Every time I go the baristas are hard at work and are passionate about what they do! I’ve only ever had great drinks from here, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite coffee places in the city!
Quality has gone way down recently, and like I saw another reviewer mention I’ve noticed a lot of staff turnover. A real shame, but Pocket Coffee is pretty good and only one block away
I like this place. It’s small, and isn’t overcrowded. It has free wifi, and some decent cakes and goodies. The staff are nice and friendly. Most important though the coffee is really good.
Super service, charming staff, beverages top notch.they need umbrellas for sun protection, made the suggestion and was told essentially that it is inconvenient for them to not burn their customers. So pay up, but put up with us as your comfort is an inconvenience for us. Too many other fine options, I don't have to go there and get burned to enjoy the outside. Begs the question what other corners do they cut that pertains to the customers heath and well being?
OK coffee place, which has a good location on 19th St NW. Used to be better. Service was middling. Asked for a small cappucino and the girl seemed oblivious to the concept. I got a largish capp with too much milk. Decor is spartan and vibe is flat.
I own a unit in the building and am disgusted by the disrespect this company has for the community/people who live in the building. They drag their garbage through the building to the parkade leaving a coffee stained trail. They never clean up after themselves. June 28th fresh coffee trail in the building and down the stairs. I have complained numerous times to the property management company but this mess continues.
Okay I have tried many cafes in Kensington but this is almost like a hidden gem. Loved the interiors and the ambience. We got drip coffee and cappuccino, both tasted lovely. Service was okayish. Not many options for baked goodies. Will be back to try food and other coffee. PS. Please excuse the blurry pictures, my phone camera was being weird that day.
Great little cafe. Excellent coffee and a nice variety of casual treats. A little pricey, but good value. Street parking, which can be hard to find at times.
Fortunately, this review has everything to do with Vintage’s amazing customer service, stellar product and coffee and excellent communication with their customers. I think especially in these challenging times, as consumers and citizens, we have to look out for, support and promote local business - especially top tier ones like Vintage. When municipal, provincial, and federal governments are making it difficult on small businesses right now with unpredictable regulations and minimal support, we have to be understanding when a business needs to change their hours. A business never changes their hours to inconvenience you and there are often bigger forces at play.
Over this past summer I visited Vintage a dozen times. Each time I was greeted by a number of friendly (masked) smiles who after my third visit already remembered me. I would often ask for suggestions and they would always point me in the right direction. I can confirm that their coffee and pastries are first rate. And their baristas are highly skilled. Always I left feeling not only pleased with my purchase but delighted with the experience.
THANKS YOU VINTAGE FOR BEING A SHINING LIGHT IN THESE BIZZAR TIMES.
Great service everytime I visit. This is a local shop and the owners are hard workers and are passionate about the products they serve. Once you visit, you will return again because of the wonderful experience. The teddy Graham latte is the BEST!
Great Coffee, I've been coming here for a few years and always enjoy the coffee, service and friendly staff. But PLEASE, PLEASE stop double cupping your drinks or at least ask the customer if they want it double cupped first. It's extremely inconvenient. I am told that you do this to prevent spillage but in reality it creates more spillage and is creating unnecessary wastage. I live five minutes away and always have to go through this and just transfer it to a mug anyways. Thanks, Kyle
Delicious drinks and very friendly staff. The atmosphere is very nice and enjoyable. I've had a few meetings here and look forward to many more visits.
Cappuccino is always nice and strong, it's bright inside and staff are friendly but not overly chit-chatty, which I like. Parking at the back is super handy and the coffee shop has a fresh vibe.
Really nice coffee shop, I personally visit with my partner when I don't want to head downtown for meetings. The service is pretty good and the coffee quality is really good.
Our family visits this shop 3-5 times a week as it is walking distance from our home. We have always had fabulous, friendly and quick service. The hot and cold drinks are always great and their chocolate croissants are incredible too! So grateful to have this gem in our immediate area, though we would likely travel to enjoy it too if we had to.
