UniMarket Latin Food Calgary

We really like this store. We find all our Mexican goodies and food. We have also tried tacos, which are always very well served, and the salsas are tasty. The staff is always friendly, both in the food area and in the store.

Very convenient place to purchase most of Latin American favorite foods. Unfortunately all items we were looking for were not available. Very clean and organized. Items are somehow overpriced, but at least you can have it in Calgary. Highly recommended.

Love unmarked, u can eat food from the restaurant then have dessert from the bakery and do your shopping for Hispanic spices and much more!

I am Colombian, and this Latin store is the closest thing here to those of my country, very friendly people, comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, rich food and great variety. Excellent place

I went there today after long time and honestly horrible I went to cashier and no one welcomed and looked at me wrong I work in customer service I don’t like to complain but needs to improve even manager was there he didn’t care didn’t say sorry cashier didn’t say I will help who’s next I said have a good day mumble something in between teeth I Said what went away so is this how going treat customers judging on appearance and looks and follow me. To door when I left I paid my stuff and I wasn’t dressed in no way formal or nothing wrong but u cannot judge a customer how they look how they act or talk I speak Spanish too I’ve always come with my family and never happened you need to train your staff look nice to you’re customers no dirty look eyes and posture say it all negative and honestly. I never felt more un welcomed before here I never wanna complain but I’ll speak to some one else if this isn’t improved great everyone the same I waited in line for while no assistance dirty look speaking between eachother not profesional I speak in English but understand Spanish speak too so pls don’t do that be profesional and not rude service needs to improve 100 % other wise lots of. People won’t come I don’t like to complain I just felt un welcomed un safe and very unprofessional on ur staff … pls consider my comment and fix it thanks I hope customer service improve more and store more friendly to come to cooks are amazing and coffee shop no issues just cashiers today afternoon gentlemen’s there and manager I won’t go back if I can shop nice and enjoy it there thank u I love the items you have from many country but prices a bit high I know there inflation but pls don’t go to expansive just consider it we don’t have to many Latino places here Calgary I’m glad u guys are one I would like to be feeling happier leaving the store thanks

The prices are beginning to be abusive, it is natural that they take advantage of the way people treat them, sometimes some labels are incorrect and they refuse to respect the published price.

I wanted to tell you that the truth is, we left your restaurant very disappointed the other time. And I was excited to go so my husband could try Colombian food with some of our friends. But the attention was very bad. From the moment we arrived, it seemed like the employees were in another world and kept us waiting longer than expected. The dark-haired lady with the bun who was at the cash register, was totally rude, and didn't even know English, just like the others who were supposedly "serving. " My husband tried to speak in Spanish, but instead of helping him, they ignored him. A lack of respect! And apart from the bad service, I won't even tell you about the food. Expensive and tasted strange, like old. They say the ingredients are fresh, but the flavor and the flies kept screaming otherwise. Also on the other side where they sold coffee I asked for bread from a girl who I heard they called Jessica, who came out from inside, and when she went to grab the bread, she took it from a place full of flies, very disgusting. And when I asked her to change it for one that wasn't all over the place, she seemed very rude.
A recommendation, they should have friendlier people who speak English and who are not so rude. We and our friends feel very lost to order and also disgusted. What a shame we had! Honestly, I can't tell anyone to go to your restaurant after this heavy experience. I hope they take these criticisms seriously and improve the service and food at that restaurant.
We have just arrived from our trip to visit Calgary, which is a beautiful and very impressive city where, except for this, we had the best experiences and so tired and everything I didn't want to go to bed without first doing this review that I had pending! If I could rate them 0 stars I would! What a shame that place!

I don't understand how they can sell the food in such bad condition, they are not giving us the food, we are paying for it, today I was disappointed in this place, but a suckling pig and a sancocho, the food was cold and in bad condition, I can't believe it.option to put a photo otherwise it will show you the poor quality of the food in this place I am more than sure that it was food from two days ago up to 35 dollars in this and when I went to ask for my money back they did not do it. I would never recommend this place.fatal experience today.

Went there to pick up few groceries today, waiting to order empanadas Chileans. Staff walked by me, didnt acknowledged I was waiting for service. Waited for 8 minutes in front of the empanadas, asian guy walkes next to me. Immediately get service. Its a shame, their services. I've been going there since the past 8 years. I brought it up to one ofthe cashiers attention, she was very helpful. 5 people behind the till, no one didn't ask for help. As they continue to talk with one another.

I love Colombian food, i like bandeja paisa and Colombian bowl, Chicharrón but i think their food is lacking some flavour or more seasoning, But its good still, thanks

This place is a gem! We got a take home taco kit that was delicious (you can choose what protein/ salsas you want) and it was a great dinner for 2 people. Donuts and empanadas were great too! And the staff is lovely. Will definitely be back. Amazing selection of grocery items/ frozen meals from the kitchen (tamales, passion fruit pulp etc).

Loved their bowls, tacos, and desserts! The atmosphere transports you to a typical Latin upscale eatery.

Great place to get Latin food and groceries. Always a clean and nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly but wouldn't go the extra mile to help. In general it is a great place to visit and enjoy good Latin food.

Delicious menu. The burritos are as big as mucho burrito but taste way better. Worth making the drive if ya don’t live in central calgary

Love this place and so glad someone told me about it! The cafe makes great shrimp tacos! Everything is so fresh. The bakery beside makes awesome empanadas.

