An interesting selection of deli items, there are some fantastic smells coming from the place. Everything is priced to match the vibe inside… maybe except for the pies which became my choice of fuel. Wolfed that down so no complains but I wouldn’t be trying to sell it to you.

Been coming here for years. Great selection of sausage and love all their different meat pies. Also their chicken and apple stuffed brie is my weakness. My favourite place to grab a sandwich before heading out on the trails.

I love Valbella. Sausages, fresh deli, European specialties. Always something new. Great staff. A must stop.

Hate mongering owner, a Jeff von Rotz. Unfortunate as their food was good. Won't be visiting until Jeff is off the payroll.
9 months later - much effort to rehabilitate their reputation. People are free to choose, but despite the great food I can't forget the vulgar, spiteful hate filled words from one of the owners, Jeff. As a parent of a queer teen, I I just can't support this business yet. Maybe one day?

LOVE this place! Been coming for years now. Amazing staff, and don't even get me started on the entire product list they have. Almost everything is created on site and the local produce and Condiments are worth every cent spent here. I recommend this gem to all who will appreciate it.

I quite like the ready-made meals here and I enjoy their 1978 pricing specials. My only complaint is that I really wish they would tone down the clove in, for example, the cabbage rolls and the paprika goulash. Seriously guys. Too much clove. Tone it down a bit. If you did this it would go from "I quite like it" to "I really love it". Clove is extremely strong and overpowering. Please consider trying to use a bit less.

I have not let the action of one individual ruin my positive experiences with Valbella Gourment Foods (I hope you will all do the same).
I regularly have their Chicken Apple and Brie, Lamb, Chimney Sticks, Bacon, and assorted meats.
I've also enjoyed their lunch sandwiches and food truck. I also enjoy that they have Pie Junkie as well.
I would highly recommend!

Valbella has a wonderful assortment of local products. Keep up the support of local farmers & businesses that care about delivering high quality products!

Their in-house meats & other offerings are awesome and love seeing more grass fed beef & bison options (bones, tallow etc).

Wish they had eggs and chicken that were pasture raised (no grains) but perhaps in the future…

The service is also usually really good and fast.

Lucky to have a quality deli in the area.
We had lunch there, my wife had the Tortiere and I had seafood chowder and it was excellent.
So good that we purchased a number of deli items that are top notch and the prices are very reasonable.
We will be back on a regular basis.

Valbella's makes my favorite pepperoni sticks. They are non typical in that they are never greasy and dripping grease. Flavor is excellent as it is on any of their stuff and prices are reasonable too.
Service was excellent and friendly too.

Went through with my husband and felt shunned by the girls working there. They were fine talking with him. Finally one worker gave a weird binocular look at me (fingers curled up to eyes). It was so weird I decided to read others reviews. I'm a tall slender woman who has a history of being mistaken for a man. And then these comments said it all I walked into a store that is biased in their opinion of people who's gender runs a grey zone

Hands down the best deli in Alberta! The products are always so fresh & interesting. Great for shopping and also a really relaxed friendly atmosphere for lunch.

My partner and I came across this hidden gem before we went to the Cave Tour. The sandwiches are sooo good and service was a great we went back 3 more times. We loved the selection of quality meats offered in the stand up coolers. If you love meat, you'll love Valbella.

Wow. What a treasure in Canmore! Delicious products and all sourced from Alberta producers. Their sausage and meats - produced on site are nothing short of spectacular and they even have vegetarian and non pork options. The smoked Turkey sandwich and sweet potato soup that I had for lunch were amazing - fresh, with exactly the right spices and condiments. Also - the staff members were knowledgeable and eager to help. Great service. I’ll definitely be back! Don’t miss this place on your stop in Canmore!

The food that's been BASED is the best. Was here last summer. Great time. Friendly folk. Ill make sure to swing by again on my next trip to Canmore.

If the holocaust is something is so absolutely historically true, why is any criticism of it lands you in jail in 18+ countries? Oh and the sandwiches here were simply amazing. A little pricey, but my total meal was worth $14.88

Excellent selection of euro style sausages and deli, with imports of European pantry staples.
The cervelas (we deep fry them) are delicious.

