Vet ER

This Vet Emergency blew my mind. I walked in and they took my dog to the back and fixed the issue in under 10 minutes and charged me less than half of what I was expecting to pay. Will definitely pick this emergency if I ever need it again. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

The kindest and most caring individuals I have ever dealt with. We were triaged appropriately given our relatively minor issue but never felt forgotten or ignored.

The vet Er staff is friendly nd compassionate. I had to take my dog there. I was stressed they seen that nd talked to me about my choices nd gave me time to think about it. Thank you so much.

Went in with a dog that got into a porcupine. I specifically said the dog had two quills in her paw when I left the house but one went into her paw on the way in. $600+ later and brought her home. She's been limping since she went in and worsening. Now I have to pay another vet bill, probably $600. They would not say whether the vet actually removed the quill I mentioned to them that was in her paw, only that they do a thorough inspection so obviously they didn't remove it when I told them it was there. Will not use this clinic a
gain. On a good note, very friendly staff.

Brought our daughter’s Corgi in after he accidentally ingested a few pieces of his chuckit ball and was showing signs of a possible obstruction. Staff was incredible from the first phone call with reception to triage with the sweetest vet tech and the most awesome Dr. Joel. They all treated the little guy with tenderness, compassion and respect and took great care to make him as comfortable and relaxed as possible while doing their best to thoroughly examine and diagnose him and keep us fully informed. They gave us their best recommendations and treatment options, answered all our questions and offered follow up care if at any time we had further concerns or questions. We never felt rushed or pressured and because of this we were able to make difficult decisions with confidence. The professionalism of everyone in the clinic was second to none and it’s clearly evident that everyone who works at Vet ER is truly passionate about providing the best possible care for all the four-leggeds AND their humans. Cannot recommend this wonderful place enough.

Vet ER saved my puppies life. He was limp and barely breathing due to a freak accident when we brought him in and he was taken straight to the back and immediately worked on. The team here was professional, caring, and fast working. They weren’t judgemental towards my hysterical state lol. Not once did we feel pressured. Thanks to them Kevin not only lived but was home in less than 24 hours, i am extremely grateful for Vet ER.

The very sort tale offrumpkin: the vet ER saved my boy kitty from a blockage and were extremely understanding and compassionate which is nice since I had bad experiences at vets. I hope they see this update as I know a lot of times they don’t but Dino kitty is a big happy boy at home now showing no complications. Purring and Making so many kitty biscuits he could run a bake sale and pay off his vet bill if they were real lol

My cat passed away within hours of being relased medically from this clinic. I brought my cat in on Monday evening in respiratory distress. They kept him overnight and cleared him to come home Tuesday morning. After bringing him home he was still showing difficulty breathing so I returned to the clinic within an hour. After keeping him for several hours on observarion the vet informed me there was "no medical reason " he needed to stay and that his panting and drooling were from the meds and stress. I asked her if he would die if he came home and she said no. Within 4 hours of coming home he was dead. I know vets can't predict all difficulties but we are absolutely devastated that we trusted their advice and now he is dead, hours after being medically cleared twice from this clinic.

Took my senior cat to Vet ER to have him looked at today. The front end staff was super friendly, and Dr. Cole and the RVT we saw were fantastic. Everyone was so helpful, accommodating, pleasant to deal with, and my feline friend is on the road to recovery. So thankful we have an emergency vet clinic in West Edmonton now, and after my visit today I would 100% recommend them!

Unfortunately, our visit to this clinic was not the best experience for my family. Be prepared to pay triple the price from already initially expensive vet services, just because they called their services “emergency”. However, if there was really an emergency our dog would not have had a chance to survive (the shift change has lasted two hours). The receptionist was hiding and not willing to talk. We paid more than $300 just for a urine sample and quick assessment. Just a few months ago we paid less then $300 for the whole surgery to neuter our dog at Animal hospital.
Yes office is clean and modern but there is no place for compassion in this clinic.