Coffee could be better. But you can't beat the location. A bit crammed for sitting down, but luckily there is an abundance of park space nearby to enjoy your brew
I frequent Vintage as it’s in my neighbourhood and I prefer to support local businesses, especially when it comes to the daily caffeine rituals. Their seasonal lattes are quite exceptional, I loved the Black Forest latte. The only reason I give it a 4 star is due to the almond milk they use, it’s a brand that has a out of the carton taste, which doesn’t fare well for artisanal crafted beverages. I feel that for the competitive prices of their lattes, they could use a better quality almond milk or even make their own with prices comparable to other local coffee shops who make their own nut milks. Also, I don’t understand why Vintage serves their coffee in 2 cups.seems not very environmentally friendly or cost effective.
It's a cute little coffee shop, except the chairs aren't comfortable at all (probably done on purpose so people don't stay too long) + there just isn't enough seating! But if you can get a seat, it's a very cozy, sunny, bright little spot for a coffee.
Excellent coffee, excellent atmosphere. I’ve conducted interviews for my team here, and just visited to relax for a quick after breakfast coffee. Genuinely recommend that everyone stops by and gives them a try
It's a nice cozy little cafe, with tasty drinks. A great place to meet for a visit, and is just down the block from Made by Marcus, so you can add ice cream to your coffee and conversation outing!
This is my local - I go to Vintage between 3-5 times per week. Their drip coffee is top notch, both the medium and dark roast. I believe they have switched over to serving Fratello grinds over the past year - they have a knack for brewing it. The drip is not watery and has just the right amount of punch to it. The staff are all very friendly, it's been great to get to know them.
This coffee shop really takes pride in providing local coffee bean options and their baristas are quite skilled and knowledgeable. Its located in a beautiful neighbourhood and is a great option if you want to veer out of downtown for a bit. It’s a great coffee shop to get work done as it’s quiet and bright and there’s a long table in case you need to spread out and collaborate with others. There are some lower tables which are perfect for conversations, and finally, there are large windows to look out of in case you’re a day dreamer.
Got an avocado toast with sprouts and the sprouts had gone bad! Staff was busy so I just picked em off but actually the taste lingered so I’m a bit worried maybe I shouldn’t have eaten it! I’m sure the toast is usually good but please check the freshness of the sprouts. Also, I asked for a cup to stay to save on plastic and was given a to go cup-just a friendly reminder to staff to please remember reusable cups:)
Great staff and management! Coffee is excellent, atmosphere good and clean. They also returned my wallet which I'd forgotten (first time in over 20 years)! Great spot to stop - believe the reviews.
Nice space. We had a meeting, and planned to have a coffee as well, but the line was slow and when we got to the front the person behind the counter just turned his back on us without any acknowledgement. We waited for a few minutes, but nothing, so we just had our meeting and left.
Cafe photos are more fancy than reality. Coffee was burned. Menu is not enough for lunch. Stuff didn’t pay attention to visitors. For such a price I would prefer Starbucks that is nicer and cosy.
Good place to chill. The staff doesn't rush you to leave and there's a variety of customers coming in and out so no matter if you're meeting for business or for fun it'll suit your needs. Drinks were made promptly and were similar to prices of other cafes. The matcha latte was made well. The barista took the time to stir in the powder to ensure all lumps were broken down. My only suggestion would be that the drink should be hotter but other than that the taste and texture was great.
Great decor, nice seating and decent coffee. I tend to like really bold, acidic, berry notes espresso. So my pull wasn't up my alley, but it was still very good.
Best atmosphere of all the cafes in the NW/non-downtown area for studying and meeting for coffee. Doesn't have the bustle and noise of Higher Ground but still has a good atmosphere, and its such a small place that it always feels intimate and the staff are really friendly. Outlets in all of the big tables for laptops, and a bar-style table in the middle that is perfect for sitting down for a coffee meeting.
A pretty good spot for coffee. Usually less busy than the places just to the east (Higher Ground, Starbucks etc). The decor is modern and minimalist, coffee is done well, and there's parking around. My only hesitation is that there's not really a 'hook' that makes the place stand out. They do a lot of things well, but are maybe missing something to call their own.
Great coffee, unique decor but tables along the window are in the way of the ordering line. The lemon muffin looks impressive but in taste and texture disappointments. It reminded me of supermarket bakery product.
