Of the Latino supermarkets…this is the best…excellent service! Friendly faces! They always have what I'm looking for and the best…. The.delicious food! Thank you!
Best Latin market that I have come across in YYC. I regularly visit Unimarket to grab corn tortillas (they have mini ones which are great for tacos) and fresh hot tamales. My only complaint is that parking can be tricky when busy.
Loved my first two visits, but my third visit was so terrible that I could never go back. Our Burritos were so soggy that they disintegrated in our hands. Literally could not pick them up. The wrap was basically soaking wet tortilla shell, it was almost liquid itself. The burrito toppings were basically completely sold out by 2pm on a Monday, and the owner was standing outside just hanging with friends and smoking. I had high hopes to be a regular here, but unfortunately I will not be back.
First time going here and most likely the last time as well. No one greeted us or said anything until we got to the check out. Location was small and most the food was expensive. When we got to the check out the guy was quite rude to us saying that’s all your going to buy. I shrugged it off but very unprofessional at least we bought something from your store. Won’t be back until staff are better trained in customer service.
Originally came here to try the birria quesadilla, but because they ran out of all the meats I wanted, I was left with choosing my third choice, beef barbacoa. I came well before closing so that was a bit of a disappointment. But overall it still tasted great and such a fair price. Staff was very welcoming and great at conversing, only when they aren't busy though, of course!
Very little products actually have prices listed on them. Very difficult to shop for latin products here. At least their fresh cooked food is good and had prices listed.
The best tacos in the city! And their dessert is fresh and flavourful. I truly enjoy the food and the service. Stop wasting time buying tacos in restaurants. Unimarket is where it's at!
If you are looking for latin products, this is your place! You will find delicious and fresh bakery and Latin food, also great location. They make better your visit by displaying latin music, so this store is a little bit of Latin America.
The one in the south is much bigger, but you'll find pretty much anything in this smaller market. Give it a try first if it's closer to you. Almojabanas and empanadas from the food counter to go were delicious. Everything is clean and very well kept and the staff is extremely friendly and nice, as always.
Authentic Latino foodstuffs. They also offer all sorts of prepared foods to eat in or take out. I tried chicken tacos.delicious! And bought a stack of soft corn shells to cook at home. Will definitely shop there again!
This is where we shop for all of our Latin food. The customer service is always good and their selection of dried peppers is great. Availability of some of their Brazilian products is hit or miss, but I like supporting a local business so am willing to accept it.
The renovations really opened up the space, walking through the store is pleasant. There's a wicked little back room area with a good selection of flours that are essential to my Central American diet; the Maseca Azul literally brought happiness to my mother. The refrigerated area provided me with the queso fresco for my rye (pictured), but they also have fresh chorizo that's pretty hard to pass up. You can find essentials for making tamales of any style, but you can also find ready-made tamales and other frozen, ready-made foods in the deep freeze. The baked goods are highlighted beautifully. You can find everything you need for a typical Latin American breakfast. If you ask for anything in bulk they always try their best to order it in. The service is fresh to death- staff are always so polite.
Awesome tacos joint! Made fresh right in front of you. I think their neat is the best and for a tax joint, it is right up there with Tecos Mexico and Taqueria Charrito. I also buy other items from their grocery stores, like chips and salsa. Lastly, now they have an expresso bar! Very good.
UniMarket is a great, authentic and unique place, with only two locations in Calgary. The price is not that cheap but is totally worth it, the amazing quality of products, baked goods and the food made there. The people there are nice and welcoming, with a great environment. Everyone working there is mostly bilingual (Spanish&English).
The food is good, and also the service, the bad thing is that they sell food in containers that are harmful to health, because those containers have carcinogenic components that adhere to the food when it is hot you should not sell food in those container, it is not healthy to put food there, not morally correct
Hidden gem on Edmonton Trail. They had everything that I needed to try and replicate Mexican desserts. They have a taco stand inside that I am dying to try.
Great variety of groceries from most of the Latin American countries, they make you feel like you are home. It's a plus that they also serve fresh food for lunch or take out.
Best tacos in town! And if you like tacos you will LOVE empanadas Colombianas. Great pastries as well. This is the best place to get Latin food in Calgary hands down. While I love the south location, this Edmonton Trail location is becoming my favourite. Friendly bilingual English-Spanish staff, great fresh food, and excellent stock of shelved and frozen Latin products, there is everything to love here!
There's plenty of Latin and Mexican products to choose from. It's good for going every once in a while to get some yummy snacks or ingredients for Mexican cuisine. Prices are not crazy high. Parking was a bit tricky, especially with all the snow covering the stalls.