In this place works a guy named Julio who likes to harass the young girls who come to work there. I heard that he is an illegal worker. He made my friend's daughter quit because of this. Also, he often predisposes the girls to have discomfort between them for his enjoyment, which is kind of weird. As if that were not enough, the bread he prepares always come with “surprises” like hair (gross). I wish I could add zero stars!

Large but bland burrito, was expecting much better. Store has amazing stuff not seen in regular supermarkets!

This market is clearly striving to be the Latin version of the ever popular Italian markets. Walking in this afternoon to grab lunch I was very impressed with the upgrading. I have been going there for years because the food is excellent and authentic. They now have a great seating area with nice comfortable chairs and attractive wooden tables. The market/grocery area seems to be laid out nicely. I will be back to explore the market next time for sure. Highly recommend!

Great choice and selection, but I paid almost $30 for shipping only one province over, and they just loosely threw my items in a large box, with no packing paper, so the 6 pack of soda crushed the chip bags and blew them open during shipping. I definitely expected a little more care and thought than that.

Good selection, especially hard to find items at "regular " stores. In store food counter offers good eats! Renovated, and looks great!

Incredible market and bakery for all things Latin, amazingly fresh and they have a kitchen to order hot items. Lots of unique grocery items as well and fresh made tortilla!

Great place to eat authentic latin food. Delicious with variety of flavors, also noticed that is a convenient place for Paleo diet.

What a great store with all my favorite sauces. Has all the specialty peppers for cooking too! Staff are lovely and helpful, the pastries were delicious. I will have to return to try the restaurant.

Hidden gem for Latin American food. I recommend the Colombian Country Platter, the Chilaquiles and the Empanadas.

Great place, good service and very very friendly, just awesome experience every time, only one flaw, no air conditioning, on these days of extreme heath, make the visit very suffocating, can’t imagine how would it be working there, other than that, just awesome

Used to be one of my favorite spots. Still has excellent quality authentic food but the value factor is not there anymore. Fairly expensive now but they have added a very nice cafe.

Very nice specialty items that you won’t find in regular grocery stores. Friendly and helpful staff. Many delicious looking items in the cafe, but i was in a rush and the lunch lineup had already formed, so will try next time.

I am very disappointment of this establishment to be honest. The products and the food is good. I came the other day with my friends to eat and I was very surprised of how the superviser reprimend to the girl who took my order. It seems very vulgar to do it in front of the customers, it made me feel very uncomfortable. She was very mean and rude, I feel very bad for the poor girl. I do not think that it was very professional, I cannot believe that they treat the workers like they are nonhuman. I hope the owner takes some action into it.

I stopped by for lunch with a co-worker today and let me tell you their food was delicious! I had their Bandeja Paisa and it was incredible. Camila was also super friendly and helped explain the menu to me so I could order something I would enjoy. Highly recommend coming here for lunch or just to get some groceries!

An amazing face lift for the better. We were there last week not having gone for more than a few months and saw the new menu and it was incredible how different the place is now. The staff was very friendly and much more attentive. The layout of the menu very easy to read and the new additions like the Colombian bowl tasted awesome. We learnt that it was under new management which clearly has been a positive to both the taste of the food and the overall experience.

Extremely overpriced and not a very good selection on produce most of there "fresh" for example there plátanos and avocado was rotting.

I love shopping here, as they have an amazing selection of Latin food. I shop here on a weekly basis. The staff are great, however I find it frustrating having to buy guacamole at a food bar. I drive all the way to Unimarket to shop there weekly and can't stand waiting in line while food is being prepared for a couple containers of guacamole. Why not put it in the fridge? Makes no sense having to ask for a container after waiting for 20 minutes sometimes while customers are waiting for their meals to be prepared. I have raised the issue too many times with staff for no results!

Can't say enough! We love the food here and eat here often. We ordered a bunch of food for a party and picked it up, our fault for not checking but they had forgotten 3 tamales. We called and they dropped them off to us downtown even after they had closed and gave us some extra treats too! Thank you so much!

I went there twice before and the cheese was damaged.
And I was there last week and the tamales and empanadas made my daughter sick. Food poisoning.
Just be careful. Also everything is overpriced.

Fantastic latin store in the south of Calgary, with tons of products from latin america. In addition, they have fresh food ready to go, and if you work nearby it is a great place for lunch. They also carry Ricoza colombian chorizos which are delicious and highly recommended. Their customer service is topnotch, so you can't really go wrong by visiting them.

Perfecto! Excellent source for Latin groceries and fresh foods. The Mexican tamales are the best in Calgary. Helpful and friendly staff. Fair prices for import goods. Well worth a visit.

I had some of your lechona last weekend and to be honest, you should not advertise this as lechona, it's basically rice and a small portion of pork!

Great fresh food, great selection of Latino foods, only downside is that they’re currently out of Guarana.

Something about Latin culture that I just love, and it is extremely present here. The staff are awesome and the tacos are out of this world. They are my go to spot whenever I am getting a little latin in the kitchen

It's nice to have one of a few latin markets that have a good variety of foods from latin america. I come here to buy ingredients when my family makes dishes like tamales and pupus. Also they have a nice selection of salsas. I have had the fish tacos here and omg its soooo good I definitely recommend coming here for those. Overall I enjoy this store it feels like home away from home.

Tacos so good, very authentic. Burritos made for big appetite, I get two meals out of this monster. Everything authentic Mexican food. And a bakery, coffee beans, and Mexican grocery aisle. A pretty cool places to visit
