U-Haul Moving & Storage of Westside

I would give this facility a 0 out of 5, if I could. What a horrendous experience. My storage locker was one of the ones affected by the fire in late summer. I was at work at a remote camp 1,500 km away when it happened, so I took U-Haul up on their offer of free services to empty and clean my storage locker. I had 99% of my personal belongings in that locker, as we had moved cross-country to Alberta and stored our household until we could find a place to live. Several of my items were disposed of during the cleaning, which I understood. What I'm upset about is the fact that several damaged and moldy items were put back in the storage unit. Most of the items in my unit were filthy when I moved out. Power cords for my printer and espresso machine were thrown out or lost when they reboxed those items. Several items have also gone missing, such as my classic SNES. I've had to throw out additional appliances that were covered in mold. Another annoyance is that, despite being forced to buy a round U-Haul lock when I rented the unit, they cut it off and replaced it with a generic U-Haul lock that I wasn't allowed to use in the first place. Rules for thee, not for me! They also documented the damage to my items for their insurance adjustor, but told me I couldn't claim for any damages.

Other than the fire issues, this location is incredibly cramped and busy. The staff seem to be burnt out and unmotivated (can't hardly blame them). I tried to access my unit at 7PM one day, and got stopped by a security guard (access was supposed to be until 10PM!).

Overall, a terrible terrible experience. I'm out several thousand dollars due to water damage caused by flooding from a blocked drain in their parking lot, and I've had to clean and disinfect my belongings after their "professional services" handled things (sometimes with sticky fingers). I'll never use U-Haul again, and this wasn't my first cross-country move with them either.

I found it very rude and annoying when the agent took a personal call on his cell phone wasting my time and making mistakes on my account. I had to stand around waiting on him

Friendly staff. Good service. They of course have extreme peak business times and then lulls. I think all the 9ft vans have backup cameras. 110~ for 1day and 160km flat rate. The vans are clean but not spotless; but good enough for moving. I was satisfied.

Avoid at all cost. They don’t care about customers. Had a trailer reserved and was not able to pickup.

Online Booking allowed me to book a truck at their location and did not have the storage unit I booked either.

Ended up having to rent a larger truck for more money after spending an hour and a half with staff that did not know what to do or how to help troubleshoot the situation.

Extremely rude staff as well as the supervisor on shift who I asked to speak to after I found out the truck and the storage unit was not available told the staff member she did not want to bothered when I asked to speak with a supervisor. When I was there dealing with them another customer came in and he also was treated poorly.
Manager was not at the location either.

Both Mirrors on the box truck I ended up renting were broken and would fall and face downward anytime the truck went over a bump. This location stuffed paper towels in behind the mirrors to make them stay but it did not work. Not a safe vehicle to drive when the mirrors are broken but I did not have time or the patience to want to deal with the staff again to get a different truck.

They also don't even walk you to the truck, maybe because it was cold outside but they just told me the truck number and it could be somewhere on the side, street, or beside the building in the parking lot. So I was stuck with their sign which was blocking the windshield as well.

The truck was not ready to go. There was only a quarter tank of gas and the windshield wiper was broken. We asked for a different truck that did have a full tank of gas and they stated they didn’t have one. It’s disappointing to have the gas light go on <5km after picking up the truck.

Would give -100 stars if I could. Reserved the truck at $0.92/km. When they converted to miles they charged $1.09/km, then when I disputed they refused to even consider it. Just blind faith in their stupid company. Don’t rent here. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Everyone who works here should be ashamed. They have no morals. They are scamming people up and down, left and right. Buyer beware.

Booked reservation for 20' truck in April for a move at the end of august. Two weeks before the move, someone from this location changed the reservation pick up date without my authorization or notifying me. I called the day before I was scheduled to pick up the truck and was notified by the call center that my reservation was not on the correct day and had been changed. The person on the call center re scheduled a truck for me with a new reservation from a different location. If I had not called the day before to double check, I would not have had the truck I reserved 4 months prior for my cross country move. Absolutely unbelievable.

