I really like this place, I’ve stayed here before and never had any issues with cleanliness that others comment on. There are a few things to be aware of. The cabins on north side overlook (albeit through a pine forest, that continues to lose trees) the CP mainline and regulations require a number of train whistle blasts as they come through Banff EAR plugs are recommended. The other thing is that the sloped wall makes the shower difficult to use comfortably. A sloping beam juts into area where your shoulders would normally be, and it can be quite cold.
Staff are great, and the fireplace is well supplied with wood, kindling packs and matches…a Boy Scouts dream…. I earned a badge every night

So friendly and quick to assist with anything. Room was very nice and pet friendly! Made sure we felt welcome with our dog and provided nice extras like dog bowls, a dog bed, and treats we weren't expecting. Very happy with our stay.

Very friendly staff, let us check in 4 hrs early. We always enjoy our stay here. Beds are very comfortable, beautiful clean rooms and the views are awesome

Very nice room. Clean & tidy. Looked recently redone.
Friendly staff, very comfortable beds, awesome pillows, good shower, very reasonably priced, very quiet location.
Second stay at Tunnel Mountain, and we would book here again without hesitation.

Great location and view but the rooms left a little to be desired for from sound proofing. We could hear everything our neighbours did.

We stayed few times before and after covid. Always liked the bungalows. This year we decided to go with our little fur babies and thus has to stay in pet friendly units. Bedrooms, washroom were okay, however, the living room space, especially floors doesn't seem to be cleaned and disinfected properly. Couch look gross and a bit tired. Kitchen utensils are due to be replaced long time, preferable for stainless steel not cracking plastic into food. Was a bit disappointed and since resort don't provide any slippers we didn't even want to remove the shoes, floors were neglected!

Fantastic place to stay! Recommend to anybody wanting to visit Banff. Located just outside the town but with local buses available just outside its perfect for those wanting to go into town!

This was my family's first time ever staying in Banff, and we loved it so much The accommodation in the loft suite was spectacular and luxurious, far exceeding my expectations. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful mountain getaway. The room had a fireplace, and they supplied you with free firewood and kindling. They can sleep 7 people in the loft suite, and there is a fully stocked kitchen suite with dishes and cooking utensils. The beds are super comfortable, and the rooms are supplied with fans for a soothing sleep. There are also 3 tvs in the suite, so there shouldn't be any arguments about who watches what! There is also a wooden balcony where you can take in a sloping forest view. There is tons of storage and lots of places to unpack your suitcases. There are 2 bathrooms and 1 shower/bath combo. It honestly is a 5 resort. Would highly recommend it.

A room with a well-equipped kitchen and a real wood-burning fireplace. You get a voucher for a bus ride to the village

Everything has been excellent. Check in was quick and easy. The staff explained everything in detail. The cabin was clean and cosy. It has everything that you need. Good location if you are driving. Walking wise is close but not close enough to town. Drive is only 3 mins, walk is like 15-20 mins down hill and uphills, so I ended up driving everywhere. The hotel does give out free bus passes. In my case, we don’t take public transportation, so it didn’t work for us. Otherwise everything was great.

When we looked for accommodation in Banff for the six nights we wanted, this seemed the best of the limited available hotels. We could see that it was about a 25 minute walk from town, but the hotel gave a free bus pass, and the bus runs frequently to Banff Springs hotel, via the town centre, so we thought it would be fine.

I always understood a ‘resort hotel’ as offering leisure facilities, often extensive. In this case, there is a small pool, a sauna and, I believe, a children’s play area. Additionally, a resort would have one or more restaurants, and this hotel is shown as having a restaurant on the various booking sites.

However, when we checked in and asked where we would eat breakfast, we were told there was no restaurant, but “there are facilities to prepare meals in your room”. Of course, to do this, you need the food to prepare. There is no shop on site, so, having just arrived by shuttle from Calgary airport, we were now faced with taking a bus to town and struggling as best we could with bags of shopping on the bus back. As both of us are seniors with back problems, this wasn’t great. We didn’t see any taxis.

On our last but one day, we spotted that there was a restaurant, The Prow, in the Buffalo Mountain Lodge, across the road, which does breakfasts as well as evening meals. Why we weren’t told about this nearby facility is a mystery.

We bought supplies to cook a simple pasta-based supper for our first night. We cooked the vegetables and other ingredients, and then wanted to cook the pasta. At this point the “2 stove conduction cooktop” (or ‘hob’) showed some error codes and wouldn’t heat up again.

