I came and rented e-bikes here second visit in a row since staying at The Fox gives you a 10% discount. One new worker does seem quite aggressive and miserable and tells you to fill out the ipad info and says it will auto fill since we have been before (it didn't) luckily another worker was there to just pull up our account already in the system.

We went back 2 days later to rent again and the same unhappy person was there, did not want to try and pull up the account and again told us the same thing that if we have been here it will autofill. Luckily I made sure to ask if they had the correct size before filing out the info for each person. The last small bike was only half charged and the worker said it should be fine. We ended up going to another bike rental place.

With the discount Ultimate does workout cheapest but I think Ultimate being one of the first rental shops offering bikes in Banff, their bikes have seen a bit more use. I remember last time we were in Banff cycling infrastructure wasnt as strong and dont believe there were as many shops renting as many E-bikes. If your mudguards are making a bit of noise or your motor is a bit tired feeling just know you should be fine and after comparing 3 other rental places Ultimate still has the most upright comfortable E-bikes. I just don't think the equipment is as maintained as other rental shops.

That all being said if I walked in and a more pleasant worker was there I'd consider still renting again since the discount does help.

I visited the shop to see if they could help me with my old ski boots as they were destroying my toes. I spoke to Dylan who advised me about insoles. I purchased some but unfortunately my old boots were just passed it.
I went back the next day and spoke to the main guy who fits the boots. I’m really sorry but I forgot your name!
What this guy didn’t know about ski boots wasn’t worth knowing. He measured my up and explained that the boots I had been sold years ago were too big for me!
He recommended some Salomon high volume boots but when I was fitted they didn’t have my exact size.he then explained that he wouldn’t fit me in a boot that he wasn’t 100% happy with so he recommended another store. Even though I didn’t buy the boots from Ultimate I was really impressed with the service and the honesty of the boot guy.
What a refreshing, professional and genuine service.

Great place! We hired bear spray from here and the staff were so friendly, patient and helpful explaining how to use it. Highly recommend

I had chosen Ultimate because of ratings, but felt let down. Perhaps lower end rentals have better results. They did provide well priced ski rentals ($308.70 for 2 pairs for 3 days, including damage coverage) and friendly staff, however, they did not deliver “Premium” products. Very limited supply and, perhaps because late in the season, not in great condition. I returned my first skis after first day and requested sharpening but was instead offered another set, which had better edges but not nearly adequate for the conditions. Staff indicated that they could not realistically sharpen for each rental? ! I ended up getting second set sharpened on the hill and was in line with 2 other renters from Ultimate that were also getting their skis sharpened. When I returned to Ultimate they refused to set off any of the cost I incurred ️. Lesson relearned - will schlep my own skis from now on!

Rented some ice cleats for our day trips, these folks made us so happy, we asked to keep them for an extra few days without a hassle. Amazing service, thanks so much!

Easy, quick rental, have some great premium boards; I took out the Salomon Assassin - great board! Had to return it a day early due to severe weather warning which they allowed - THANK YOU SO MUCH for allowing this! 100% recommend.

I rented a ski jacket here for my wife. The pick up and drop off was relatively straight forward and my wife enjoyed the jacket.
The reason I’m giving 3 stars is due to the customer service I received. We arrived in Banff a bit late in the evening 8: 30 pm but I saw that the Ultimate sports store was open until 9 pm, so I decided to go to pick up a jacket that night instead of having to go in the morning before heading to the hill. When I entered the store the gentleman on the front desk was, what seemed to be closing out his cash, tallying receipt and whatnot. I told him that I’m looking to rent a ski jacket. At that point, the gentleman from rentals popped his head around the corner and just says “no” and shakes his head and the guy at front desk says, “rentals are closed, nothing I can do for you”. If the store isn’t able to do business during the 30 mins prior to close then I’m not sure why it is open.
Fast forward to the next day, I come back and rent the jacket and then bring it back later that night. When I get back to my hotel I realize that my wife left her ID in the inside pocket of the jacket. I call the store and explain the situation and ask if they found an ID, thinking that they would check the pockets when an item is returned. The gentlemen who answered the phone, I believe the same gentleman from the night before, tells me that the store is super busy and that he can’t ask anyone at the moment to look through the massive pile of laundry for the ID, but he welcomes me to come to the store and look for myself. I hop in my vehicle and head to the store to try to find the ID, I arrive within 5 minutes. When I arrive the store, the gentleman who answered the phone was sat at the front desk, and the store is empty, with no customers. My wife and I go back to sort through the “massive” pile of laundry to see a total of 5 jackets. My wife and I found the ID within 30 seconds of searching.
On a positive note, like I mentioned previously, the jacket itself was comfortable and kept my wife warm on the hill.