Absolutely insane prices, lots of hidden fees. I paid $428 to use a 10ft truck for a single day. My original payment (rental and insurance) was $142, the rest were extra fees added afterwards.

Also when I picked up the truck, it was almost out of gas. I had to spend an additional $119 fueling it up before going anywhere because apparently they expect you to spend your money fueling up the truck the previous person left empty.

So in total, I spent almost $550 to rent the truck for 24hrs. Unbelievable.

Picked up a motorcycle trailer today. Never used one before but Justin Ross helped me get setup and even gave me some tips on using it. Will be back for all my trailer needs forsure!

Complete disaster. Dealt with this U-Haul multiple times and awful service each time. I would highly recommend using any other option other than this business. Staff is rude, lack knowledge and ignorant to all customers needs. Including trucks being not ready for over an hour with early check in complete and passed over in pathetic condition.

The vehicle interior was filthy. There was garbage in the console, the inside of the windshield was dirty, spills all over the cup holders. The windshield wipers didn't work and were in need of replacement and the fluid wouldn't spray more than the bottom 1/4 of the windshield.
Had requested a dolly and was told one was in the vehicle, there wasn't.

Somewhat disappointed with my experience with this place. About two months ago I went there to ask about getting a trailer hitch put on my SUV. The manager recommended their products and services and gave me a quote, opened a file and told me to shop around and find other quotes before ordering from him. I told him I needed the hitch and to rent a trailer from there, for a camping trip starting July 4th. I went back about 3 weeks later and confirmed my order. The person on the desk couldn't find my file. The manager remembered me and got a new file started and the parts ordered. As of today, June 30th the main hitch has not arrived. Every time I inquired I was told that the order was for installation on or before July 23rd. I told them over and over that I needed it by July 4th. They couldn't seem to change that date. I rented a truck from their competitors for July 4th. Too bad. It us now one year later. Went back to see if they are able to get me a hitch this year. Found they had a new manager and thought I would give them a second chance. Ordered a hitch and got an appointment for installation today. Parts all arrived on time. Thought things are looking up. Unfortunately the main hitch they got in is not the right one for my vehicle. Got them to install the wiring harness. Postponing the main installation of the hitch itself for a week which is when the correct main apparatus is expected to be here. I sure hope it all works out. Everyone here has been very nice. No complaints about the people.

No cruise control on the trucks have to go far out of my way to return when there's one 4 min from my new home

I gave 3 stars as the truck itself was clean and reliable. Wait time was long as always- but that is to be expected at any uhaul. The younger guys working there were helpful and super nice. The lady at the front desk seemed grumpy but I brushed it off. Early morning, long day ahead of you at work. I get it. After I checked in I had some more questions about the truck.as I felt my 2 bedroom apartment might not actually fit into the 15ft truck I had rented. My first time renting a moving truck and so I don’t know a whole lot about the sizes. I don’t think that’s a big deal. All I wanted was for someone to confirm it should be alright. Maybe a stupid question, but it was an honest question and I know I was polite and patient about it. So It was suggested to go ask Kirstyn her opinion. She immediately seemed irritated about the question and said (across the store in front of all the customers) in such a rude tone “I don’t know. It should fit a 2 bedroom, but if it doesn’t fit and I said it will, it will be my fault. So I’m not saying anything”. Not necessary.

She was rude and her tone was super condescending. Anyways, I went about my move and everything fit (barely) but it fit.

Truck we rented was great. Staff we quickly dealt with were just as great. It was an awesome experience from start to finish.

Found what we needed after much running around, I think this was our 5th Uhaul store. Van we rented smelled like manure, Staff were utterly indifferent even when advised the van was going out again right away. We did get a small discount for it though. Also didn’t care about the addition unmarked damages we discovered but did not make. Van ran well though and the shocks were well and truly bouncy! Overall the rental was uneventful though very expensive. $19.99 is a bit of a misrepresentation as it only includes a certain number of km and we went over that at $0.56/km and the insurance is over and above that also.

