I had residential services with them for 5 years.
They have friendly sales people, Free install & equipment but service calls cost extra.if you want to cancel your services after your contract is done, be prepared to send an email in writing for this.

Just a warning to potential customers, do your research first before signing up, lower costs doesn’t mean better- you get what you pay for, I wish I had done my research first.

If I had an option I would have given Negative 5 as a score, worst company and customer service I have ever experienced in my life till now.

I had an agreement of 10 months left and after that Vivint is still charging me full bill every month, even though all equipment is paid off and never notified a bit on any changes. If the equipment's are paid how can you still charge the same amount including with equipment?

I have made it clear multiple times over customer service call I am not interested at all in keeping the service of VIVINT, they are not up to the mark, equipment's barely worked properly, never been able to open my app in doorbell cam and see who is there, always buffering, and have given me entirely wrong information from customer service multiple times.

So by no means, I was interested in any offer Vivint was producing for me, not satisfied with the service, tool and equipment, customer service nothing at all and don't trust on any offer they are giving after so many misinformation provided.

And now even though I have given notice of 1 month and the account is supposed to be cancelled, still Vivint is charging me for May, for what reason, and not cancelling my account?

I literally never had such difficulties with customer center and overall service of any organization as of Vivint before, this is unacceptable. The worst service I have ever had from an organization seriously.

I don’t care what you read about Vivint online.

Please take my (and others) advice seriously. I didn’t listen to someone and it has cost me dearly.

You should *run* in the opposite direction if speaking to anyone trying to sell you a Vivint home system.

I couple go on for hours about my horrible experience. Right from the poor installation to the app not working, to horrendous customer service wait times, to technicians unavailable due to Covid, the list goes on as to why the system hasn’t worked as sold.

My Vivint security system has probably been the most headache producing product I have ever purchased.

Well It was working but now it glitches a lot and it pauses for 2 mins it doesn't work on my other phone now although it was working.

Horrible service and product. Same complaint as others: Long hold times, contradictory information from different employees, getting hung up on by "accident", etc. It's funny how the hold music keeps getting louder and louder, too. Also, the sales reps pick-up after two rings, but the cancellation dept will stick you on hold for 15-40 minutes each time. You rent equipment that doesn't work and is installed by teenagers, then they try to charge you $50 to come and fix their gear. When they arrived for the scheduled install, they didn't even have the right sim cards to activate the control panel and it doesn't even contact local authorities. They twice promised me a refund in reference to my 3 week cancellation notice and when I called to find out what the delay was, they hung up. I'm now trying on the fourth different day to resolve this childish behaviour. Lawyer and bank will be next.

My husband and I had a rep from Vivint come in yesterday to install our new system, as well as a doorbell camera. The rep Joey was the definition of a professional! He was extremely friendly, answered all of our (many!) questions and was really thorough with our tutorial too. He was there for a few hours and it couldn’t have gone any better. I personally hope Joey is made aware of this feedback and hopefully gets rewarded accordingly as he is a fantastic representation of this company - thank you!

Awful. I have been a customer for four years and paid what I consider to be a premium for this service. Absolutely the worst customer service going. Equipment doesn't work as promised and you CANNOT get service when you need it. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I have spent the last three hours on the phone. I still have not been able to cancel my account. I consider myself fleeced to the tune of about $4,000. I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Quick update.just got through to customer service and it will cost me $1,000 to get out of my contract 1 year early. Seriously. BEWARE this service.

Been on hold with 4 people today and over 2 hours listening to the hold music. First one put me on hold forever, then someone else picks it up, second cut me off. Third guy gave me a different number to call but ends up being the wrong department, last guy just hang up on me. Worst customer service ever. Good thing I found out before becoming a customer. Imagine if I actually needed their service and to being able to patch through. Stay away from their sloppy service.

I left the last guy I talked to with my number, if you want my business, give me a call today.

After being a customer of 10 years I recently had some difficulties and frustrations with the level of service at Vivint. After complaining 4 times however and threatening to cancel my service they demonstrated an appreciation for my customer loyalty with a fair discount for the rest of my contact.
Unfortunately after that we realized our panel isn't working properly. After waiting another 3 weeks for a repair it still hasn't come. Now I've been trying to cancel my service for the last 10 days but Vivint keeps giving me a run-around with the cancellation. This is by far THE WORST service I have ever received from any company.
DO NOT USE VIVINT for your security needs.

My wife and I were at the Calgary Home & Garden show a couple of weeks ago and talked with Jon Whidden in the Vivint booth about their products especially the video option.
Jon set up an appointment for the following Tuesday to review our home’s configuration. I took the opportunity to check with our current alarm company on the upgrade requirements before Jon’s appointment.
We were impressed with the pricing as well as the ability to use most of the sensors in our home and able dovetail in the cameras we were looking for. The lynch pin was we didn’t have to change our internet provider to fibre to support multiple cameras (as advised by our current alarm company).
We booked our install, which was done very efficiently by Selina, a couple of days later and patiently answered all our questions and provide good instruction on the new system.
In the interim Jon contacted us and let us know about the new door camera that was just released and we would be having the benefit of package detection as part of their service (it works!).

