Initially I reached out to Kendall to inquire about property management services. Kendall ended up helping us find an investment property as our realtor, and the experience working with him was fantastic. Even though we were out of town and did not plan on visiting Calgary, he made it simple and straightforward. From video walk throughs to recommendations for lawyers and contractors, it was clear that Kendall had a lot of experience and knew what he was doing. He is very personable, great with communication, and was above and beyond what we would expect from a realtor. We highly recommend Kendall as your realtor!

I'd like to express my gratitude today by sharing a commendation for someone truly deserving – Michael Lazarowich, an excellent realtor manager in Calgary. Despite we're being newcomers to Canada, he assisted us in securing an excellent rental downtown, accommodating us during this high-demand period, it was very straightforward, quick and efficient process. I would give zero if it was an option, the communication with this company is non existent, I guess clients don’t really matter.

The property manager is MIA, we have reached out multiple times looking for support and included the owner Ken on the communication with NO RESPONSE. How professional.

We have had kendall from unison as our leasing agent for the past 6 and a half years. There is truly no one I would trust more! He has created excellent trust with us and our last 3 tenants!

We had a rental through unison and everything was good until it came to moving out and getting our statement of account and security deposit back. Since July 31st when our lease ended I have emailed them 6 separate times without a response from Marcel Cherot, Amina Zejnilović or Mac Gray. At this point in time we are still waiting to hear back from them.

Update: after Unison's lying reply, I have added some pictures of the unit as we left it, as well as the RTDRS decision against Mike for breach of the laws listed below.

Be very careful if you are dealing with Mike Fujiwara, he has a little scam going with professional cleaning fees at the end of your lease.

I've been renting since 2016 before finally buying a house. Never had a problem with any prior landlords, always got the full damage deposit back. My last lease was unfortunately with Mike Fujiwara. We left the place spotless, and he keeps trying to charge for a professional cleaning. Now I have to battle him.

Not to bore you, but if you are a future tenant of his, the following provisions from the tenancy act may be of use to you:
19 (1) - the landlord must complete and provide tenant with an inspection report at move-in (Mike didn't).
19 (2) - landlord must provide move-out inspection (Mike did).
19 (3) - a landlord may complete an inspection without the tenant if the landlord proposes 2 inspection dates (Mike only provided one and then did a surprise move-out inspection).
46 (6) - a landlord shall not make a deduction from a tenant's security deposit for damages to the residential premises unless the requirements respecting inspection reports under section 19 have been met (they were not).
Also, 46 (5) - No deduction may be made from a tenant's security deposit for "normal wear and tear". The AB RTA Handbook, in the Normal Wear & Tear Section, gives examples of things beyond normal wear and tear that the tenant could be responsible for cleaning, which really includes egregious things like urine stains on rugs and not a speck of dust in the kitchen cabinets.

Anyways, found out the hard way that its best to try to deal with honourable people. Hope this helps someone.

We found Unison, specifically Mac, when we started planning our move back to Toronto from Calgary, in April 2022 and we could not have asked for a better experiencing working with a property management company/property manager.

When we first got in touch with Mac, we didn’t have definitive dates on when we wanted to begin the lease of our condo in Calgary, and Mac remained patient and dedicated with us, whilst being accommodating to our questions.

Once the dates were determined, he helped put the whole thing in motion, and found us a tenant within 2 weeks time of our departure. Likely due to the great photos and professional listing, or preparing a tenant in advance of our move out. He also helped with staging necessities, including coordinating minor repairs and post move out cleaning.

As our visits to Calgary are limited for the near future so we’re glad to have Mac managing our property with little to no involvement required on our behalf and are very happy with our experience working with him so far. We had Mike as our Property Manager. He was extremely helpful and attentive. He made sure that any fixes we needed to the property were done in a timely matter and followed up after each service appointment. We had to end our lease early due to unforeseen circumstances and he made sure to be as accommodating as possible. Kendall Curle was for two years our property manager for our acreage outside of Bragg Creek, AB. We were really impressed by his expertise, helpfulness and personable style and therefore also asked him to sell our property, once our tenants had moved out.

As we are currently living in the US, we couldn’t have been happier with the way Kendall managed everything pertaining to the sale of our acreage: in a difficult market (Covid, winter in the Foothills etc.) Kendall procured multiple offers for our acreage via an unheard of number of over a hundred showings; these were mainly due to Kendall’s outstanding job of marketing our property, through superbly executed photographs of our house and acreage, inside and from the outside by drone.
Communication with him was also excellent, as he updated us regularly on the showings and the general progress of the sale of our acreage, while keeping an eye on heat, clearing the snow from the steep long driveway, etc, and managed everything expertly.
Within a few months the many showings of our acreage concluded with a for us satisfactory final offer and sale of our acreage.