I wish I could review them below 0. Pathetic service pathetic customer service infect I should say it’s a joke in name of customer service. They will sell you stuff which you would never use it and when you try to return it they would get abusive and disrespectful. Lady calls herself manager is worst of all staff

This place is an unorganized circus, with unprofessional clowns. Reserved a car hauler, was then told hours later that they actually didn't have it till the next day and 30 minutes further. On pick up day for the trailer, hooked it up to the truck then they said "oH tHE LiGHts dONt wORk, wE caNT lET yoU tAKe iT, AnD itS RESeRvEd toMorRoW, THerEs nOThinG wE cAN dO" all while having a rude, ignorant, couldn't care less attitude. Place is a joke

Reserved a truck for an early morning move only to be told "That location didn't stage the truck. " What more can I say? Avoid this location at all costs unless you want to be paying movers for time that you don't have a truck which YOU RESERVED AND PAID FOR.

THE worst U-Haul in the city. The drop off is ridiculous, you always have to wait 20+ minutes for a service rep, and if you go inside for service, they snap at you that you have to wait outside. The staff are rude, unpleasant and straight up incompetent. AVOID THIS DEPOT AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.

Make sure you check the mileage and the gas when you pick up the truck. Plus customer service severely lacking.

There is little doubt why U-Haul is the go to for so many people when it comes to moving and towing. Recently rented a car trailer and it was inexpensive and the staff made sure I was safely set up. Thanks

Friendly staff helped me out right as I came in the door. I would recommend using this place for any box you could think of! All types of sizes, was extremely helpful with my move!

The only uhaul I've had good luck with consistently, staff were quick and had the truck ready fast.

I learned my lesson and won't bother with other locations anymore.

They charged me 20 dollars for gassing up the VAN based on their chart while I gassed up their VAN 10 min before I return it. This is kind of stealing money from their customer pocket! Definitely wouldn't refer people to them nor will I be using them again.

Poor customer service; waited in line for over 40 minutes to get my car key for the trailer installed and already paid for. The trailer hitch had a piece of weld inside preventing my hitch bike rack proper insertion. Took me over 90 minutes to grind it out.

Takes forever to get anything done in this place. Very, very slow only one person working at the counter with a line up of people at any given time.

No stars, worst experience ever. My van broke down today. Was told i could rent a truck from here for transportation till tomorrow evening and it would coat 188 with some change. I hadnto catch a cab to the closest rbc to remove the pin lock from MY CREDIT CARD, WITH MY NAME ON IT. MATCHES MY PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (DRIVERS LICENSE)
Got back with everything good to go, the lady helping me before went on a break and i had to deal with the manager who just got to work. She couldnt even look me in the eye, all of a sudden numbers on my accound changed and names changed she changed the price and told me i had to put on a 500 dollar deposit and truck had to be back tonight by 6 pm instead of tomorrow. My boyfriend and i had to carry all of our belongings to a friends house quite a few blocks away. Im a single mother who now cant find a way home tonight to get to work tomorrow morning. Im not impressed definitely do not reccomend this place to anyone. Im stranded in edmonton with my boyfriend and limited money. Thanks wesy end uhaul.

I just use it for monthly storage cause it was the cheapest place I could find. Ghetto here though, and the cleaners and truck guys just seem like slow stoners

Large inventory of vehicles to choose from along with moving packing materials such as specifically designed cartons, packing tape, furniture and mattress protection covers etc. They also buyback cartons at 100% price if it is unused. You can also drop off vehicles after office hours through easy online check out system. Please ensure privacy settings on your phone to “ allow location access” to all Apps in order to enable online checkout of vehicles after their office hours. Remember you still need to drop off vehicles at the designated location and to upload photos of parked vehicle to proceed with online checkout.

Very clean place very organized place very helpful and lots of storage space for rent good deals would suggest going here if in the area or need to rent a truck or trailer.

