Walk-In Clinic at Walmart Calgary by Jack Nathan Health

No information is provided by front desk employees. Our Alberta health card expired when we were sick and when we came back for the refund they told us they could not provide it because it was outside the time frame. They never said that when we paid for the consultation, they only mention that we can come back any time when we get our new card.

My little one 6 yo daughter and me have the worst experience with this clinic located in Walmart in Westbrook.
I am never leave bad reviews but with this terrible assistant services I decided to do it!
Yesterday we came here to visit like walk in. But the assistant told they didn’t accept patients anymore like walk in clinic and proposed to make an appointment.
My daughter has an Adenovirus, eyes like the High vampire have! But I suppose, the assistant doesn’t know about any disease nothing!
Ok, I booked an appointment for today. Today, we came back in time, but assistant informed me, the doc is not in clinic and we have to wait around 2 hours because 5 patients are waiting before us.
The services are awfully! Pretty advise don’t waist your time for visit this place!

This is quite possibly THE WORST clinic I've ever encountered. No doctor on shift at two in the afternoon.like, seriously? Yet, the clinic was "open". Will never go back to this useless place.

Can be quite busy but they do take appointment so call ahead of time. I saw Dr. Asma twice and she was very supportive and knowledgable.

Well, it's a good thing I didn't waste my time and money (for a cab) to go here.
Based on the reviews, I decided to call to see if walk-ins are still being accepted today.

The first call was unanswered, and I waited about 15 minutes to call back.

The second call, a lady answered and said" No, we are done for the day, we have tomorrow from. "

I cut her off and said" That won't work, I need today. I figured being a walk-in clinic, you would take walk-ins? Thanks. "

Maybe there is a reason why the ratings are so poor.just saying.

Dropped in today to get a medical in order to renew my seniors driver's licence. Saw Dr. Asmara Mahmood who was very professional and friendly and issued the document I required as there were no health issues. Staff were also very professional and friendly.
I highly recommend this clinic.

So horrible. Front desk Asian lady looked like she hated her life and didn’t want to work. She was so rude, made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I came in for a prescription refill for my antidepressants. Read the sign that stated controlled substances can’t be prescribed by a walk in doctor. I didn’t know what she was talking about when it came to prescriptions in general, SSRI’s (AKA antidepressants) are not controlled substances… Effexor to be exact. Left the clinic right away. My doctor is away on vacation therefore I went into a walk in to get my prescription refilled… no wonder this clinic is related barely 2 stars. I felt blatantly disrespected.

I’ve been coming here for over 5 years and have never had a bad experience here? I’ve been seeing Dr Yousef and she’s always very kind, I never feel like she’s rushing when she’s with me like other walk in DR’s. The admin staff are always friendly and kind and Ive never had an issue with them. Hoping to see more positive reviews!

Absolutely rude receptionist, she first said its by appointment only then told me there is no doctor on premises he went home early. At 2.30pm? Why are they open if there is no doctor? Seriousy you are a walk in clinic are you not? Never gonna come back and judging by other reviews nothing is being done to improve service. Going to report to Alberta health services!

Very friendly MOA, and terrific physician (Dr. Reza). I was very pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews! I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic after my very positive experience!

This is the furthest thing from a walk-in clinic. There is a 90% chance the doctor isn't actually there. Don't waste your time trying to see a doctor here.

They call themselves a walk-in Clinic but all week theirs been a sign that say no walk ins. Ridiculous.

A very bad experience with this clinic. They have a doctor who was unrespectful to me and I saw him another time direspecting another patient.

The clinic opens at 10. How can they get away with not having a doctor till noon? ! What is the point of it even being open. Terrible service.

When a walk in clinic is supposed to be open until 7 pm as stated, the doctor should stay in place and accept patient s until 7 pm. And not leave 1 hour earlier meanwhile getting paid by our taxpayers dollars.

The doctors are good but the reception staff are really not welcoming, do not expect a smile or a politeness, she refused to make an appointment with my family doctor telling me that it is not my family doctor! She gave me my health card and she went inside without telling me anything after 5 minutes of waiting I left the clinic and today she called me to tell me that I had my appointment today when I explains to her that it's not true she tells me that she will delete it and that she will no make an for me anymore and I’m not welcoming to this clinic. I'm really upset and sad to deal with people like that

Not lot of patients, very quick as a walk in, got the prescription needed for the crazy flu, no complaints.

Horrible service, we ended up having to leave cause she was so unhelpful at the front desk.everywhere else as long as you have your id and just your healthcare number you will be helped but she denied to do so and as the time of year it is there’s nowhere else really open extremely unsatisfied

Went to there couple times. Not a positive experience. Zero effort or care given. I won’t be back.don't wast time.