I've been purchasing Valbella meats from Sunterra locations in Calgary for a few years and have fallen in love with their deli meats and especially their bacon and smoked pork chops. The location in Canmore was a carnivorous delight and one that has a steady customer whenever I pass through. I highly suggest the Smoked Pork Chops and the Mergeuz sausage.

This store has some very delicious things. It's not bad considering how small the town of Canmore is compared to a larger centre and the availability of game meat is appropriate. We love the smoked bison. My only complaint is that I rarely find the packaged charcuterie platters available in the fridge section, but I don't live in Canmore so perhaps it's my timing on the weekend. The sandwiches are delicious, the baked goods average, but the meat is where it's at. Not cheap though.

Such a little gem. They have amazing products and great customer service. This is a must stop location when we are in town. They have everything you need for a fabulous meat and cheese tray!

These guys are everywhere. I see them in Calgary and in shops all around. I would call them a "specialty food store" because they really sell things you don't find anywhere else in town. The key with them is quality. Nothing is subpar here. Well done

I'm a new Valbella customer, but I must say the bison and wild rice pie is amazing! It was nice and juicy, great seasoning, flaky crust, with whole cranberries tucked inside. We opted for the shipment to Calgary rather than picking up in store. Everything we ordered was packed nicely and delivered on time. I can't wait to try the tourtiere, bison burgers and Mennonite sausage that was also part of our order. I have a feeling it will not disappoint!

Best jerky around, its actually thin and dry with noticeable meat fibres like it should be. The venison landjaeger is the best ive ever had.

Absolutely amazing experience from the smiles at the front door right down to the quality of the meats! One of my favourite's is the Carnivore Kit, coming with a variety of different meats and ready to eat meals. Great way to stock up for the week! They even offer free delivery in town!

First discovered this wonderful place after having a Charcuterie tray of their products at the Maple Leaf in Banff. Exceptional quality food, super friendly service, and has become a regular stop on our way home from Banff every trip!

This place always puts a smile on my face. It's the perfect deli. Everything you need to make an amazing meal and a fantastic lunch counter to boot. I love it.

A canmore institution! Valbella has high quality German/Swiss style meats. I pop in on occasion for lunch. Pre pandemic, Walter, the founder, usually held court right by the door. It's that kind of place. They do lots of business with restaurants in and out of the valley, which speaks to their quality. Try the schnitzel sandwich!

Excellent cured meats and sausages. Best in the valley. All the best eateries and hotels in the area buy their product here too.

This place has fantastic high quality food and service. If you happen to be in the area I highly recommend it, if you live here I am a little bit jealous.

Even since moving from Canmore make a point to stop in when we are in town. Great deli for a tasty lunch and the butcher shop is amazing, so many great meats and frozen options here, as well a selection of game options, Elk burgers, venison pie, game landjaeger are unreal. Great steaks, chops and other fresh options. Some things are kinda overpriced but you do get quality for the money, most prices are great for what you get.

Wonderful food quality. But, I am wondering if I can do online shopping instead of walking in with my Valbella gift card.

Fine products; pity it cannot be more up to standards. For example, the Venison and Wild Boar Paté, albeit the big letters on the packaging, is mostly pork. Turkey and Ham cold cuts are oversalted; sausages are artisan, hats down, but can be salty as well. Never on sale:) Products mentioned are bought at Scarpone's and Sunterra.

Great place! It’s got a deli on one side and a small little cafe on the other. Staff is super friendly (owner even came around and talked with us) and the food absolutely delicious. The sit-in eating area is a little small, but it still makes for the perfect place to duck in for a bite to eat. Will definitely come back here on next trip to Canmore.

This place is absolutely outstanding. Prices are amazing and quality of food is far superior then anywhere around Canmore or Calgary.

Has the most amazing Bacon and deli meats, stop in for lunch as they have a large selection of hot and cold foods.
