Needed a new vet since we moved here from BC for our senior cat.our vet was so friendly and kind answered all our questions and gave us a lot of info on what to be looking for with our cat going forward.very happy here!

Just over a year ago we moved back to Calgary after a long absence with our then 17 year old dog. Over the space of the last year as our sweet little senior dog Penny aged even more, Dalhousie clinic gave us great care and wonderful support for Penny’s senior needs. Sadly we lost her on July 2. It was quick and peaceful. Today we received a lovely card from Dalhousie in which all the staff made beautiful comments about our beloved Penny. While we wept as we read it, we are so appreciative of the love and kindness. They only knew us and Penny for a year, which made this kindness even more special. Thank you to everyone at Dalhousie for your wonderful care of Penny to help her be comfortable and enjoy her final year. We miss her terribly. Thank you Vets, Vet Techs and staff for all you do Contrary to what some people think, they are NOT in it for the money, they care for every animal with compassion and kindness, and we are so grateful.

Excellent care for my two year old dog. Dr. Montgomery is awesomely competent and thorough.

I'm not really a fan of these big chains.but I just take my pet to Dalhousie Varsity because of Dr. Amy. She is very clear with explaining the pet's issue. She is pet driven and always gives me the best options, taking the best interest of my pet. I wouldn't trust anyone else the health of my pets. Totally recommend Dr. Amy.

We have been bringing our cats here for about 3 years. I highly recommend Dr. Brooke, they are so knowledgeable and very friendly. Dr. Brooke even set up a demo for us with another cat so we could learn how to use a mask for asthma on our cat!:)

Dr. Madison Montgomery is an amazing veterinarian. She is kind, compassionate and when our dog was dealing with illness in the final months of his life she was always willing to move things around or stay late to see him for emergency appointments. I wish we had switched vets earlier, but I am glad we switched so he had great care for the last few months we had with him.

The compassion Dr. Madison and her staff displayed for our dog and our family when we had to put him down was very appreciated.

She is still our vet for our other dog and she has been just as compassionate and understanding with his concerns. We live 30 minutes away and will gladly keep making the drive for the care VCA Dalhousie and Dr. Montgomery provide.

Thanks again for all your kindness in that very tough time in our lives.

Simply amazing! Dr. Amy Waterhouse and her team are absolutely wonderful. I cannot appreciate enough how they treat my cat and I.

Dr Amy and the crew helped my Bulldog in more ways then one. I was terrified he wasn’t going to bounce back after a surgery he had at another facility.

Was sold outdated meds AGAIN.seems to happen 9 times out of 10. Was told to bring in the portion that will be outdated by the time they're supposed to be administered and I can have a replacement for returned items when they get some that won't be outdated. This will be in over a years time. Since they have trouble remembering what was said or prescribed just 3 months ago, I want my money back and an actual prescription for the items needed. I was told that they can't do that either, by the receptionist, Justina, who wanted me to believe that their pharmacy was at fault THIS time and I should speak to them. I didn't purchase the prescription from their pharmacy, I purchased from them. I wanted to speak with the doctor and was first told that she just walked into the examination room.then it was into surgery, and couldn't be disturbed. Fine! After trying to pin down a time that she could get back to me, Justina hung up on me.

Be aware! Always check expiry dates on prescribed medications purchased from this office, preferably before you leave their office or you may be required to jump through their hoops like me. After a confusing message was left on my phone just a week ago, the doctor said she was very embarrassed over what was given to me on a previous visit that had been mislabeled by their office (a bottle of liquid meds that had tablet instructions) and told me to throw it out as it was probably expired and wasn't sure what it was anyway. Doctor does seem to be genuinely concerned about pets, though.

I only buy my pets food here but the staff are lovely. I'm sure the vets are as well but I can't comment on the quality of care provided here.

What an incredible experience! We see Dr. Sarah Ondrich, and she is amazing on both a professional and personal level. You can really tell she wants what is best for your animal, and her knowledge regarding her practice is a testament to that. Can't recommend her enough! If you're looking for a vet/clinic this is the place to go.

Dr. Lana is really good. Very professional and friendly.
One of the other employees have me medication for my cat but forgot to inform me about when to give it.

Been going there for 10 years (since they were in Varsity) consistent, helpful, reliable won't go anywhere else. I recommend Dr. Burard and Dr. Waterhouse highly for every care decision for your dog.

We work with Dr. Madison for our lil kitty and she has been so lovely and informative every time we meet! Their Covid-19 regulations have made the contactless appointments flawless and simple to follow.

They take the time and listen to you about your pet, email and phone you to update any news they have. Great doctors

My cat goes here. Very nice and practical Veterinary staff. Care has always been good. Only frustration is that they don't always have the food my cat needs in stock, and it's usually better to call ahead so they can order it.

I would like to thank your team and Dr. Sarah. Today was a hard day for us with having to put down our Baby. You all were really sweet and kind to us. Thank you for the compassion you show myself and my sweet cat.