Our dog just spent the last few days here and needed emergency surgery. Everyone was incredibly kind and thorough. We recieved frequent updates from the vets on how our dog was doing. We never once felt pressured to agree to unnecessary tests or procedures. They even took our dog for a walk when he was feeling well enough post op. Very thankful for the amazing team here. Hope we will never be back, but in the event of emergency Vet ER will definitely be our first choice.

Brought in our 10yr old cat for a limp/lethargy/food disinterest. Less than 2 hours from when we arrived to when we were discharged with a treatment plan and meds, all for a very reasonable price. Would definitely use their services again.

Wonderful staff and owners, easy to deal with and far better with my dogs than previous places ive been in the area.

Dr. Abbott was so extremely professional and lovely. Everyone we interacted with were kind and courteous. They even went out of their way to keep our dog away from others when moving around the building. I truly can’t wrap my head around any of the bad reviews. They are one of the best staffed vets I’ve ever been to.

The most amazing vet I’ve ever been to. No where else would see our dog because we were not a client. We just moved to the area and didn’t have a vet yet. My dog was having an extreme allergic reaction. She doesn’t do very well with strangers and they were very patient and understanding of her breed (Malinois). Can not say enough good things about this place. Thank you guys very much

Had a terrible time with this vet she kept us waiting for hours when they only had one other animal. Then said my dog would die if I didn't follow her outrageously expensive treatment recommendations. I would give zero stars if I could because of the fear mongering she put us through.

Dr Abbott was awesome with my man Loki, and the front desk and tech staff were great too. From the phone call to checking out, the staff was friendly and took care to answer questions we had. We came in knowing Loki wasn’t an urgent case, but couldn’t wait over the long weekend until our regular vet opened, so we were prepared for a long wait. While the wait was long due to a busy day and other animals taking priority, they still got us in when they could. Thank you for taking care of my boy Dr Abbott and staff, we appreciate your hard work over the long weekend!

This place is wonderful, the staff are cheery and bright even though I’m scared and nervous with my poor injured cat. They quickly and efficiently took care of us as well as a long line of sick and injured other pets that trooped through the doors at 10pm on a Sunday night. The vets and staff deserve high praise for making an oasis of calm and healing in a west end industrial strip mall. I cannot give enough stars to them.

We had a great experience when we had to induce vomiting in our cat after he ate chocolate. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure to keep us updated on our cats condition. The waiting room is spacious, clean, and inviting.

I honestly have to say that Dr. Meghan Clarke and Dr. Dawn Abbott are absolutely amazing practitioners.
I went here when my dog was in excruciating pain, Dr Clarke was honest and compassionate. I needed her honesty after everything that my dog and I had went through.

I unfortunately had to put my dog down at home a week later at home, in her bed. She died peacefully, surrounded by love. I was so thankful for Dr. Clarke's assistance with pain management to keep her comfortable till then.

I recently got a new puppy and she ingested a pee pad, I had to leave work and rush her here to induce vomiting. Dr. Abbott was also just as amazing! I thank her also for her explanation, her treating me with such respect. I can't even explain how thankful I am for these two amazing emergency vets. I hope they continue to help other animals and stick around for a long time. I'm very thankful for this emergency clinic!

I 10/10 recommend! Even the receptionist and the vet techs are so companionate, professional and human! I love how they can connect with the patients owners and treat the animals like their own! Also thank you!

Very helpful when we had to hospitalized our dog after she decided to help herself to her bag of food. Would recommend their services for after-hours care.

We had to take our dog here yesterday to be put down. It was a very emotional and stressful time for us as we had HUNTER for 16.5 years.
The staff was excellent, kind, compassionate. We'd like to thank them so much for their help at this difficult time.

My cat suffered a bad fall in which her back legs became paralyzed and she was shaking in pain. When we took her in, the receptionist told everyone to go home if they weren't having a real emergency. We were quoted 1-3 hour wait time when we first went in and that wait time increased by an hour each time we asked. We waited for 4 hours before finally being told the wait time was now 6-8 hours. They told us the doctors were changing shifts at 6: 30, which is understandable, however an hour later we were told the doctor was now doing other things and could not see us- there was not even an estimated time. Extremely unprofessional and uncaring. If your pet is having an emergency, I do not recommend coming here.