We called reception, who sent a maintenance man quite quickly. He determined that the power had tripped, which seemed unlikely as lights and numbers were showing on the stove display. In any event, he couldn’t find the power unit, either outside or in the room. Eventually, the hob must have cooled down and reset itself. We wondered if this was because we had used both rings, but why would there be two if you can’t use them? The next day we only used one, but the same thing happened.

Maintenance also fixed the broken bolt on the front door (a loose screw).

Our big room was very clean when we arrived and had a lovely view, through trees, to the iconic mountain (which has no tunnel!). We had a very comfortable King and a Queen bed, but I would question the concept of this being a ‘superior suite’, which surely has to have a separated living or seating area. Décor was simple but pleasant enough and we liked the room.

Lighting is rather dim – fine for a romantic evening, quite poor for reading in bed!

There was a huge amount of clothes storage.

I turned the aircon/heating unit off when we arrived, and the room only lost 2 degrees during the 6 days we were there. Good insulation.

The kitchenette (in the same space) was well equipped, though a dish rack is needed, and had cutlery and china for 4 people, a microwave, fridge and the stove. However, the very small eating table had only two chairs and could not have accommodated 4 dinner plates. The balcony also only had two chairs, not suitable for bringing in to use as dining chairs either. The balcony table could hold 4 glasses or cups. For two of us, this was fine, but I couldn’t suggest more people stayed in this room.

The bathroom was spacious and the shower good. A shaving/make-up mirror would be helpful as the main large mirror is across a deep counter. There are plenty of towels which get changed as required. A hairdryer was provided.

The beds are tidied daily, but the cleaning is basic, even though there is meant to be a full clean every 3 days. Each day, I wondered if the slowly accumulating hairs in some areas of the bathroom would be removed. They were not.

All balcony lights seem to be set on all day and all night, although two sets of internal blinds make the room reasonably dark at night.

I would usually give this only 3 stars, considering the price, but Banff accommodation is expensive, so it probably qualifies for 4 stars in this context.

I recently stayed at Tunnel Mountain Resort for 3 nights. My accommodations were very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff was very accommodating and eager to serve. We even got help starting a fire (thanks Brian!). I would greatly recommend this hotel!

Good but not quiet. The loft style cabins/ rooms can hear every pin drop below. If your whole group goes to bed at the same time, not an issue, but anyone talking below can be heard and can be frustrating. If I were to make a suggestion, simply seal off the room up top to reduce the sound. The nearby train was not a welcome sound sometimes 4-5 times in a single night. Everything else was generally convenient. Short drive to town, free firewood for you fireplace, direct bus out front to town with a free pass included with stay.

Well laid out rooms with room to store your belongings and a small kitchenette. Friendly staff. Located outside of Banff but close to some walking trails overlooking Mount Rundle. Parking can be tight at times.

Service: Harry at the front desk was friendly, professional, and so very helpful. We stayed here for 3 nights and Harry was always helpful but on one occasion I wanted to rent a bike but a family of 6 took all the bikes. Harry called another resort and arranged for me to get a bike. So Harry made my vacation even better. Rooms: Spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen! Good wifi. Location Great location away from downtown but still easy access and free Roam pass! Other: free parking spaces are tight but plentiful. On site laundry. Grounds very clean. Suggestions: cutting boards and hooks for bath towels. Overall awesome stay and highly recommended!

A lovely cabin hotel in a forest, we were 5 family members in a 2-story cabin for 6 nights. A fully equipped kitchen, the shower is not so comfortable for my taste, the bathtub is a bit slippery, there is no place to hold the exit. Apart from that, the rooms are pleasant and the stay was good. There is a free shuttle to Noah city center. We were hungry and didn't use it

It's outside but the rest is great. It's not the fanciest hotel, but everything is very convenient. The service is very competent and helpful. I would do it again.

They give you a free bus ticket so you can travel downtown easily. However, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes for the bus to arrive!

Amazing stay with this resort. We were very happy that the cabin is nice and can sleep 8 people and it is also very clean! There is a lot of amenities like a pool, sauna and free ice! No complaints at all and we will for sure come back!

A lovely quiet spot and having an apartment was very handy when staying for a while. Unfortunately our room (#168) was right beside the outside doir so quite noisy at times with people coming and going. Also the coomercial laundry below got noisy at night when they did the hotel laundry.

Easy access to Banff Gondola, Hot Springs, Cascade Garden, Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain, etc. Good spot with a Beautiful view. Banff Downtown & surprise corner is a great spot.