Dylan and Avery were super kind and helpful getting x country ski rentals. Very reasonable rates.

We rented ski equipment and skates here. They were reasonably priced, and the staff were always super friendly and helpful.

We rented e-bikes from them today. They have a variety of styles in high quality bikes. They service was good.

One of our bikes ended up having a battery problem so I called the shop and 15 minutes later a smiling employee delivered a fully charged bike to us - problem solved in the best way possible.

When we returned the bikes the shop went even further to make sure we had a great day; no charge for the defective bike! And they apologized many times.

We couldn't have asked for better service. Kudos to the whole team who recognized the problem and took care of us.

Rented a mountain bike there. Bike was absolutely amazing, staff was super friendly/ helpful, and the whole experience was great!

We hired FS Bikes from Ultimate (Scott Genius) for a blast on the local trails.
The bikes were in excellent shape, set up well, the staff we excellent - very knowledgeable on the local trails, very knowledgeable, and very friendly.
I’d recommend Ultimate Sports 100% for local Banff MTB Hire.

Definitely you want to come early than running late. I came 3 days ago and asked about what skis my girlfriend and her friends should get when they were not busy. Staffs were very very very professional and patient. They gave my good answer and told me don't worry they will never run out of skis. But when we came yesterday, they just thrown whatever close to their hand make us go away as soon as possible. I questioned him whether it was the right ski and they just say it should be good. I came back to hotel I found two out of three pairs are in wrong size and type of skis. And will definitely ruin my friends' day on a nice pow day. Had to come back at 7am to exchange skis!

Lors de notre séjour à Banff en décembre 2021, nous avons utilisé leur service de location pour des crampons pour de la randonnée et des patins à glace pour aller au Lac Louise.

Les deux fois, nous avons eu des employés serviables, connaissants, souriants et accueillants.

Ils savent s'adapter à leurs clients. Ils vont gentiment vous montrer comment fonctionne l'équipement (ce que j'ai vu auprès d'autres clients lorsque j'ai retourné le mien), ou encore vous laisser aller s'ils voient que vous connaissez bien ce que vous faites.

La boutique est bien située de façon centrale sur l'avenue Banff. La partie location est à l'arrière et regorge d'une quantité d'équipement assez incroyable.

Les prix sont compétitifs.

Bref, c'est un endroit que je vous recommande vivement!

The staff at this store are probably the nicest I've ever dealt with. Super helpful and knowledgeable. I'd start with this shop for anything skiing related.

The staff are super nice and friendly. They helped me catch the shuttle at the last minute. And you would get a much better skis than renting from the resort. I would definitely come back again!

Had an awesome experience with every single staff member I encountered here! I rented an awesome demo ski and I’m super glad I did! The knowledge they were able to share with me was super helpful and I’m so glad I rented from them. Will definitely be back to demo more skis next month!

These guys are absolutely awesome! Great price for a full day electric bike rental and extremely convenient location. The guy who rented us our bikes gave a fantastic recommendation to ride around the golf course. Initially we thought that sounded pretty lame but we had the time and energy after circling Lake Minnewanka so we went for it. It ended up being the highlight of the day! We even got to watch a dozen or so elk wandering around the paths and grazing on grass (including a rutting bull elk - yes we kept our distance).
They let us switch out our bikes half way through the day to make sure we didn't run out of battery power! All around great service and experience.

Was at the store on April 5th, 2021 to pick up rental skis and snowboard.
I had reserved the equipment via their booking site on March 29th, 2021.
As soon as I got to the store to pick up the gear I was told by their only employee that all orders were cancelled due to their entire staff contracting COVID-19.
The one guy onsite was the only one who didn't have to self-isolate and orders from upper management was that the store was only open to "collect previously rented equipment". (strangely enough I saw the employee trying to sell gear to a few customers in the store right before I entered the premises)
We were going skiing the next day and were taken by surprise when they told us that we couldn't rent the equipment and that our reservation had been cancelled.
I simpatize with retail employees as they are at risk of contracting COVID-19, but I don't agree with the way that the company dealt with the imminent cancellation of all reservations.
They should have contacted us with at least 24 hours to let us know that the reservation had been cancelled. The lack of management in dealing with their internal crisis literally cost us money as we had to run to another store in the region and rent equipment for twice the price.

If management is reading this, please, let your customers know beforehand if something is changing in their reservations.
For all other current and future customers of this store, I strongly recommend you calling them a day before to confirm that everything is ok, so you won't have to rush with your kids across town looking for last minute gear rentals.

Verbal apologies won't recoup the extra $200 I had to spend at the competitor store.