Wish I could give zero stars. Dr. Clarke was so obnoxious and unprofessional. I’ve never received such bad veterinary care in my life.
Not to mention most of the positive reviews are actually their own staff, so how is the public supposed to trust the experiences posted about this clinic.

Food allergies and always seems to back at the clinic. It’s too bad that there can’t be more vet’s out there like Dr. Meghan Clarke. She actually took the time to talk to me about all
The possible scenarios for my dogs swollen foot which I thought was broken. Even at 4am with a ton of other clients in house she didn’t rush at all and really truly made me feel
like she cared.

Very friendly receptionists and triage staff as well. Well done running what seems to be a great practice.

Was sent home from VCA as my pet was “stable” although he was losing all his fluids and a ton of blood - it was vital. Thankfully I visited Vet ER and they recognized the urgency of my dogs situation. The staff were friendly, patient and kind, the whole environment kept my dog at ease. I am new to Edmonton but I will be going here whenever my pet has an emergency!

This place was not really our choice but all other places were full and we ended up here.
Dr Clarke was not very good to us. They wanted to hospitalize our dog for a day or two and estimated $2500+ extra (on top of what we paid 610 i think). We didn't want that, we wanted to take our dog to our regular vet later, then she became aggressive and started arguing, then, suggested euthanizing our dog in a condescending manner.
Our dog was not dying. The vet's suggestion of euthanasia was 200% unnecessary. Today, she is still living happily, with no pain. Why suggest to kill animals that can live? Because we did not want hospitalize her? Obliviously, we did not need 2500+ hospitalization, the vet wanted extra $$.

I felt like this doctor gives you the worst case scenario ONLY and puts fear into your head. I had another dog with the same condition before, and other good vets weren't like her at all. Other vets gave me options (such as treatment with medications) but this vet is like there is only one way and that's her way.
This vet seems to push the highest cost option and don't tell other options. If we don't take the vet's option, she becomes very unhappy and makes you feel like you are the worst dog parents ever and suggest to kill the dog.

We got our dog back after a while as discharging procedure took quite some time. While waiting, I asked the receptionist how long we wait then she said 'i don't know, we have other emergency' with an attitude. What? Other emergency? There was only one other patient who was not able to pay the expensive bill and was told by the same receptionist that they could not do anything until they receive money.

A discharge note we received, our dog's name and other strange dog's name mixed all over. They just copied and pasted from other document and forgot to change other dog's name. Wow, good job for $600.

After we declined the vet's suggestion, she never return to us to explain anything. Never showed us X-ray they said they took. Other vets normally show us, some place even send it to me by email. The vet probably think we are stupid and do not know those things. She has that kind of attitude, unfortunately.

If you don't have thousands of dollars, I do not recommend this place.
If you have thousands of dollars, you can go to better places.
Either way, I do not recommend.

Both Dr. Clarke and Dr. Abbott went above and beyond to save my dog, and without them he wouldn’t be alive. He is home now and back to his usual self. This wouldn’t have been possible without the lovely team here ️

My 12 year old Blue Heeler got bit by a wasp and had a severe reaction. His whole face swelled up, he was vomiting and had diarrhea a few hours later. We saw Dr. Abbott, who was very thorough and explained everything. All the staff are amazing, compassionate and professional! Thank you for taking care of my best buddy!

What vet charges $40 to collect pee from a cat when we were already charged $117 for urinalysis collection. Any way to make more money its disgusting really not to mention a 6 hour wait. I spoke to the front reception at 3 AM she really did not seem nice at all no sense of compassion or empathy at least that's how it appeared to me and because of this and much more we will not be returning to this clinic. Do not recommend.

Messerable Reception. Tipical sad face New Fashion. Vet was Rude and complaining about working. Poor animals that have to stay over night. Covid effected people, Pitty.
