But one thing I took issue with, is how they took advantage of the penny rounding system. I'm sure it goes without saying that most people would know that 0.19 rounds up to 0.20, but the savages decided to round down to 0.15 instead. That seemed very UNPROFESSIONAL! But especially considering it was my FIRST TIME ordering from the bubble tea stand, I'm sure we can agree what kind of 1st impression it left on me?
This is a general complaint to the head office. Whenever you email the customer service line, they only reply to the original message once and you don't hear back from them. It is quite obvious that they clearly lack in principals and proper work ethics.
Now, I watched Undercover Boss. But that has no influence on my opinion or review. In the episode, they said they want to expand the business, to try and reach a more diverse audience than just Asian customers. It is kind of hard to do that when you don't even know who the potential audience is and don't even take constructive criticism seriously.
ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT is the excessive use of bamboo/water chestnut in the DIM SUM dishes. The last time I got dim sum from the hot food counter, it was seafood and it had water chestnuts. I don't consider water chestnuts to be edible, so that was very traumatizing!
I can tell you right now, that those are unconventional and fringe ingredients. When compared with dim sum I've had in actual restaurants, the use of these ingredients are definitely very few and far in between.
Dim sum is exclusive to Asian culture and it's not widely carried by most retailers and if it is, there's only 1 choice. I can't even get it here either because 8/10 times, it contains bamboo/water chestnut. I am talking about the T&T STORE BRAND dim sum, not the name brands.
My mother used to be an employee about a decade ago. She forwarded that feedback over, they need to cut down on the excessive use of bamboo/water chestnut in the dim sum dishes. What kind of response did she get? Was told that bamboo is a staple in Taiwanese diets. So if they removed the bamboo, they would lose their Taiwanese customers AND that it is expected to have some vegetables in dim sum, to make it "healthier. " So the fact WE ARE complaining about it, makes US in the WRONG?
So how exactly are you planning to expand out and reach a wider audience than just Asians if you respond like that? That is the MOST unprofessional statement EVER. It doesn't seem like you're taking that endeavor seriously.
I don't know why this place was bought out by Loblaws? They don't seem to be accomplishing much.
My mother works in produce at Superstore and said the Asian customers go in to complain about how T&T's produce is expensive and lower quality.
If Loblaws had a brain, they would completely remove all of the basic, day-to-day items from T&T and stock only Asian exclusives and foreign imports you really CAN'T get anywhere else. That way, you can charge any price you want. If the item is available at Superstore for cheaper, it makes it pointless for T&T to carry it since there's not going to be much of a competition. Except for those who live nearby, can't drive, are immobilized and have no choice but just ONE PLACE to go for groceries?
I think there's great potential for T&T to IMPROVE and become a BETTER company. But I don't see it happening at this point, not with the TERRIBLE way it is BEING managed.
T & T is an Asian restaurant in Calgary, located in close proximity to the Calgary airport. It sells a wide variety of Asian goods (Oriental and Indian). These goods include items such as sushi, shellfish, fish, vegetables, and meats. All of their products taste very good. Their staff are polite, and are very approachable. T & T also carries Loblaws products such as "no name" making it easier to do all my shopping in one place. I look forward to coming back.
A great asian supermarket, it is very big, they have vegetables, fruit, fresh seafood, meat, groceries, bakery and they even sell cooked food to eat right there or to go. The place has a big parking lot because is located on a mini mall, I love going there because I am learning about asian food and that place is amazing for that
Holy cow. If Loblaws has a handle on this one.as I think it bought out the chain.they gotta be printing dough in Calgary! The hot food selection which is what I went for as I was famished and in a rush on biz.was better than most Cantonese restaurants. Groceries looked great but did not shop there that day.but intend to.
An Asian restaurant located conveniently near the Calgary Airport. Includes hot buffets, sushi, Vietnamese subs, pastry, birthday cakes, Peking duck, dim sum, buns, and many more delicacies. I buy many of my groceries here. Offers fresh produce, seafood, and meat products. One of the few supermarkets in Calgary currently dedicated for Asian merchandise. Most of the staff are welcoming and ready to help. There are several locations in many cities in Canada. I would definitely come back
Great food for a quick bite to eat. Smaller location but still an excellent selection. And don't forget to check out the bakery and buy one of everything
If you are looking for anything Chinese or Asian this is a good place. However the price is always few bucks more than what you would pay at other similar stores.
Great selection of Asian ingredients and prepared foods. Go hungry as you can purchase hot meals as well! They have almost everything in a one stop shop for Asian food!
