Been going here for a couple years. Very clean and professional environment with lively staff and amazing hair stylist. I have yet to be disappointed. If you need a haircut I would highly recommend Viva Hair!

Horrible.
Took my 14 year old daughter there. Spoke to the stylist advised just a trim she had a picture. I stepped out for 15-20 minutes. Hair was done when I got back.
He made a comment I was late. Day before school starts we are all busy it was my lunch break.
Charged me $65. I paid with tip not sure why. Then I realized it wasn’t even washed. $75 with tip for 15 min of work. She even had to ask for it to be blow dried and no product at all. Their website says 35-55 for teens? !

When I questioned it he gave me $15 back.
NEVER AGAIN.

Tried this place for the first time. Went for a bang trim. Was an excellent price and the stylist did an amazing job. Excellent customer service. I left very happy with exactly what I was looking for.

After reading all the raving reviews about this place, I was in for a rude shock when I went there. I had asked to just trim my hair and add some layers in the front to frame my face. He did trim my hair but didn't do layers although he claimed he did. My hair did have layers from before the haircut, but had grown out and he told me that he added those layers. Apparently he assumed I could not see what he was doing. Then came the best part. He blow dried my hair (very roughly I might add and burnt me a few times after which i winced - so he stopped,) and then he switched to iron my hair out. I asked him if he could use the roller brush to set my hair as I'd prefer having that instead of ironing it. He told me that since my hair was too thick, it would be time consuming and continued ironing my hair while literally breaking my hair everytime. I was waiting to get out as I felt that it was only because of my skin color I was treated that way. Everyone else at that salon (4 other lovely ladies) had their hair blow dried with the roller brush as requested.

I never write a bad review even if I have had a not so good experience, but this appalled me and I had to let others know how terrible this person was. He is the younger of the two men that was working there and had such a terrible attitude. A big shout out to the owner, Rana! Thank you for being so patient with me and booking an appointment with Hassen to “fix” my hair. Had the honour of having my hair done by him since I’ve heard so much positive comments about him. He really took the time to understand my needs while still contributing his professional opinion; He took so much care, talking about what he recommended for my hair. Super happy with the result. Hassen did an amazing job on my hair!

Mike on the other hand is so friendly making sure you have everything you need and checking in if you’re comfortable.

I left feeling and looking amazing.

Had a great experience here, got in the next day for a haircut with Mike! His experience with cutting naturally curly hair was evident. It’s the best cut I’ve ever had! He took the time to cut it dry and then wet, the layers were just what I needed! Thanks Mike!

I took my daughter here for her first big hair chop before her birthday and at first I wasn't sure if the salon was a good match for us but in the end we were both very happy. Her hair looks amazing. I have been to this salon twice now. I cannot believe th they quality of the lightening product that Viva Salon uses. The product is named La Biosthetique. I have been to other salons that use other products and my hair would be very dry and damaged. The owner Hassan assured me that this product was different. I cannot believe the way that my hair turned out. This product left my hair in such good condition after a lightening process compared to anywhere else, ever. After my lightening Soka gave me an amazing haircut helping me to navigate through my indecisiveness. She is so patient, caring and kind. Viva is a great salon and do not overcharge for their services. They care about their clientele and it shows. I will be returning for all of my future hair services.

My first time experienced with VIVA hair salon and it was amazing. Mike was so professional and he transformed my hair way better than my original looks, I just loved it. Will definitely go back again, Up to Mike.

My best friend was balling her eyes out when she came out of the salon. They ruined her beautiful hair and all they had to do was touch up the blonde. I wouldn't recommend this place based on her experience and I'm disappointed to hear that they didn't do anything to make it right.

Got a haircut from Hassan. Was greeted nicely by the front staff and was attended quickly to as well. Hassan understood what I was looking for and made sure I was happy with my haircut and experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

My girlfriend had to call the manager 3 different times when he promised to call her back with a solution. On top of that, she was dismissed and treated poorly, he simply didn't care. After almost 2 months and paying over $140 he still hasn't called back, if I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Waited 5 minutes in reception for someone to come so I could book an apt. No one came to greet or help me.

Hair was dyed, but 3-4 shades darker than I asked for. I was very thorough in my explanation showing pictures, and explains my hair type. When I mentioned it was really dark hair dresser got defensive (passively not angrily) and brought another hair dresser in to comment on the great job. Everyone overall is nice but this was a miss. I was told after I wash my hair a few times it’ll be the color I want. Currently, washed several times still super dark, I really regret dying my hair, wish I could have my money back to go somewhere else.