I could give them a 0 stars would! They have the worst customer service. The lady name Nicole is the worst on customer service. After complaining about her many times.she is still there! And give everyone a bad attitude! She is screaming at customer and speaking and dirty language.

Worst service i have ever had. I have rented before, and the service has become worse and worse. I cannot even complain properly as there is no options for complaints, and when calling to complain after waiting 20 minutes on chat, i was told wait time was 10-15 minutes, currently at 26 minutes to complain about waiting 2 hours to rent a trailer which they told me was a 7 prong connector but was not, after the told me they rented me a trailer that was not even there.
28 minutes still waiting to talk to someone.
Do not give these guys your business if you are on a schedule.you will be extremely put out and they are completely unreliable.

My daughter rented a 15' cube van. As she had completed a lot of the documentation online, once we got there, we were in and out on the road with minimal delay. We put 40 km on the vehicle, put gas in it as we didn't want to pay more than. 40 cents more per litre, however, on return there was a 'discussion' on whether we put enough gas in. They finally decided to let it go but frankly this was a negative experience. Prior to covid, I rented vehicles 4 or 5 times a year when I travelled and it has become quite common for car rental places to tell you to put in the amount of gas based on where the gas needle is when you rent the vehicle. Of course, when returning said vehicle, it's very subjective as to where the needle lays on the display. Overall, it wasn't there worst vehicle rental experience. With mileage, one day rental insurance and the gas we put in, total cost was just over 100.00 TIP: Take several pics from different angles of the gas needle position as it's will probably save you a 'discussion' when returning the vehicle.

What a waste of my time waiting in line for 40 minutes to see only 2 people inside the store doing nothing, you guys should close down instead, I recommend people to go somewhere else than Uhaul

I rented a truck and had to keep it an extra 3 days. I let them know and they were very understanding. I paid for the extra days and they were extremely friendly and fair price. I would rent from them any time I need a truck and would recommend that location to anyone. Thank you for going above and beyond there duty.

Rented a 26' truck for a move and needed to rent a dolly which took over an hour just to get. Then when returning the truck and was there on time for 8am next day but was in line and was just past that, was charged an extra 143 about for the thing. Never will I use uhaul again.
Their truck windows were also very dirty and had to clean them ourselves

The staff member I spoke to was extremely rude and disrespectful. When I asked if the hitch she recommended was compatible with the trailer I wanted, she said "you can try". Terrible attitude - acted as though I was stupid to ask this question and was wasting her time.

They wasted over an hour of my time and I
Missed an important meeting because of them. I ordered my U-haul several days prior to make things go as smooth as possible and they still dropped the ball. Everything they do is completely outdated. My experience was so bad I’m never supporting U-haul again.

Terrible individual watching it on Saturday was absolutely useless over 6 people walked out while I was upset at such a poor location for a Saturday

It was so busy in the store and I was so thankful that the worker still took time out to help me bring the boxes to my car. I really just couldn't see to carry them.

Dennis & Nicole went above and beyond with helping me, I have used this specific location before and have always been treated good and find the same level of professionalism when it comes to my things in storage. Thank you SO MUCH Dennis & Nicole you both deserve a raise in this gals eyes!

Great staffs working there! It was easy and fast to book one of their vehicles and I love the online checking in to speed up the process. Their vehicles were cleaned and love the awesome staffss there!

I will never use this location for my Uhaul rentals ever again. I spoke to two separate reps here that tried to rent a car dolly to me for over double the quoted price. I eventually called a different location down the road and they accommodated my online quote of $516 immediately, where as this place wanted to charge me $1200+. PLEASE shop before you buy.

Bought boxes and a few other things for moving and I appreciate that they helped me bring them to my car! Also will buy back boxes which is apparently just a U-Haul thing but definitely a nice perk!

