This place is great. Just like how items here are sourced by donation (to a for profit corporation!), the pricetags here are just suggestions. There's no floor walkers stalking you, unlike the thrift stores of the Chinook/Southside Calgary area. So, enjoy your boosting kids! By far easiest store to scam in the neighborhood.
A vast variety of clothes for the entire family. I like to donate to here as well. Here is especially good for finding Halloween costumes and festive Christmas sweaters and other holiday household items. Looking for items here is always like a treasure hunt and you always get something, cool, unique and useful. It may be a trendy leather or fur jacket or a one of a kind antique Rolex watch, you never know! Also join their points system to get discounts!
With the rise of interest rate and high inflation, people turns to second hand stores. But why the Trudeau government charges GST on used stuffs (already paid GST when they are new) ? Double taxed! Remember every Tuesday Senior day discount.
I’m not crazy about the prices they offer, but you can find some deals if you look. I get that they have overhead, but there get donations, I think the prices should show that a bit more. In my opinion.
Halloween selection was quite small compared to previous years not organized at all was very disappointed as we generally but costumes every year from there
Over pricey still, adds up quick. 1 thing i didn't like was a t.v i wanted to buy didn't have the cord to plug it in.i asked if they could help me find it figuring they had a system numbered so u could find it.and they basically told me go look for it myself.only gave it a three star because the stuff is cool was gonna do two
Clothing prices are the highest I’ve ever seen for SECOND HAND/USED clothes. I was Shocked the other day when I went in there saw a leather jacket for $175. I’ve never seen an item in a thrift store that expensive before. The prices on everything are getting to the point where you almost want to buy brand new.
They charge way too much growing up this place was known as a place for people who didn't have much $ a spot for families to go get somewhat of a deal to go purchase clothing and other stuff now a days it's a joke of how much they charge people it's kinda ridiculous it's not community focused
Selection is good but prices are crazy. They get all this stuff for free and charge customers $9 for a tshirt and $6 for a book. Adds up fast and is inaccessible for people with little money.
Had to buy a dress - no more change rooms and no more refunds. Gready ungrateful company. This old outdated dress was 20.00 not worth. 5 cents. Rags is all that have for women. They get donation and we turn around and pay higher then normal prices. Walmart or superstore clothing is cheaper. Shame shame on you Rip off Village.
Value Village is on drugs if they think these prices for donated items is acceptable. Selection is the only plus. I wanted to buy a book and according to the set prices it should have been $2.99 but because it said on the book it was worth $14 at some point the cashier told me it's actually 5.99$ and that they have to charge $5.99 minimum when it says that. No book that's donated for free should cost more than $3
I felt very angry as I believe they suspected me of doing something wrong. I am not happy. I frequent your store often but am thinking of going elsewhere if I am going to be treated this way.
Change rooms closed permanently! Are you kidding me? ! This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! I won't be buying any jeans/ pants / if I can't try them on first. Whoever made this decision is brain dead
Donated a purse with credit cards inside.didn't know. Discovered they were missing.went to VV and the manager found my purse and was sooo helpful and pleasant. Don't know her name but she had yellow hair. Lovely lady and except service!
This place is pretty good, has a large selection of male and female clothing, plenty of books and kitchen stuff to look at. The staff is pretty nice too. Although the one thing i have a problem is with the prices. Some of the prices are way too high and its unjustified, especially the shoes, most of the shoes are really well worn and dirty and i saw prices like $25 for them. For a place that gets everything by donation, this is just way too much. So i would not recommend getting shoes here.
Be careful, receipts show fuzzy math especially the 20% discount is not always applied and when it is they short it. Also lots of fake brand names sold. Overpriced fakes sold as real.
BE CAREFUL SHOPPING HERE! If I could give this company 0 stars I would!
First off you can't try anything on. They let you take it home for 14 days where you're likely to get more germs on it then you would if you tried it on in store! (and yes it was because of covid, but they're not bringing the change rooms back)
Second if you do decide to take your chances and try the clothes on at home, they better fit because Value Village will NOT REFUND you! Exchange ONLY policy which is insane especially when you can't try on the clothes in store!
I will never give them another penny of my hard earned money. I would rather pay full price for something brand new and have the option to get a refund! Very disappointed with their policies and they definitely over price a lot of items that they get for free!
Well thanks to covid there's now no change rooms to try clothes on. You have to buy them, take them home to try on and than go back for an exchange only. No refunds or store credit. And before the 14 days is up after buying them.
Great variety in clothes. Usually crowded with people but they put a capacity because of COVID so alot better now. Also If you look carefully you can always find a good book.
It always feels dirty here and the prices are ridiculous. You can still find the occasional treasure but there are so many better thrift options so save your time and money.
It has a large selection of different things. From household items, bedding, accessories, materials and clothing. Awesome! For those who like bargain shopping!
I can't stand this place but i still shop here because once in a while you can find something for a good price but for the most part they charge way too much for items that the store gets donated. And the way they have people watching every single person in the store like they are going to steal their used stuff and book it. Very annoying!
