Love Value Village and thrift shopping in general. This place has a pretty quick turnover of merchandise so there are always new little treasures to find. The store is well organized, clean and tidy, as well as always having plenty of staff on the floor who are always keeping busy and productive.
**update** haven't been to this location in several months due to moving but stopped in the other day and found a few great items. The store was very tidy, looks like they reorganized a bit. Still 5 stars
This is typically my business of choice when I am looking to donate my items. I typically encounter no issues when donating and the staff are generally helpful or at least friendly. I am however writing this review now to express my extreme disappointment with an employee who made my last donation experience very negative. I arrived at the donation center at 8: 45pm and expected I could drop off my items as the hours for drop off are listed until 9pm. The staff member working at the time made me feel terrible for coming 15 minutes prior to closing, which I feel is a reasonable amount of time to drop something in a bin and roll it inside. He almost refused to take my items, but when he did relent and say I could unload them, he said I needed to make sure I came earlier and that it was too late for me to drop things off. He was surly, rude and made me feel like a criminal for doing something I was more than in my right to do. It has dissuaded me from wanting to donate to this location now.
My experience with this location has always been positive. The items donated generally seem to be of a higher quality than other stores. I do wish that there was a fitting room though.
During my time at Value Village, I was truly impressed by the level of customer service provided, especially at the self checkout. Tyler, who was attending the self checkout area, he went above and beyond. Not only did he offer assistance and ask about our day, but he also took the initiative to take the hangers off our clothes and hung them up for us.
This thoughtful gesture made the entire checkout process not only very efficient but also incredibly pleasant. The store was clean, which added to the positive shopping experience. Kudos to the entire Value Village team, will for sure be back in the future!
The staff were very friendly, the store is neat and tidy. The quality and selection is good. I was disappointed in the books section. Books here are 3.99,4.99,5.49 - Nancy Drew's in Hardy boys they are selling came as a box set at Costco at one point for about 20 or $30 and they're selling each book here for $5 individually. Other locations charge $1.49 a book for the kids /teen novels. So if you have a bookworm, or do homeschooling and need novels for the year beware of the pricing.
First of all they do have a couple of nice workers at this location. As others have stated the pricing is getting too expensive. They are pricing themselves out. However, for myself, the biggest issue is the constant mistakes at the cashiers. Always check your receipts as they often do not apply coupons correctly. If only they had someone experienced & capable of dealing with discounts properly.
This store is literally impossible to navigate due to the high volume of privileged, predominately white uni alumni who love to take up space and have disregard for anyone else but themselves. I left empty-handed which is rare, feeling slightly annoyed and vowing never to return to this location. Not to mention their dresses are $18 and very dated.
Good selection not crowed good flow through store no chaos.need faster cashier so keep the lines down and so many pages on phone between customers but overall no complaints signs visible on windows as well.
My favourite Value Village in the city! It is always clean and well organized, especially the book and CD section. Staff here are always friendly and chatty at the checkout! I have found many of my best thrifts at this location.
The prices are getting a little high compared to when they first opened up some things are way overpriced where others aren't but it is a second hand store afterall
The staff are very helpful and you can get some really good finds at awesome prices, but it can be a little busy in there. It's best to plan when you go there (unpopular times) to avoid it being crowded.
Everything other than clothing seem to be final sale now. There may be a line on weekends or busy times. Be careful of stains / cracks etc before you purchase! They sell many things as is so you don't know if electronics or batter operated toys or lamps etc work. Bring your own bags as they charge for bags.
The selection is low, damaged or unwearable. Such and personalized items or old uniforms, faded, worn out, already has holes or parts missing. The prices are extremely high and in some cases, more expensive than at the original store it came from. Such a an item that had a dollarama sticker on it and was priced at $7.99.
This is a good thrift store in a good location but I wasn't overwhelmed by the selection this time around. Of course that always changes. Thrift stores are partly a product of the community they're in and the people who frequent them so I suspect this is a great location but you have to visit regularly.
Store has a good selection and decent prices on most items and I usually have a pleasant time while being there. However today I encountered a very rude employee, she repeatedly got too close to me in the isles, and didn't say excuse me or anything. By the time I went to checkout she was on till and was just very rude and short with me. Asked how she was "fine", said I liked her necklace "ya, got it from here" - she did not say hello to me, inquire about my day (the typical "and how are you? "). Nothing is more annoying than being polite to someone and then they're just rude to you. I would suggest that she shouldn't be on till if she can't be nice to people. Did not catch her name but I have clerk # 002020.
Staff is awesome great deals. Although I do find somethings over priced. Especially when you can by the exact same thing brand new at Walmart or Dollarama!
The store has very cool items and you have to search to find something worth while but it is managed very poorly is over priced for the majority of items and is not clean. Worth a shop through but not highly recommended due to the short falls.
VV is always a blast to check out. In this case we were shopping for Halloween costumes. You should check out their amazing selection. There's usually something you'll love and fyi: they carry new as well as used items. Happy shopping!
Prices are ridiculously high, very unfair when its donated. Should be priced to the economical mess we are in, unfortunately the owners are filthy rich so it doesnt matter to them
I dont like that there is no change rooms, I understand why but when I buy it and take it home and it does not fit I should get a refund not an exchange!
Not much to say, they have a nice record collection and they seamed to keep it pretty clean. I'd say definately worth the trip if your looking for a thrift store.
Prices can be really high, which I don't mind if the item is great quality - but most have damage here. Because of this, stock gets stale at this location.
If you are into clothes recycling, this is the best Value Village location in the city. The place is clean, the staff are ok. It doesn't smell stuffy and if you come during the sale days, the savings are awesome. I am still not sure if they really use the money generated for nonprofit but for what they do, this location is tops
Clean and lots of variety. Overpriced for some things (well worn shoes too pricey, some jeans that aren't boutique but priced as such) but worth the time to hunt. Go early if you want to avoid change room line ups.