Called the day before, got a truck the next morning for 7am. A little funky giving the truck back but at the end of the day everything worked fine so overall I had a *4.5* experience.
- tell your customers to park the truck on the side of the building when we're done
- confirm I understand submitting my DL with my phone. I asked "is there anything else I need to know/do before I get there? " "Yes, the text I'm sending you now is a link to upload your Driver License. " Is a better response than "no"

Its a great storage place but they dont cater to ppl very well once you pay a month if you dont utilize the whole month you get jipped cause if you move your belongings half way through the month they dont prorate the days for the month just a deposit fee plus the monthly rate and a lock for your locker they're style of lock and a couple just afew lockers away from us they had their locker broken into so i think they should upgrade their system and perhaps bave a secure log in carport of some kind cause its not covered so anything can happen when you go to log in

It is my third time renting from this location, and they've always been very helpful and answered all my questions.

This uhaul literally saved our move! We had booked a hitch installation at a different uhaul and got told the night before that they couldn't do it and we'd have to postpone by two weeks.we called around and this uhaul managed to get us in the next day and saved us some money on the hitch! We decided to go back to get the trailer hooked up and they were once again wonderful! They hooked up the trailer in -30 weather and when we came back with extra furniture pads they were so helpful in making sure we weren't charged for them on the other side! I would highly recommend this uhaul to anyone, they went above and beyond for us!

It was a pretty decent service, but their biggest problem is that they never answer their phone

I'm going to start off by saying that I use a lot of different uhauls for work and personal use.

I rented a truck today and after having left I noticed that the fuel guage was almost a full 8th under what was listed on my order and that's what I was expected to bring it back at.

I really couldn't be bothered to make a fus so I carried on.

My travel used on the day was 150 miles.

When returning my truck I stopped at the esso up the road and USED UHAULS chart to put in 60 liters to bring it back to half mark witch was where we started.

It wasn't even half way, so I put in another 58$ but it stopped short AS THE TANK WAS FULL.

So roughly 108$ and it still wasn't reading full.

I figured I would straighten it out with management on arrival.

When I was parking the truck the Guage suddenly shot up to between 9/16ths and 5/8ths

Now its a 200 liter tank.considering it was short to start and was now over a similar amount we're talking roughly 40-50 liters in gas minimum

I walked in and talked to"Justin" and fully explained whst happened. And told him that his fuel gage is sticking.

He proceeded to charge me more to complete my rental, I asked him if he was going to adjust my bill and he flat out said no and clearly gave me an "its not up for discussion" attitude

I get that times are tough.i really do.but just the way the entire thing went down felt greasy af.

I usually use the uhaul on 51 Ave but used this one after having recently moved to the west end.

I will now in the future drive across the city to use that location instead of giving this location my business which is literally 10 blocks from my house.

I know U-Haul is kind-of an iffy company with not very customer-friendly policies and a lot of complaints, but I do have some good things to say about this location.

When we came to pick up the truck, the guy at the desk was very patient and clearly explained the contract, the optional add-ons, and the coverage/deductible information. We didn't leave feeling confused or uncertain in any way. We ended up struggling with this move and ended up returning the truck late (over 24 hrs). Everyone was very understanding and polite with us and the guy checking the vehicles on the lot was extremely friendly and outgoing. The best part is that I only paid ~$50 extra for going overtime.

Had much lower expectations going into this rental but ultimately worked out very well. If you have to rent a truck, try this location.

A friend rented a storage locker outside which was broken into twice in one month. First time 3 days after renting the unit and recieved a call from Uhaul notifing of the break in. The second time 2 weeks later but not notified by uhaul. They put a new lock on the unit to fix the damaged door. So, we were unable to open the lock and it took an hour for them to find the key for the lock. Ugh
They do not have a security fence or night security. Therefore, vagrants can walk or drive a bycicle through the back and watch you unload items. Camera's everywhere but too poor for police to identify the thief.
Comments on this site talked of other breakins. So, when questioned prior to renting we were reassured the problem was taken care and contents are safe.
One of the staff advised us that people are living in the indoor storage units who are possibly stealing people's contents. No proof as they can't enter a rented storage unit. My advise is DON'T RENT A STORAGE UNIT from this location.
Note: Uhaul does not offer content insurance in Alberta. Insurance companies in Alberta as well do not insure contents in storage.
Pay the extra for a well secured facility and check with the Police where they may recommend a company with no or low breakins.

