Village Square Leisure Centre

The Water park and wave pool at Village Square Leisure Centre will be closed for annual maintenance and cleaning beginning September 5,2023.   Reopening date:  mid December 2023.

Fitness studio, multipurpose rooms, weight room and gymnasium have reopened.

Great place with lots around to do, there's the swimming pool for all your swim needs be it family day out with hotels and steam room and a diving tank with some water slides, there is also a couple of gym's and Arobic classes and a weight room, than there's the library where you can use the computers for games or personal work if computers are all busy you can use a laptop at no cost, and you can take books of any kind you may need from kids books to self help books and even books in other languages, there is also a small restaurant inside that is called ethnic Cafe used to be a coco brooks you can get burgers samosas etc.great family center:)

We went to the library and the people are very friendly and helpful.

Tip! Even if you forget your library card, just approach the counter and they will be happy to assist you and provide you with your library number ang password, that way you can use the library services such as printing and borrowing of books.

We spent an afternoon here in March 2023. Just before we left my daughter and son had a swimming race to the wall. As they were racing, the waves started and once they got to the wall, my son (who is a very strong swimmer) couldn’t stay afloat and almost drowned. No life guard saw him. My husband who decided to chase behind them for fun was trying to keep my son out of the water and he was shouting at lifeguards—no one heard him. Someone else in the pool saw their struggle started shouting at the nearest lifeguard too, no one heard him either. After a minute or two, my husband figured out a way to get my son away from that spot and swimming to shallow water.

It rattled my husband so much that he refuses to ever go back there. There shouldn’t be music music playing at the pool and there is an obvious blind spot that no life guard’s eyes ever evaluates.

I've been to this waterpark a few times, a couple times about 8years ago and most recently this past week. This place is awesome for all ages, they have free life jackets for the littles ones if you need them, slides for all ages and if you have a youngster you can slide with them as an adult. This place is awesome, cheap and fun for the whole family.

The hot tub was like warm, the sauna is too small (it used to be bigger). I hadn't gone in years and I'd go to southland over this place any day (and southland isn't that great either)

Lots of things to do, before pandemic. Fun for all ages, friendly staff, and eager to help if necessary.

I was at the Public Library getting a Fair Entry Transit Bus Pass.
Staff seems quite nice & Helpful.

Staff of Calgary transit are extremely rude. I came to buy a bus pass, the old guy kept saying I dont know and I was very confused of his meaning. After that, he said he needs to check my ID. Rude and patronizing.

Swimming here is always a fun time. There's plenty of lockers in the change rooms, and the water slides are great. The only thing that could be improved upon from what I've seen is the cleanliness of the slide stairs. They need to be hosed down more often. There was one occurrence where I went swimming two days in a row, and on both days there was the same Band-Aid sitting on the stairs to the slide.

The 3 stars are for the facility's. I'm very disappointed in the fact that my friends and I get watched over because of this Idea that teenagers just destroy everything and especially the lifeguard David picks on us all the time.

I loved when I went here with my friends on a pool party, I love the swimming pools and the Wave coming in. I'm glad I had so much fun here with my friends, Good facility and quite a good location, I guess It's a good location.

This place is great to go swimming at plus I'm also able to get my low income bus from there instead of going to other far places l

5 star place its awesome i've been with my friends very long ago and another time with my youth group.

Great family place to play sports & swim & also has a library. Close to restaurants, gas station, grocery store, bank, postal office

Love this wave pool, I've always loved swimming here even as a kid. Only downside is the price. Alittle steep for such a small swim timeframe.

Very disappointed about lifeguard Special the one is The Tower they see everywhere to Floor, was Kids Afroamerican with two girls, was doing Activities in a property in the water,

Very nice facilities, we went to tbe pool. Unfortunately the hot tub was down, presumably for repairs. But everythong else was great, not even very busy for a Sunday.

Full service facility, very clean. Only detractor is that the automatic doors are not always working for my wheelchair bound companion.

Changed alot since I was last there, still very clean open and welcoming, haven't had a renewed tour yet but looks very promising!

Recently renovated and now fully functional since 2019 Sep 23, is a good leisure centre initiative of City of Calgary. Excellent Library, reasonably equipped Fitness centre excellent Wave pool with shower facility, hot tub and steam room. Full time life guards, various fitness session like Zumba, Sit to health session which is a boon to disabled people. Hats of City of Calgary for your initiatives.

The kids I took here thought it was amazing! Front desk staff was super friendly and helped us get a great deal on our trip from regina! Lifeguards were well-trained and intervened when an emergency arose! Great job and thank you!

After about three hours at Village Square Waterpark your kids will be completely tuckered out. You can rent flotation devices, balls but life jackets are free.

I love village square because people are so nice and kind also because there's a library and when my children are swimming we can go to the library and read some books! But also when ur in the library there's kids screaming and yelling which I don't like!

This place and Southland Leisure Centre are the best pools in the city. They have the best features by a large margin. Village Square has the better water slides (when they're open) and Southland has the best wave pool. The play structure at Village Square is pretty fun too!

The staff at the reception aren't smiling. They have hard feelings like we are the enemy. In summing poll staff like a soldier has war. Hard to talk to them.

Amazing recreation centre. Has lots of programs like skating, swimming, soccer etc. My kids come here close to everyday because they love it. 10 out 10 or 5 stars

Brought the family here and had an absolute blast! Lots of stuff to do for the whole family! Steam room, large hot tub, big pool, kids pool, 2 big water slides and a large kids play area. Kept us busy and entertained for hours and it was all for a great price too!

Very good place with an amazing pool and more but the chlorine smell from the pool is so strong, as soon as you open the door you can smell it
