Miss the old bridge for only the humming sound it made as you drove across it. The new bridge is so much better. It is nice to have a mini beach area and boat launch under the south side as well.
Cool spot for a walk when your visiting the downtown area. The cool breeze from the river keeps the hot temperatures down. While the exposure makes the sunshine enjoyable. There isn’t a lot on either side of the bridge. But over all it’s a cool spot for anyone to visit for a walk. It’s also connected to lots of walking paths along the river valley so you can enjoy a whole day walking. Definitely worth a visit!
One of the only places in Edmonton where you feel lively during summer. A lot of greenery around to admire. Sitting on the hill and admiring the North Saskatchewan River, the bridge and Edmonton downtown is my favorite thing to do.
Iconic bridge on the south side of Edmonton. Great access to the river valley and a huge network of trails. Large parking lot at the Kinsmen rec center. This bridge has stunning views of both downtown and the river.
As a new individual living in Edmonton without many friends is a challenge but there are beautiful places that feel like home. Walterdale gives you an insight into the beauty Alberta has to offer. Just alongside the river, you will find well-preserved first few homes built in Edmonton. A peaceful weekend activity.
Such a stunning piece of infrastructure architecture. The northbound bridge on the Walterdale Bridge is a blessing. The ever troubling interaction of Walterdale Hill and Queen Elizabeth Park Road has always been a nightmare. But the new bridge with the four wide lanes of traffic has alleviated so many backed up nights waiting to head north to 105 Street. Also space for pedestrian traffic is extremely generous on both sides of the bridge.