Great customer service.i went there before closing to rent a trailer and the staff accomodate me very well and make sure i got what i need and not feeling being rushed.

HORRIBLE dealing with Uhaul
ALWAYS check your uhaul truck before you leave the lot! Rented a truck that was filled with disgusting clothes and urine smell. Great job on the covid cleaning Uhaul. Really great. #UhaulFamous

Last day of the month which is moving day for most. Over 20 people in line at open.only 2 people working. Only 2 people serviced in a half hour.

Slowest customer service. Self pickup tried to give me the 20’ truck instead of the 26’ truck. I’ve learnt my lesson. I will be choosing Penske next time.

Got my 26’ truck and the check engine light was on. Staff was doing his best but still not a great experience. He gave me a discount for the convenience so I bumped up my review. Promote that guy!

Put of all the storage places and vehicle rental places I have been, these guys are the best! Very helpful, knowledgeable and would highly recommend uhaul 111 ave to anyone looking to use services they provide! Also they have better proces on tow gear and locks than even can tire or Walmart!

This location really is possibly one of the worst run businesses I have ever seen. Currently in line with 12 other people and I have been waiting for over 40-mins and 5 people still in front of me.
One person at the counter.
Other employees walking around aimlessly.
I see even more employees standing around in the back talking while customers wait, and wait, and wait.
I will never come back to this location again.

Customer Service is absolutely horrible. Never get ahold of anyone. Mis communicated information.
Uhaul corporation and Uhaul stores do not communicate even though they say they will note your file.
Management will threaten to say the truck is stolen.
Over charged.
Would rather use budget or another rental vehicle company.

Bottom line, unnecessary stress and aggravation from this store and corporate.

U-Haul doesn't have its act together as a company. Their website lets you reserve equipment at times when it isn't available, but you have to wait till an employee calls by the next day to inform you that you can't have the truck at 10: 30am tomorrow as reserved, and they don't have anything until 4: 30pm. And then you get there and they have five of the truck you wanted to rent. And an employee tells you the truck is on the opposite side of the building from where it actually is, so have fun finding that. And they didn't actually give you the furniture pads you paid for.

Service was good the mini truck was in poor condition so i could feel every crack on the Edmonton roads. Staff was very nice

Went there on a Sunday morning as soon as they opened to pick up purchased boxes; there were about 20 people in line and one cashier. If it means cheaper products (which the boxes certainly weren't.) then I might be okay waiting a little bit

Second time I had to wait more then half an hour just to buy some boxes. Four people behind the desk. And 10 people in line wait to be severed and they cant manage to forward there calls to trafficking like there suppose to. Very disappointed. Everyone in the line is complaining at how bad the service is.

Incredibly long time waiting in line. But the worker in the shop was doing the best he could. Only 2 people on shift, incredibly short-staffed and although we did not reserve we were able to get a pick up fairly easily. Impressed that the truck had the stop start feature. Any other time I have rented a vehicle for this purpose, they vehicles were very old.

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service. Had a truck booked for a month they call me 20 hours before my pickup to change it from 24hrs to 7 hours only. And earlier during the day. Making the truck completely useless to me during the times they changed it to. Tried calling them it wouldn't even ring.went in and they had their landlines unplugged. And yet they couldn't even manage to help me fix it when I went in. The staff would push aside my questions and not answer them. And when I repeated my question they got angry. Never again! Penske may be more expensive with the security deposit but if you're smart you will get it back!

