Urban Butcher - Mission

Fantastic butcher shop in Calgary, would highly recommend to anyone. The butchers here are knowledgeable and friendly. They even custom cut for me as I like thick steaks to serve as family style. I enjoyed shopping here during my first time in Calgary, wanted to bring back amazing steaks to cook for dinner. Meat was tender and juicy, with a great marble. I will most definitely come back on my next visit to Calgary. Thanks again Urban Butcher!

This shop makes you feel like your not good enough to shop there unless your wealthy or atleast look wealthy. I have delt with this kinda service alot in my life as I don't dress to IMPRESS. Very disappointed and will not be coming back for any services offered after the way I was treated.

Worst customer service I’ve ever received. Whoever was at the front desk lastnight need training on how to interact with customers. I don’t normally leave reviews but that staff needs to spoken to. The product was also probably the worst I’ve purchase in the city.

Bought a Tomahawk steak from Urban Butcher. Cut very good and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Had extra money left over a couple paycheques ago and bf and i wanted to treat ourselves a bit, so we stopped in here since my bf (a chef) had heard great things. All were true. Staff was incredibly friendly, great selection, and we got the most amazing cold-smoked steaks and spent all night salivating over them. They even had some potatoes pre-wrapped in foil at the counter so we grabbed some to go with dinner and they were great too, and cheap. We will be back.

Fantastic service. Reserved a fresh turkey for Christmas and by far the best turkey we have ever had! Highly recommended!

Went to their Mission location and the guy at the registry couldn’t hide how annoyed he was when I asked 1. If he had the cut I was looking for fresh instead of frozen 2. If it was possible to cut the frozen cut I found in smaller pieces. He couldn’t hear what I was trying to say and his face revealed how annoyed he was at my who know what? ! Accent? Request? Not understanding what I was trying to say? Then he went to explain that the cut I wanted was a vertebrate (duhhhhh) at the end I just dropped the conversation and left my husband deal with his miserable attitude. If it wasn’t because my husband wanted to try this store, I wouldn’t have just left without purchasing anything and going to a different store. Nice cuts and fine spices/oils but the costumer service was so poor I’m never coming back.

Love the concept and their goods, but wish they had free delivery and a better website because it’s a bit confusing. I am a website developer, so if you need improvements contact me!

Went into the store and asked for some steak recommendations. Bob helped me out with all of my questions ended up leaving with 2 perfect Steaks! Definitely recommend everyone to shop here! Very friendly staff

Really good quality here, been quite a few times these past 3 month and I have been nothing but satisfied every time.

Went to grab some rib eyes. They are very good. At first, I thought the pricing will be very expensive but I was wrong. The pricing in the store was very competitive or cheaper. I thought they would be more expensive than Safeway, but they were not. Much better meat quality. Will definitely go back for sure. Also nice helpful staff.

However that's just 1 reason to go here. The atmosphere is fresh and appealing, clean place to shop for good looking product.

I happen to think that a meal that includes either a ribeye or prime rib roast is unbeatable! I have gotten to know the Operations Manager of Urban Butcher by ordering directly from him and taking the time to explain what it is that I am looking for. I must say that Bob has done a simply amazing job of delivering one the best products that I have had the good fortune and pleasure of both enjoying and sharing with friends and family. Thank you Bob for the special effort that you have always provided for me to ensure top quality beef each and every time!

Grabbed great steaks and some stuffed potatoes. Helpful service and decent prices, plus a great selection. Can't wait to go back!

First time here was last week. I have to admit I was a little overwhelmed at first. I usually just shop in the meat section at Safeway. Well never again. Sure you may pay a bit more here than at a grocer but the quality is worth it. I can't wait to go back and get more familiar with the store. Cheers!