I came in with the WORST red hot roots from going to a hair school and they did an absolutely amazing job correcting it. They even offered to alter the color free of charge if I wasn’t completely satisfied with the color as the red is still there but they made it blend so much more natural. Would HIGHLY recommend this place for colour and will definitely be returning for my regular cuts/colours.

Brittany has been doing my hair for years. She is absolutely a genius at colour and hair cuts. I get compliments everywhere I go. Each appointment is an experience to look forward to. The salon ambiance is cheerful and welcoming.

The salon is gorgeous & the staff is amazing! Courtney cut my hair after I hadn't got a haircut in at least 5 years. She totally made me fall in love with shorter hair! I have got sooo many compliments, even from strangers! Already making plans to go back and get my hair colored and hire them for my wedding! Would recommend 100%!

I saw Courtney today for the first time and she was amazing. Listened to my requests and gave me advice when I asked for it. I picked up new shampoo, conditioner and a leave in conditioner, but there was no pressure to buy anything. Their product prices are really reasonable! I was in last week to see Mike for a hair cut and color. He did a full set of high lites and a much needed cut. I went in without an appointment and the staff were still able to fit me in and give me the most fabulous service. My highlights turned out the most beautiful ashy blonde I think I've ever gotten, and the whole time I felt like I was getting exactly what I wanted. I didn't anticipate such good results as my hair had been pretty neglected over the past year and I was sporting a very brassy home job! Brittany styled my hair, and she was fabulous as well. She is also a joy to chat to. Overall, fantastic service, and I will be back over and over. Cant't wait for next time!:) I have never been disappointed with this place, but my most recent visit was my favourite yet! Love these guys!

I visited Viva Hair for the first time in August 2021. It had been a whole year since my last haircut (thanks, COVID). Mike was my stylist and did a fantastic job with a cut and highlights. I didn't walk in planning to do the highlights, but he suggested them so I went for it. It was only the second time I've ever colored my hair and I was nervous about it looking fake, but the highlights actually look pleasantly natural. Mike was also very friendly and professional. His knowledge about and passion for hair are very obvious! I will definitely be returning.

Had my hair done by Erin today at Viva hair and I could not of asked for a better service. Showed her what I wanted and she went through everything in detail with me and explained all the ends and outs. It was a very delightful appointment and I am in love with my new hairdo. The manager was very professional as well, Thanks to you I will be back and happy I have found my forever stylist

Very happy with my experience at Viva salon. I  saw Courtney for a cut and colour that was long over due! She is really warm and easy to talk to. She listened to what I asked for and she delivered! So so happy with my hair:) Thank you again!

Got exactly what I was looking for in terms of hairstyle, perfect each time I've gone. Definitely found an amazing place to get my hair done, will be coming in again.

I had the worst experience at this salon. The owner wrecked my hair before my wedding and tried to fix it a second time. I paid over $300 and cried each time I came home. The owner tried to convince me my hair looked beautiful each time. I couldn't tell until I got home and blow dried it. My husband to be convinced me to find a new salon and didn't care what I had to pay to feel beautiful for our big day. Thank goodness for a talented stylist!

So unhappy I called in to book a tone and ask roughly how much and they said said not a lot it's just a tone. (my friend just got hers done and told me it was $60) so assuming it would be around that I book the appointment. The man toned my hair very nice man then tried my hair under the chair with it clipped up then proceeded to comb it out with a pick comb. The hair wasn't even at the point that I could run my fingers threw it or parted and he said we are gone. Now I figured just a tone I wouldn't have it styled but to not even brush threw it or part it I was surprised. Then I go to pay and it was $130 plus there is no option not to tip so the total was $140! I then asked if that's the correct price and he said yes! Completely not worth it. I would have never got it done if I know that it was that expensive!

Love this place, I always get amazing service. They are never late. Always willing to accommodate walk in, and I’m never disappointed! Thanks Mike!

After 17 years, I finally booked an appointment and got my hair done.
It was a huge transformation as I am a brunette and went for blonde highlights. Mike, the owner, was my stylist. He was unbelievable! Such a great person! He was able to work pricing according to my budget and was super understanding of what I needed and could afford.
I am so pleased with the result and will definitely come back for more!

My hair has been cut, coloured and highlighted by Mike for many years. Staff are very friendly. Always feel great leaving with a sassy haircut. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.at least until I realize my regular haircut routine would be harder to get appointments.

I am absolutely appalled by the unprofessionalism of Mike, the owner. I have had to cancel on him twice due to unpredictable life events during this pandemic as I had to take my daughter to emergency. Because of this he told me not to come to the salon any more because I've cancelled. I told him that my daughter's health was more important and he said that he didn't care, he's losing business. So if you're looking for a hairdresser I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Hope you all stay safe and healthy. VERY SAD!