Extremely short staffed which lead to ridiculously long waiting times, whoever makes the schedules needs to be fired. The employees did the best they could but as a business this is easily a 2 star. Also beware when reserving with uhaul ahead of time as they do not guarantee the equipment you reserved which does not make any sense at all. What is the point in reserving equiptment? 3 days before our move we were called and told that they did not have a tow dolly available, yet we had reserved it 2 weeks ago. Thankfully employees who knew what they were doing helped us out the day we were moving but overall extra stress that could have been avoided by not using uhaul!

I do not have a good experience. Some people do not serve the customer well and the prices are high because they charge you extra for the kilometers you do. Homedepot is better

Returned a rented vehicle and also rented a storage locker from them. They did lose my initial locker reservation but the Manager stepped in and made sure I was looked after. Staff is not always the quickest and that's why only 4/5 stars. But they ultimately took good care of us.

It was poor customer service the storages are all open on top stuff was stollen nothing has been done about it watch them lose quite a few costumers today due to there line ups and lack of customer service

Booked a U-Haul for 24 hrs. A week before we were set to move they changed the time to an 8 hour period. When I phoned to confirm that we had the truck for 24hrs the customer service agent assured me that it was a 24 hr rental. The day we were supposed to pick the truck up they informed us we only had it for 8hrs.

I have never dealt with Uhaul before in my life I called to rent a trailer first of all I was shocked when they knew who I was by the phone number given.ok well they collect information part of a bigger company. Scary but ok. Than when I get there I am asked for a secondary contact which I am told I need I told them flat out No I have rented maybe 50 vehicles and not once have I ever been asked that.

I get that you are just trying to collect information on the guise of protecting yourself but come on. There is no need for it.

If you are going to cater to a less than reputable crowd by charging low rates and High prices for Kms I get it a buck is a buck when you are slimy.but when you are trying to invade my privacy to collect information on me and my friends and family you will never get my business. Called to inquire purchasing boxes & moving supplies. The young lady that answered the phone was very rude and abrupt. She wasn't able to clearly answer my questions. She was short with me and wanted to get off of the phone as quickly as possible. Will go to a different company for my moving needs.

Arranged to rent a trailer online night before, and went to pick up next morning at west side U-Haul. Got there and waited about 20 minutes before someone came to help. During pickup process, representative demanded a secondary contact and insisted that they needed to call them and have them answer or have their name in their voicemail. I provided them my partners personal phone number, however he did not answer as he was at work and his voicemail had a basic message without his name. U-Haul would not let me rent this trailer without the secondary contact, and I refuse to give out the contact info for all my friends and family. I have never had to do this previously, and I have rented several U-Haul trucks and trailers in the past.

This is an unnecessary invasion of privacy, and could have had much more substantial ramifications if I was renting this trailer to escape from an abusive relationship or other circumstance, as an example. In my case, I just chose to pay for delivery with the company I was working with for an additional $50 instead of renting the trailer. This seems well worth it to never deal with this location ever again.

Called Mar. 10/20 from Lethbridge to book a trailer hitch install for my White Lincoln Town Car, parked in space V5 for Mar. 13/20. Spoke with Natasha. She was easy to speak with on the phone, and easily sold me on a full hitch install. Read some of the reviews so I showed up 45mins early. There was a lineup of 7 people, and one person on the till. The woman at the counter handled all of us with grace. However I could tell she was wore out from people by this time. Quickly signed a sheet, talked to Natasha about my Town Car's trunk lid pull down and airbag compressor shut off switch in the trunk. Was shown the ramp system the cars are backed up onto and reassured my car was in good hands.

Got a text 2 hours later that my car was finished. Showed up to no lineup. Talked to Natasha about the install. She was skilled enough to not remove an underbody trim panel from my car to install the hitch. No bumper modifications. Was impressed with the installation; had to get down on my hands and knees to see my hitch, well hidden. Natasha was also good enough to let me know about an exhaust hanger that was busted from the frame that I was unaware of. No surprise pricing for hitch, electrical, receiver and ball and was well under my local shops price for a hitch only install. Next hitch install needed I would not hesitate to drive another 5 hours to have U-haul of Westside install it.
