I was there for a company Christmas party. It’s was so amazing. The food was incredible, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. I highly recommend going this restaurant to everyone

We came here for lunch and were disappointed by the overall service and portion. The calamari and mussels dishes were barely warm like it sat there for a while before coming to our table. The pasta and veal dishes portions were questionable considering the amount we paid. The pasta was 4 to 5 bites and was undercooked. The only good thing was the bread.

The service was slow and our server probably was more attentive to other tables that had ordered wine.

Company Xmas party. Excellent food intimate feelings, the staff were outstanding friendly, funny. Over all excellent experience

First time visiting this restaurant. The two dining rooms are good size. The food and service were excellent.
If you're drinking a bottle of wine with dinner, you're looking at $70 per person.

My friend and I shared an absolutely delicious Caesar salad with scrumptious bread. Cannelloni for each of us was Devine. Service was incredible. Will be returning for sure very soon. Please everyone, if you want authentic and delicious food, eat there.

Update July 6 2023. All I can say is AMAZING! Brought our friends from NS they were very impressed cant wait to come back. Great food, great service. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I love this restaurant and have since 1991. Best Authentic Italian cuisine and great service. The food is always consistently excellent cant say enough. The portabello mushroom is such a treat we have it every time. I love to introduce this gem to friends whenever possible. Have missed Villa through covid SO HAPPY TO GO BACK!

Wonderful food and service! The calamari and spinach linguine with shrimp were fabulous. Our server who was new to Calgary from Italy was fantastic, she took such great care of my son and I from start to finish. We will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the flavour but found the waitress (service) to be lacklustre. We weren’t checked on throughout our dinner and that is part of the dining experience. I just found for a hundred dollars the service could have been more in touch to check on how we were doing and whether if we needed anything. We noticed other parties were checked on but we just felt forgotten about which was disappointing. I would like to return for the food, but I’ll be hesitant just because of how I felt when I left, which was letdown.

Greeted by the owmer was the start of the most wonderful dinning experience. Our waiter Dominik was pleasent and couldnt ask for better service.the food was outstanding and truly authenric.cant wait to come back and will be requestung Dominik again.hats of to Chefs and the whole dinning experience.

Everything was so wonderful. We had such incredible service from the time we arrived to the end. The food was also very delicious. The wine menu has such a variety as well. We will definitely be back!

Apologies to Villa Firenze that it's been so long since my last visit. Your food and service clearly showed that more visits are warranted. Your portobello mushroom in cream sauce has no equal.

The restaurant is nice and clean. Servicr was very nice. The food was very good, especially the baked portobello mushroom and seafood fettuccine pasta. Don't order their minestrone. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Tried to branch out from my fave Italian places!

Its a beautiful place to go to, the interior is nice, but I was waiting by the front door for over 10 minutes before finally seeing a waitstaff to wave down to get our reserved table.

The waiter was lovely and very attentive. I ordered the Villa Firenze pasta dish and it was very delicious and filling. The Prosecco was also nice, not too dry. The panna cotta was also lovely!

My only other qualm was that there was another waitress that was very loud and was singing all the time to tables. She had a decent voice but that was not what I was hoping for with our quiet dinner.

Been coming here for 20 years. Never had a bad experience. Last night was no exception. Rare to find a restaurant where you get the same server for 20 years as well.

We came in to celebrate our folks anniversary and the ambiance and food was great.

Our service was something left to be desired though. As soon as we sat down, we felt rushed to order, had our order choices questioned (food and wine) without any recommendations, and when asked for the dessert menu, our server couldn’t be bothered to get us a menu and just rattled off choices. We saw afterwards the cannoli cheesecake was on the menu and would’ve loved to try if we knew it was on the menu. We felt completely ignored. Even after the bill was paid up, our server didn’t even bother to say goodbye and just left without a word. She made us feel that we over tipped for her service.

All in all, we enjoyed the food immensely but the server seemed inattentive to our table and left us with a sour experience. Hopefully we just caught the server on a bad day. We picked an upscale restaurant to celebrate their 35th and make it a special night. The food was great but the service really dampened the special occasion.

Quite disappointed by this restaurant that have been open since 1991. I thought of it as an institution but our mussels were quite ordinary, the Cesar salad without taste and the cannelloni overcooked. All my friends had the veal. Masala, combozola sauce, etc. The vegetables were or overcooked or under cooked, the sauce was nice as well as the appetizers; the shrimps and the calamares. The service was fabulous but for the price, there is so many great restaurant in YYC, i would not be back.

Absolutely wonderful experience everytime we go! From excellent staff to exceptional food. The owner Pina is always super friendly. Mauel was out waiter this time and he was phenomenal as usual. Highly recommend!