Went to try and see a doctor. One person ahead of me (ie not busy).

Just moved from another Canadian province, with a valid health card. They told me $60 cash to see a doctor as I don’t yet have an Alberta health card. *** Incredibly unethical ***.

I am physician myself and I understand people need to make a living, but never would I try and scam a Canadian patient out of money for a healthcare visit. We already pay our taxes and doctors generally get into the business to help people.

This place should be looked into by the health ministry. I’ve been to numerous provinces with an out of province health card in my career and never had an issue!

Take a look at their itemized fee chart when you walk in. This place cares about money, not people.

They have a right to try and extort you and you have a right to go to a different clinic!

Off to another clinic. Avoid at all costs!

Both of the male doctors I've taken my sons to are completely indifferent to actually solving anything and are just looking to get you in and out and get paid. Twice I was told to just give my son orange juice when his cough had persisted for months. I took him to a real doctor at cresent medical which actually checked him out and prescribed a nasal spray and now he's on the mend. I took my newborn son in to find out whether he had a blocked tear duct or an eye infection and the doctor didn't even look at him before prescribing eye drops, I took him to another doctor and found out it was in fact a blocked tear duct that cleared itself up. These people do not care about your children, just don't even go here.

Ok, before I go to the clinic I was real worried because I read a lot of negative comments about it, and I live just 2 blocks from westbrooks mall, so it's nearest one to me, anyways Receptionist was real helpful, I didn't not wait long as I met Dr. Ali and he just wonderful.

This place is complete garbage, doctor was typing with one finger, interrupting me, had to come get help from another nurse and was rude and aggressive, prescribed me the wrong medication and didnt even look at what was wrong. Dont waste your time coming here.

The following details concern my girlfriend and my father. Firstly my parents were here from Ireland on holiday. My father had pain in his throat. He had also suffered from bells palsy that he got before he left home. Wen went into the clinic and explained he was from ireland and they said it would be a $100 dollar fee which anyone would pay to hopefully get a proper exam and a possible fix. We waited I waiting room for a little while and were then moved to dr's office. Dr Mahlase entered the room in a rush. My dad barely got to explain his issue when the doctor grabbed a stick which he then rammed back my father's mouth. Now due to having bells palsy he could not open his mouth properly. Frustrated with this the doctor started mumbling "you have health care card or oh you paid by cash" (what does that have to do with it) "oh looks red" and then wrote out a prescription. Steroids and antibiotics. Needless to say they were useless. While in another doctor's office in another clinic she happened to ask about my father as she had seen him about the bells palsy. I showed her the prescription and told her of the appointment. She said that it was a shot in the dark with the antibiotics which she didnt mind but she stressed that the steroids were not suitable and that he should not complete the dose.
Secondly my girlfriend had a issue with her throat. She had went to the Walmart clinic also. She described the visit and how unhappy she was. With her description I instantly went and looked on her tablet container and what do you know, Dr Mahlase. Her description of his exam was the same as my father's.
Disgusted that someone like this has a license to be a doctor. Something needs to be done about this Dr.

I can't get over the arrogance of this Dr. Mahlase has zero respect for his patients. Sits down in his chair waiting for you say something I have a sore throat. You have allergies you have an infection that what it is. Sticks the wooden stick in my mouth, Slams the light for the ear in my ear, abruptly swabs my throat with out even asking me open my mouth. Saying that this was 11am clinic had only been opened for two hrs. I found this Dr to be very agressive with no need for it.

Doctor came in and didn't even seem like he was listening, didn't make eye contact. Gave me one word answers, I had to ask questions to get an answer on how to use my prescription. The prescptions given to me made the issue worse.

The only clinic I ever been to that dint let me in because I didn't have my card on me.too lazy to go online like every other clinic

If only I can give 0 star on the rating I will. This is not the first time I had bad experience with dr ephraim mahlase. I dnt think he wants to be a doctor. Like other comments he seems in the rush. He did not even introduce himself and never even establish a rapport with my son who is 5 year old. He seems agitated when my son doesn’t want to open his mouth and when he open his mouth he gust put his stick on his tough. What would you expect from my son! The initial reaction of my son is close again his mouth. He just presumed that it could be a sore throat even though he did not see it. He only tried twice and he did not try again. He never even tried to talk to my son. As if he is rushing and as if there were lots of patients. We are the only patients. Very rude Dr. He should not be license to be a doctor. I felt my son was harassed during the consultation. If you can not get a better dr I think you should close your clinic. Too bad for other drs who are practicing there they have a bad reputation of the clinic.