Jonah and Josh were very knowledgeable and helpful in setting up our smart home security system. The installation was quick and Josh took all the necessary distancing and cleaning protocols that are in place these days. Very happy with the service and the system. I would recommend to anyone looking for a security system

Just recieved an invoice for $68 that was explained as a "service tax adjustment" - the customer service representative was polite and had it refunded. Extremely shady for a company to send out 100,000 errors in hopes that only a percentage of people look at their bills. This seems like horrible business practice to me. Always look at your bills!

The installer was very helpful and very informative. He didn’t try to up sell us on anything, which both my wife and I appreciated. We have recommended Vivint to a few of our friends, as we are totally satisfied with the system we had installed.

We replaced our existing alarm company for various reasons. They had missed the mark on a few things and especially on their app! It never seemed to work and made you sign in almost every time. Our sister had Vivent and highly recommended them, and so we got in touch with them and they sent out Jonah. We had a wonderful experience with Jonah and his team. They made sure we had everything we needed and knew how everything worked. AND the app is a BREEZE! LOVE our new alarm!

We got Vivint recently and love it. Jonah and the installer were both amazing, quick and informative. Inquired about a system and it was all set up within 3 days. Jonah’s professionalism and knowledge really helped us feel confident in choosing Vivint. Definitely pleased with our experience.

Amazing service from Jonah, he helped us get exactly what we wanted for our home and even got it installed within a few days. The system itself is super easy to use, the gentleman who installed it showed us step by step of how it all works. Would definitely recommend!

I was with ADT for 15 years and I got better customer service in the first week I talked to Vivint than with ADT gave me in those years! No pressure to buy and no pressure sales for equipment! I love that I can do things on my phone, and add on services when I want! Thanks Jonah!

Both our inspection/quote with Jon and the installation with Ben were great.

They were quite knowledge of all the products, systems and gave us advice on what would work for our home.

We got a great deal from talking with Jon at the Calgary home show. Glad we stopped by.

We had an amazing experience with Vivint. I reached out and had Jonah get back to us right away with information, setting up a meeting and going over the whole process. He was great at telling and showing us the products. We then had the technician come out and she setup the system, went over all of it and was just fantastic! Tonight, we needed some supper with our panel and in seconds we had the help of Luigi and once again, amazing help and patience! We are new with Vivint but my last alarm company was never this amazing with service and I truly appreciate the patience and kindness we have received with the Vivint team!

BEWARE! My parents were taking advantage of, they were lied to by the sales rep. They were very clear with him they didn't want any contracts and he was consistently saying there's was no contact and you can cancel anytime (he's taken advantage of my parents being foreign and not speaking English the best). Low and behold 3 years later my parents didn't need it anymore so when they tried to cancel they were told they signed up for 5years! With me calling to complain, I was basically told " sorry about your luck" this is a company you do not want "protection" from STAY AWAY!

I love my vivint system. The Sales rep, Jonah, was very informative and allowed me to pick products that were best suited for my needs without being pushy. Installation was quick and the product is easy to use. I was supported before, during and after installation to ensure I was satisfied. Would highly recommend!

We were extremely pleased with the prompt response and service recieved. The pre-installation survey was thorough, friendly and carried out by a very knowledgeable person. The survey identified exactly what our specific requirements were. Installation was carried out the very next day! It was done by a very friendly and capable professional. All equipment worked exactly as advertised; cameras with clear 180 degree view and speaker and microphone, automated locks, doorbell camera, smoke and CO detectors, window and glass break sensors.all controlled by an app and communicated to your phone and iWatch. 24/7 Security monitoring is provided as well. Truly fantastic! We definitely recommend Vivint to anyone looking to add security and home automation to enhance their lives.

I called on a weekend and was hoping to hear back right away however got a call on Monday and things moved very quickly after that! Jonah came the same day. We explained what we were looking for, he listened and demonstrated how his own personal system operates! We immediately signed up! Jonah followed up with us the day of instal, after instal and again to make sure everything was functioning properly. We had to get a tech back to fine tune things which was done immediately and Jonah stayed in touch the entire time! Thanks Jonah!

I very recently had a great experience with Blake and his team. I had received quotes from a couple different businesses and was not expecting to move forward with Vivint. However Blake came by our new home not only to give us a quote but a very detailed explanation of the perks and benefits of choosing Vivint which ended up making our decision very easy. Blake was very knowledgeable and genuine and we never felt pressured into a sale. Installation was completed a couple days after our initial consult. The entire process was very professional and I felt that they were very thorough with showing us how the Vivint Smart Home System works. I love how easy the App is to use!
So far so good and I would definitely recommend Vivint and going through Blake McCullough if you are considering a Smart Home System.