We dined at Villa Firenze this evening. As usual the service was excellent, the food was excellent, the ambiance was excellent. Our favourite authentic Italian restaurant in Calgary. We had Vongole and Calamari both of which were very good. The owner came over and spoke with us personally to make sure everything was OK, much appreciated.

This restaurant used to be good so I recommended it for our night out with friends. It was a mistake. The waitress was rude and intrusive. It was so dark in the restaurant you couldn't see the food. The portions were very small for the price; two small crackers with a tablespoon of bruschetta $15. Everything was significantly overpriced and the food mediocre. I had the veal but I doubt very much it was veal. The vegetables were so tough my friend couldn't cut it. The potatoes were dried up pieces of skin reheated to an inedible degree. At a neighboring table, they sent back their food because it was inedible and the second dishes were left mostly untouched. My friends were too nice to say anything but I was very embarrassed. Save yourself the trouble and give this restaurant a pass.

Staff and settings were super nice! I ordered the fettuccine pesto but wasnt overly impressed, very oily. But the other orders were tasty.

We've been here couple times with friends and family but it disappoints me everytime. Food are overpriced for sure and rude staffs. But especially everytime we go staff and chefs are outside staring at us and talking about people. Felt like we were not welcomed and it was very uncomfortable.

If you want classical and exquisite Italian flavors, head over to Villa Firenze. It may be a bit quaint, but for authentic tastes, this is the place. They have it all, with a few daily market fresh specials to tease you even more. The service was terrific, wine selection impressive. We'll be back soon.

Food was ok. Pretty unimpressive, over all. Tried it twice now. If the prices dropped or the food quality came up to where it is priced, it would have made it somewhere I would go again.

The price is high, but if you want a high-end experience you're going to love from beginning to end, this is the place. The food and service will blow you away.

Excellent dinner. We had the privilege of having Manuel as our waiter. He was outstanding - excellent service. All the food we ordered was very, very good. The only exception was perhaps the veggies were a little underdone but not a huge deal breaker. So good, we’ve already made another reservation for another visit. Grazie!

Pasta tasted very good and same for the appetizer. I’ve missed better options for dessert. Service was great.

Had an amazing dinner. We got the gnocchi in bolognese, spinach pasta with black mussels and oyster mushrooms in tomato sauce, and bruschetta. All were fantastic. Staff was also very friendly and made for a pleasant dinning experience.

My wife and I enjoyed our 3 year anniversary here tonight. Delicious food, nice atmosphere, and very very kind servers who showed a lot of care towards our 7 month old.

We had the opportunity to visit this on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was very quaint and romantic. Our server was attentive and friendly. The dishes we ate were delicious and the wine accompanied our dishes were a great addition. The foccacia bread was delicious and we will definitely be back.

Are you kidding me? The only review for this 'My favourite restaurant' is. I love it waaay too much. Authentic Italian masterpiece dishes.and oh so romantic in the evening. Order Penne Al Domenico and try to stay out of the clouds

Went here last night with my family and we had an amazing experience! Our server, Queen, was so funny and personable and really added to the night. We were celebrating and the staff did not disappoint. The food was incredible as well and we ate everything family style so we could try all of it. Overall, a great place to go with delicious food and awesome staff.

Goggled Italian restaurants near me when I was in the core. Took the short drive here. Intimate setting yet still distanced away from people. The food was good. Their hand sanitizer is the best I've smelled in a restaurant or store and doesn't leave your hands feeling gross like some do.wow who would have thought hand sanitizer comes into reviews now.

The owner/server was great and very engaged with us in conversation. She made several recommendations about the daily specials. The pizza was killer! And, the sea bass perfetto! It’s a little more American/Canadian Italian, but well worth the money. The decor was nice (all wood blinds) and typical of a family business with Italian flare! We will be back!

Always enjoy the food, atmosphere and the lovely staff at Villa Firenze. The portion sizes are huge, I can usually take 1/2 my neal home. The food is fresh, flavorful and presented beautifully. The ladies who take care of the guests are really wonderful. They are kind, funny and on the ball when it comes to the service level. A wonderful place for a night out with your family or friends!

One of the best restaurants in the city! IMO the best Italian. They can make fettuccine alfredo on request. Everything is fresh and high quality.

An absolute must dine in experience! There take out is also excellent. A Family Favorite for us!

I was recommended from a friend to dine here, and I am now hooked! The staff are the greatest and incredibly kind, and the food is to die for! Get the Portabello mushroom, you will not be disappointed!