A month and a bit ago our little 5 month old kitten Frankenstein decided to munch on some foam and it completely obstructed his bowel and he required emergency laparotomy surgery. I was absolutely devastated and worried for my little boy. From the very beginning me and my family were treated with respect, empathy and honesty about the situation. Dr. Amy Waterhouse is my hero! She is so wonderful and thorough and because of her and Dr. Sarah, Frankenstein gets to see his first Christmas. Not only were treated so amazingly but we were also given an additional complimentary exam and hydration following the surgery plus specialized food to ease his transition back to solid food. I’m so amazed by the staff at this vet clinic! They are all so perfect and sweet.
If you want your darling pets to be treated like gold take them here! You won’t regret it!

Friendly folks and good animal doctors. Pricey to boot but if you want qualified care you have to be prepared to pay for it.

I recently took my 14 year old min schnoodle to see Dr Swain. My dog needed a prescription for regular pain meds to take the edge off her arthritis aches.

I was very impressed with Dr Swain for her thoroughness and practicality concerning treatment / care for my senior dog. Dr Swain obviously loves what she does, and the animals in her care. Verrryy impressed.

Long time community Vet, they are very good with our 2 cats & dog. Very efficient and friendly. Book well in advance as they are very busy

Dr. Montgomery is so amazing with our two dogs. She explains everything in detail and always provides us options for whatever the treatment is. She never guilts is into unnecessary spending and always works with our budget. We love the central community feel and they always are so friendly. Love coming here

Wow! I was completely blown away by our experience today! Let’s start with the initial experience before meeting the vet. First we were brought into the room by a lovely, sweet lady (wish I knew her name) who not only gave us a blanket to sit on but brought a colouring book and stickers for a my son to help keep him preoccupied. She was incredibly sweet to my little girl Persephone with her sore leg and immediately just relaxed our anxious nerves.
Next, we meet Dr. Amy Waterhouse! I have no words to accurately describe what a splendid person she is. She was absolutely amazing, lovely, honest and very caring of my little girl. She even brought her exam over to Persephone to ease her stress and I could tell Persephone felt at ease cause Dr. Waterhouse left us all feeling calm and well looked after. She never tried to “sell” me anything but offered suggestions and also answered my MILLION questions without hesitation or frustration. We were there for an hour as she got to know Persephone and us as well.
She even started to cry when I started crying talking about our cat that died a few months ago.
I am so relieved I finally found the Veterinarian I trust my fur babies with!

I have been bringing my beautiful German Shepherd to this facility since he was 8 weeks old and he is going to be 10 years old this year. I can say that my boy has been in the best hands! I trust this team.even though the turn over with staff has been difficult. I trust them. I feel they always go that extra mile for Sandor. If they do not have answers, they refer me or seek another expert opinion. I love Dr. Madison Montgomery. She knows her stuff.but what means the most.she treats Sandor like he is my family and it is so apparent she understands the bond. I trust her with his life. Thank you to all of you!

Always late with appointments, 15 to 30 mins. Does not seem to do a good job, does a 50% job, but charges 100%. Seems like the vet is afraid of dogs.

We have been going to VCA Dalhousie for more then 10 years. They have been the best to work with. Our pet has been treated well every time we have taken her there. She is know 11 years old and they are continuing to provide excellent care to our pet.

Several years ago I lost an 8 month kitten at this vets. He had an untreatable 100% fatal disease and I was dealt with in such a kind manner. My surviving cat recently got very sick and we took him to see Dr Swain. It turned out he needed surgery and soon. Having just had a baby and being on EI this was a big financial hit that we would struggle to afford. She spent what felt like an hour on the phone explaining our options. She offered to do the surgery at a discount as she had never done it before but that there would be vets available that had done it if she had any questions. This was the only way we could afford to do it. We went ahead and I was called to be told he was doing well as soon as they were done. She called a day later to check on him. We have since discovered this is likely a chronic problem and he will need to be watched and treated for the rest of his life. However, whenever I have a question or concern I can just call the clinic and she calls back in an hour. The nurse Colleen was also lovely and answered all our questions when we collected him.

Took in puppy for health check with Dr Amy. She was thorough, gregarious and kind. Excellent with the dog.

I got a quote for $500 for a basic cat spay, this place is a rip-off. Called different places and booked for less then half that price.

Our dog had surgery here, which went reasonably well, albeit insanely expensive and they forgot to tell us when to pick him up. Follow up was ridiculously poor and we lost confidence. We ultimately had to take him somewhere else to have his stitches removed. Front end staff have a lot to learn about following up with patients.

We have taken many injured wild animals to this clinic and even our parrot one time. I can’t say I was impressed with the treatment of our parrot as it was a lot of money for them to keep her under observation and offer no real treatment. The only reason why we left her there was because we were going on vacation and couldn’t be sure she would be ok with the person caring for her in our absence if something went wrong. Ultimately, nothing happened and it was just a lot of stress and money for nothing. I wouldn’t say they did a bad job, but a hotel is cheaper.

My dog had a wellness visit a few days ago with Dr. Madison Montgomery. I had taken my pet to the Dalhousie clinic (prior to the merger with Varsity) for the past seven years and always had a good experience. However, my/my pet's interaction with Dr. Montgomery was at a whole other level. Dr. Montgomery spent more time with me than all of my other vet appointments over the years combined. She was very sweet with my dog (who can be a little ornery), and she gave a very thorough exam. She gave me some suggestions for discipline, hip/joint care (my dog is 10 years old) and dental hygiene. Thank you for a great experience!