Rana from VIVA HAIR is amazing! You can tell she really cares about her clients. She styled my hair for a beauty pageant and I received so many compliments. Rana made my hair look so voluminous despite having alopecia and damage from lightening. She’s a pillar in our creative community and all the fashion models at the agency love her. Highly recommend!:)

This is a fantastic hair salon. The prices are reasonable and they care for their customers. My cut and color from Mike was fantastic. I definitely recommend them!

As someone who was a hairstylist for 10 years I highly recommend this salon. The staff were professional, friendly, and knowledgable. The salon is a cute little space that is clean and well kept. The way that the mirrors are arranged make it feel like you have your own personal space which is nice.

I attended this salon because it's near my new house. I booked a color and cut which was avaliable same day. The stylist who took care of me (Brittney), was bubbly, enthusiastic, and made me smile. She listened to all of my requests and performed the color application with flawless technique. The cut and style were also beautiful. I couldnt have been happier with the results.

During the appointment I asked if I could get my eyebrows waxed and they were happy to accommodate me. Zaina (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) did an excellent job fixing my eyebrows which had an unfortunate mishap at a different salon. She also recommended a service to improve some skin problems I have been having which I immediately booked.

Overall, great service and even better results.

I have never been loyal to a salon but I think this will be my new spot.

Amazing salon. Great atmosphere. Brittany is personable, realistic and the only stylist I trust with my curly blonde hair.

Saw Brittany for the first time yesterday. She was very bubbly and smiling and so friendly. She made a suggestion about changing the color of my blonde high lighted hair due to the cool color of my complexion. I went for it and got a totally different blonde color - not the yellow highlights I had with no low lights. She gave me a more ash tone blonde color which she said suited me more than the yellowy blonde I walked in with. The low lights she put in my hair matched my natural hair color and she told me it would last me at least 2 weeks longer before I had to come back again. I thought that was very thoughtful of her to make the suggestion and she is right - my low lights are the same color of my natural ash blonde hair and looks very good. I will be going back for my next highlighting appointment. Everything was clean, calm, private and a delightful salon.

By the time she was done, it was too short to deal with.
Needless to say, I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone ever!

Love going to this place to get my hair done. Such a relax environment and they don't let you leave until your hair is exactly as you wanted. Rose blonde - it was an experiment that turned out exactly as I wanted! Love how they made this punch of color still look somewhat natural so It is still appropriate for work.prices are very reasonable compared to alot of other hair salons out there. 5 stars all the way!

Came to Viva Salon and had my hair done by Madeline E, which was amazing. I got the whole shebang - color, cut, and a treatment on my hair to keep it strong.

The salon itself is super inviting with taupe, grey and gold colours. The staff is friendly, the coffee was good too and it was a great experience overall.

This is my favourite salon in the city! Erin is the bomb.com she always listens to what you want, she has good taste and is great to chat with while your getting beautified. I never leave disappointed!

Definitely not a great experience. I am not happy with the haircut nor with the customer service received.and the 'process' very unpleasant - very rough hair combing (my poor ears) and the blow dryer was not hot, it was burning hot. I received the haircut before the hair was washed (which is fine) however, I had to wait for my hair to be washed until M.washed another client's hair first + dried it.if you are hoping for a scalp massage, that's not gonna happen! And the attempt to style my hair was extremely unsuccessful.the left side ends were styled out and the right side ends in. I am sorry to say this but I will not return to this salon nor recommend it!

I went to see Mike at this beautiful Salon that was very warm and welcoming just a few weeks ago. I have been in Calgary for about 6 years and had not had any luck in finding anyone who did my blonde how I liked it, and I spent alot of money just to be disappointed. I had a customer come into my place of work one day recently and her hair was absolutely beautiful! Myself and all my co-workers were blown away how beautiful her hair was, so I asked her where she got her hair done and she told me Mike at Viva. I booked an appointment within a few weeks so go see Mike. I was nervous and really praying that he would give me the blonde hair I was dreaming about and a great cut. He did both! I was absolutely blown away by his talent and kindness! I feel so beautiful and confident again! Thank you so much Mike, I will be back to see you every time I need my hair done! And his wife Zeina and beautiful daughter Rana were absolutely lovely and so talented as well.and they have the cutest little dog named Lala that runs around and makes everyone smile. I have to say I was there for 3 and a half hrs and watched all the other staff do incredible jobs on clients hair. What an Amazing salon and staff! Feels like your part of the Family here. I've been going to Michael at Viva Hair for a very long time for hair cuts, never disappointed and I'm very picky when it comes to getting my hair cut. He's great! Love his wife too. Highly recommend going there for a cut.