Cozy, home-y and inviting. We had the veal parmesan and the pesto gnocchi, both of which were amazing. The service was great and they were super friendly and attentive. The head chef (or owner, not sure which) came by at the end of our meal to ask how it was and thank us for coming in. She even gave us a jar of freshly made apricot marmalade! Would recommend:)

I attached photos of the meal. Got a tomahawk steak with vegetables (Soft carrots, Asparagus, delicious small baked potatoes, fantastic mushrooms that were so full of flavour it surprised me, and green beans that had a unique subtle seasoning). The tomahawk steak may not be on the menu yet, but this being my first experience here really left an impression. The meat was buttery soft. A little charred around the perimeter but purposeful. The whole meal seemed deliberate. That's how I could tell the caliber of the meal. I've rated places five stars often, but this is one of those places that you gotta grade on a different level, because it just felt to me that all the different components of the meal were made with purpose. I ate nearly twice as much as I would normally eat and it was so easy to take "one extra bite". The tomahawk steak dish can feed 2 people very well, this was a really cool experience. Incredible tiramisu also, quite notable. Not overpoweringly coffee flavoured, really creamy, and really light, like I could run a fork through it with no effort it was very soft and moist and quite creamy. Easy to inhale lol. Great service as well, I'd certainly reccomend this spot.

Spectacular meal. Our server Carla was amazing. Her wine choice superbly commented our meal. The lasagna was delicious and the portions were huge. Will be sure to visit again soon. Saw their COVID response and noticed each table was stripped and sanitized before another seating. Tables were adequately spaced.

We decided to try here after reading about it online.

We had the portabella mushroom and a salad to start. Both were good but the mushroom was absolutely outstanding - so delicious. The bread that we were given too was divine.

We ordered the lasagne and cannelloni for our mains. When our dishes came, there had been a mistake and we got the pasta della casta, instead of the lasagne. We chose to keep it though, instead of waiting for another dish to be made. The lady that took our order and made the mistake was lovely and very apologetic. Both of the pasta dishes were amazing and the best we have had in Calgary. The portions are huge so we got some packed up to save room for dessert.

For dessert, we got the tiramisu. I have had tiramisu elsewhere and not been a fan of it but this tiramisu is the best I have had. So light and tasty. This was removed from our bill since there was a mistake with our mains.

We have found our new favourite Italian restaurant in Calgary and can't wait to return.

Excellent food and service!

The complimentary bread is amazing, especially with the sauce from the tasty portobello appetizer. The table got multiple servings of bread before the mains came and we were relatively full. I had the stuffed veal which was rich and a decent serving size, which allowed me to leave the restaurant stuffed full. Some in the party were so full they ended up taking most of their pasta home.

The service was very attentive, far more so than at most restaurants, despite the table being large enough for mandatory tip.

I was here about a week ago for a birthday with a party of 12. On top of the amazing food, I wanted to shout out to the service even more. Our server (which I was so blown away by I even asked for his name, which was Fabrizio), was out of this world. The kindest human I have ever met who was dead set on making this experience amazing - always filling up our wine and water glasses, never judging when we got the pronunciation wrong when it came to pasta dishes, a smile from ear to ear (I could go on and on.)

This was last weekend and I am still in awe of the experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing Italian food and even more amazing service. They make you feel welcome even if you show up in ripped jeans. Would highly recommend - 6/5 stars for me and will most definitely be back.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! If I could give them zero stars I would, they deserve nothing.

If you are celebrating a special occasion or make any special requests while at this restaurant, you will be IGNORED and given exactly what you DO NOT want.

My son died a month ago and yesterday would have been his “champagne” birthday, which my family and I had gone to celebrate at Villa Firenze (my first time there). When I asked to be seated at another table that would be quieter (pointing out the vacant, preferred location), the manager instead put us at a table that was no quieter and now in the dark (which was even worse!), stating that the one I wanted was no better. I guess that was her showing me who was boss, instead of giving me the table I had pointed out - which remained empty for the duration we were in their restaurant (2.5 hours).

The server was also a bully, staring me down when I told her that the manager had “turned me off” and I therefore wanted nothing when it came time to order. She just smiled at me and very curtly said “yes I know”, glaring at me until I had to turn my gaze away from her, she was just plain scary! I cannot believe how cold and callous the staff at Villa Firenze are! When I told the server about the “special” birthday celebration it was to be for my son (him dying a month ago, etc), she said she’d tell the manager but yet no apology or acknowledgement for their actions was ever received.

I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. I was mortified at their behaviour and callous treaatment in my time of angst - we had just come from completing a balloon release at the cemetery for my son. What should have been a nice, relaxing dinner during a very stressful time, was an absolute nightmare.

Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a separate area for large groups and special occasions. Reservations are recommended.

This review is one star by default because I cannot rate it a zero, unfortunately.

The scampi is sub par, and mushy. It must have been boiled and grilled for a fraction of a second. Not to mention flavorless. Bruschetta was not far from the same. Save your money, and go elsewhere. The mains were gross too, only thing Italian about it was music. OH AND THEY DO NOT CARRY FRESH GRATED PARMESAN. The heck? Never again.
