VCA Canada Forest Lawn Animal Hospital

I enjoy this clinic and it's very convenient. We have been going here for years and the front desk staff are always cheerful and helpful so we will continue to bring our Kittys in. However, a diagnosis of food allergy (chicken?) and many blood tests later - cause of kitty vomiting - was found to be wrong. After feeding expensive hypoallergenic food I watched him vomit it up! I had a hunch this might be gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach from possibly eating spoiled food? I did research on the internet, gave his stomach a rest and started him on small feedings of wet food. Eventually he was able to accept small feedings of dry food as well (any kind - chicken included) without vomiting it up. He has remained consistently normal and we are watching that he doesn't get into food left lying around. Had to figure it out ourselves and gaining confidence in our ability to care for Kittys medical concerns on our own. Several months later I brought my kitty in suspecting that he had been bitten in a cat fight, just as my other cat had been. He was examined and declared to be fine. He was not fine. I took home a very upset kitty in pain who had been refused pain killers because there had been no evidence of a bite. I took a video of him growling in pain and sent it in only to be told it was territorial vocals? However, like my other cat, an abscess eventually formed and I had to take him back in for a shot of antibiotic. I felt sorry for my kitty who had to suffer in pain again because of another misdiagnosis!

I had such a caring experience here yesterday. Very clean and welcoming clinic. Instantly felt taken care of and it was nice to see our cat be so calm during the appointment. Our vet was outstanding and you can tell everyone there is passionate for what they do. I look forward to coming back for future appointments. Our vet also made effort to ensure our other cat at home had treatment to prevent any cross over. He also focused on making sure we had the best deal on necessary vaccines and great knowledge on what procedures needed to happen or what can wait. I appreciated everything.

I found a very pregnant cat. She didn't belong to any of my neighbors. They were so good to take her in so that the babies would not be born outside.

I love this place! They are so kind and helpful! Being on a low budget they went above and beyond to insure my fur babie's health and happiness and comfort. I would recomend this hospital to any pet owner; I know and meet! She is so much happier and stress free! Thank you so much guys!

The staff here are absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Robyn Gallacher and Dr. James Vandergraaf, took the time to help my cat Rocky, who was incredibly ill. Our family cares for him as though he is our sibling, and he also suffers from epilepsy. Recently, he became sick and his primary vet was unavailable to book, so they recommend we come here. I know of several of the staff here, Brandi, Shawna, and many of the others staff members were patient with my many questions. Understanding of my situation (financial and emotional) and took the time to discuss every avenue possible. They explained how much things would cost and always asked if I wanted to proceed. Even recommended milder solutions before heading with the heavier ones. Three weeks later, rocky is back outside with his leash, happy, healthy, and lovey all over again. I could not trust another team in the hands of my baby boy.

Poor communication between staff when I called for information, they told me one thing and when I arrived, they told me completely different information. They also refused to assist an injured and pregnant cat because of the type of carrier it was brought in. I have worked as a cruelty investigations officer for over 10 years, and somehow still find myself surprised by the callousness of people who’s interests are supposed to be in the animals welfare.

Always been the best place to go. They have been looking after my dogs for over 20 years. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

Our little pom had some issues that we needed attention and James was extremely polite and caring considering the circumstances that we had left there empty handed: (James and the team there were very nice to work with in our short amout if time there and we left feeling better about what had to happen and they were consoling to us. We have two more poms and a great dane pup, and we will forever go to James there now that we couldn't get into our regular vet. Thank you James for everything you did and said to us, you helped turn a train wreck of a morning into a bearable day.

The dog food is ridiculously over priced. It is about $20 more there for a case of wet food then other vet clinics.

Friendly staff that got what we needed.
Haven't taken pets there as I've only gone their for resupply on the Hillsbrand food.
The staff there were quick to answer Andy questions I had though about availability and how to proceed with Covid protocols.

Took my new puppy here for first shots. Veterinarian was informative, kind and professional. Clinic is clean, front office staff very friendly. From my initial call to our appointment, we are very pleased with our first visit.

I don't use their Clinic other than ordering the special catfood! Both Leo and Tikki are on special diets and they usually have plenty of Science Diet Z/D and Royal Canin Urinary ISO on hand. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff too.

Look around, anywhere else is better
The vet decided that they would receive a greater financial benefit by euthanizing a loved family pet rather than continue prescribing a life sustaining medication. Their position was “either you let me kill your pet or he will die because we won’t continue his medication”. COLD, HARSH and HEARTLESS

The best vets ever the helped my cat George with his tail and again with his upset stomach. They care for animals and truly appreciate them keeping comfortable through the visit

My cats have been seeing Dr. Gallacher for years. She is absolutely a wonderful veterinarian. She really cares for her patients and will go extra miles to help. Everyone in the hospital is super friendly and professional. If you call or email in questions, they're pretty quick to connect back. They also will make follow up calls to check up on your pets afterwards. They all show care for the animals they treat. This is a wonderful team. The place is always kept clean and area is spacious so if you need some distance between your pet and other animals, this place can accommodate. Parking is limited but I was able to find a space whenever I visit.

They were very good to my new 8 week old kitten (Mili). She got her first vaccine and deworming done last visit. Thank you for the great service and experience.

Very helpful and we were in need of a special catfood diet that was out of stalk throughout vet locations and mollies. They happened to have a bag returned partially used which very much helped us

Very welcoming and you can tell they care. My dog had a wound on her side (still not sure what from, maybe a bite) and our normal vet wasn't able to get her in. I called and was able to get her into VCA the next day. The vet checked her out, gave great treatment advice and antibiotics. I even got a text message the next day checking in to see how she was doing. I liked the friendly service so much I brought my puppy in for it's shots. Great experience all around.
